Connie it was a beautiful morning Connie

and Pat were out in the field picking

apples to take home for their mommies

and daddies

now we've collected some apples why

fun Connie kicked the ball they both ran

to play with

river and was washed

away

lucky a friendly fish sto well done Mr

could throw the ball out to us

you not long afterwards patch and Connie

went to fetch their basket but a big

surprise was in store for

them the basket someone's taken

it we'll just have to find out who it

was

I can smell the apples I'll follow the

trail Connie and Patch followed the

trail until it came to an

anthill they thought the ants might have

taken the

out

hello Connie what are you looking for in

our Nest well you see we're looking for

some apples that disappeared you haven't

got them in your nest have you apples in

the nest that's

impossible what you mean it's impossible

an apple would be much too big to fit

into our nest of course the hes you come

in and out of too small the answer are

too little to have taken the basket with

the apples in it it must have been

somebody else we'll have to keep looking

whoever took the apples must be a lot

bigger than

us I can smell apples again this

we Patch's nose LED them to one of the

apples from the basket and next to it

they found something even more

interesting a set of

footprints who are those tracks they

belong to whoever took the basket patch

let's follow

them the track stop right here what do

we do

now oh someone's coming let's go and

hide

let's follow that dock maybe she took

basket the tracks are not the same

Connie back up didn't take the basket oh

look at those funny tracks Connie who

could have made

them those are your tracks patch

silly patch and Connie were excited to

find out that everyone leaves a

different kind of

track just then Rebecca the hen came by

and Connie and Patch decided to follow

her but when they looked at her tracks

They knew that she couldn't have Tak the

basket of apples

either I think we should give up now

patch it's time for us to go

home con and Patch were a little sad

because they hadn't been able to find

their apples but then something caught

Connie's

attention look patch these tracks are

exactly the same as the ones we were

following before well Connie you're

right come on let's follow them

look the tracks lead to the front door

of my house well At Last we're going to

find out who those mystery tracks belong

to Connie smiled happily because they

would soon know who had taken the

apples oh what's a surprise surprise

what do you mean surprise

I never thought it was you who had taken

our basket daddy Connie's daddy told

them how he'd found the basket he

thought someone had lost it so he

brought it home I thought it would be a

shame for those apples to go to

waste it was me who picked those apples

with patch we were going to give them to

you as a surprise present daddy well

I've got a surprise here for you

instead I've made you a delicious apple

pie Connie and Patch were over the moon

there was nothing they liked better than

Apple

Pie and as it was such a lovely day they

took the pie to eat out in the

fields that night Connie thought how

many friends she had and how they all

left different Footprints it was such

fun to follow their tracks through the

woods sweet dreams Connie
