right welcome to papy land I'm so glad

you've come and I imagine you're already

imagining what might happen today in

papy

land that's that's right it's the place

where anything can happen hey Sunny

don't you know what time it

is well lookie

here you see what time it is Kristen and

Janette how about you Martin and David

and

Edward you're right it's blue after 2

let's get inspired with today's py

perfect idea

uh how should we do

that did I hear somebody say wishing

wheel I was wishing you'd say something

like

that it's our turn to take a great big

turn of the wishing wheel together now

reach out and help me pull the lever to

get things spinning is your pulling arm

ready

ready set

spin our noses are in for a sweet

smelling treat today when we visit Lily

of the fields is everybody ready to

posie I mean mosy on over to see Lily

with me well flower me or should I say

follow

me is that you pey it's no mirror you're

looking at peppy I'm the real thing even

even py gets puzzled sometimes with all

the extra papy ordinary things that go

on around

here well it goes to show you anything

can happen in papy land I can already

see the colorful Hills

and I can smell the beautiful flowers

hurry in so you can too girls and

boys go ahead everybody have a bouquet

of fun with Lily and all of her

flowering friends is it as pretty as you

remember

do you ever have colorful dreams at

night when you sleep you do so does py

but even my dreams aren't as colorful as

Lily of the fields well let's not just

dream about it let's go see her right

now follow me we'll have lots of

fun why Lily you're looking as beautiful

as ever and so are all of your friends

in the field hello papy and we thank you

for your kind words right fellow

py I see you've brought all of our

children friends today hi girls and boys

hello

children what brings you to see Lily of

the fields today and besides saying

hello to our flower friends we're hoping

to think of an idea that will help us do

some creative things well many artists

like to paint pictures of flowers yes

that's true lily and I can see why

flowers are full of color and life

that's what makes each one very very

special not

me did anybody just hear

anything I did py I heard myself say not

me well I'll be meet forget me not py

forget me not meet papy

I'm pleased to make your acquaintance py

and I'm happy to meet you forget me not

but I'm wondering about something you

said you are yes did I hear you say that

you don't feel very very special I don't

even feel just plain special not at all

well why is that I'm surprised you can't

tell why just look at me yes I'm just a

flower butd among all these wonderful

flowers I stick out like a sore thumb

I'm a thorn among roses a weed among

tulips they're there forget me not

forget me not has been acting like this

for weeks it seems there's nothing any

of us can do to console

her what can we do to help forget me not

feel better do any of you have any ideas

what did I hear you say maybe a pi

picture would help I believe you have

given me the seed of an excellent idea

how would you like to watch me draw a

picture with the children oh boy going

to draw and what about you forget me now

would you like to see py draw I suppose

Me Not tears and I'll get

started today we're going to draw a

picture of a butterfly and a caterpillar

and they're together in the same

picture okay I'm going to start by

drawing the caterpillar first then we'll

draw the

butterfly okay I'm going to put the

caterpillar off to the right so we'll

start with his eyes right here that's

one

Circle and another Circle right next to

it like that good now'll put two little

circles on the inside to make it to make

it look like the caterpillar's looking

good now we'll do the shape of his head

which is another circle like this and go

around and

stop good now let's put a mouth on

him he's kind of sad so that means we

turn the curved line will go down when

he's sad if he was happy we'd make the

lines go up but he's sad so we'll draw

the line down on the ends like that okay

good now let's draw a part the

caterpillar here his body and he has

sections many sections like that and

they're just circles it looks like

circles lined up one behind the next and

so on and so forth like

this see

that

okay now we have to put some legs on the

caterpillar and he has a lot of legs but

we'll just draw as many as we can right

now and you can draw as many as you'd

like

all right we'll put one leg there and a

foot and a leg

there good and you can you can repeat

that now you can repeat that one after

another just follow papy and I'll show

you here we go another leg and another

leg and another leg and another leg and

another leg and another leg I'm getting

tired and another leg good now let's put

some let's indicate some feet by just

doing little circles like that or ovals

they're basically ovals an oval is a

little flatter than a circle here we go

just like that and right there and again

and

again good how does yours look good I

hope good all right now we're going to

put some uh the antenna on the on the

caterp or the toodle and antenna coming

up like

this okay follow me it's just two curved

lines one

here and one right there good and I'm

going to put a little ball on the end of

that one and a little circle it's ball

is a circle it's the same thing it's a

circle is Round And so a ball is in the

shape of a circle so I called it a

little ball okay let's see here we're

going to start with the butter the

butterfly now and we're going to start

with his his face and we'll start right

here follow along and make this shape

just like papy go around and come in a

little bit and then connect it good and

now let's put some eyes on our butterfly

one two cuz he's looking at us and now

we want to put a smile on the

butterfly's face let's do that one

curved line up as he's smiling and let's

double the line and now he's showing his

teeth good okay now I want to put the

butterfly's body on there so if you'll

follow me we'll come down like this and

bring this

line right up like that and stop okay

and we'll put a line here like that and

another line like

that good he's starting to look pretty

good and and his arms are folded like

this just like that so we'll draw those

on right now starting right here

we'll put a line like that and just a

little oval there to show that's his

hand and and we'll do the same thing on

the other side he has his arms

folded

good now we have to draw the wings on

our butterfly so we'll do that by

starting right here and bring a long

wide looping line around like that and a

little one and a little one and another

little one like that and connect it

there's one Wing good well he can't fly

now can he he's only he only has one

Wing so he could never fly could he all

right let's put the other wing on him

right now starting right here and

another looping line and down and a loop

a little Loop and kind of another little

Loop and another loop here and finish it

with one last looping line like that

good now now we're going to put some a

funny design on the wings you could do

anything you'd like you can put stripes

on the wing you could do anything you

want that's fun I'm I'm going to put

little circles and and designs on the

wing you can just do anything you'd like

though and and if some of you want to

follow along you can do that too a

circle here a circle on the other one a

circle here and another one and an

oldal there and an oval right there good

and I'm going to kind of do like a

sideways heart that looks like a heart

to me so I'll call it a sideways heart

it's not right side up it's kind of

sideways good now I'd like to put some

feet on our butterfly so we'll do that

right now are you following along good

one leg there and another leg

there now let's put a

foot there and another one there good

they look very good together don't they

now what's missing on that

butterfly what does a butterfly have

that the caterpillar no it's the other

way around what does the caterpillar

have and what doesn't the butterfly

have antenna that's right Let's do let's

put some antennas on the on the top of

the on the top of the butterfly okay

here we

go

one oh all right I'll put another one

because he has two doesn't he

two and we're going to put little

circles on the end of those just like

the

caterpillar

good well that's our picture of a

butterfly and a caterpillar

together we have lots of caterpillars in

the fields papy and butterflies too

they're our friends but caterpillars

aren't any anything special they're kind

of plain and ordinary just like me

caterpillars are plain and ordinary just

like you well Watch What Happens here

now forget me not I think the C

caterpillar felt kind of like me but it

turned out he was special after all all

of the flowers in the fields are special

in their own way because they're all

unique and different that's what makes

them special everyone has times when

they don't feel very special but it's

good to remember that we're all very

very special in our own ways uh

sometimes we just need to be reminded

now I understand

Forget Me Not wow we I'm my own kind of

flower now hey would all the flowers

like to sing a special song Together o

we'd love to sing a song Oh sing a song

I'm right here papy do you have a song

for us about feeling special I certainly

do can we hear

it everybody's special

no one is left

out and anyone who says there is doesn't

know what he's talking

about because inside of each of us is

something all our

own that no one can ever take away not

copy mimic or clone because way down

deep deep inside of here is where you

are and what what you are and who you

are is dear you are a gift to the whole

wide

world to every

other boy and

girl there's something that only you can

do and that's right you guessed it it's

you it's good that you live there's

something you can

give not any other woman or any man can

give what you can give no one else

can I have to tell you why I do they're

simply just not you because way down

deep deep inside of here is where you

are and what you are and who you are is

dear you are a gift to the whole wide

world to every

other boy and

girl there is something that only you

can do and that's right you guessed it

friends but it's time to get back to

Happy's cabin it's been a very special

day here in the fields thanks to you and

the children papy you are all such

special friends and you taught me a

special lesson about what being special

really means I'll forget you not for

about a special guy like you py I forgot

you not are you ready to come back and

do some special coloring I wish you'd

turn the wishing wheel so we can do just

that py here it

goes I've especially missed you today py

funny you should say that Elmer we were

just with Lily the fields talking and

learning about what it means to be

special are you special when you take a

bath and dress up in fancy clothes sure

uh but you're also special when you're

not dressed up in fancy clothes it's

what's inside that makes you special you

mean my big muscles no Elmer I mean your

thoughts your feelings and your attitude

that's what makes you special Elmer a

shucks now it's time to make our

pictures even more special by coloring

them girls and boys if you don't have

your cray or your markers ready run out

and get them as fast as you can so we

can start coloring but don't worry if

you don't have anything to color with

you can color with your colorful

imagination just pretend to color are

you

ready

good let's begin by coloring the

butterfly yellow and I think I'm going

to use my jumbo yellow crayon isn't that

a big cran boys and girls okay here we

go luy die oh this is going to be a very

very pretty colored butterfly when I'm

done yellow is such a bright cheery

color and I think that you're going to

like the way this looks when papy's

done yes sir look at

that and just continue to fill it in

just like papy's doing and don't worry

about being perfect just do the best you

can and we'll fill in this one Wing here

just like

that very good now let's do the other

Wing okay we'll just fill it in and

color the

butterfly it's such a little silly

looking butterfly but we're going to

color him and make him look real good

yes we are here we

go okay I'm being very careful I want my

drawing to look very neat when I'm done

so I'm coloring very care carefully and

I'll get rid of some of the cray marks

that are left there or the little pieces

of crayon when you're coloring you'll

notice there's little pieces of cray

that build up I like to blow that away

by just going like that all right well

let's start putting some color inside

the wing how's that sound okay I have

just a color that'll go really nice with

this yellow and it's called

magenta okay it's a very bright

looking it almost looks red boys and

girls but it's a very bright color and

it's called magenta isn't that beautiful

those two colors look so beautiful

together oh boy now I'm sure that you're

using different color combinations you

don't have to use the same colors papy's

using so feel free to just color with

any color you like that's what's fun

about coloring you you can choose any

color you

like and that's what makes drawing so

unique and different because we all have

different tastes when it comes to color

and pepp is using yellow and a color

called magenta and if you use yellow and

orange or red and blue or orange and

blue it doesn't matter I'm sure it's

going to look wonderful all right and

we'll color this last spot in over here

oh that looks pretty all right now I

think I'm going to

color the the the center part of this

butterfly here uh green okay that sounds

like a pretty nice color doesn't it good

all right here we go oh yes that looks

very good and I'm going to fill it in

like that and did you notice papy didn't

fill it in all the way he left a little

bit of a line a white line right there

and that makes it look shiny

yes now I'm going to color in the

butterfli head

green and be sure not to color in his

smile because he's smiling and he has

bright white

teeth he's just a happy butterfly and we

want to see the whites of his teeth all

right there that looks pretty good now I

think I'm going to put orange shoes or

orange feet on our butterfly okay

how's that sound silly doesn't

it all right orange feet for the

butterfly

good now the

caterpillar I have a great idea for the

caterpillar I'm going to

make yellow and

green I'm going to use the colors yellow

and green for the caterpillar and we'll

make his face yellow just like this one

yellow yellow face on our

caterpillar and I'm going to skip one

part and I'm going to make the next part

yellow whoops I got a little green on

there but that's okay all right and I'm

going to skip the next part and I'm

going to make that

yellow and I'm going to skip that part

and make the next part yellow there we

go that looks pretty good now I'm going

to take my green crayon and I'm going to

color in those areas that we left white

okay with the green here we go and just

coloring the caterpillar we're coloring

the

caterpillar cuz it's so much fun to

color there we

go oh this is so much fun I'm enjoying

myself girls and boys I really am and I

hope you are too good that looks pretty

good now I think I'm going to color the

caterpillar's feet magenta okay just

kind of same color that we use on the

inside of the butterfly's wing we'll use

to color the caterpillar's feet he's

wearing bright colored

slippers there oh that looks pretty

good there we go and color that in and

that in oh he has so many

feet papy's almost getting tired just

coloring in his

feet all right now I'm going to put some

blue around the C caterpillar's eyes I'm

going to take my blue crayon and I'm

going to outline the

outside of the caterpillar's eyes he has

very nice blue

eyes just like some of you out there you

have blue eyes and some of you have

green eyes and brown eyes

and okay let's see here well let's

take let's take uh the black jumbo

crayon and I'm going to indicate a

little bit of a shadow next to the

caterpillar over here just like this

okay just one line there and one line

there like that and another one and

another one and another one and that

makes it look like that makes it look

like he's on the ground doesn't it we

don't want to make he doesn't fly yet he

can't fly but the butterfly can fly so

I'm going to put a shadow right beneath

the butterfly right over here and just

like so and just to indicate that he's

up in air and he's casting a shadow

right below him when you walk on a sunny

day and you look at your feet You Can

See Your Shadow and he's flying above

here very good that looks good okay I'm

putting my jumbo crayons away like that

and I'll put these crayons in my

pocket and let's take a

look okay let's see what this looks like

very

good let's see what your pictures look

like now hold them up nice and high so I

can see

them o that's great that looks wonderful

well look at that Elmer look at all

those extra special pictures yeah and I

can see some extra special smiles too

you're right Smiles are very special so

keep smiling girls and boys hey sunny

don't you know what time it

is what oh my it's quarter to Orange

it's time to put papy away but come back

again for some more special surprises

and lots of fun too because yeah I know

anything can happen when you're in papy
