want to know about ocean life what kind

of animals live in the ocean what's an

aquarium

today we'll ride the waves of fun

through wonder world and learn all about

ocean life along the way we'll learn a

bit about ocean animals and aquariums -

to do that we'll have to earn three

magic keys Jen

and when we've earned all three magic

keys

so what do you say power pals do you

interesting many different kinds of

animals live in the ocean do you know

which of the following animals lives in

the ocean we can do this one power pals

do you think that this tribe lives in

the ocean

or does this whale live in the ocean yes

first of three

Kirksey to open up a door into the world

of storytelling where Leaney the story

performer will tell us a story about

ocean light and how she talked with a

dolphin

hi power pals I'm Lena the story

Lena the Story Performer

performer I love everything about the

ocean the smell of salt air

the dancing of the waves

and ocean life all the creatures that

live in the sea from tiny fish to

colorful coral to eels and stingrays and

even oh well a

few years ago I was invited to perform

at a Seaport aquarium full of ocean life

when I arrived I learned that I was

going to perform my stories in dolphin

theatre that meant I'd get a chance to

see dolphins but when I entered dolphin

theatre the trainer explained that

during my show the Dolphins would not be

swimming in the large pool behind me

like they normally do instead they were

safe and resting in a smaller pool

behind an underwater gate well the

audience arrived and sat in their

theatre seats facing me while I stood on

a platform in front of the large pool

everyone was excited because this was

the aquariums first time having a

storyteller in dolphin theatre well I

began my story an ocean story about a

little boy walking along the sandy shore

and over on the rocks were some slick

black seals and flying overhead were

seagulls

well I continued with the sound effects

of excited seagulls

when all of a sudden I heard a noise

coming from behind me I swung around and

there was misty the dolphin bobbing up

and down to the call of the seagulls

while I continued with my story and

sound effects

when all of a sudden misty rose up on

her tail and danced backwards with her

reply

apparently when misty overheard the

sounds of ocean life she jumped over the

gate and swam up to say hello

I love my job

because wherever I go I meet the most

interesting and fascinating audience

members just like you thanks for

aquarium last weekend and it was so much

fun the aquarium is a great place they

have different kinds of ocean animals

there and I'm gonna talk more about that

no I don't think so either that's a cat

and cats don't really like the water

much so they're not going to make their

home in the ocean

how about this animal do you think they

live in the ocean I do

right again this is a lobster and

lobsters definitely live in the ocean

into the world of dance where we'll stop

hi power pals I'm Vanessa your dance

partner today we're gonna learn a

warm-up dance exercise rib has been

talking about ocean life and our dance

exercise today is gonna look like a

whale diving in and out of the ocean in

order to do this dance exercise you need

to be sitting on the floor are you

sitting on the place yeah great yeah put

the soles or the bottoms of your feet

together tummies and shoulders back next

along good now you're ready to do a

dance warm-up exercise we're gonna

pretend that we're a whale diving into

the ocean first we're gonna dive in and

touch our forehead to our feet then

we're gonna bounce eight times and then

scoop up with the flattest back you

possibly can are you ready to try it

with me yeah okay dive in bounce one two

three four five six seven eight and

scoop up with a flat back

perfect one more time dive in bounce one

two three four five six seven eight and

scoop with a flat back awesome job

please stand up at the end of every

dance class we always do two baths the

first bow is to thank our dance partner

and bow over and come up thank you for

being my dance partner and the second

bow that's for you for all the wonderful

you just did and bow over and come up

hey rib how was that that was pastor

one of the largest animals that lives in

the ocean is the whale

there are many different types of whales

and they come in all different sizes the

blue whale is the largest animal to ever

live on the planet in fact it is larger

than the largest dinosaur and that is

HUGE now let me tell you about my trip

to the aquarium I saw a lot of amazing

things that day and I started with the

dolphins they are so cool and their

trainers taught them some amazing tricks

I really enjoyed watching and learning

about the dolphins then it was off to

the sea lions now the sea lions they

were so funny they barked a lot and they

clapped their flippers together kind of

like this rib

it was so funny and they are great

swimmers too now the sea lions also have

these really long whiskers that helps

them to navigate through the ocean now

to navigate just means to decide on a

course or which direction to go listen

to your heart Robert it says learning

about new things is great for our minds

and for our hearts yeah that's true rib

and I have so much more to tell you

about the aquarium but for now you had

better get back to your mission a power

pals have you discovered the secret

hey it's challenge three it's time to

earn our final key

hey power pals do remember earlier when

I was talking about the aquarium well

Rivard and I are at the aquarium and we

really want to go see the dolphins we

are standing here next to the shark tank

can you help us find the way to the

dolphin what do you think the answer is

is this the route to get to the dolphins

no

no I don't think so either this looks

like the way to see the Sharks how about

this is this the way to see the dolphins

right again this looks like the route to

see the whales

so it must be this route this is the way

to see the dolphins yes

look there there they are and they are

so awesome good going power pals you did

a great job on that challenge you really

helped red and I to find our way

word we're sure to

we'll use our final key to open up a

door into the world of art good cousin

Chris will show us how he draws a shirt

door for me

hi power pals I'm cousin Chris go grab a

Chris the Shark

pencil and some paper because we're

gonna have some fun drawing

today I'm going to use an oval circle

and triangle to draw on paint a shark

I'll start with a big oval in the middle

of my paper for the shark's body

then I'll draw a line straight through

it and

one end I'll make a triangle for its

tail

up here I'll make another triangle for

its top fin

I'll make two circles one

two four eyes and I'll make a circle

inside each one for the pupils

I'll add a few lines to make the Sharks

smile

I'll add another triangle down here for

its bottom thin and

one last triangle here

then I'll frame it

and there is my outline using ovals

circles

and

triangles

now I'll dock it in the lines I want to

keep I'll start with the eyes

I'm so excited that we're learning about

ocean life today because I love sharks

they're so interesting because of their

big sharp teeth

sharks are toward the top of the food

chain in the ocean that means that they

eat lots of the other smaller animals

that live in the ocean there are tons of

creatures that live in the ocean power

of house because it's so huge

most of them live towards the top of the

water where the Sun shines through like

sharks seals fish and plankton there are

also creatures that live way down deep

in the ocean where there's no Sun it's

pitch-black down there some of the fish

that live that deep actually glow in the

dark now that's cool

I'll have some details like some rocks

and some bubbles

then I'll frame it

now let's color it in

I'll start by making the shark purple

hey power pals did you ever wonder how

fish breathe underwater

well they don't have long it's like you

and me they have gills fish use their

gills to help the water go in and out of

their bodies and that's how they survive

underwater

but some ocean animals are mammals like

a sea lion or a whale

they don't have gills but they can hold

their breath for a really long time so

they can dive underwater

but then they have to come back up for

air

it must be fun to have flippers and fins

and swim around the ocean like that

I'll add some orange to the ocean

Florida

hey power pals I hear Robert took a trip

to the aquarium that is so cool there

are so many interesting plants and

animals to see there my son and I love

to visit the aquarium he likes to look

at the jellyfish and I like to look at

the Sharks I'll just add a couple more

details to my drawing like some green

for the plants and red for the rocks

finally I'll make his eyes green

aquarium it sounds like you had a great
