today my brush could sure use a little

brushing there you go you look really

handsome Binky thanks

papy hi mailbird oh oh boy a letter from

Chucky wood

okay dear py I lost something very

special and it doesn't belong to me I

lost mail Birds mail bird a Chucky lost

your paint set he lost my crayons last

time and didn't find them for a week he

has to learn responsibility to go along

with his creativity hey the bristles in

the paint set are my cousins where did

he put them this is a big crisis what

are you going to do about it Pap well we

better get there right away we can take

the papy scope the py pad Express the

wishing wheel or the much more door

great the much more door love to go with

you papy to find out what happened to my

paint set but my other friends in papy

land are counting on me to deliver their

mail I'd better fly good idea mail Bird

that's the responsible thing to do

soong we've got a job to do let's walk

through the much more door and go help

Chucky find that lost paint set and help

teach him something about

responsibility come on boys and

girls I know I'll never find it never

never never mail bird will be really

sore at me ouch I'll be sore too if

you're not more careful there's

something very strange in the air today

hi buddy uh what's Chucky doing well

Chucky's worried because he borrowed a

paint set for mailbird and now he can't

find it so now he's looking through all

his stuff to find it maybe I can help

hold your fire Chucky it's py would you

come out here oh py I'm glad you're here

I'm in trouble so deep it's deeper than

this hole yes I got your note uh you

lost mab's paint set let's see uh when

did you lose it let me see well it was

the same day I lost your drawing paper

buddy you lost my drawing paper and it

was the same day I lost your crayons py

my cringe you lost my cringe you know

when you borrow something from someone

you're responsible for it sorry buddy

peppy that's okay Chucky first let's

talk about responsibility to help you

understand what it's all about can you

draw us a picture about responsibility

papy great idea buddy that'll help

Chucky

understand I see some of you already

have a piece of paper and something to

draw with if you don't go and get it now

or else you can use your imagination to

draw with that's fun

too alrighty today we're going to draw a

puppy

dog and I'm going to start by drawing

the dog's head right there I'm going to

start out by drawing a circle for his

nose and I like to get my wrist going in

a circular motion whenever I draw a

circle that makes it easier to do a good

Circle by getting your wrist going round

and round

and when you feel good about yourself

and ready to do it just put the point of

the marker

down

good now I'm going to draw the puppy

dog's mouth and I'll start by drawing a

small curved line and I looped it around

like

so now let's draw the bottom of the

puppy's lip just like that

you know having a dog is a very big

responsibility there's so much that you

have to do you have to feed your pet

take care of it keep it

clean and do a lot of things and that

takes a

very

very very responsible person to do

that there we go three hairs on the

dog's head

all right starting right here I'm going

to draw the dog's

ear and bring this

line scoop it around kind of looks like

the letter U and then I'm going to bring

it back around and end it right there

very

good now let's finish the bottom of the

dog's neck

whoops by just bringing this line over

and stopping right there

now do the same thing another line

similar to that same line and just bring

it around like that and

stop good now let's put the dog's eye

and that'll be right here and again I

like to get my wrist going in a circular

motion just like that and when I'm ready

I press the point of my pencil or your

marker or your crayon down there we go

and let's put a dot right there he has a

surprise look on his

face and a small curved line for his

eyebrow now right over

here I'm going to put a curved line

it'll kind of look like a letter

C if you watch see that it looks like

the letter c doesn't it well that kind

of shows that he has puffy cheeks or

he's he's like howling and and that's

how his cheeks would be if the puppy was

howling kind of rounded like that

good now let's show the other ear and

that's just a curve line like so and

stop right

there now starting right here let's

bring this line

around take your

time Bring It Around and

stop starting right here another curve

line and

stop and do do the same and keep going

now bring it straight up like

that there is one paw now let's do the

other one a curve line and

stop another curve line and

stop another curve line and bring it up

high and stop right there

good and let's do the back of the dog by

just putting a curved line right there

good now I'll draw the hind leg we'll

put a curve line just like that

good you know I noticed when I do a

drawing and I get mail I notice that a

lot of the boys and girls like to add

their own ideas and that's special and

it makes their drawing special too for

instance somebody might want to put a

dogghouse in the background right here

and that's adding your own ideas and and

that's what makes drawing fun when you

add your own ideas and you use your

imagination and your drawings start to

look very very creative because you

added all those different ideas that

were all your own ideas and not

papies on this hind leg here we'll put

another paw and that's series of curved

lines like

so now let's do the bottom of the

Paw kind of like a circle almost then

I'm going to dip down in and bring it

around like

that and we'll put a circle

here and a circle there and another

circle now oh did somebody say he needs

a tail right here that's a great idea I

see you're thinking as you're drawing

and that's

important very good now we're going to

draw that tail just like

so very good I'll bet some of you are

putting spots on your dog I can just

tell I can tell when I get that mail the

way you color and the way you draw with

papy you add your own ideas and I

noticed that when I look at the

nail now we're going to just indicate

the ground right here by drawing a

little curve wavy line and we'll stop it

right there like that and let's do the

same thing on the other side and and

that'll show that the puppy looks like

he's he's sitting down on the

ground and we'll start

by bringing that line out and bring it

over and

stop there very good well that about

finishes the drawing of our little

puppy did you know that responsibility

is like learning to draw in color they

all require lots of practice so keep

practicing your drawing and your

responsibilities too I'd like to give

that puppy a great big bear

hug pets are lots of fun and they give

us lots of love but we need to take care

of our pets and be resp responsible for

them how do you do that let's ask the

picture picture show us something about

responsibility oh boy am I

hungry oh here here comes some food now

I think there you go little fell a nice

bowl of cow looks o got to go o oops you

had an accident I'll clean it up well

taking care of you is a part of my

responsibility thank

you wow taking care of a pet is a lot of

responsibility yep it's work just like

not losing things you borrow and taking

good care of them you're absolutely

right and now that you know so much

about responsibility how about a song

now I remember last week I was painting

and coloring the sunset under the tree

and then I went to play Checkers with

Turtle L and I left everything but next

time I'll be more responsible py now

that I know more about it that's good

Chucky now that I'm finished with my

responsibilities Chucky can I help you

finish your Sunset picture sure

that'd be fun mailbird well boys and

girls now it looks like a good time to

go back to the cabin to color see you

responsibility today that's right Elmer

he lost mail Bird's pink set because he

wasn't responsible about keeping track

of it but he's going to do a better job

next time I take care of all my stuff

even my books oh really yeah and all my

books of the same color too they are and

what color are all of your books why

they're all red of course that's because

I've read them all that's funny I read a

lot of books too well you'd better red

green and blue and yellow that picture

you drew the kids are waiting so get to

it

Dru oh Almer do you have your markers or

your crayons ready I see that Lots if

you do let's get

coloring all righty I'm going to choose

a bright bright orange

crayon for the

puppy and I'm sure that a lot of you

chose your own favorite

color and I like it when

everybody chooses a different color that

shows a lot of imagination and

creativity and it makes coloring a lot

of

fun all

righty fill in this

there we

relax and fill it

go and we go this

way and I'm going to change directions

and go that

way very nice

puppy looks

cute he has very large

ears I see that some of you chose purple

for your dog

good good

choice and I like that yellow one

too okay whoops thaty broke a cray but

don't worry just continue

coloring when I'm done done with my

pictures I always put my pencils and

crayons

away and it helps keep

the your desk nice and

neat and your crayons and your materials

don't get on the on the floor where

somebody can step on

them

yes coloring is so much

fun I just love the color especially

with you boys and girls

else there we

go and we'll just

continue I'm using wider Strokes broader

Strokes to fill in this large area

see okay I just want

to

continue There we go

and we'll finish one of the paws here

that big big paws this dog has makes me

laugh there we go oh the

tail we'll fill that

in very nice do the other

ear there now I'll do the bottom of his

paw like

[Music]

so and I'm just going to take my time

and fill that

in like

so there we

go all

righty oh did somebody say we need to

color in the puppy's nose it's a good

idea

I'm going to use my black

cray I believe that's the black cray

sometimes the blue cray and the black

cran look the

same there we

go now watch what papy does here he's

not going to fill it in all the

way he's going to leave a little circle

right near the end

and by leaving this little area

white it appears to make the puppy's

nose

shiny like it's

wet like he just drank some water there

we

go when you're all done with your

drawing and coloring and have added all

your own ideas I'd like you to think of

a name for your picture that's called

giving get a title can you think of a

great title I've got an idea the puppy

was funny so I'd like to call it the

puppies had made me

laugh that's the idea now I can't wait

to see what the children make up I'll

bet you have lots of interesting ideas

for a title try making up a title no one

else would think

of all righty let's see now the dog is

wearing a collar and hm about

red oo that looks very nice I'll color

that

in very

nice take your time you're doing a

wonderful job

everybody there o the bottom of his paw

would

be my next thing I'd like to color and I

think I'll use this bright orange

crayon oo look at that

that so many colors to choose

from

okay all

righty and I'll

just let's use this

brown kind of a red

Brown for the the bottom

of the floor the ground or wherever the

puppy's standing if you use green he

could be on the lawn or out in the

country there we

go well that looks

nice can I see your drawings now will

you hold them up Nation High wow what

papic pictures if you want to send me a

picture just look for the address at the

end of the program make sure you put

your name and age and address on it and

maybe you'll see it in the Hall of

Frames did I hear somebody say Hall of

Frames welcome back from your nap buddy

would you like to go to the Hall of

wowe the hall oframe is so colorful I

feel like I'm inside my paint box it

reminds me of a rainbow it's so

beautiful here it sure is buddy let's

been adding their own special ideas to
