06x05 - Willow Whispers / Pink! / The Pond Prince

it had been a day of rough and tumble

katie learned that even pillows can hurt

when someone hits you a little too hard

orbee found out that if you do three

somersaults in a row

you get really dizzy and they both

discovered

that sharing a friend can be a lot of

fun

miguel was visiting for the whole day

after lunch mom looked around at the

living room it was a bit

upside down she suggested playing

outside

the friends didn't need any convincing

and in flash they were gone

once they were outside they saw mrs

peret checking her mailbox

katie called her and asked if they could

play in her willow tree

miguel looked at his two friends he

couldn't figure out why on earth they

would want to do that

mrs peret told them that she and the

tree would be delighted

the kitty grabbed miguel's hand and in a

flash they were at the tree

miguel walked in through the branches

and was surprised to find on the other

side

it was hollow the branches made a little

shell around the tree and once inside

no one could see you

was a low branch just right for climbing

now miguel understood why katie and

orbee

wanted to play in the willow it was sort

of

magical katie immediately suggested they

play a game of wizards

they could pretend that this magic tree

was their forest home

everybody loved the idea and they began

to play

katie picked up three willow wands she

told her wizard friends to be careful

the magic

in the wands was really strong

everybody giggled orbee tooted to his

friends that he was a very

powerful wizard and he spun around to

prove it

miguel waved his wand as he told his

friends he was so

powerful he could actually with the wave

of his willow wand

make the bird sing

katy and orbee smiled at that he waved

his wand

furiously and then in a very magical way

he said

at first there was silence and then

one bird started to sing and another

sang back

and soon the yard was full of birds

singing their songs

katie and orbee were so impressed with

the extraordinary magic of miguel

they clapped then orbee stretched up

tall poking his wand way up high in the

sky

he made circles in the air and he

trumpeted he

wizard orbis katie and miguel chuckled

at the sound of it

well he said wizard orbis could actually

cause the flowers and mrs perez garden

to bloom with his

unbelievable magic the other wizards

nodded in agreement this would

definitely be

an amazing feat

ever so slowly they pulled the willow

branches apart

and peeked out at mrs peret's flowers

she was watering them and noticed the

three wizards looking at her

mrs perette waved but the wizards took

no notice

they looked in wonder at all the

beautiful flowers

and clapped for wizard orbis then they

all waved to mrs caret

and shot back under the willows

katie told her friends it was almost

unbelievable how magic they really were

the boys had to admit it was true

orbee burbled it was her turn kitty

thought for a minute

and then she crouched low and walked all

around the willow tree

and she told them she would make the

willow tree

whisper

well i have to tell you

just hearing such an impossible thing

made orbee and miguel

stop pretending for a moment mcgill

pointed out

birds sing they sing anyway so he knew

his magic could come true

or be softly verbal to katie he had done

the same thing

everybody knew the flowers were out but

trees never whispered they couldn't even

talk

orbee and miguel both looked at katie

and told her that she should

change it to something else katie smiled

at both of them

you have to believe in magic she pointed

out

the tree would whisper maybe not right

now but soon

with that she suggested a flying wizard

game

she climbed up on the low branch and

said she was flying as she jumped down

arms outstretched miguel climbed up next

to him he did the same thing

only he whooped when he jumped on

orbee climbed up a little higher and did

a somersault

in the air the other two wizards

applauded they were very impressed

orbee pointed out that the tree hadn't

whispered yet

he nurbled katie could easily change her

mind and do something like

make the grass green if she wanted

katie kissed orbee in the end of his

long notion she told him that right now

the tree had nothing to say

orbee and miguel looked at each other

they really weren't sure that katie

understood the game

miguel scratched his head with his wand

and then he raised it up and told them

it was now time for the wild wizard

dance

orbee made a tooting beeping sound that

was perfect for

wild wizard dancing and all the wizards

began to boogie him i have to tell you

it was wild bobby ran up the tree and

flipped over onto his feet again katie

wiggled and waved her arms and miguel

pretended his wand was making him dance

and

it was very very funny pretty soon it

was time to

head home for some juice the wizards hid

their wands in the branches of the tree

orbee asked katie again if she wanted to

do another

wand wish kitty smiled the tree would

whisper

orbee shook his head he couldn't

understand why

katie kept saying that the three friends

parted the branches and headed over to

the sidewalk

mrs peret waved goodbye to them and they

weighed back and as they turned toward

katie's

a very surprising thing occurred

the trees branches rustled in the wind

and katie beamed

orbee and miguel stood stock still

orbee burbled in the softest voice

that the tree was whispering

miguel who was listening very hard

turned to his two friends and told them

he knew what the tree was saying

katie giggled with the light miguel

smiled

it had invited him to come back and play

another day well orbee just stood

and looked from katie to mcgill and then

he threw his arms around katie and told

her

she was the most magical wizard of all

time and do you know

i think at that very moment maybe she

was

and i hope the next time you're out of

nature you'll listen for the whisper

of the trees i just happen to know that

the trees would love it if you came back

to play with them

too

[Music]

did you know in china

there's a huge wall that was built many

many years ago

it's so big that it took over 1 000

years to build

in fact it's so big that you can even

see it from outer space

wow that's a pretty big wall

[Music]

it was a perfect autumn day

katie discovered that it mum puts a

bright red leaf between two sheets of

waxed paper

and irons it you can keep the leaf

almost forever

orb you learned that acorns seemed to

have little hats on them

and they both found out that making a

fall collage means that you have bright

fall

colors all over your page

well the doorbell had been ringing all

morning arthur

yee ping miguel brynn and phoebe had all

gathered at katie's house

they wanted to play outside on this

beautiful october day

[Music]

in the backyard friends were playing a

game of what am i

that meant you had to search the yard

for something that was a

similar color to your clothes and make

the shape of it with your body

then everybody had to guess what you

were

arthur and his bright red jacket easily

blended in with the

sumac bush but he spread his arms out

yi ping's yellow sweater looked almost

exactly like the yellow wheelbarrow

she stuck a leg out

katie and her t-shirt and jeans sat in a

funny position and looked a lot like the

lawn chairs

orbeez searched the yard for something

that was his color

pink but he found nothing not

even a pink flower was left as miguel

bryn and phoebe all stood in front of

the hanging sheets

trying to look like they were blowing in

the wind or be realized that

his pink didn't go with too many autumn

things

he made a funny shape like the birdbath

anyway

and everyone laughed

next they decided on a game of statues

brynn was the statue maker

she spun katie refinished spinning and

came to rest with one leg sticking up

and

her hands stretched out in front of her

as they played the statue got sillier

and sillier until finally it was

arthur's turn

brims spun arthur and he sort of tripped

and stuck one

foot in the air and his head and his

hands rested down on the ground

that orbee was next brim forgot how

light he was and

made him spin fast he bumped into arthur

and rolled up on his back when arthur

started laughing

on arthur's back orbee pointed two feet

out the back and one arm reached way up

into the sky

they made such a funny statue that

everybody clapped until arthur who was

laughing so hard

finally collapsed

orbee and arthur tumbled onto the ground

in the giggling heat

and the giggling heap looked like

absolutely so much fun

that the other friends all ran and piled

on

soon it was a huge pile of friends all

laughing

mom brought out a tray of juice and

cheese treats

as everybody enjoyed their snack they

tried to decide what to play next

katie looked out at the brightly colored

garden and said that it looked

perfect for hide and seek

as everyone got their last drop of juice

they all agreed

the game picked up pretty quickly miguel

was it

as he counted to 20 his friends all shot

out to find the best hiding places they

could

orbee climbed up a tree and hid in the

brightly colored leaves on the branch

as mcgill shouted out 20 and added ready

or not here i come

orbee ducked down holding himself very

still

in what seemed like one second miguel

called out one two three on orbee

and touched home base

now i should explain that orbee was

really surprised

he could barely see miguel through the

leaves and he certainly couldn't see the

ground

but he climbed down eager to play the

next round

when everyone had been caught orbee

asked miguel

how he had seen him in such a grand

hiding place miguel patted his shoulder

and told him that

leaves are all kinds of colors but they

aren't pink

or beside the next round orbee was it

and he found everyone in time he found

phoebe first

so she was it next

orbee scanned the yard as phoebe county

and he saw a perfect place behind a

tipped up wheelbarrow

orbee stood underneath and was perfectly

hidden

but after phoebe counted to 20 she

looked around and called

out one two three on orbee now

you can imagine orbee was very bothered

by this

why was he so easy to find

when he asked phoebe she explained that

she knew the wheelbarrow didn't have

pink toes

and he did this pink thing was started

to get to orbee

pink was a terrific color for everything

else after all it made people happy it

was so bright and cheerful

but it wasn't great for hide and seek

he didn't play the next round he watched

as he searched around the backyard he

noticed that katie was hard to see

because

only her shoes showed behind the bush

and black shoes fit in with nature

and just as he realized that arthur's

red hair fit in with the leaves

orbee had a brilliant idea

he scrambled up the stairs in katie's

room he threw open the costume box

and found black leotards a black hat and

a long black coat

as he looked in the mirror he grinned

now he had a chance

when he came out yi ping was counting

the others were nowhere to be seen

he called to her that he was playing

again as he ran to the back of the yard

during that round of hide and seek when

orbee hid nobody found him

he'd crouched down behind the back

garden plants and actually after a few

minutes

all the friends joined yi ping in the

hut

when miguel literally tripped on him

orbee jumped up

and raced to home base he surprised

everybody because he wasn't pink like

orbeez should be

and for a minute nobody knew exactly who

he was

as he ran his coat which was too long

tripped him

he flipped in midair and pushed off a

tree trunk into a cartwheel

the friends all looked at each other now

there was no question as to

who this person in the black coat was

yi ping with the shriek yelled out that

it was orbee and she scrambled for home

base but this time

orbee beat her and got home free

everybody cheered for even yeeping

barbie told his friends that being pink

was the greatest but

not for hiding everyone agreed that when

they looked for him

they looked for pink it was certainly

going to be more difficult now that he

had black on

[Music]

and i have to tell you that all the

friends remembered that game of hide and

seek

they even do to this day

and you know that if you had been there

you'd have remembered it too

it was great fun

[Music]

the very best animal to travel with in

the desert

is a cattle camels are much more at home

in the desert

than a horse or a goat or even an

elephant

that's because a camel can go up to 10

days without water isn't that incredible

[Music]

[Music]

it had been a day of imagining

katie learned that you can pretend to

fly but it's not safe to jump off

anything higher than the bed

orbee found out that even if you think

you're strong enough to lift the whole

house

you're not really that strong and they

both discovered

that if you really try to imagine it

you can turn your whole bedroom into an

enchanted forest

katie and orbee had been playing king

and queen and orbee was still in his big

purple cape

and katie was in her long black dress

katie had to step over the cape to give

orbee his grape juice

they were sitting on the back of the

steps looking out of the garden

when they thought they saw something

move

it was something small but big enough to

see from where they were

on the steps at first they thought

they had imagined it but then the two

friends put down the grape juice glasses

and tiptoed cape dress and all

across the yard where it was moving

again

when it jumped a third time they quickly

realized

their mystery visitor was a frog

katie told orbee that dad had once read

her a story

about a prince who had been turned into

a little frog by a witch

orbee looked at the frog curiously it

did look a little different he thought

maybe

this frog was once a prince

or be immediately bowed deeply with

a great flourish which was what he

thought you would do in front of a

prince

giggles burst out of katie as she told

him that it was only a story

a fairy tale orbee examined the frog

more carefully

there's a chance he burbled that it

wasn't just a fairy tale there was a

chance

it was true maybe this very frog

was actually a prince suffering under

the spill

of a mighty witch katie looked at him

and decided to play along she told orbee

she couldn't remember how

dad's story went exactly but they could

make up their own

their witch was absolutely the nicest

witch in which world

and she cast the spell to help the frog

orbee scratched his head

and strutted like a prince how

could it help the frog or be burbled

katie told orbee the prince was entirely

too rude to prince to stay as a person

she had to change him into a frog

because

he never ever remembered to say thank

you

orbee looked at his friend this was

going to be fun

katie pretending to be the witch told

orbee the prince that until he could

learn to be

polite it would be frog's will for him

then katie picked up a stick and using

it as a wand

waved it in orbeez direction orbee

rolled over backwards with laughter

and ended up in a frog position

pretending he couldn't get up

he tried to talk but all that came out

was an orbeez

then he jumped around the backyard like

a frog cape flying out behind him even

the garden frog

looked at him in disbelief katie laughed

and told him

it would be no help if he begged her to

change back because

manners were very important

and he didn't seem to have any orbeez

hopped right up and circled around her

bubbling

in a froggy way to believe that the

police put the blaze

katie waved her wand and touched the top

of his head

she would only change her mind if he

showed what a polite frog he could be

with that orbee hopped over and

nodded his head this way and that

pretending to have a conversation with

the astonished frog

then katie told orbee that to break the

spell the frog and the story had to be

kissed

[Music]

that was the only way orbee looked at

the little frog

he bent down close to it the frog didn't

jump away

and i think it was because he couldn't

believe

that he was actually seeing such a huge

big pink frog

of course it might have been because he

wanted to know the end of the story

but nose to nose with the little

astonished frog

orbee didn't move then he suddenly

jumped up the frog wept away hiding

under a tall leafy flower for protection

orbee walked over to katie and tooted

but the frog was cute and all but

there was no way that he was going to

kiss it katie giggled

and she said it was in the fairy tale

but in their story the ending could be

different if they wanted orbee

crossed down again waiting to find out

what it would be

the little frog under the big leafy

flower peeked out

he wanted to know too i think katie

tapped her shoe with the wand and in a

flash

her face lit up she announced that the

frog

could have had the kiss that would turn

him back to a person

but he decided he didn't want it

orbee burbled the question didn't the

frog want to be a prince again

katie bean joyful of her great idea

she said that the frog loved to swim in

the pond

or be mimed some frog swimming while he

perched on a soccer ball

katie found it hysterical wiping away

laugh tears and she added that he loved

to hop from lily pad to lilly pat

orbee leap from the soccer ball to the

wheelbarrow to the sandbox

to the lawn chair into the ball again

katie

shrieked with laughter the little frog

under the leafy plant

popped out a tiny bit more to get a

better view

katie started in again she said that as

the frog hopped

he realized he had to have good manners

even if he was a tiny green

well in this case pink frog soon the

prince

orbi frog was hopping and swimming and

saying

please and thank you too then katie

finished her version of the story when

the

witch came back to grant the little frog

his princely body

she was surprised to find that he wanted

to stay a frog

but when she heard him say please which

was very polite

she agreed and soon the witch left the

happy frog in the pond

with his wish come true the end

pleased with their story katie and orbee

headed for what was left of their jews

katie told orbee that as the wits left

the prince in the frog state and walked

away

the happy frog croaked thank you so you

can imagine how startled they were to

hear a very real

rabbit come from little green frog in

the garden

they were so surprised they

they burst out laughing now i'm not sure

if the frog actually understood the

story

but it certainly seemed like it after

all

he did make a croaking sound

and if you had been there you would have

heard him too
