02x28 - Sooty at the Organ

Post by bunniefuu »

Sie having fun in the bath there. What a

great classic episode. If you go right

back to the roots of the Si show, you'll

find there's a lot of musical content.

That's because Harry, of course, before

he was a performer, was a very

accomplished musician. So, it's not

surprising that Harry developed routines

around Si and musical instruments. So,

let's go and join Si and Harry now at

the keyboard.

[Music]

That's

[Applause]

[Music]

I don't

[Music]

Hello there. I'm so glad you're here

because uh Sud's prepared a very special

concert for you today. You see, he's

been practicing for weeks and weeks and

weeks on his electric organ. Oh, I'm

sorry. He told me to say his mighty

electric organ. I don't know what he's

going to play exactly, but there's

something very special in the wind.

Anyway, we better get him up and see

what it's all about. Don't you? Oh, by

the way, it's all very, very serious, so

don't laugh, will you? I knock on the

roof. See if he's in. Sy,

[Music]

he's never there when you want him. You

know, you've seen him. Knock on the roof

again. Sy, you've got to come out now.

Oh, he's a scamp. I'll try again,

Sy. Oh,

I wish you wouldn't do that. Anyway, now

that you're here, just wave to all your

friends.

Anyway, Sy, are you all set for this uh

musical recital? That's jolly good.

Don't bow to just yet. You haven't done

anything yet. Well, where's the electric

organ?

Haven't I brought it? I haven't brought

it, haven't you?

Oh, no.

Well, how the Dickens can you have an

musical recital if you haven't got the

electric organ? I'm terribly sorry.

Well, we shall have to forget all about

it.

Play the xylophone instead.

Well, I suppose we better do something.

All right, then we'll play the xylophone

instead. Here you are.

Right. Well, uh Oh, it's the wrong way

around. Sy, uh, what are you going to

play us?

A little thing you knocked off called

What? Listen, get in rap city number

two.

Go on then. Listen, get in rap city

number two.

[Music]

No

sieg

[Music]

that isn't listenarian rapsidity. That's

the sie tune. Now if you're going to

play it, play it properly. Listen,

[Music]

that's Jingle Bells.

If you're going to play the list, you'll

play it.

Terribly sorry, mister.

No, please. Now, don't do that. Now,

don't be naughty. Play it properly.

No, shuty. Stop it.

You know, sometimes it's a little bit

too, but I don't mind a bit of harmless

fun, but when you go bonking people,

stop it,

shuty.

Oh.

Well, he's not going to get away with

that. Just you wait until I catch him.

Wait, I I'll give him it.

Where is he?

[Music]

Oh no.

Oh, you are a scamp.

What's the matter, Syi?

Oh, yes. I know you want to play it on

your electric organ. But we haven't got

your electric organ. So you'll have to

make the best of this. Oh no, don't do

that.

It's no good, silly. There's nothing we

can do about it.

Oh, the magic spell. Of course, we never

thought of that. But you go down there a

minute then. Right. Well, uh, what

you've got to say is suit magic. What's

the medal? You want your evening dress

on? We don't want your evening dress on.

Go away. Right. Well, you've got to say

S's magic spell.

What have you brought it up here for?

We don't want your evening dress. Take

it away.

You've got to say it wizzy. Let's get

Oh my gosh, Sy, we don't want to watch

you ironing your clothes. Let's go.

Take it down there then and put it on if

you want it on and don't be long.

All right. Well, you've got to say the

magic spell. Izzy, wizzy, let's get busy

organ. All together, ready? Izzy wizzy,

let's get busy organ.

Gosh, it's worked.

Oh, that's wonderful, isn't it?

My words. Well, I better go around the

back and tell Sy we've managed it.

Come on, Syi. Oh, he's coming. Oh my

words. Well, that is lovely, Sydney. I

do like your evening dress, but we

better take your top hat off. It'll get

in the way. Let's put it over there.

Just turn around. Your coat isn't

straight. That's right. Now, now that

you've got the ory,

[Music]

Sy,

[Music]

now that you've got your organ, perhaps

you can play this tune that you were

going to play in the first place. What

was it? List and get in rap city number

two. Jolly good. Off we go then. Ready?

You're going to do the bag pipes first.

All right, hurry up then and do the bag

pipes.

[Music]

Oh, that was jolly good. It was fine.

That, wasn't it? Uh, all right. So, that

that's enough. That's enough. Now, can

we have this uh learian rapsy that you

knocked off? Right. Off we go then.

You going to do the banjo now?

Oh, go on then and do the banjo.

Got a lot of little stops down the back

here, you know. Got to set them all. Are

you ready?

[Music]

That was fine. That was lovely, Sy.

Right. Well, can we have this uh main

tune now that you're going to play,

Johnny? Good. Ready?

Off we go then.

Come on.

That's fine. Listen. Get in number two.

[Music]

No, no, no.

K, that's not ledian raps city.

Anyway, it's much too hard for you to

play. Isn't there something else, Sy?

Oh, you have another new new

composition. What's this one? The

Syenade.

Come on, man. Let's hear it. Ready?

[Music]

Oh, yes. I like that. That's jolly good.

Just play a few more bars of it for me,

will you?

[Music]

Sorry.

Do I think Sweet would like to hear it?

No, I don't think he would, Sie. He is

not very keen on music, you know. Give

him a whistle. I don't think he'd like

it.

All right, sweep.

Sweep,

where is he? Oh, he's coming.

Hello, sweep. It's very nice to see you.

I say, uh, Si's just written a new

little tune called the SY Serenade, and

he thought you might like to hear it.

He doesn't want to hear it, Sy. It looks

as if you're going to have to anyway,

sweep. So, you stand down there. You got

You'll have to move right down because

Sy starts at the bottom, you see.

[Music]

Sweet, sweet, sweet. Sie doesn't like

you to interrupt when he's playing. He's

just stopped me from whistling anyway.

No, you'll have to listen. Move down

there again. That's it.

[Music]

You've got sweeps here. Now

look, try again. I say, "Stie, just a

minute. Can't you let Sweet join in?"

Now, come on. He'd love to, wouldn't

you, Sweep? Let Let him join in.

[Music]

You mustn't hold a note down. Sweep. I

tell you what, Sydney, when you get

playing the tune, couldn't sweep go

bum bum at the bottom? Well, let's try

that, shall we?

[Music]

I say sweep that. That's enough. Please.

I think you

Bye-bye, sweep. Bye-bye. I think S's had

enough of you. Well, what do you want

now? You're going to play something.

What? Listen, get in rap city number

three. Oh, no.

Sweep. Sweep. Play something on your

bones. Bye-bye.

Well, we've got to go now, Sy. But just

before we say bye-bye, would you like to

play just a few more bars of your city

tune? Would you? Jolly good. Come on

then. Ready.

[Music]

That was good. Oh,

well, bye-bye everyone. Bye-bye. Oh, and

one of these days I'll play you Liss

Hungarian Rap City number six.

Bye-bye.
