welcome to pappyland girls and boys I

can see Dave and and John cream and

Tanya roisin and Alicia I can see you

two are you ready to do some drawing and

coloring today how about some singing

and dancing too great I'm ready too how

would you like to get inspired today

I've thought you washed out the bathtub

Pat I did well you must have missed the

ring around the tub very funny Elmer

that's not a ring around the tub it's a

ring from Bell hello Bell hi Pappy do

you happen to know what contraption

donkey Dan in bunny bear are building in

the barnyard I have no idea something

tells me that you should go and check it

out papi and please would you let me

know what you find out of course Bell

could donkey Dan and Buddy be up to how

about taking a trip to the bar now with

me so we can find out girls and boys how

Idea Cooker

donkey Dan hey there donkey Dan and

buddy bear I wasn't popular and are you

to building it's a super duper idea

cooker papi just one last wing Allah

hammer and it'll be all done here I hit

it buddy it's all done all right donkey

Dan what do we do now my I guess we'll

have to start all over again and what

does an idea cooker do you just turn the

crank and it creates a super duper idea

what kind of super duper idea do you

need we wanna do something special but

we don't have an idea we thought the

idea cooker lord help do you have an

ideal cooker in the cabin happy at

nobody I always carry my ideas with me

in my imagination my ideas come from

here here here here and here you have

ideas all over the place so do you

donkey then and you too buddy bear we do

yes ideas can come from what you see

what you hear what you smell and what

you tasting

much ideas are everywhere so using our

five senses to help our imagination

makes lots of sense once I saw a bird

flying and heard it singing so I wrote a

poem about it the bucket of berries I

picked yesterday smelled so sweet and

tasted so good I drew a picture of it so

I wouldn't forget about them after I ate

him up very good if you want to get your

imagination going think about what you

can smell hear taste a touch or see

around you your senses are sure to give

you some good inspiration for singing

and dancing hey let's draw a picture

together here are we gotta like it a lot

it's a honey of an idea Pappy ideas are

very important you need ideas to write

poems or stories or to draw pictures or

even the right songs do you remember

what you have inside yourself that helps

you get ideas that's why it's your

imagination are your paper and pencils

or markers all ready to draw is your

imagination already too great let's get

started by drawing a little girl

standing next to a box and I'm going to

start off by drawing her face and that's

going to be a circle or the letter O and

I'm gonna start right here i'm going to

get my marker going in a circle just

like that and then i'm going to start it

and bring it around there we go good

alrighty let's put some ears on the face

right there one ear and because we have

two ears let's put another one right

here good now let's do her hair this is

going to be a little girl so we're gonna

but first I'd like to put a line right

here right above this curve line here

the top of the circle let's put another

line

it's a curve line just like that and

you'll see what that's going to be as we

continue now i think i'm going to put

curly hair on her head but you can put

straight hair short hair long hair any

kind of hair you want to put on your

your cartoon you can do because i love

it when you use your imagination there

we go these curved lines show that she

has curly hair yeah here we go all

around like that good now I'm going to

put a circle here and another circle

right yeah good let's connect it looks

like she's wearing glasses now let's put

a line there and align their there's

those are her glasses and what would I

be without showing the little pupil in

the center of the eye there let's draw

her nose now just a curve line like that

and that's her nose and now I'm going to

draw her mouth it's an upward curve just

like that and let's show the lower lip

when you draw an upward line like that

it shows that she's happy by the way you

all have great imaginations I can tell

by the way you're drawing color using

your own ideas yes this is my favorite

part and we get to draw together boys

and girls all right I'm drawing her vest

now so follow along I just put one well

one two three four curve lines and if we

connect this side like that skip that

there don't draw anything here and

connect it right there that's her best

he's wearing a vest now let's draw her

arm kerline there and a curve line

hey just show the fold in her arm by

indicating a small curve line right

there good let's draw her skirt let's

put a line here and a line right there

and connect it good now let's draw a

straight line right here another

straight line but stop another straight

line and staff okay now a curve line and

another curve line and right above that

another curve line and do the same on

the other leg and those are her socks

now let's draw her foot and we'll just

bring that around like that and her

other foot it's another curve line and

we'll just draw another just like you

did only don't touch this line make sure

they're separated there we go and we'll

just put this kind of a half circle

there it's like that good and that's the

bottom of at the top of her skirt right

here this wine good now we're ready to

draw the box let's get started and I'm

going to draw the top part of the box so

let's just put a straight line right

there and bring your line over and stop

and another one and connected connect it

right here now let's bring this over

this is the other side of the lid on the

box and connect it and we'll bring this

over in stock and bring that line over

and staff now let's do the two sides

will do this side of the box I'll bring

a line down and stop and right here

let's bring this straight that's a

straight line and another straight line

now let's connected here

alright what do you imagine might be in

this box did I hear someone say there is

an elephant inside you'd really have to

use your imagination if it an elephant

in there wouldn't you I let's finish by

drawing a ribbon I'm going to put a

ribbon wrapped all around the box so I'm

drawing these straight lines because the

ribbon is it's tied around the box let's

draw a line there bring it down and

bring it down to there and a slanted

line and bring it down and continue

downward and we'll do the same here

we'll bring this line over and that line

over now let's draw the ribbon we have

to draw the ribbon on the box because

there's going to be a big ribbon and

we're going to draw a looping line right

there and another looping line next to

it good now let's draw a straight line

and a curve line just like this a curve

line right to this point that's like so

now starting right here and you see

where I'm starting right here we'll

bring this line over and connect it good

now let's show part of the ribbon

hanging out right here there's going to

be part of the ribbon and it's just

behind the looping ribbons and we'll

just bring that down and stop good well

that's our drawing of a little girl

Celebrate Our Imagination

surprise party it took a lot of

imagination to think of that hee haw hey

let's have our own celebration of

imagination we already have that

decorations no that would be lots of fun

we could eat and then play games and and

then eat again and then dance then eat

again then sing then eat again great now

that you've used your imagination is to

think of something fun to do you won't

be needing a super duper cooker anymore

I know since we can think of our own

ideas I imagine the idea cookers ready

for the recycling haha now that's what I

call using your imagination let's

celebrate our imaginations with a song

a long long time ago a friend said he'd

like to know how ideas come to me so

easily they flow so you want ideas

flowing through your head you need

inspiration for imagination that is what

I say

you can see all you can hear gives you

ideas to last a year lose your sense of

smell taste feeling ideas will ride

I love the sight of a big old tree the

sounds of a buzzing honey bee

inspiration is everywhere you can even

smell it in the air

get coloring here you come up scope I

Color The Box

saw how all of those party favors came

out of the box when you're drawing came

to life pap yeah there were quite a few

of them weren't there do you know how

many balloons can fit into an empty box

no I don't Elmer how many balloons can

you fit in an empty box just one after

that it isn't an empty box anymore Oh

Elmer Oh Elmer if you have your crayons

or your colored markers you can use your

imagination to choose which colors you

use and let's see I think I'll color the

Box in this drawing pink what color will

you choose that's a great idea too ok

here we go i am using pink for my box

and I'm sure the color that you chose

for your box will be just as good as

Pappy's

and

notice how Pappy is not coloring in the

bow here he wants to color that in later

so I'm coloring around it just like this

and filling in that area next to the

bowl now I'll skip over the bowl here

and here's the other part of the box

there we go that looks very nice okay

hmm

now let's do the top test like this

being careful not to color in the bowl

that's crisscrossing here right on the

top air very nice okay I'll call it a

bowl later i think i'm going to start

calling our little girl here and i'm

going to use a nice bright green for her

shirt underneath the vest hmm that's a

very nice color too

but if you like you can make her shirt

any color that you'd like very nice hmm

now I think I'll call her her vest

orange and you can put stripes on your

vest you can put polka dots on your vest

you can just have fun and do anything

that's comfortable anything that you'd

like to do feel free because there's no

limitation to your imagination what I

painted a picture of the ocean I thought

about how loud the wave sound how cold

the water feels I'll salty the water

tastes how fishy the seaweed smells and

how pretty the seashore looks you used

all five of your senses very good binky

if everyone uses their five senses won't

all the ideas be the same everyone

smells tastes listens sees feels and

thinks differently that makes all ideas

special that's true I love the taste of

water and I love the taste of pink

lemonade cuz it's pink of course

they're these two colors go very nice

together

okay i'm going to choose another color

for her skirt and I think oh let's see

em well I could use yellow that's a nice

color for this skirt I wonder what color

you chose and we'll fill that right in

yes like so and yeah i think i'm going

to color her sock orange to match her

vest both socks will be orange just like

this I wanted it in she's wearing a

headband and I think I'd like to use

orange for the headband that would look

very nice

all right now I'm ready to call runner

here and i'm going to use brown that

would be a nice color there we go little

at right in like so and just keep

coloring the let right in nice nice like

that good and now I'm going to color her

face very good just like that fill it

right in and I'm being very careful

trying not to color in her glasses there

we go and her leg over here will color

that in nice and neat Pepe's trying to

be as neat as you can and sometimes if

you're making a mistake and go outside

the lines don't worry it's just

important to have fun and enjoy what

you're doing very good hmm i'm going to

use red for the bowl and fill that right

in but i won't fill it in all the way

i'm going to leave a little spot right

here and i'm going to fill that in and

leave a little spot right there and it

kind of looks like a shine on the ribbon

doesn't it and we'll color in the ribbon

like so and we're going to leave a

little line there I'm not going to fill

it all the way in and it just

and i'm going to leave another line and

do you know why I'm leaving that line

that's right it's going to be a shine it

looks like a shine when you do that and

then you just color the rest in like so

good now i think i'm going to put red

sneaks yes like this and that would look

very nice too there well that looks very

nice I love to see what you've done with

your imaginations today boys and girls

will you hold up your pictures now so I

can see them Wow oh boy all of you did

The Hall Of Frames

really well I can see that there's no

limitation to your imaginations do you

know what that sound means it's time to

visit my favorite Museum in all of

pappyland the Hall of frames let's go

and see some of the imaginative drawings

you've sent in

awesome we talked about how ideas come

from everywhere it's so do these

pictures you sent them in from miles and

miles around I keep them here in the

Hall of frames because they're so

special to me so many of you have put

your own ideas into the drawings and I

really intrude like to see that if you'd

like to send in a picture just watch for

the address at the end of the program

remember to include your name your age

and address too
