16x14 - Bering Sea Crash

Post by bunniefuu »

I am soaked down to my ba*ls.

A low-pressure front's
moving through,

So this has been a long haul.

I've been running on adrenaline
here in the last umpteen hours.

I'm half-a*s delirious.

I got up at 8:00 in the morning
two days ago.

I made it this long.

[ Speaks indistinctly ]

Oh, yeah.
I got that one.

Whoo!

Hey, bill.

Hey, bill.

-Wow. [Bleep]
-watch out!

-Ah!
-Down!

Man:
get the [bleep] down!

Captions paid for by
discovery communications

Narrator: 340 miles northwest
of dutch harbor...

...on the summer bay...

Man: oh!

How about that wave?
Did you see that one?

Not really.

Sorry, boys.
I really apologize.

[Bleep] probably should have
hit the horn.

I never have green water
on deck.

[Bleep]

Narrator:
in pursuit of the biomass,

Captain "wild bill" wichrowski
and crew work

For a daunting 48 hours straight

In the southern reaches
of a low-pressure system

Dubbed "the b*mb cyclone"...

-Get down!
-...until coming face-to-face...

Man: watch out!

Narrator:
...with a 25-foot rogue wave.

That wave came out of nowhere,
just in water.

"Auuggggh!"

No time to take a breath.

We were standing by.
I turn around.

There's a huge wall of water
coming right at me.

Just put my head down.
That's all you can do.

Man: oh!

Bill: so that's what will
break deck boards,

Bend launchers, tables,

Run, smash guys into
the opposing wall,

Knock guys up and over
sometimes,

Just wash them right off
the other side.

I had to hold my breath,
actually, 'cause that --

It wasn't a spray.
It was a "whoosh!"

David: I got baptized by
the bering sea.

I'm really sorry, guys.
I don't do that [bleep]

Just gotta settle down
and get through it.

You know, we take a big peeler
over the side,

Get right back at it.
It's just part of the business.

Man. Nothing.

Bill: slowly falling off.
That's not why we're here.

Narrator: as the southern gear
peters out...

Bill: we get these up,
and then we're out of here.

Northwest sounds like there
might be some cleaner fishing.

Narrator: ...captain wild bill
pulls his final pots,

Banking on deeper
northern waters

To provide his remaining

166,000 Pounds of opilio quota.

Wherever they're hiding,
they're hiding good.

But we're coming for them.

Well, these guys know how
to haul and stack the gear.

Next time, we're gonna
try it with some crab in it.

Narrator: 120 miles north,

In the teeth
of the b*mb cyclone...

Oh, [bleep]

...on the cornelia marie...

Oh!

All: oh!

Not very pleasant
to be out here right now.

Ah!

Goose egg. [Bleep]
that sucks.

Narrator: ...captain josh harris
and casey mcmanus

Bear witness to a hot spot
turned cold.

D.j.: Yeah, it really died off
around here.

A couple days ago,
we were on 200 to 300,

But all of a sudden,
it's nothing.

These crab --
they have moved.

Narrator: the question --
where are the opilio going now?

I've seen a couple of boats
now have moved out

Of the area for
four or five days,

So I think there's a school
up north that we can tap into.

Well, we could be
running off the crab.

And that's always
the scary part.

We don't know.

Yeah, anything's possible
in the ocean.

I mean, it could be a school
coming in, coming out.

They could be hunkered down.
They could be off the bite.

They could be coming in
from [bleep] spaceships.

I mean, [bleep], we don't really
know what the hell's going on,

But going north.

Got to be something.

I don't think
we should run yet.

Maybe they just hunkered
down, went off the bite.

Maybe,
but I don't think so.

Narrator:
casey suspects the crab are
burrowed into the sea floor,

Taking shelter from the storm's
violent currents,

And will reemerge
when the weather passes...

You want to gamble
by taking these north?

I want to take
some north, yeah.

...while josh thinks the crab
are on the march,

Heading straight towards
russian territory.

Ugh!

Okay, well,
I don't really want to

Split our gear up
in two groups,

But we could send
a little research string.

You know what I mean?
And then keep heading south.

Okay, I like that.

The captains' plan?
Compromise.

Casey will reset
the bulk of the gear

In their current location...

This is a rollback string.

...while josh will take
his pots

To northern latitudes
in search of better fishing.

I like to stick and stay
and really read the gear

And do things methodically.

And josh likes to fly
by the seat of his pants.

I'll let you take her,
buddy,

'Cause I have got to go have
expl*sive diarrhea.

[ Laughter ]

[ Flatulence ]

-Oh.
-I can hear you!

Yeah!

Casey's sending a little

Mini string up there
to go experiment with.

But...
I don't know.

This is my season to run,

And I give us
a sneaky string.

We got pots on deck,
and I intend to use all of them.

I suppose if he finds out
that I'm doing this,

He'll try to stop me
'cause it may b*mb out.

But I may nail it, too.

I mean, I don't even know
what's gonna happen.

So [bleep] it.
I'm doing it.

I don't care what he thinks.

I have that feeling
in the loins,

The harris luck.

Been saving it all year
for this moment right now.

Narrator:
40 miles northeast...

Scott: there's gonna be
a slow go today.

Narrator:
...on the lady alaska...

Scott: all right, you guys
aren't gonna like this,

But the reality is, is we've got
damn near as much ice

Back on the boat as we had
when we cleaned it off.

But if we wouldn't have
cleaned it off,

It would be unmanageable.

Well, let's get our --
get some coffee,

Get something to eat,
and let's get out there

And get this ice cleaned up.

Narrator: ...enveloped in nearly
a foot of ice...

Why don't we...

Oh, my god.
It's a nightmare out here.

...captain scott campbell jr.
Orders his crew

To cleave every frozen ounce
off the boat's surface

To ensure the vessel's stability
ahead of the day's haul.

Gonna be a slow go
with this ice.

Got more ice on the boat today
that we did yesterday.

Scott: I'm a half a million
dollars in debt.

Going through the bills,
we're worse than we thought.

Narrator: sliding deeper into
the red than anticipated...

Nobody's fished
this shallow before.

You know, this could be
a big bust,

Or it could be
a huge opportunity.

Narrator: ...the skipper rolls
the dice, betting his boat

And his family business

On these northeastern
opilio grounds.

You know what?
I prayed last night, man.

I said, "hey, you know what?
Keep us safe."

Yeah.

You know, I don't say that
very much, man.

Nope.

We're just about up to
the first pot here.

Coming up.

I don't take safe bets,
never have.

If I were to take a safe bet,

I would have never
bought this boat.

-Here we go!
-First pot!

Bottom line is,
I've got to gamble.

I've got to find
a big load of crab.

Says this place hasn't been
fished for a while,

So, you know it's...

If we can get a 300 average,
it'll only take us four days

To get the crab that we need.

That's what we need.
We need a 300 average.

300 Average or better.

Come on, crabby, crabby, crabby.

-Oh, ouch.
-No!

-That's ugly.
-Oh, my god.

Not too good.

Don't worry about
the table.

Blinkety-blink.

Stack 'em.

This string is, uh,
gonna suck

'Cause it's set too shallow.

I need more crab than that.
We need a lot more than that.

I can't afford
to waste any time.

I got to slam this one on.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Damn.

[ Indistinct shouting ]

-Agh!
-Whoa!

You all right?

Are you all right, man?

Narrator:
on the lady alaska...

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Damn.

[ Indistinct shouting ]

-Agh!
-Whoa!

Ah!

You all right?

Dude, you all right, man?

Ah, [bleep]

[ Speaks indistinctly ]

Scott: hey, everybody all right
down there?

Ahhh! [Bleep]

I was helping --
dude, I tried to brace.

And [bleep] threw me
across the floor peak.

And all I could think of was,
dude, [bleep] mac is out there.

He's still [bleep] out there.

And I turned, and he was just
leaning over the [bleep] table.

I knew he got smoked.

Narrator: a towering wave
slams the bough,

Propelling a 25-pound chunk
of jagged ice off the rail...

-Agh!
-Whoa!

...and into the back of
55-year-old deckhand mac white.

Agh!

It's like getting hit the back
with a baseball, full-speed.

Mac, you all right?

It hurts, but...

He's a tough old boy,
tell you what.

Max's taken a lot of abuse.

I'm gonna run downstairs
real quick,

Get the weather
on the port side here.

Then I'm gonna go check on him.

Let me see it.
-Yeah, it's just...

Just right in there --
is that where it is?

-All right there.
-Ah, yeah.

That's just right
on those shoulder blades.

You got those tendons
right there

That get pretty tender.

I feel like I got
a charlie horse in my arm.

Yep, and that's your muscles
tightening up 'cause,

You know, they've got inflamed,
so hydration.

I can't stress that enough.

Just take it easy.

If I was in youth again,
I'd bounce right back.

Oh, yeah. It just takes a little
longer as we get older.

Just take your time.

All right.

Narrator: with mac recovering
from blunt-force trauma...

Never-ending, man.
We got the boat working now.

Now we got the crew
that's all boogered up.

Okay, coming up.

Narrator: ...junior gives
the order to move forward,

Uncertain how long
they'll be shorthanded.

Scott: right now, this costs me
time and money

Because I can't get this gear up
as fast as I need to get it up.

He's hurting, but is he gonna
be able to keep working?

I don't know. We're just gonna
to take one string at a time,

See how the day goes here.

Hopefully around daylight,
go out there doing his job.

I mean, that's all we can do.

All we can do
in this situation.

Narrator:
80 miles northwest

In the northern heart
of the b*mb cyclone...

Josh: it's gonna be a painful,
long night.

Narrator:
...on the cornelia marie...

Josh: I'm gonna set this off
going north.

Still looks pretty calculated.

I've seen a couple boats, and
they haven't moved

Out of that area,
so I'm gonna check it out.

Good to go?
-Good to go, boss!

-All right, let's do it, buddy.
-Roger.

Josh: what's that?

A bit.

Narrator: with no faith
in captain casey's

Set 60 miles south,

Captain josh splashes down a
string of his own to the north,

Hoping the crab are not hiding,

But marching toward the opilio
grounds' upper latitudes.

Now, I want casey to go to bed

So I can set this
monster string out

'Cause I know
he's gonna interject.

He can't tell me not to,
but he's gonna be pissy.

I just prefer him
to wake up to it.

Narrator: realizing the key
to a good partnership

Is communicating as little
as possible to avoid a fight,

Josh neglects to tell casey
that he plans to expand

The scale
of their northern mission.

Every time that I get a massive
load of pots on

And fishing seems to be down,
I always do something

That I know he doesn't
want me to do,

And that's I set them all off
in one big giant string.

[ Indistinct talking ]

He knew something was
gonna be up today.

But I don't give a [bleep]

He asked me how many more bags
I'm gonna be setting,

And he just keeps hovering
over here,

Like he was tipped off

Or he was spying
and heard me talking about it.

We'll see.

But it's snowy.

It's supposed to start
warming up a little bit.

I think on monday,
it's gonna turn

To dog [bleep] again
with the northeast.

So we're just kind of getting
everything set up accordingly.

Narrator: all josh needs to
enact his scheme?

A wheelhouse casey-free.

Just take a nice, hot shower,
dude,

Clear out the sinuses
and [bleep],

Get a little nap-ski in.

Probably start at like
7:00 or 8:00 in the morning,

Depending on what time
I finish up with this.

[ Beep ]

[Bleep] snowy [bleep]

-[ Laughs ]
-god.

[ Indistinct talking ]

Good night.

Narrator:
with casey down for the night

Thinking they're setting
just 17 pots...

Josh: we've got two tanks
left to fill.

So what's 40 parts, 60 pots?

Narrator: ...josh prepares to
set four times that amount.

So raise your hand if you want
to piss casey off.

[ Laughs ]
yeah, it's okay.

You can raise your hand.
He's not up here.

Yeah! So we're gonna just
set them all off in a line,

This giant line,
so be prepared.

You know, we got two captains
up there in the wheelhouse.

Sometimes they don't like
what each other do,

But ultimately, we got to trust
their fish-tuition

And go with it.

[ Beep ]

This may work.
This may not work.

I do not know.

Narrator: 110 miles southwest,

On the summer bay...

I'm [bleep] worn out
and burned out

And took an hour, maybe
an hour-and-20-minute nap.

I slept two hours
the day before,

So I feel like crap.

Narrator: his self-imposed
grind still under way...

Bill: just kind of moving these
things up the hill a little bit

To the northwest.

Narrator: ...captain wild bill
pushes into the colder,

Deeper waters
towards the russian line.

Looks like we're in
a pretty decent spot here.

All right, guys,
let's fling it.

Yeah, buddy!
Getting our gear in the water.

Hopefully find some
better numbers up here.

Whoo-hoo! Yeah!

I mean, I've got a handle
on a grind here.

We're this close to starting
to make some money.

Man: ah!
[ Laughs ]

-Ah!
-Oh, you got to be kidding.

What happened?

Smacked my [bleep] ankle.

-Which foot?
-My left, left.

Narrator:
on the summer bay...

We're this close to starting
to make some money.

Mahlon: ow! [Bleep]

Ah!

Man: hey, bill,
something's wrong with mahlon.

What happened?

Smacked my [bleep] ankle.

-Which foot?
-My left, left.

-Smacked your ankle?
-Yeah.

Put all your weight
on the other, okay?

Yeah, get him in the galley.

Let's get you inside.

Oh, [bleep]

-Got you.
-[Bleep]

Narrator: ...while straining
to push a pot,

Captain wild bill's 38-year-old
deckhand mahlon reyes

Injures his left leg,
bringing production to a halt.

Anything --
get anything out of the way.

Trash can.
All right, I got you.

-Can we set him down for me?
-Okay, here.

Ah.

What did we do?

I don't know.
I feel like somebody hit me

In the back of the leg
with, like, a [bleep] crowbar.

And it just, like, popped.

-It wasn't a cramp, huh?
-No.

There's no motion, no pointing
of the toe or any of that.

You're not able to do that?

No, I can't.

Your toe or something?

Pulled something
really bad?

Let's get him out of his gear,
in his rack,

Iced, elevated.

Gonna get him stabilized.

Narrator: for now,
bill hopes ice and rest

Will help the swelling

And get mahlon back
in fighting shape.

Bill: I kind of that we're gonna
be in a situation where

We'd be pulling 5,000 pounds
of string.

Timing's right.

Soak's working out perfect.

Narrator: without his well-oiled
five-man deck,

Bill can only hope his crew
can finish their 150-pot set

In the far north short-handed.

This job will test you, man.

Sucks. Now those guys are
four-manning it.

And it's, like, I can't help
but, like,

Feel that it's my fault.

Well, you're gonna be
moving up here,

And you're gonna have
more responsibility here

Due to this
unfortunate event.

Like I said, I'm up for whatever
you guys need me to do.

Bill: we're on a grind.
This isn't four-man stuff.

But I don't know what else
I can do.

Yeah, let it go.
-Nice and safe, everybody.

Four-man crew.

Back this way.

A guy down,
a talented guy down.

I sure can't afford
to miss a beat.

Narrator:
125 miles northeast...

Josh:
the start of a new day today.

Narrator:
...on the cornelia marie...

Casey's convinced
crabs are off the bite.

I think we sucked them up.

That's just me.

You know, to each your own.

Narrator: ...after
captain josh harris went rogue,

Setting a long prospect string
in the far north...

-This is the first pot?
-Yep.

I'll let you take over, then.

...captain casey prepares to
haul his setback string

Back on the southern grounds.

Casey:
you put 40 up there?

Uh...

Eh, something like that.

Despite josh keeping it
a secret,

The plotter doesn't lie...

Holy [bleep]

Narrator: ...revealing to casey
a harris super set up above.

Yeah, josh ran
a man k*ller on that.

That's the first time I zoomed
in and looked at that.

Holy [bleep]
let's see.

Here's all the gear casey set,
all this color in here, right?

Brrrrrt!
All real tight and nasty.

Here's josh.
Whoo-hoo-hoo!

Casey: you wasted
a third of our stack.

We might not have
wasted it.

You're right. You're right.
We don't know that yet.

I'm just 90% sure
you're not really

In the thick of things.

You want to make a bet?

The ol' wager on
whose luck's better?

What's our wager
gonna be on our bet?

Well, I don't know.

Whatever you don't feel like
you want to do, buddy.

Our head's about ready to be
scrubbed from top to bottom.

What do you say
loser has to clean our head...

With their toothbrush?
With their toothbrush?

Military style --
every groove, nook, and cranny.

-All right.
-Done.

Bet your a*s.

Narrator: with pride on the line
and the loser

Shamefully scrubbing the ship's
bathroom to a shine...

Okay, you guys ready?

...the contest begins
with casey.

I think the crab are maybe

Starting to come back
on the bite.

Weather died down
a little bit,

So now they may be coming out,
and they might be really hungry.

I'm gonna be either in
the penthouse to the outhouse.

So the first one's
coming up now.

Narrator:
on the cornelia marie...

Casey:
okay, you guys ready?

...after betting on whose pots
will hit the jackpot...

...it's time to see
what casey's holding.

I think the crab are maybe

Starting to come back
on the bite.

Weather died down
a little bit.

Now they might be coming out,
and they might be really hungry.

[ Cheering ]

-Oh, yeah.
-Whoa! Oh, yeah.

-That's a dandy right there.
-Oh, yeah!

Wow!
That's a big pot, too.

-Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!
-There we go.

There we go. Nice pot.
-Look at that.

Three-one-five.

Take that to the bank,
I guess.

Wow.

Oh, yeah!
[ Laughs ]

That's a nice pot, too.

You're on to something
down here.

Narrator:
casey's fish-tuition pays off...

These are tough numbers
to beat.

...leaving josh with nothing
but a string and a prayer.

I just had to go
put deodorant on

'Cause I'm starting
to sweat right now.

In the northwestern reach
of the b*mb cyclone...

Bill: he said it was like
somebody hit him

In the back of the leg
with a ball bat

Or something, you know?

Narrator:
...on the summer bay...

Woman: you lay him
on his stomach

And have him hang his foot over
the side of something.

And then just feel down
the back of the ankle

And see if there's a divot?

Yeah.

Yeah, we'll give it a try.

Narrator: 24 hours after
deckhand mahlon reyes

Injured his left leg
straining to push a pot,

Captain wild bill consults
a medical professional

225 Miles away.

All right.
Thanks for the help.

Talk to you soon.
Bye.

Sorry.

Yeah, that one's good.

Why don't you wrap it up
and come on in for a little bit?

Roger.

Bill: with it severed, achilles,
your foot will hang down flat

Like a limp fish.

Narrator: after allowing
ample time for bed rest...

With it torn, it could feel
like that it could be tendons

On the side of your ankle
that might have ripped let go.

...dr. Wild bill uses
his newfound knowledge

To diagnose whether
his patient's achilles

Is completely severed
or partially torn.

The thing to do is lay
on your belly

And then feel down the good --
back of the good ankle,

Feel what that tendon
feels like,

And then feel the bad one
and see if you can

See and feel a difference
on the back of it.

Can you roll over
on your gut?

[ Groans ]

Ooh.

-Sorry, man.
-That's all right.

[ Exhales ]

You know what, we're not --
we're spinning wheels.

We're gonna go in.

Narrator: with the injury
still too painful to even test,

The trip is brought
to an unexpected end.

And bill must now rush mahlon
to shore

For immediate medical attention.

Sweet.
So I cost everybody money.

I will tell you right now
we all love you.

Don't worry.
It's not your fault, man.

It's not your fault.
It's gonna be okay.

We're gonna
get through it.

Narrator:
at a time when he hoped to be
making up for poor fishing,

Wild bill leaves good weather
and a load of soaking pots

For the 22-hour steam
to st. Paul island.

Bill: not to be selfish,
but now we're gonna have this

Extended period away from
the gear again,

Start [bleep] all over.

This one's right in the keister.

Narrator: 120 miles east...

New string, new hope.

Narrator:
...on the lady alaska...

We're just gonna zigzag
all the way down south

Till we run out of b*ll*ts.

We're up at the pinnacle,
working away to the rock pile.

We gotta get these pots off.

Narrator:
after failing to find crab
in the northeastern shallows...

Scott: you know, the pinnacle's
always been a producer for me,

Always.

Can't imagine it's gonna be
any different this year.

Narrator:
...captain scott campbell jr.

Arrives at his favorite
fishing hole

60 Miles southwest
of his last haul.

Scott: what we need right now
is fast fishing.

We spent $2.5 million
on the boat,

Put another half a million
dollars into it

That we were not expecting
just to get it out here.

And we've just had piss-poor
fishing, breakdowns,

You know,
just issue after issue.

So I'm really hoping that we can
just start digging our way out.

Okay. One, two, three.
Let her go.

Roger, roger!

Ahhh!
[ Laughs ]

Junior's put a lot of money
into this boat.

He's put a lot of time.

The whole family operation
is just

Trying to keep this boat going.

Narrator: with a mammoth
shipyard debt

Looming on the horizon,

For scott campbell jr.,
Failure is not an option...

This one's gonna take a while
to set up

'Cause we're shorthanded.

Narrator: ...even if
he and the crew are down

Veteran deckhand mac white.

Mac got hit by some ice.

We had a big wave
come over the bough,

And there's some loose ice
up there,

And lifted the ice,
and it came down

And hit him on the back.

It was frickin' crazy.

Right now,
I'm [bleep] struggling, man.

It's affecting, you know,
the amount of pots

That we can set.
And I'm running out of time.

Hopefully we can just get
some pounds aboard

And keep this boat going.

All right, let her go.

[ Indistinct shouting ]

We got injured crew.

Long as we can just kind of
keep making headway.

Let her go.

There goes mac, back out.

[Bleep] tough old boy.

That guy doesn't have
any quit in him.

Mac is tough as they come.

[ Indistinct talking ]

Sore.

Ready to rock 'n' roll
again.

You know,
that's the old-school mentality.

You just don't see that anymore.

Man: going over!

Here we are.

Narrator:
80 miles northwest...

Josh: hopefully
we find something.

Hoping and praying.

...on the cornelia marie...

About to smoke you
here in a second.

[ Gibberish ]

Better come up with
some good [bleep] commentary,

'Cause I'll tell you what...
[ Gibberish ]

Yeah. That's just the sound
of defeat is what that is.

You're laying down
an rolling over.

[Bleep]

And I'm taking it
like a man.

...after captain casey pulled
monster pots to the south...

Hopefully my rebuttal string
has got something in it.

Pot's coming up right now.

...captain josh looks
to his northern set

To out-perform his partner

And avoid bowing down
to the porcelain throne.

Yeah, I'm hoping for
some high numbers here.

We'll see what happens.

Fingers crossed.

My prediction is josh is gonna
be on his hands and knees

In a pair of rubber gloves,

Some safety glasses
and face mask

And a toothbrush in hand.

Moment of truth.

Come on, baby!

-Oh!
-[ Laughs ]

Narrator:
this week on "salty takes"...

I cannot wait to get home
and get a haircut

Narrator: ...while a werewolf
appears under a full moon,

Time on the bering sea

Can unleash its cousin,
the hair wolf.

Just every day, it just gets...

Little poufy, bigger.

Probably start curling it here
pretty quick.

[ Laughs ]

Oh, [bleep]

Oh, I don't got anybody out here
to impress anyway,

So why do I care?

Narrator: ah-oooh!

Did you know
that the lichen society

Is making a resurgence
in alaska?

I'm kidding. They're not.
Sorry, junior.

Narrator:
on the cornelia marie...

Casey: my prediction is josh is
gonna be on his hands and knees

In pair of rubber gloves,

Some safety glasses,
a face mask,

And a toothbrush.

...captain josh hopes
huge pots save him

From paying a dastardly debt
to partner casey.

Moment of truth.

Come on, baby!

-Oh!
-Nice and dirty.

[ Laughs ]

Ah!

Oh.
Not looking good.

Not looking good at all.

Ooh, strain some seawater
with that bad boy, huh?

Yep. We ain't gonna win the bet
fishing like that.

There was nothing in it,
not even a snail.

Not a good start.

I'm gonna use
my toothbrush on my teeth.

[ Laughs ]

Pot number two
coming up!

Let's see
how this one does, buddy.

First pot's usually
the wire.

Second block coming up.

Hopefully it has
more than zero.

There's nowhere to go
but up from here.

[Bleep]

-Ah!
-Ooh.

[Bleep] me running.

[ Laughs ]

Oh!

It's about 1,000% better
than the last pot.

[ Laughs ]

We went from having zero crab
to having four crab.

Gonna record that one
for a zero.

That is a zero.

And there is no [bleep] way
I catch casey's number.

Narrator: instead of casey's
300-crab-per-pot average,

Josh pulls in an average of one,

Landing his gambit,
and the captain himself,

In the toilet.

That was a no-go.

Josh really likes
his electric toothbrushes

With a shake and everything.

So he'll really be able to
get into the corners

And get the nitty-gritty out,
you know? Yeah.

Ugh. God.

Especially from some of them
taco nights --

Back splatter and stuff.
Oh, yeah.

Ugh. God.

[ Laughs ]

I don't even know
what to say right now.

[ Laughs ]

It's a good thing I'm humble
and don't know how to gloat.

Scott: new day.

Try to get this tank full
and headed to offload.

Narrator: punching through their
w*r with the b*mb cyclone...

Sore.

My back is snapping
or something.

...the bering sea tests
every man.

Mac -- I tell you what.
That guy is tough as nails.

You know he's got to be hurting,
but he just --

It's not in his dna to quit.

Narrator: midway through
the brutal winter campaign,

The lucky ones recover...

See what it looks like
coming up right now.

Give us a break.

Narrator:
...and help finish the job.

Man: whoo-hoo!

Scott:
oh-h*-h*, looks pretty good.

Looks pretty good.

[ Laughs ]

Yeah!

That's what we need.

Exactly what we needed
to get back on track.

And look at that.

There's 400 pounds
in that one pot.

400 Pounds.

The move paid off big-time.

Security.
Summer bay inbound.

St. Paul.
Standing by 60.

Going into st. Paul right now.

We need to get mahlon
to the clinic.

Narrator: the less fortunate are
done for the season...

Oh, sorry, skip.

Narrator: ...burning time
in the race for victory.

I'm gonna try
to get another guy.

What else I can do?

Casey: scrub her good.

Make sure you get around
all the nuts and bolts

Of the toilet seat,

Around the back there
real tight, you know?

Scrub her down --
wet, dry, wet, dry.

Wax on, wax off.

Guess it's time
to face the music.

-That's right.
-Yeah, thanks.

Narrator: while one makes good
on a debt...

Going deep into this one,

...more terrifying than anything
he's ever faced before.

All right.
This is humiliating enough.

You'll see
the finished product.

Toothbrush is done,
gloves are done.

These things need to be
thrown away, too.

That's disgusting.

Dude, no, no, no, no.
Put those back on.

No.

Well, you still got
a shower to clean.

It's so dirty.
That's good enough.

That's sparkling.
