and now today's adventure of outerscope one mirrors don't lie we've discovered

that the secret of the tree trees happiness is that they are always laughing at the poor young young oh I

think that show was so funny now I'm sorry I left the onions we've got to

help them but what can we do I just don't know but those tree treats

I wonder they would feel if they had to get up on stage and make fun of themselves boy I'd sure like to see that

hey do you think there's a way to get them to do it well maybe there is what

if we could get them to play a little game a game that would turn things upside down for a while the tree treats

with pertinently onions bro sure and the onions will pretend there were tree treats oh yeah then for a

while the union can be the bullies and the tree treats will get laughed at hey

that might shake things up around here but do you think we could pull it off oh I think the onions would enjoy the game

sure but the tree treats won't like the idea one bit well we've got to find a

way to make them want to but how I don't know but if only we can manage to do it

everyone around you would see things more clearly clearly clearly that's the

answer I've got just to say that convinced them what is it you'll see

mirror goodness how gorgeous I am yeah

I'm quite a guy Oh what golden beauty Hey look how

talented I am much better than those dumb Yun Yun's ad that's nothing watch me I can put

those unions to show how about me I've got talent two out of the way kiddos

it's my turn well I can see you're going

to like our game oh yeah they told me about a new game we treat treats are

going to pretend we're Yun Yun's and put on a show while the Jung Eun's in the audience pretend they're on a

show huh that's right only our show is going to be loads better than any old Yun Yun's show naturally far far better

by with our talent we can knock their eyes out sure we can do songs and jokes

and I can get some of my friends to do a can-can note how about a super-duper

balancing act relish we'd be I got good news for you what what is it the first step is

working perfectly pretty soon we'll have all the treats set and we could start the game our troubles may soon be over

this game should be fun I don't know about fun but we might learn something

don't forget you have to try to laugh and laugh at them just like they laugh

at us I hope this game goes well to be

dance is movement we move because we are alive

I'm a dancer I work with my body and

especially my feet dancing is the thing

that I love to do the most my name is

Ella Morales and I perform with American Ballet Theatre one of the best ballet

companies in the world although I was born in New York City I grew up in

Puerto Rico where my parents are from I always wanted to be a dancer so when I

was 9 my mother took me to my first ballet class I liked it so much that I

continued to study so that I could become a ballerina it was always my

dream that's just a class and exercise every

day to teach the body how to move with the music at the bar we learned all the

different steps that we do on stage so we all practice and practice I love my

old toe shoes they feel so comfortable every time I get a new pair I have to

sell ribbons very carefully and then practice with them until they feel good

a dancer has to take good care of

herself we learn how to put on makeup and what colors to use makeup help us

look pretty on stage it is also just as important to take good care of your hair

I like to keep mine clean and shiny part

of my schedule is going to rehearsals to learn the different roles I dance like the pigtailed girl from graduation ball

all right just a moment stop the music minute Hilda let me see the other side Hilda good a little more eyeball ma

when I think of my dancing I wish I never had to stop have they called five

minutes they call on stage sometimes before a performance we all get a little

nervous so we help each other no no with

our costumes with our makeup I mean what you don't want them to but what's really

important is that we all try to do our best and next day it's back to class

because as a great ballerina used to say talent is work work work

she teaches me dances from Japan at the beginning of the lesson I always say

onegai shima please teach me how at the

end I always say arigato arigato means thank you I danced in the cherry blossom

festival in Japan town in San Francisco the dance is in the same school at the

same color OB our OB is golden black

this is me my kimono and Obi I was a

little nervous before we started and while we were waiting backstage I was practicing right up to the last minute

madam me Suhani yogi my teacher was helping me I think she is very beautiful

she is the kindest person I have ever known Here I am dancing on acog egads

when a black cat meets a white cat and they have some kittens you might think

the kittens would all be gray but more than likely some will be black some

white and some will be in between gray have you ever wondered how people get to

be different shades of color this is Stephie Treadway and her brother Brad

their parents are Frank and deal to our Treadway deal dar is from India and

Frank was born in the United States if you look at Stephie's hand next to

Brad's you see that Stephie's is somewhat lighter that's because children with the same

parents can be different shades of color let's look at another family josh has

straight hair like his mother Seth has curly hair just like his father

yet it's Josh who has his father's brown eyes and Seth has blue eyes just like

his mother when two people have children the children don't look exactly like

either their mother or their father but they share some qualities from each what

happens is not a mixing of qualities each child is a new creation with some

parts that look like each parent but each comes out looking like a totally new and original person Josh and Seth

shades of skin color color of eyes color and kind of hair these and many other

qualities we get from our parents but we are never exactly the same as our parents

and out we need some sweet potatoes till

they are tender and then remove their skins and mash them in a big bowl add

the sugar milk the egg and the butter the cinnamon and lemon extract now beat the mixture until

it's creamy then grease the baking sheet this will be dreaming then the sweet

potato mixture in a 350 degrees it'll take wait 45 minutes when it's done

you'll have southern pleasure for everyone you might want to take it out

10 minutes early and do you know what

what I wish I was black right so I could dance like Mary Frances you know Lilly

we all learn to move before we learn anything else

I plan to have the tree treats put on a show is working then they'll know how

the union's feel the first step is working perfectly pretty soon we'll have all the treated set and we could start

the game our troubles may soon be over this game should be fun I don't know

about fun but we might learn something don't forget you have to try to laugh

and laugh at them just like they laugh at us I hope this game goes well

gee do you think the game is working it's too soon to tell I think I'm not

enjoying this game I feel powerful and important but I don't feel good

difference between a handshake and a milkshake well you're the only girl I

know who wears her teeth parted in the middle

super in their yukatas dresses worn by Japanese American girls at special

festivals the Obon festival oh and can't you imagine bumblebee for

one second in a real American Indian outfit speaking to us in her native sign

language there's Tang looking real cute is white

mandarin collar jacket playing sweet music on his flute after seeing all the

different clothes it's funny because all I've ever seen my friends wearing before our t-shirts blue jeans and sneakers

that's right because we play a lot of blue jeans t-shirts are the best clothes for the

things to eat and drink the ancient Greeks only recognized the

birthdays of their gods and in old Rome only the Emperor's are celebrated with a

party some people always celebrate the birthdays of very special people and some people only celebrate very special

birthdays in China the birthdays that really count are your first tenth 50th

and most important of all your 60th in America your 18th birthday is a very

special occasion on that birthday your country gives you an important present

the right to vote the custom of birthday

parties for children complete with birthday cake and candles comes from

Germany and while they didn't start the

custom of singing birthday greetings in Mexico the Mexicans probably do it better than anyone else there you're serenaded with

birthday songs called mananitas a kind of musical birthday card

cookies really neat so easy to make really easy to eat oh good you know

they're made by people who come here from all over the globe they're a Spanish one brush one summer even

then mash the fire off with a bark until it's smooth and creamy a little at a

time so everything stays smooth and creamy that's fine

then football go on an ungreased cookie sheet bacon 310 degrees for 25 minutes

please just let the edges get a little bit Brown and remember when you bake you

need a grown-up around when the butter cookies are done roll them in the powdered sugar if you want

Albert there are times when each of us feels like we don't fit in we all have

something we're not too happy about could be the way we look the way we play

baseball how much money we have sometimes other people can be painfully

good at picking on our weak points and that's when a nasty word or even a look

can really hurt so think about how you've been hurt by someone finding your

flaws before you make fun of others let's run the film back and see what
