Elmer happy I have news for you what's

that Belle your cousin snacker Jack has

just arrived for a visit to papy land

snacker Jack is he still eating all that

junk

food gosh I don't know grandpappy let's

check out the papy scope and find out

what snacker is

doing down

scope ah I think I'm on his

there he is I see him now yep that's

snacker Jack all

right snacker Jack is he always eaten so

much snack food as far back as I can

remember as sometimes he would eat so

many snacks he wasn't even hungry at

supper time all he really liked to eat

were chips and soda and candy bars and

ice cream I don't think he's changed his

habits much py I'm afraid you're right

but I think it's time to give him a

proper greeting to papy land hello

snacker Jack is that you cousin py it

sure is cousin welcome to papy land the

boys and girls and I are going to head

over and see you take your time p uh I

don't seem to have much energy today I

think I'll take a nap over here by this

big old tree hey I like this guy's style

he sleeps almost as much as I do oh

Elmer come on girls and boys let's pop

hear that snoring boys and girls I was

right on his track hi Woody I see you've

met my cousin snacker he's your cousin

snacker snack did I hear somebody say

snack uh no Jack I was telling woody

woody who's Woody I am the tree you're

leaning against man I talking tree Pap

papy land sure is different from the

city tell me my man does everybody eat

the kind of food you eat in the big city

uh no it's my unique diet I like today I

had barbecued potato chips peanut butter

cups and a couple of bags of red

liquers come to think of it my stomach

kind of

hurs I can't understand it yuck snacker

your stomach hurts because of all that

junk food you've been eating I think a

drawing will help explain what I

mean oh boy

snacker boys and girls get your pens and

your pencils ready because we're going

to draw a special picture for snacker

Jack about eating healthy

snacks okay let's

begin I'm going to

[Music]

draw an

ear and it looks like like

that

and then I'm going to draw a curved line

and bring it

around and back

up this is going to be a

kangaroo a mama

kangaroo and that's one ear and this is

her

hair and let's draw the other ear right

here and around and stop

starting right here bring this line

over and stop now let's draw the shape

of the kangaroo's

head and that's a curved

line bring it around and

stop and right

here bring that line down and stop now

we have an area for the nose right

there so let's do it put the round

oval right

there now let's bring this line

up just like

so to show a smile and again a curve

line for her

cheeks and one dot for one eye and

another dot for the other

eye here's some food for thought

try drawing coloring or painting to

music sometimes uh put on a special

piece of music that you like and really

listen to it then while the music is

playing paint or draw how the music

makes you feel you can try this with

different types of music you'll be

surprised at how much music can Inspire

your

artwork let's

continue let's draw one curve line there

another curve line

and starting right here at the bottom of

the kangaroo's head we'll bring another

curv line right

there good now let's draw the kangaroo's

hand a looping line right

there a curve line connect it there and

another one those are the mama

kangaroo's

fingers bring that

down curve line right

there and bring it back and stop

now let's draw her other hand and that

is curve

line

and just a small curved line right

there and bring this line around and

another curved line it looks like she's

holding

something and I'll show you what that is

right now so let's draw a straight line

right

here and one next to it now let's just

put a circle right

there can you can you see what what that

is boys and girls some of youve guessed

already that's right it's it's the top

of a

pan there's a pan she's cooking

something on the

stove and this is the pan that

she's using good now let's draw a curve

line

here and continue it there and this will

be her

back now let's connect

it there we go now I'm going to put a

straight line right there and stop now

right at this

point come straight

down

good right bring this

over and stop right there let's show the

top of the

stove by drawing a straight line right

to the corner and stop bring this over

and stop right there good now let's draw

a curved line right underneath the

pan that'll

show the burner that she's cooking

on now she's wearing an apron so I'm

going to draw that

next draw a small circle

there bring this

around and there's one part of the the

knot or the tie where she tied her apron

back and put another curve line there

good now I'm going to bring this line

right down here this is the apron strap

and we'll bring that around nice and

slow

and connect it

there now let's draw the kangaroo's

tail she has a long tail and bring it

up bring this line

down let's draw the mama kangaroo's

foot Bring It

Around we get ready for one toe there's

one

toe another

one and another one bring it around and

stop right

there now let's put some fly frilly

detail right around this

apron these are

some little frilly

effect some very nice decorative trim

around the

apron

and let's continue

here and just

show there's some openings and the

detail around the

apron there we

go and we'll put one line

here how is your kangaroo coming along

great I hope have you noticed that papy

is drawing more and more animals lately

that's because so many girls and boys

have sent me letters asking for more

animal drawings I really like drawing

animals too you

know and we'll finish the drawing we'll

put one line there a curve line right

there and that's the other foot next to

that

foot there and that finishes our drawing

of a mother

kangaroo B well hello turo what are you

doing I just a picked some nice fresh

tomatoes for my magnificent pasta that's

good eating Turtle tomatoes are high in

vitamin C and pasta has good complex

carbohydrates and it taste a good too

papy you know that actually sounds

pretty good to eat little guy you know

papy you were right and anything can

happen to papyan push a talking tree and

now a talking title all my pals and

papyan talk snacker and they all eat

healthy foods too Chow Turtle a healthy

an apple from my Branch

even better than peppermint

just and there's an orange and we'll

just uh how about coloring that

in there we

Radical hello everyone it's great to be

back have you heard the news about

snacker Jack and here here's a py land

update snacker Jack is eating the right

snacks is taking a healthy walk and

feeling much better after learning about

good eating from Peppy Boy news sure

travels fast in papy land does this mean

snacker to say no to donuts and yes to

fresh water and fruit juices to drink

and to skipping chips that's right g*ng

one more question Pap what's that Elmer

how can I get my hands on some of those

pepper

pretzels oh Elmer come on boys and girls

let's color our

picture all right here's a very nice

color and

we fill it right in like

[Music]

that

I can almost smell the popcorn

[Music]

cooking that's a very nice

color very

nice all right now we have to color in

this very

very very large area over here has to be

colored in so I'm using this side of my

cray like so holding it on the

side and I'm filling it right

in that's like

that and the

[Music]

tail there we

go

and now let's work our way down like

that and again I'm using the side of my

crayon like

that you can go in this circular motion

see how that works circular motion or

you can go straight across back and

forth back and forth like this

finish this part

here a little kangaroo in our drawing

just love the popcorn snack is mom made

can you think of other healthy

snacks there's celery there's oranges

bananas and all kinds of fruit Right

girls and

I'm going to leave a

space I'm going to leave a space for

another color and I choose this color

here we'll just color that in nice

oh and maybe a brown

color or the mama kangaroo's hair like

that and

and I think I'll just leave a little

white

spot kind of makes the hair look

shiny H how about a blue

nose that's using my

imagination are you thinking of what you

might add to your picture later I think

I would add a window py and I'd add a

clock in the kitchen and I'd had a big

bag of peppermint pretzels waiting on

the

counter waiting for what Elmer waiting

for me to come in and eat them what else

I guess I'll have to draw me into the

picture too

then drawing yourself into the picture

is a clever idea Elmer I know the boys

and girls will come up with lots of

other ideas

too all

righty now let's color them Mama

okay oh that looks very

nice I'm having fun with this picture I

hope you're having fun too calling along

with

me I love it when we spend time together

in

color there we go

and I think I think I'll leave this area

white and I'm going to choose blue for

the

pan just like

that now again I'm going to leave a

little space

here that's right and it makes did

somebody say a shine that's right it

makes the pan look shiny and we can do

the same thing on the top

of the lid like

this there we

and we'll

just put a little red and maybe

that's the color of the top of the stove

be careful that's very

hot and I think I'll choose this color

for the

side there we go

I'm really

loose and we'll just color that in like

that pressing

down

okay let me just indicate

something oh right here on the

floor that

just just about finish up our picture

very

nice
