the bird who didn't know how to

fly it was a beautiful morning and

Connie and her mommy and daddy got up

early to make the most of the day have

fun playing outside Connie but don't be

back late don't worry Mom I'm just going

for a little walk in the

woods a troop of busy little ants have

decided to go out for a walk as well

and a mother bird was flying back to her

nest where her little ones were waiting

for

her my dear children today is a special

day the time has come for you to

fly mother bird told them to follow her

example the first little bird flapped

his wings and flew away then it was the

second little Bird's turn but the third

little bird was too nervous to fly and

he stayed in the nest just then Connie

came by and saw the little bird sitting

in the nest on its own hello little bird

why do you look so sad I can't fly all

the rest of the family are out flying

but I don't know how you're a bird jump

and flap your wings okay then I'm going

to give it a

try the little bird jumped and flapped

his wings but he didn't fly he fell on

top of

Connie the little bird was sad because

he didn't know how to fly But Connie who

was very good hearted said she'd take

him for a walk and perhaps he'd learn to

fly on the

way con introduced the little bird to

her friends the

[Music]

Sheep he also met scratcher a friendly

little pig

[Music]

and along the way the little bird saw

lots of funny insects too thanks for

taking me walking I'm seeing lots of

things for the very first

time Connie and the little bird looked

up in the sky they saw a beautiful

dragonfly comes zooming by and three

little butterflies fluttering their

colorful

wings I wish I could fly like those

butterflies but I just don't know how to

well I'll teach you how come on I'll

give you some flying

lessons are you ready then all you have

to do is jump and flap your

wings the little bird flapped his wings

with all his might but he still couldn't

fly their first try didn't work out but

Connie wasn't going to give up and soon

they were ready to try

again fly fly

[Applause]

fly there's no point trying I'll never

be able to fly I'm

useless up above an eagle was soaring

and swooping among the clouds he made

flying Look So

Easy don't be down hard Mar keep trying

I'm sure you'll do it in the

somebody help me I'm stuck out here in

the middle of the

lake Connie and her friends came running

to see if they could

help oh look that poor little ant we

have to save it but the lake is much too

deep to cross how are we going to reach

it somebody help me I think this Leaf is

sinking wait I'll save you Connie looked

at her friend and realized what he meant

to do he was going to fly over to the

ant and rescue it but would he be able

to fly he flapped his wings and suddenly

he rose into the air he was still a

little bit wobbly whoops but he was

flying

Connie and Sam the rabbit watched

happily as the little bird flew to the

middle of the

lake the ant climbed safely onto his

back the little bird had saved the day

Connie and Sam gave him a round of

applause for being so

[Music]

brave oh thank you I don't know what I

would have done done without you just

then the motherb bird arrived there you

are at last Nigel we've be looking for

you everywhere I didn't know how to fly

mommy But Connie gave me lessons and now

I'm very good at

it watch and the little bird flapped his

wings and flew up in the air the other

birds watched him fly and they were very

impressed thank you for helping Nigel

Connie saw that her friend Nigel was

flying down to see her she knew that

they would always be very good

friends goodbye Nigel Connie watched the

little bird flying happily with the rest

of his family until they were out of

sight that night Connie remembered how

the little bird had learned to fly

because he wanted to save the ant it's

when you help someone that you really

give the best of yourself sweet dreams
