01x51 - The bridge

bridge it had been raining for days and

days Connie couldn't go out to play and

she was bored with staying

inside I'm fed up is it never going to

stop raining rain is very important it

fills the river so we can drink and

makes plants grow so we can eat and

sometimes a beautiful rainbow up in the

sky I've never seen a rainbow

mommy oh it's so

[Music]

pretty now the rain stopped I'm going to

go and play with patch I'll be back

later mommy bye-bye have a lovely day

make sure you play safely and don't be

back late

[Music]

Connie walked through the woods until

she came to the river a little frog was

enjoying the sunshine sitting on a water

lily as Connie watched a water skater go

by she noticed the river was very full

oh what a lot of water there is in the

river patch was strolling along

nearby oh dear there's so much water I

can't yet

[Music]

across hello there Pat I'm I can't get

across the river either it's because of

all that rain it falls on the mountains

and washes down into the streams and

rivers and they fill right up oh no if

we can't get across we can't play

[Music]

together but Connie was very clever and

she had an

idea we should build a bridge because

then we could get across the

river Connie thought that if if she

could push an old tree trunk over they

could use it as a bridge but it was very

tough and it wouldn't

break I don't think that we can build a

bridge all by ourselves Connie we'll

just have to ask somebody to help

us yes you're right patch and it'll have

to be someone strong I'll go and ask my

daddy he's very

strong con's daddy thought it would be a

very good idea to make a bridge and he

came to the river to help them

if we're going to make a really good

Bridge across the river we'll have to

ask all your friends from the woods to

help us oh good we'll get all our

friends together I'll go and fetch

everyone I can

find so will I see you soon Daddy see

you soon Connie bring as many friends as

you

can went to visit Timmy the

bear meanwhile Connie went to ask her

friends the ants for help they said

there was nothing they liked better than

making Bridges and set off happily

towards the

[Music]

river when Connie got back the dad was

ready to start building the bridge he

rolled a great big rock down to the

river

[Music]

back then Timmy the bear pushed another

another big rock into place on the other

side Connie's Daddy was very strong and

he pushed down the old tree

trunp oh well done Daddy now we can all

help push it down to the

river good work everybody the bridge is

looking great

[Music]

hooray now we can cross the

[Music]

river nibble you shouldn't have been so

impatient to get across we haven't

finished building the bridge yet have

we first we have to fix some planks to

it so that it's safe to go

across patch remembered a broken down

old Hut in the woods where they could

find all the wood they

needed we can collect these old planks

and use them to finish the bridge good

thinking patch let's start collecting

them right away

[Music]

one by one they put the planks down on

top of the tree

[Music]

trunks now all they had to do was fix

the planks firmly in place luckily hedi

was there to help with his long sharp

spines

[Music]

and so with a little bit of help from

everybody they built the strongest

safest prettiest bridge for miles and

miles

[Music]

around hooray now we can cross the river

patch patch was very happy he knew that

however much it rained there would

always be a bridge and he would always

be able to go and meet his best friend

Connie that night Connie was very tired

but before she went to sleep she thought

that when everybody joins in and works

together they can do marvelous things

sweet dreams Connie
