Premiere, The (2024)

Post by bunniefuu »

Okay, what are we doing now?

We gotta, I have to

I have to go through this

cause I'm gonna have to read

opposite all of these people

at the audition,

so I need to basically--

I think to elicit the best

performance from them,

I need to actually

kind of perform myself.

Right?

Am I supposed to be

acknowledging you or

What is the format

for this documentary?

Is it like fly on the wall?

I don't know

that you're here or am I

Are we breaking the fourth wall?

[peaceful music]

Sam's first audition.

This is my box of,

you know,

show business related stuff.

My Oscar.

I got it at Suncoast Video,

and I was so angry that it

was not like the actual shape

of the Oscar statue.

I wanted to saw the arms off.

Sarah Michelle Gellar.

I had the biggest crush,

and she was in Buffy,

but then she was in,

I Know What You Did

Last Summer,

which was almost

as significant as Scream,

but then she was also

in Scream 2.

My favorite actresses

in order are Lucille Ball,

Sarah Michelle Gellar,

Kirstie Alley.

And Shelley Long.

I also like Goldie Hawn.

Well, gotta go study. See ya.

Kirstie Alley?

[peaceful music]

So, this was

when I was in The Wiz,

I was the scarecrow.

This was a script,

I have all

of my lines highlighted.

[Sam]

[bubblegum pops]

[peaceful music]

[Sam] This I want to print.

I wanna get this digitized.

This is my Palm Pilot

because I was always

an entrepreneur

and I would get my emails.

Oh my god,

what a life, what a legacy.

Well,

I think this illustrates,

you know,

what I'm gonna do,

what I'm capable of.

You know, we got musicals,

we got scary movies,

we got Sarah Michelle.

We got the trifecta.

[Sam]

[music stops]

[Sam]

So I want to make a musical.

I was gonna adapt

the novel I wrote,

but I thought,

Better to do something

with a built-in fan base, right?

So I have this vision

for Scream: The Musical.

Kristen,

who's a dear friend of mine,

has been performing since

she was just a small child.

And I thought

she would be perfect,

to play the titular role

of Sidney Prescott.

I feel she can deliver a real

tour de force performance.

And so we feel we have

all of the elements, right?

But of course,

we need some financial backing.

And it can be simple.

I'm not looking to write

the next Phantom of the Opera.

I just want something fun

and campy like Scream.

-But on the stage.

-Croissant?

[speaking French]

-[Wendy] No darling.

-[man] My friend?

-[Sam] I will take a croissant.

-[man] I got them from Paris.

I'm still in the French mode,

[Wendy] Oh, darling.

[man]...you know I can't--

-[Sam] You were in France?

-[man] Well, yeah. Yeah.

-I love the sound of--

-[Wendy]

-[Wendy] But--

-And you could.

[Wendy]

-You could.

-[Wendy]

And we thought this could be

a nice reintroduction

to the theater--

-[Sam] Is something--

-[Wendy]

[man] Rolling.

I don't know where it is.

-Mohna? Thank you.

-Okay.

You know Mohna is my good friend

and we work together

on some stuff, and she's

I would say like a

Broadway aficionado.

-Right?

-[Mohna] I would say so.

So I said, all right.

I need a little lubrication.

I got wet the whistle.

[indistinct chatter]

I'm not driving,

thank you, honey.

It's the spicy or no?

-[Mohna] No.

-[Sam] Thank you. Okay.

All right, so we've got

These are all out of order now.

Hold on.

So it's, "What's Your Favorite

Scary Movie?"

"I Think I Have

the Wrong Number."

"The Woodsboro Murders,"

"100% Cotton."

"I'll Send You a Copy."

"Come to Mother."

"I'll Be Right Back."

"One Too Many Scary Movies,"

"Don't You Blame the Movies."

So those are the titles.

So my biggest focus is:

What kind of melodic structure

can we incorporate

with these titles in mind?

-[piano playing]

-What key is this?

This is in D flat.

[Sam] Okay.

Not a good key for you?

[Sam] You tell me.

-It sounds good.

-[Sam] Okay, let's try it.

[piano playing]

Night time sharpens

Heightens each sensation

Darkness stirs

And wakes imagination

[off-key]

Silently the senses

-Okay, so

-That was good.

That's the melody,

so, if it's.

A flat or G Sharp,

I don't really care.

Got it.

-[Sam] You tell me what

-We have people for this?

We have people lined up

for the show?

We're in casting now.

-You know what I mean?

-[Amanda] Okay great.

We're a little bit behind

the eight ball then.

If we don't have the music

and you're casting the show.

[laughs]

We'll take it from

the top of the scene.

I will read the parts of Dewey,

Tatum and Sydney

and you just read Gale,

Dewey and Tatum

are officers or friends?

Excuse me?

Dewey and Tatum

are officers or friends

Dewey is the sheriff

of the town.

-So you have not seen the films?

-I have not.

-Okay.

-Are we filming?

[Sam] Yeah but you don't

The cameras are for

I was waiting for an "action"

The cameras are for behind

the scenes of the musical

but you're strictly here

for the audition.

My specialty is improv,

so I feel I can bring

a lot to the character.

-Oh really?

-[Scott] Yeah.

I also perform all over

the Country on cruise ships,

casinos, mega resorts

I'll send you a copy.

That's a very important line.

Should I look at you

or at the camera?

-[Sam] You can look at me.

-Okay.

-Actor brain. Sorry.

-That's okay.

[sighs]

I used to sing

with a geriatric jazz band

called, Jazz Alive.

-Jazz a what?

-Jazz Alive.

I'll send you a copy.

And then Sydney

punches her in the face.

b*tch goes down.

It's a really iconic scene.

I would love to have you

at least read for the role

of the ghost

of Maureen Prescott.

I think that you have

certainly the right look.

-You need to sell this, okay?

-[Anna] Uh-huh.

-How old are you?

-I'm 20.

This is such an important

detail is the voice.

-Yeah.

-I'll send you a copy. Okay?

[giggles]

-I'll send you a copy.

-Once more.

I mean I'm not saying

this is beneath me,

I'm not saying that,

I'm just saying, "Hmm."

-I'll send you a copy.

-No.

I'll send you a copy.

-No.

-Okay.

It is a great opportunity

for an actor

Of your

-Caliber?

-Caliber.

Never, under any circumstances

ever say:

"I'll be right back."

Alright, this is exciting.

Not official,

just telling you that

-I won't say anything.

-You're our first choice.

Alright?

We'll email you.

You have email, yes?

-I do have email Sam.

-[Sam] Okay, beautiful.

-Okay, thank you so much.

-Thank you, Ruby.

Alright, take care.

-You too. Bye.

-Bye.

[Sam] Quiet on the set.

[piano playing]

Come to mother

Come to mother

Come to me

My little bitty

Why,

I just want you With me

Come to me, little bitty

I love you,

Little Sydney

Could we double the tempo

or like a little faster.

[Catherine] Okay.

Or can you vary it?

-Like, slow to fast?

-[Catherine] Sure.

[Catherine] I can certainly try.

-Okay.

-[Catherine] Okay.

[piano playing]

Little too slow.

Come to mother

Come to mother

Let it build.

[vacuuming]

[Sam]

[Jennifer]

[Jennifer]

[Jennifer laughs]

[Jennifer]

[continuous barking]

-[Jennifer] Got it.

-[Sam] You, know.

[Jennifer] Yeah,

"Hello, Classy Canine."

Hello, Classy Canine.

[vacuum whirring gets louder]

[mouthing silently]

[barking continues]

Hello?

I think you have

the wrong number.

It happens. Take it easy.

Please don't do this.

No, please.

Please, I--

Don't do this. I can't.

[screams]

What's your favorite favorite?

And then you guys come in.

"Scary Movie".

I don't know about this.

I'm in this scene

and he' singing it to me.

Do I sing in this?

Or do you want me to like

I don't know.

It would be Ghostface

& Company so, I think

Am I singing this

or am I singing

"What's Your Favorite?"

-And they say: "Scary Movie"

-[Sam] Exactly.

Do I sing Scary Movie

with them or is it just I

[Sam] Try it both ways.

Everyone has

way too many questions.

What's your favorite

Scary Movie

[Amanda] How's that?

You're not familiar

with the films?

-No, I'm very sorry.

-Right.

We get it.

But Sydney is sort

of characterized as the heroine,

-[Andrea] Mm-hmm.

-Right, the lead.

[Andrea] Right.

Not in my musical, okay?

It's always been

about Gale Weathers.

She saves the day at the end.

She survives

the entire franchise

Uh-huh.

And she is the most bad a*s

character in this film,

in my musical so I need you

to understand that.

I need you to embody

that in every scene.

I need you to know

that regardless of what

the script says

and what the audience's

perception might be.

Oh, that "It's all about

Sydney Prescott."

-[Andrea] Okay.

-It's about Gale Weathers.

This is the Gale Weathers

f*cking show.

[Andrea]

-Okay.

-[Andrea]

What, uh--

What puzzle?

Like meaning wh--

[indistinct chatter]

[Sam] What the f*ck?

[Ruby] No Scream!

Excuse me!

Excuse me.

Excuse me.

-[Ruby] We all scream

-[Sam] Alright, listen to me.

-[Ruby] For no Scream

-Ruby, listen to me.

-[Ruby] I scream

-You didn't get the part. Okay?

-[Ruby] You scream

-I'm sorry we went

in a different direction,

I'm done with it Ruby.

Stop emailing me,

stop calling me, and please--

-[Ruby] For no Scream

-[Sam] You know what?

-[Sam] Ruby.

-[Ruby] I scream

-Can somebody? I mean she's

-[Ruby] No Scream!

-[Sam] Ruby, let me--

-[Ruby] I scream

-Ruby. Excuse me. I'm sorry.

-[Ruby] No Scream!

Let me tell you something

right now, Ruby.

Listen.

This is tortious interference.

-I'm really worried about her.

-[Ruby] I scream

-I'm wondering if we should

[Ruby] You scream

call paramedics.

"My son don't forget

my teachings.

But keep my commandments.

For they would bring you

many days full of life

in the things that you--"

I won't do the commandments.

Okay.

I know the commandments.

-"Thou shalt not steal"

-[Jade] This isn't

I need something

a little bit more inspirational.

-Something explicitly kind of--

-[sighs]

You know. Ooh.

My prescription's ready

at White's.

What are you taking now?

I mean

They have me on a beta blocker

for the high blood pressure.

Acute hypertension

technically is the term, but

-I'm in the wrong--

-I'm on the wrong page.

I was going to say,

that's not the response

[Scott] Where my line at?

-At the top?

-[Andrea] At the bottom.

I'm at the wrong page.

I got to stop for a second.

-[Andrea] Oh, we're in a car?

-[Scott] I don't understand

why I can't do the Asian

American accent.

You don't have one

in this whole play.

[imitating a car]

What about Gale Weathers?

I sound like a meteorologist.

[Scott] Could talk like Russian.

She could do Russian,

we'd be in a Russian

We're investigating

the crime in Kiev.

That's funny.

You could do Russian.

[Sam] Scott, listen to me.

I need you

to play the role of Dewey Riley.

Outfit.

Love a leopard moment, but

I thought this was consignment

so one of a kind pieces,

but I guess she has some

inventory thing.

Why do you have a flask?

[Marjorie]

-Yeah.

-[Marjorie]

-[Sam] Oh, you were?

-[Marjorie]

Oh, yeah. Okay.

I will have a check today.

-Today?

-Okay.

Yup

[Sam] Oh, but it was

substantial?

Hundred?

[Sam] Oh, okay.

Okay, alright.

Well maybe big ticket,

Big ticket items.

Alright, cool.

Will you text me and let me know

when it's ready

-and I will come back urgently.

-[Marjorie] Yeah, absolutely.

[laughs]

Hello everyone, welcome

to Talk of the Hamptons.

My guest today is Sam,

who's going to be talking

to us about his musical.

Sam, thank you

for being here today.

Thank you for having me, Berfin.

Sam, tell us a little bit more.

So it's actually a musical

version of the movie Scream,

the horror film from 1996

directed by Wes Craven.

It's been a passion project

of mine for many years.

I loved the film,

we're knee deep in rehearsal,

everything is going swimmingly.

I've got an incredible

group of actors

and the support of the town.

The play premieres

on January 8, 2022

at Bay Street Theater

in Sag Harbor.

[Berfin] Wonderful.

How many tickets

have you sold so far?

We have sold plenty.

We have sold plenty of tickets

but of course,

it's a large theater

and we do thankfully still

have some tickets available

so get them while they last.

Get 'em. Yeah. Get 'em.

[Berfin] Yes people,

you heard Sam,

go out there and purchase

some tickets.

It's going to be

an amazing show.

[mouths] Thank you.

-[Berfin] Of course.

-[Sam]

Ohh. Okay. But it's okay.

We have a big following so

it's going to be a big success.

-Are we live?

-[woman] Yeah.

Okay. Any viewers?

Let's wait a couple moments,

we'll wait for some viewers.

We are releasing a custom blend

of full spectrum CBD gummies

inspired by Scream: The Musical.

These are really going

to target stress and anxiety.

We have some viewers.

Who do we have?

-[woman] Mary.

-Mary?

Our blend is going to be

specially formulated with

With Wu, wyz

Wuwayze,

which is shoshandra fruit.

So it's a super versatile

French terry cloth.

French terry cloth

from Portugal.

From Portugal.

Then it's also going to have...

Uhm, gung ko licorice root.

-[Kevin] Gung So.

-Gung So licorice root.

-[Kevin] Great for calming.

-[Sam] Great for calming.

-[Kevin] Right.

-And also this is the one,

the Tubi chang

which is wingless c*ck.

We've reimagined it

for Scream: The Musical,

so it's going to be

a vintage black,

solid base with the iconic

Hamptons Hobby club logo

with a smiley face, but in

These are actual c*ck,

dried c*ck.

In white.

So it will be a white face

as opposed to yellow.

-Oh my god.

-[Kevin] Mango.

Mango, it's a candy.

It's candy with health benefits.

Anyone asking any questions?

Do we have any questions

from our live viewers?

Anyone saying they want

to place an order?

Do we have any

viewers whatsoever?

[Kevin]

Well let's give it

a few more minutes

and we'll see if anyone has

any questions.

[Mohna] Aye-yi-yi.

I mean, I love him

but I have to tell you,

he's quite a challenge.

He gets so over

[Sam]

Tell him to get in the back.

-excited and-- Like now.

-[Sam] Get in the back.

Pointing.

-I know where we're going.

-[Sam] Can you get in the back?

I don't want to be filmed

from behind like this

with the back lighting.

-Mohna, is that okay?

-[Mohna] What?

I'm gonna sit back here.

It's better for him.

[Mohna] Okay.

[Sam] Jesus Christ.

[Sam] Did you even vet that one?

Did you vet any of these?

Yes, I did.

I couldn't get into it.

That one was a real

f*cking doozy.

[Mohna] I couldn't get into it.

It wasn't even an apartment,

it was a room.

It was a bedroom

What the f*ck?

It was a bedroom

with a shared bathroom.

[Mohna] I know

what you're looking for

I don't know if that's the case.

Goddamnit!

Mohna, listen to me,

I gave you very

strict parameters.

So far the three properties

we've seen,

the first one had a bathroom

that was being repaired,

she said you have

to use the porta john,

the second one

had no electricity,

It had a mini fridge

and an electric stove top,

And this one was not even

[stammering]

a separate apartment.

It was a bedroom

with a shared bathroom.

I don't even know

who I'm sharing it with.

It could be a person's child.

I mean

[Mohna]

It doesn't make any sense

[Sam] It's a complete

waste of my time.

[Mohna] You sure you went

to the right place?

[footsteps on gravel]

[Sam] It's a little dicey.

[seagulls squawking]

[Sam singing with others]

Die you, neckties

And a nightshirt and a nose

Die you, neckties

And a nightshirt and a nose

[singing continues]

[Sam] You guys sound great!

Can we try the finale?

Amanda?

Amanda?

[Sam singing]

Guess who's back?

COVID free

[laughs]

-Hey guys!

-[Kristen] Hi.

Thank you for coming.

You know what?

We'll do a little--

I'm negative.

I tested negative twice.

-[Kristen] Great.

-Brought you coffee.

Uhm. You're early

or I'm late, I don't know.

-[fake laughter]

-[Sam] Look at this, wow.

Nancy Atlas, huh?

They go all out.

Uhm, so I learned yesterday--

Have you guys met?

-No.

-Not really we've--

[Sam] So Kristen, Mark.

You were not there the day

that we did the zoom rehearsal.

You had a funeral.

[Kristen]

-Okay.

-[Kristen]

[Sam]

By the way, Mark, sorry,

lot going on.

I'm just getting back,

kind of getting my bearings.

Amanda can't be here,

she's got tons going on

with Christmas pageant

and Advent season, whatever.

I had them set up the keyboard

but it's sorta pointless

because I can't play

and I don't know if you play.

-[Mark] No.

-No.

[Sam] Anyway,

let me hand these out.

You have the almond,

-you have an almond.

-[Kristen] Thank you.

You had the oat milk.

We've got to keep

our crew energized.

Got the oat milk.

This is for me

and you got nothing.

Why don't we gather

around the piano?

[Mark vocalizing]

[Kristen vocalizing

a scale off-key]

-[Mark] Okay, so when

-[Kristen] Breath on the top.

[Mark] you're going to the top

you're reaching for that note

and I want you to think as you

go higher I want you to think

going lower.

So just invert it right?

-[Kristen] Got it.

-So when you're going think:

[vocalizing a scale]

So rather than reaching high for

the note, you're reaching low

for the high note.

-Does that make sense?

-[Kristen] Yeah.

-[Mark] Give me that.

-Okay.

[Kristen vocalizing

a scale off-key]

I...

I don't know.

I feel like we are way

behind the 8 ball.

I mean, I think...

This was a pipe dream.

This 13 originals, I think.

I'm willing to, kind of,

sacrifice that.

[Amanda] Uh-huh.

[Sam] No, this one, we need.

This is Gale. This is titular.

-Okay.

-Keep that.

We'll keep that.

But that needs work too.

[Sam] "Come to Mother."

This is the one

"Come To Mother"

is locked in my opinion.

I'm putting this

in the done pile.

-I feel like at this--

-[Sam] Deputy Dewey, I--

-At this point I'm feeling like

-[Sam] "Don't Blame the Movies."

what's even the point of me...

-[Sam] What do you mean?

-staying on this.

Because who's going to do this?

I don't even know

how to play the piano.

Well...

[man] For a coffee,

press "barista drinks".

A latte, for example.

-Small, medium, large.

-Latte is no foam?

[man] Latte is no foam

with steamed milk and espresso.

Hi, good morning.

Good morning.

-Good morning.

-How are you?

I'm doing well Ruby,

good to see you.

I do, yeah.

I'm thankful to be employed.

-[Sam] Yeah, in this economy.

-[Ruby]

[Shane] Do you know Sam?

-[Sam] We know each other.

-[Ruby]

We go way back.

-[Ruby]

-Ruby, what can we get

-[Ruby]

-for you this morning?

-What can we get for you?

-[Ruby]

[Sam] The acai bowl, sure.

[Shane and Sam]

Under kitchen.

Peanut butter.

[Sam] And would you like

the house made

or the regular creamy?

-House made.

-[Shane] You remember. Good.

Almond. Do we do shaved almond

or whole almond?

Or give them a choice?

Shaved almond. Okay.

[tap dancing in the background]

[tap dancing in the background]

Excuse me?

Do you think the AC

is going to be a problem?

Chris? Oh my god, hi!

You're early!

I know. I can totally--

I just didn't know where else...

Come in here real quick.

Come, come, come.

Hurry up,

I don't want Kristen to see you.

Come, come, come, come.

How are you, first of all?

What do you want to tell me,

because after those phone calls

I'm gonna lose my mind.

Okay, I have good news

and I have bad news.

-Oh, god. Okay.

-Okay.

-Bad news first?

-[Sam] Good news first.

The good news is how do you

like the sound

of Kristen Curcie Executive

Producer of Scream: The Musical?

[laughs]

God. Uhm, I mean,

it sounds lovely.

I'd love to be the executive

producer of probably anything--

I honestly think

that is what your strength is

on the producing side.

-Are you kidding?

-No.

Not to say that this

To preface, none of this

is about your talent

or your performing

ability whatsoever.

I know that you are very busy,

you missed a couple

of rehearsals, Kristen.

You're kicking me

out of the musical.

I'm not kicking you

out of the musical.

I'm saying that I

Someone's come into my life

recently who I feel is

Better than me.

For the particular role

of Sidney Prescott.

-Yes.

-Sam.

-[Chris] How are you?

-Good. Thank you so much.

Kristen, Chris Brown.

-Hi. Nice to meet you.

-[Kristen] Nice to meet you.

Chris, nice to meet you.

You take this and then wait,

-hang out back here.

-Okay.

And then I'm going

to do a little

I want this to be special

because you're joining a cast--

[Sam] We've been working

together for two months,

-but this is now

-[Chris] Okay.

between us, uhm...

-[Sam]

-[Chris] Mmhmm.

Yeah.

Okay.

I don't want to put too much

pressure on you today.

But what I want is...

Originally we were doing

Phantom of the Opera , kind of

We're trying to write lyrics

to Phantom melodies.

I want to scratch that,

maybe we'll do

Dear Evan Hansen style,

Hamilton style. Like something

-a little bit more energetic.

-[Chris] Okay.

[Chris]

-Evan.

-Evan Hansen

-I need to watch that.

-You can--

[Chris] Yeah, okay. You too.

[Sam] Okay. So wait back here

Wait back here and I'm going

to do a little intro.

-Okay.

-And how do you--

Do you prefer Chris Brown?

Christina Brown?

Chris is cool,

Chris Brown is cool.

And I'll just clarify.

Not that Chris Brown.

-Appreciate it. Thank you.

-[Sam] Alright.

-Hey guys.

-Hi.

[Sam] Hannah-Faye?

Oh my god, you're early!

[Melody of

"We Don't Talk About Bruno"]

We want to talk Ghostface

Ay, ay

We wanna talk Ghostface

Oh, my baby Sidney

Keep away from he

He wants to be out

He wants to be in

He's got a long face

And a long white chin

We don't talk

About Ghostface

We don't talk

About Ghostface

[Sam] Okay, Andrea?

We should talk

About Ghostface

Ay, ay, ay

We should talk

About Ghostface

[Sam] Alright. Alright, alright.

-[Catherine laughs] Okay.

-[Sam] That was great guys.

-[Chris] Nice job!

-[Catherine] Thank you.

[Sam] Action.

Hello, Sidney.

-Some night, huh?

-[Sam] How are you?

[Andrea] Are you alright?

[Chris] It's okay Tatum,

she's just doing her job.

-Right Gale?

-[Andrea] That's right.

How's the book?

It will be coming out

later this year.

I'll look for it.

I'll send you a copy.

Alright, we're getting-- Okay.

[Andrea]

[Catherine]

[Andrea]

[Catherine]

[Andrea]

-[Sam] Hello.

-Hello.

-Oh, hi.

-How are you?

Come on in.

[Sam] What am I walking into?

Oh no, no. Come in.

-Actually, it's good.

-[Sam] Are you okay?

I know that that was intense

and I don't want her to

Because, believe me,

when I did that to Scott

I had terrible guilt over it.

I didn't even feel it.

If you want me to talk to her

-and say okay

-Please don't.

-She's lovely.

-No, she's incredible.

She's gonna save

the f*cking show.

Like I said.

But, you know, we were thinking.

You've been working so hard

on this project

and we appreciate it.

But they tell people if you're

going to make a sex tape

play Disney music

in the background

because then it can

never be on YouTube.

-I feel if we're like taking

-[Andrew] That's new.

-[Andrea] I'd never heard that.

-No, it's true.

I don't know,

but that's what I hear.

So I feel like,

you're so concentrated

on this effort

I think you might be fraying

at the edges a little bit.

I'm only bringing this up

because I have an idea.

There's this woman

in Amagansett,

her name is Lauren.

[Sam]

I'm a bit of a cynic, you know?

I don't necessarily

participate in these

types of things.

She said:

"You've got to see Lauren,

she's a psychic in Amagansett."

I said, okay, well...

You know, I'm against it,

you know?

I'm not for it, I'm against it.

-I have just the thing for that.

-[Sam] I said

[gets scared]

-You gonna blow that on me?

-Mm-hmm.

Alright, I don't want

to do anything on my face.

-Okay? Can I cover my face?

-Are you ready?

Yes, absolutely.

But you've got to have

a little faith.

There's some sprinkle dust.

Okay, I see some bad news.

Okay, what kind of bad news?

It's pretty discouraging.

Uhm...

And I know Catherine

recommended you

and she wanted me to be

completely honest with you.

You're in over your head

and it's bringing

a lot of heavy stress upon you.

And, this musical

it's not going to be right

for you at all.

Did Catherine

mention the musical?

[Lauren] Absolutely not.

Please don't even

insult me like that.

Did I mention the musical?

[Lauren] No, never.

The universe mentioned

the musical to me.

The spirit world.

And I don't feel like

it's going to work for you,

-I'm so sorry.

-It's not working.

I can tell you

that much right now.

So I don't I mean

I appreciate

the validation and...

-Can I have one of these?

-[Lauren] Absolutely.

Please.

I know you stopped smoking.

Uhm.

I have. I don't smoke.

Do you have any more matches?

-[Lauren] There you go, my love.

-[sighs] Uhm, so...

Are the guides

making any suggestions

as to what I should be doing?

You should follow

your heart and your mind.

Yeah.

I don't know

who she thinks she is.

She can't just quit via email.

She owes me an in person

conversation at the very least.

I know she gets out

of rehearsal around this time.

I just want to make this

as graceful as

[gets scared]

There she is. Amanda!

Amanda. No.

I need you to reconsider.

-No filming.

-Amanda. No filming.

No, cameras down.

Amanda, I need you

to just please reconsider.

I can't do this

without you, Amanda.

[sighs]

A moment of silence.

I want everyone to breathe.

Everything's going to work.

[deep exhales]

[coughs]

Are you feeling okay, Thomas?

[Thomas] Oh yeah, I'm good.

So, a couple of company updates.

Amanda's no longer with us.

[Catherine] Oh!

She's alive

-[Lorenzo] Okay.

-[Catherine nervous chuckle]

[Lorenzo]

I thought you meant she's...

[Sam] Yeah. No.

But she didn't have

the bandwidth.

But I want to assuage any

concerns that anyone's having

because I promise you,

I've never failed at anything

and this is going to happen

one way or the other.

And I don't care what your

friend Lauren has to say.

Because I did pay her a visit.

-[Catherine] You did?

-I did.

Oh, good. I hope--

Did you-- How did it go?

[Sam] It was, to be expected.

She said we're f*cked.

She said we're doomed.

She told me not to do it.

[Catherine] Oh.

Statement as in like the color

-you think? Or pattern.

-Yeah.

I don't love a pattern.

-You don't like patterns.

-You know that,

-remember what happened?

-Yeah, I know.

But we could do something

fun like a green trouser,

maybe partner it

with something gray.

Edward, what do you think?

Pop of color?

I don't do anything

without Edward's approval

when it comes to fashion. What?

[Edward]

It would have to be all black.

He likes the all black.

You know what, though?

The thing is, on the red carpet,

you wanna stand out,

you wanna pop.

-Lisa.

-[Lisa] Yeah.

[Sam] I like these but I think

I'm gonna need the size up.

[Lisa] Okay.

[Sam] In these trousers.

I'll go pull you something else.

[Sam] The color block.

I have another pair for you.

Okay.

[Lisa] There's really nothing.

-[Sam]I love elastic.

-[Lisa]

I know but that's what

Jade's here for,

because we'll tailor it.

And I like the

Oh my god.

Definitely the sweater.

If not for the premiere just

for the personal collection.

[Lisa] Perfect.

-Alright, let me try these.

-[Lisa] Okay.

These don't feel

like an extra-large.

[Lisa]

-Well...

-[Lisa] I like the all black.

[Sam] I'm just a little--

If we could make these more

of a trouser. I think

-I would feel more confident.

-[Jade] It's possible.

You stand with a certain

confidence when you

-We have a seam right there.

-We have a seam.

[cell phone ringing]

Hello?

[Mike on phone]

Hey there Sam, it's Mike

I know. I know Michael,

what's going on?

[Mike] Uhm, well, I just got

off the phone with Tracy

and I have

some discouraging news.

[Sam] Cease and desist.

Copyright infringement.

To whom it may concern,

it has come to our attention

that your stage production,

Scream: The Musical

is identical to Scream ,

the work.

You neither requested

nor received permission

to use the work, therefore

your unauthorized copying

and use of the word constitutes

copyright infringement

in violation of the

United States copyright laws.

If you do not cease and desist

within the above stated

time period we'll be forced

to take appropriate

legal action against you

and will seek all available

damages and remedies.

What

the f*ck?

Dimension Films?

That doesn't even exist anymore.

That's Harvey Winstein's

company.

Is Harvey suing me?

That would be iconic

if it were the case,

but I'm just very perplexed.

If this is legitimate...

[on phone] When you are

finished recording,

you may hang up or press one

for more options.

[Sam] Hi Kristen, it's Sam.

Listen, as you know,

the studio came after me.

So with the musical

not happening

I'm gonna be taking

a more active role

in the direction of the behind

the scenes film

and I would love for you

to remain on board

as an Associate Producer.

And if so, I thought

maybe your first task

could be getting ahold of

the editor and arranging a time

for me to meet with her

in the city.

I really need to review

some of this footage

and see where things stand.

It's been interesting.

Sam, you know, he thinks

he can just plagiarize

a Broadway musical.

That-- You can't do that.

[Scott] He knows nothing

about comedy,

he knows nothing

about being funny.

And I've never worked

with somebody as difficult,

as one sided,

as short sided as Sam.

-[Michael] I'm Michael Mosley,

- Oh, god.

I am the theater manager of Bay

Street theater in Sag Harbor.

[Sam]

He asked me

to get binder clips.

I don't know

if it's just his style,

but the disorganization

has been frustrating to me.

We have no idea what we're

supposed to be doing.

You know Sam will say:

"You don't quite have it."

But he doesn't tell me

what's missing.

As an actor I'm really

looking for some direction.

[Ruby] I mean, it's grotesque.

It is it's thoroughly

beneath this theater.

We don't put out productions

like this, in this town.

We have taste,

we have integrity,

we've got morals.

We have been at the forefront

of guiding this town

culturally for decades.

-How many decades now?

-Decades.

And for them to stoop,

stoop I tell you,

to this level, is outrageous.

I don't know where they think

they're going with this either.

This town will not

put up with that.

[Ruby's husband] It's pathetic.

-[Sam] Are you feeling okay?

-Mm-hmm.

-Okay.

-Just-- Yeah.

[Sam] You know, Natalia,

you twisted this

so that I'm the villain

and it's all about

this failed musical.

But that's not

what this film is.

Okay, uhm...

What--

-[Natalia] What is the film?

-Well--

What is it, uhm--

What is the movie about?

I mean, it's a film

about perseverance

and it's about a young boy

and seeing his childhood

aspirations come to fruition.

Is there more footage?

Where that happens?

[Sam] There will be.

That's why we're still filming.

Because nobody wants

to see the film just end

with the hero having

their dreams crushed.

Who's the hero?

I'm the hero.

Or at least I will be

once this is fixed.

I mean, do you not

get that from this?

And if you don't,

that's a serious problem.

I was so impressed

when I saw your reel, Natalia.

You made that film

about the Ethiopian orphans,

you made the film about

the Peaceful Valley

Donkey Rescue.

That really resonated with me.

I don't care about donkeys.

How do we make people

care about me?

Everybody doubts me

and I'm gonna prove them wrong.

-[Sam] And that's the film

-Okay...

we need to make

and as the director,

I think that it's up to me

to kind of craft that vision.

-Okay?

-Okay.

-Yeah I got it. So...

-That's what this film's about.

It's to tell the Ruby Jackson's

of the world

to go f*ck themselves

and I'm gonna

prove you wrong, okay?

This film does not end

with the musical failing.

Do you understand that?

It ends

I don't know how it ends

at the moment,

we need to figure out

'cause the story's not over.

-Okay.

-The show must go on.

-Are you guys--

-That's the first thing

they teach you in film school.

How are we getting paid then?

You know,

the musical didn't happen,

but everything

happens for a reason

so we're really focused

on the film,

-the behind the scenes film.

-[Jennifer] Okay.

'cause documentaries are

really, really viable right now.

There's all these streamers,

the streaming wars.

Everybody's desperate

for content.

So we feel we have

an interesting story.

Oh, okay.

But it's not cheap

to make a movie.

You know?

You know, I think that we flew

too close to the sun,

I think that now what we need

to do is we need to pivot.

And we're going all in

on the film,

on the behind the scenes film.

Because I've seen the dailies,

I've seen some rough cuts.

Alan, you won't even believe.

It's such a profound,

poignant story about me

and this incredible ensemble

of people who rally around me

to try and bring this vision

to the stage

and kind of the trials

and tribulations of it all.

[Alan] What do you need?

What are you looking for?

Well, what I need really

to elevate the production,

is an investment.

And what I see is mass appeal.

You know? Us on the red carpet

at Cannes, at Venice.

It's so much far beyond

this regional theater.

And as the executive producer,

it would--

You know, it would be

Alan Ceppos Presents

or some verbiage to that effect.

You know, I think that--

[Alan] How much do you need?

Well, that's the question.

You know?

-And I think that the team--

-[Alan] Sam.

-[Alan] How much do you need?

-[Sam] and I are in the process

of putting a realistic budget.

Kind of line item by line item.

I think really, realistically

I've done things for--

-Sam, how much do you...

-We can do it for about

20,000 is kind of

my magic number.

I mean, like,

20,000 is all I need, Alan.

-I think with 20,000 dollars--

-Done.

Done.

Done with 20?

[Alan]

Oh my god, Alan, really?

-[Alan] Done.

-[Sam] Ohh!

No, you have no idea,

this will change my life,

the crews life,

20,000 dollars is all I need

to make this film.

So amaz--

Yeah. Well, that, I mean.

-[Alan] Done.

-Would you have said yes to 100?

We came up with the idea.

Why don't we do the whole

campaign for the film

in the city?

Connect the two worlds.

So the musical,

New York City, Broadway.

So we're here in front

of the Winter Garden Theater,

most iconic, you could argue.

Let's stay on me.

Let's stay on me,

we'll get that.

Uhm, most iconic

performing arts venue

in New York City

and we're gonna sh**t the key

art poster image for the film.

I've hired a photographer

at the last minute.

This all came together

at the last minute.

But we're very excited.

I'm gonna call Camila.

In the meantime,

can I have a hot dog, please?

[vendor]

-Pardon?

-[vendor]

A little mustard.

-[vendor]

-No ketchup.

On a hot dog? No.

Did I say hot dog?

I meant a pretzel. I'm sorry.

Ketchup on a pretzel?

Just a pretzel

with a little mustard.

[vendor]

No hot dog. Just a pretzel.

She was supposed

to meet me here,

we haven't spoken in person.

I just, she was referred--

-Pardon?

-[vendor] 4 dollars.

Four dollars?

Actually a steal. Thank you.

I haven't eaten a thing,

I've been a nervous wreck

all day.

Is that her?

Camila?

Are you Camila?

[Camila] Hola, como estas?

-Solo espanol?

-Solo espanol.

Okay, uhm...

Okay.

-So...

-[Camila speaking Spanish]

-Pardon?

-[Camila speaking Spanish]

Well, the idea is that

I'm in the costume

in front of the theater,

the Winter Garden theater

and we're gonna replace

the marquee and it will say

"Scream"

You know what?

Let me, I'm--

I don't know

if there's anyone here

maybe who could translate.

Only because I wanted

to give you feedback on...

Okay, uhm...

That's your camera?

Okay.

Let's just take some photos

and we'll see what happens?

You want a little pretzel?

-No, gracias.

-Alright.

[Sam] I need, like,

necesito direction .

Okay, let me just see

Can I?

Mira.

-Gracias.

-[Camila] Mm-hm.

Te gusta?

-No? Si?

-No.

No.

Sam, what about this barn

in Wainscott for 12,000 a month?

12,000? No, that's too much.

-Best deal on the market.

-Chris?

Hi, I can't see you.

-Oooh.

-[Chris] Is that better?

-Hi.

-[Sam] Hi.

Hi, do you want me

to call you back?

Your service is bad.

-Chris.

-Oh, sorry.

I saw the email but I only

read the subject line.

So, what's going on?

[man]

I'm taking your girl to London.

Yeah.

Oh my god, sorry to interrupt.

-6,600 in Sag Harbor.

-That's exciting.

What?

Oh no, I can't hear.

Chris, listen,

we can increase the per diem,

I just need you there

for an hour.

I literally need you there

for one hour.

You'd be the focal point

for the entire campaign.

[Jared] I found something

for 5,500 in East Hampton.

-How much?

-5,500 and it's in East Hampton.

-Its own private house

-[Sam] No. Not 5,500.

-No 5,500?

-No 5,500.

I mean...

[man]

Look she obviously adores you

but enough of this

small town bullshit,

it's time to move on.

I understand.

All I'm saying is,

can you delay the trip?

Do you have the Wi--

I mean, is there like a--

[Jared]

I understand.

Sorry, my Wi-Fi sucks

or maybe your Wi-Fi sucks.

But the point is, Chris,

this is just really unfortunate.

It's just really unfortunate

that, you know--

f*ck!

Mother--

I think I may have found

a more affordable option.

-So maybe that's good news.

-Okay, affordable good.

As much as I'd love

to live in Wainscott,

you're giving me these options

that are a little

unrealistic.

There's a one bedroom,

it's a little further away,

it's in Quogue

Okay. Jared.

-[Sam] Please, Jared.

-[Jared]

Jared, I'm not even

entertaining the thought.

I'm not moving to Quogue

so you can

Don't even.

I'm just saying,

Quogue could be very posh too.

Jared, I'm not moving to Quogue.

Thank you guys so much

for joining us today.

Just give us a sec.

As you know we're here

at the photo sh**t

for the marketing campaign

and the poster key art

for the film.

We're just going to take

everybody's portrait today.

Those of you who came, amazing.

We have to get

your release forms.

Mohna

joining the team as our official

publicist for the project.

[applause]

We've got a wonderful

photographer,

Jess in the house.

Let's hear it.

Let's give it up for Jess!

Alright let's do this guys.

Let's have fun!

Jess, can you take

one of me and Mohna?

[Jess] Perfect. Oh yeah.

Mohna

Just be careful

of my tether cord.

[Sam] Excuse me?

Oh, sh*t.

Nice.

-Mohna? Yeah.

-I think--

[Mohna] We're gonna have to--

[Sam] Alright, that's good.

[Sam]

No, don't unplug it. No, Mohna.

Why don't you, uhm...

-Okay, see? That I like.

-[Lisa] Yeah.

But Lisa, can we kind of zhuzh?

Let's part it.

I like this Jess,

I like this direction.

Do we have more wind?

No your eyes are closed babe.

I would--

Big, big, big bright.

But not too dark.

But you know what I mean.

Wide open, but dark.

I'm loving this, Catherine.

Give it to me, Catherine.

[Sam singing]

Give it to me, baby

Uh-huh, uh-huh

Give it to me, baby

Not so scared.

You are looking

as if you could be a suspect.

Everybody is a suspect.

No, no, no. No hood.

I want that beautiful gray,

uhm--

I want that beautiful

silver hair blowing in the wind.

[Lisa] And Jade, she needs

the back tied up here.

So, here's what--

-[Sam] Look at me.

-[Lisa] Yeah. Thank you.

-[Jade] I wonder how that--

-[Sam] It's got to be--

You know, statuesque.

This is a little:

[Sam]

Finally, it happened to me

-[Jess] A little closer.

-Right in front of my face

Who you talking to, baby?

That dance paper?

[giggles]

And I just cannot hide it

Beating the strife

[vocalizing]

No kissing the mask, baby girl.

[Sam] Prune.

Open your eyes, baby girl.

Prune.

Say the word "Prune", like

Mary-Kate Olsen.

Prune

It gives you a really

pronounced jawline.

Prune

You look great, okay?

Put this day down in history.

He gave me a compliment.

-Okay, alright.

-[Scott] Good for you.

I think that's a wrap on Scott.

Hmm!

Oh, actually,

that's a good one Scott.

I love it.

Wait, go back to the other one?

Oh, I'm sorry

Okay, absolutely not. Ruby.

Can you hold this?

I'm sorry.

I'm not doing it.

You are not invited to this.

You did not receive

a call sheet, did you?

We are doing a photo sh**t.

This is a private, closed set.

I hate to break it to you,

my dear,

-Where are your permits?

-you're not in this film.

You need to stop. What?

I want to see a license

for filming. You've got at least

ten people here.

-Who are you to request permits?

-[Ruby] They're in costumes,

We are doing everything

by the book.

You have no business being here.

We are doing this completely

union, we are completely union.

A license for lights. Fan?

I'm pretty hot in here,

you have no ventilation.

I want all manner of permissions

that you need to have people

on this site.

This woman is mentally deranged.

I'm sorry you have

to witness this.

-[Sam] Let me tell you something

-[Ruby] You got nothing.

You need to be escorted out.

I'm going to call

Ellen?

What are you even wearing?

What are you trying to do?

I just don't understand.

I think she's having

a mental break.

Okay. Scott, I can hear you.

Scott, do me a favor,

I don't need--

Okay? Enough out of you.

-Can someone get Ellen?

-[Ruby] I'll invite myself, Sam!

Mohna, can you do something?

You're on my payroll Mohna,

can you get Ellen?

You need to get the f*ck out

of my face. I am done.

I know exactly

what you're trying to do.

-[Ruby] You have no idea.

-[Sam] You're trying to do

what you did to the musical.

You are trying to ruin my film

and I will not let you do it.

I will not let you do it!

If you do anything

to interfere with this film

I swear to god, I will k*ll you.

You are a piece of sh*t.

[Ruby continues

to make accusations]

Is Gale Weathers in here

to calm him down?

Scott-- You keep looking.

You can look

Scott, enough, okay?

I just want you to go

to Gale Weathers

Keep talking about Gale Weathers

and it's going to be a problem.

-Okay?

-I'm on your side.

I'm trying to calm you down.

Scott, keep Gale's name

out of your mouth.

And let me tell you something

Keep Gale's name

out your f*cking mouth!

And you Ruby,

-you need to get out of here.

-[laughs]

-Somebody--

-[Ruby] I don't need to get out.

I need to be

-a responsible citizen.

-Where is Jess?

-Jess we need

-[Ruby continues arguing]

Let's continue--

I can't touch her.

Can you literally physically

escort this woman out of here?

Scott, you can go too.

I'm done with you.

Somebody take my picture,

I would like a portrait.

[Scott] Don't cry.

[Sam] Mohna,

get her out of here.

[Scott] Is Gale Weathers in here

to wipe his tears?

Scott!

[operator] You've reached

Sag Harbor National Bank.

How can we help you?

Representative.

[operator]

I'm sorry. I didn't get that.

How can we help you today?

Representative.

[operator] To continue

in English, please press one.

Please tell us

the reason for your call.

Overdraft Reversal.

How the hell did you go

through 20,000 dollars?

What do you mean, Lisa?

What do you think?

Things are for free?

Things cost money, Lisa.

I had to rent LTV

for the photo sh**t,

I had to pay the photographer.

Overdraft reversal.

Mohna's on a f*cking retainer

costing me an arm and a leg.

Representative.

I had to pay off

my American express balance.

I was still in debt

from the musical.

So now I'm just trying

to get ahead.

Representative!

Do you know how to use this?

I keep getting an error message.

-[operator] How can we help you?

-Representative!

Shane. Shane.

With the tips

does it go in the

Hi, how are you?

[Berfin] Sam?

-[Sam] Yeah.

-[Berfin]

-[Sam] Berfin! Oh my god, hi!

-How are you?

-How are you?

-It's so good to see you.

[Sam] Likewise. Oh my god.

So good to see you.

How is everything?

[Berfin]

I'm good.

[Berfin]

-Oh, with the musical?

-[Berfin] Yeah.

You know

[blender whirring

in the background]

Sadly the musical

never happened.

-Ahh.

-[Sam] I know.

Well, everything

happens for a reason.

-[Berfin] Sure, sure.

-Yeah. But, uhm...

You know,

we're still working on the film,

the behind the scenes,

-the documentary.

-Of course.

So we're hopeful

that the film will sell

and I'd love for you

to be a part of it.

-[Berfin] Amazing.

-Did we ever get

a release from you?

[Berfin]

I understand you're intimidated

by my greatness,

so you're upset

that you can't keep up.

I understand this,

but you have to channel

your inner self

I'm gonna bash

your f*cking face in.

[Scott] See? That's not right.

There are union rules

about that.

I don't give a f*ck

about the union Scott!

[Scott]

I'm not cleaning this up

This is playing

a little too long.

Oof.

Oh my god.

I need a f*cking nose job.

Oof.

[exhales]

What is this?

Oh, no, no, no, no.

No, no, no. No, no. Uhm...

Does anyone have--

Is Natalia...

I've got to get in touch

with Natalia.

Did she sign an NDA?

Lulu?

Damn, the connection.

Yeah, hello.

Hi, can you hear me, Lulu?

[Lulu on phone]

Yeah, I just wanted to, uhm...

You know, hear more

about your project.

Yeah, so, Jessica

from James Lane Post

suggested that I reach out,

she said that you were

a phenomenal video editor

and sent me a link.

I saw all your Tik Toks,

I thought they were fantastic.

And in a nutshell I've been

working on a feature film

for quite some time

and my editor

is actually on maternity leave,

she just had a little baby girl,

so she's unavailable

and there's actually

a specific portion of the film

that I need removed.

Is that something

you might be able to help with?

I feel like, yeah--

We can talk about, you know,

more specifically the scope

and the budget

and I'm happy to, uhm...

To be a part of this project.

You know, I used to take on

every single passion project.

"Okay, yes."

Now I'm like:

"Oh sh*t, how do I pay rent?"

So yeah, if this pays, uhm...

-Okay, Leah.

-[Lulu] Then I'll do it.

I love Jessica,

she's wonderful.

Yeah, Jessica's great.

No, we love James Lane.

As far as the budget,

to be transparent,

it is an indie film so it is

sort of shoe string so to speak.

I don't know that

you'll be able to cover rent

with this project.

You know

We're having a little

dinner party after the premiere

which you'll be invited to,

of course,

and then

We can talk about

maybe points on the back end.

I want to keep it simple

and obviously cost effective.

I'm cool with just choice

of branzino or the chicken

but I wanted to say

green circle,

free range, heritage chicken

and then the tiramisu.

And then for the alcohol,

I think

It's a week day.

It's not like people will be

ripping shots of Don Julio.

So, pour a white and a red.

[caterer]

Wine, beer and soda would work.

Wine, beer and soda, right.

And we can run a tab

or do cash bar

if anyone does want

hard alcohol.

We'll run a cash bar.

I'm not paying for it.

They'll pay for it themselves.

-[caterer] Right.

-[Sam] So...

You can do a Pouilly-Fume

and then a Pinot Noir.

The student loan forgiveness?

I think it was like

a 10,000 dollars

if you meet certain criteria.

Now I know for a fact

that I meet that criteria.

So I was just curious about

what is the--

What is the process?

Do I have to apply for it?

Do I have to--

[indistinct]

Right.

So in order to successfully

host this event

I need Mohna

to finalize the press release,

we need the invite or at least

the save the date at this point.

We have the date, right?

We're going to do

the 17th, we said?

Unless we don't do the 17th?

Unless we get into the festival.

Which is-- That would be

-[Kristen] Oh my god.

-dream case scenario.

-That's a good problem to have.

-[Kristen] There's a lot of--

Variables, unknowns.

Like, when are we going

to find out if we're

in the film festival?

I have to meet

with the programmers.

I'm going to have a scheduled

meeting with them.

-When?

-I'm working on it with Carole.

-That's why I want to have--

-[cell phone ringing]

[gasps in amazement]

What?

Oh, f*ck!

-[Kristen] What?

-Queen Elizabeth died.

Ohh. Oh, no!

Oh, no.

f*cking b*tch!

The queen?

Just the timing of it.

[Kristen] Oh my god.

What are we gonna do?

[Kristen]

I have the

press release coming out.

This is going to dominate

the headlines for weeks.

She was 96.

Oh, no. I thought she would

hang on for another

couple weeks at least.

You seem very upset.

I know. I've got to call Mohna.

I can't--

We've got to delay everything.

I'm not gonna compete

with this for press.

Are you kidding me right now?

You have nine of the Nitza

and 12 of the Corsica

so I'll order more

of the Corsica.

Why do you have all of these

Martinelli's, by the way?

The sparkling cider.

Shane?

What?

-I mean, this is slander.

-[Shane] It's not good.

-It's not good.

-[Shane] Not good.

How could they print this?

"Sag Harbor native

Ruby Jackson had this to say:

'Sam is in an embarrassment.

An embarrassment to theater,

an embarrassment to Sag Harbor

and an embarrassment

to mankind at large.'"

-I mean

-[Shane] Not good.

f*cking Lulu!

I should have known.

I never should have trusted her,

that f*cking infant editor.

I've got to call Mohna.

We've got to do--

We've got to do damage control.

[voicemail] Your call

I need every issue of this.

I need--

[voicemail] at the tone,

please, record your message.

[Sam] Do me a favor,

ask Savannah if she can send

somebody out on the streets.

Mohna, it's Sam. Listen.

[Shane] What is this f*cking

movie even about?

[Sam] Have you seen

James Lane Post ?

They've done an awful

character assassination

piece on me.

Did you send them a list

of the questions, Mohna?

Uh, no. Not yet.

What do you mean?

I had said to send them a list

of the questions or at least

Well, we were still going

to go over them together.

No we went over them.

I sent them to you.

Well, okay, I...

Alright, well I've got to--

Can you run down

to the studio and speak with--

Okay, yeah. Yeah.

Make sure that they know

everything that is the least...

Yes.

I don't even care so much

about what they ask me

it's about what they

can't ask me.

[Mohna] Okay.

That was what we were

going to discuss, but

I will check on that.

Give me a second.

I want to go there with you.

-[Mohna] You do? Okay. I will.

-Yeah. Wait.

Let her blend.

-Can you--

-Thank you.

So she knows

not to ask me this one?

Yes. Yeah, I told her.

Oh, this is nice.

[Mohna] We're actually not here.

We're down the hallway.

I like this.

I have to follow you, babe.

-I don't know where I'm going.

-[Mohna] Exactly.

-[Sam] Studio four.

-[Mohna] There you are.

[Sam] Hello.

[Judy] Hello. Are you Sam?

[Sam] I am.

Okay guys in the control room,

can you queue up

the intro please?

-[man] Alright.

-That would be great.

That would be great. Thank you.

[man] four, three, two...

[mysterious music plays]

This is the intro for the show?

-[Judy] Yes.

-And this is broadcast?

Yes, on every show.

So it will be the intro

for your show.

And we're about to begin.

-Three, two, one.

-I should look at you?

Hello, and welcome

to The Ladies Room.

My guest today is producer

and filmmaker Sam Pezzullo,

and you're working on a...

Uh, uhm, uh

Scream.

The musical the movie,

the movie the musical.

-Yes.

-And you're using local talent.

Yes.

That you met at the Improv,

a thing at Bay Street.

No? You didn't meet them

at Bay Street?

We... Well, hello.

Hello. Nice to have you here!

Thank you for having me, and...

[clattering commotion]

Is that the control?

Are we live?

Live on tape, yes.

So this is not airing

at the moment?

[Judy]

It's not airing at the moment,

but it will be airing

in a day or two.

What is-- Mohna.

There's been so much

miscommunication.

-It's gonna be fine.

-[Sam] Okay.

[Judy]

What are we dealing with today?

What is the issue that we're--

The issue is that some

of your viewers may have read

-an article recently.

-Okay.

And they did an awful character

assassination piece on me.

Why would they do that?

That's a great question, Judy.

And it's something

that me and my legal team

are in the process

of investigating.

What I'd like to do today

is I would like to

go on the record.

I'm gonna look at them.

I would like to go

on the record to refute

the claims made against me

in this publication.

And as a citizen

of this community.

This wonderful community

that I am proud to be part of,

I am proud to be a part of

the Hamptons community Judy

and I will not allow

some publication

to smear my name

and my reputation.

Wow, you are really passionate.

I am impassioned.

[Judy] Wow.

So they've already

selected all the films.

They have. And now I'm sure

he's talking to everybody

individually.

Kevin Coffey.

I don't know what

the schedule was in there.

But there's still all these

TBAs, so that means

They printed this weeks ago

so there are still opportunities

to select films.

That's true and there's a TBA

so maybe your film

could actually be in.

We've got to make this

as graceful as possible, Carole.

introduce you to

a filmmaker friend of mine.

[Sam] Who's Anna?

I think she's

the programming coordinator.

No.

I don't want the coordinator.

Oh no, I think that Megan's

the director now

and Anna is the programming--

Maybe manager.

No, she's probably coordinator.

David's the one

that calls the shots.

Everything's got to go

through David, absolutely.

And that's Megan.

Right, exactly.

[Carole] And in the very

beginning too

there's a headshot of him.

-Yeah.

-Where?

[Carole] Hold on.

Right here on the very--

-I know what he looks like.

-Right here.

-He wears glasses.

-Right here.

-Yeah.

-Okay?

He looks like

that today, actually.

[Sam] Anna looks great.

-[Carole] Yeah, she does.

-Is that him?

-Yes, it is.

-Oh, sh*t!

[honks]

-Go, go, you know him.

-[Carole] Yeah, yeah.

David

Carole had mentioned

she was gonna

arrange an opportunity

for us to meet and sit down.

-I thought maybe we could

-[David] Is that right?

have a quick lunch.

A quick lunch. My treat.

Tutto.

Do you know Tutto in Sag Harbor?

-Impossible.

-Yes, I know Tutto. When?

-We're sorry--

-You want to go now?

[David] I'm hungry.

Yeah, yeah. You come. Megan

[Carole]

You know how to get there?

You're going to come to

Tutto? We're going to do lunch.

My treat, okay?

[David] Kettle One martini

with a twist please.

[Megan] Make that two.

-[waiter] Got it.

-[Carole] Make that three.

[waiter] Three.

Alright,

I'll join the bandwagon.

I'll do a Kettle One martini,

but with olives please.

Extra cold.

Three olives, please.

And the ice from the shaker

on the side.

-[waiter] Definitely.

-That's like an extra drink.

-It's a tip a bartender told me.

-[David] Wow.

[waiter] Do we want that

across the board?

Shaker ice on the side

for everyone?

[David and Megan]

I'm okay, thanks.

-[waiter] Just making sure.

-And then I guess--

Did you guys have a chance

to look at the menu?

Let's definitely do

the Pane Carasau,

we'll do a burrata,

we'll do a Parmigiana,

maybe a Tutto ensalata.

[waiter] Perfect.

Can I have a frittata, please?

-[waiter] Of course.

-Thank you.

[Carole]

I'll have the soup, please.

[Sam] Are you good

with all that or--

Yeah, I'm good with that.

So the TBA's that are in here

are going to be announced?

Or they have been selected,

or they haven't been selected?

They are, as the name implies,

to be announced.

But we just don't know

what they're gonna be yet.

But the idea

of adding a new film.

I don't know, it's hard to say

having not seen the film,

We can get you the screener,

-I mean we're

-Well [giggles].

We don't have a lot of time

to see the film at this point.

But, uhm, perhaps a toast

-to next year's festival

-[Megan] Yes.

in the hopes that maybe we'll

see your film next year.

Which will be upon us

before you even know it.

I assure you, it's the way

it feels every year.

I know it flies by, huh?

[David] That is good.

[Carole]

You could start submitting

When do you start

accepting submissions?

[indistinct chatter]

-[Sam] Mmmmm.

-[Kristen] Oh my god.

Thank you.

[Kristen] What a treat.

-[Kristen] That looks delicious.

-[Mohna] Oh, sorry.

That's the Osietra?

-Was this the Osietra?

-[waiter] Yes, sir.

Did you have the creme fraiche?

[Mohna] The creme fraiche

with the caviar is delicious.

And it's half off at happy hour.

[Kristen] Is it really?

Yeah. That's why I come here.

Uhm. Anyway, listen.

The meeting with the programmers

went really well.

I think David in particular

seemed really enticed by it.

And they're not off put

by the run time.

I mean, it's a film,

it's not a long Tik Tok,

is what I keep saying.

Oh, there's Judy.

Judy McDowell

from The Ladies Room.

-[Mohna] Just walked in?

-[Sam] Yeah. Oh.

[Sam] Oh.

-[Sam] Oh, god.

-[Mohna] With her?

-Oh, god.

-[Kristen] What?

-Ruby.

-[Kristen] Oh, god.

-[Kristen] That's weird.

-[Mohna] Oh, great.

[Kristen] What a weird, odd...

[Mohna]

I was gonna say, the three--

[Kristen] bunch of people

hanging out.

-[Mohna] Those three together...

-[Sam]

[indistinct chatter]

[Kristen] Just ignore them.

[Sam]

-[Kristen] Eat some caviar.

-[Mohna] Drink some champagne.

[Mohna] What, do you think they

know you're here?

I don't know.

-[Kristen] Disengage. Ignore it.

-[Mohna] Okay.

-Jessica.

-[Mohna] Just-- No.

-I read the article.

-[Kristen] Don't!

I read the article.

-Not nice. Not Nice.

-[Mohna] That's--

And she was quoted

so I know that the three of you

are in cahoots.

I know exactly

what you're up to lady.

I'm sorry.

I know what you're up to.

-Yeah. It's a take down.

-[Mohna] It's not going to help.

[Kristen] Just stop yelling at

them at a restaurant.

[Mohna] We're gonna get

some more caviar.

Everything's fine.

Just take the whole thing.

We're done.

You think

that was nice, Jessica?

[Kristen] Oh my god, Sam!

[Mohna]

Didn't we just say you--

-And Ruby?

-[Kristen] Stop.

I'm an embarrassment

to mankind at large?

You think that was nice?

[Kristen] I'm gonna go

if you're gonna act like this.

No, no.

[Mohna] Settle down.

Plotting a f*cking

ABC news expose.

I'm done with it.

-[Kristen] This is embarrassing.

-[Mohna] Did we order something?

We ordered more caviar Mohna,

it's coming.

-[Kristen] We're fine.

-Exactly what you're doing,

I know exactly

what you're up to,

and I won't let you

get away with it, Ruby.

I will not let you

get away with it.

[Mohna]

[panting]

But really the big priority

Kristen, please,

is the apartment search.

I can't keep living like this.

I need you to call

everybody in the area.

I need you to call

all the top agents,

Alessander, Catherine,

Casey, Nikko,

Patrick, Paulina.

Just tell them, flexible budget,

East of Southampton only.

-Have some water.

-[Sam] I'm gonna...

What else? I wanna--

Uhm, what about venues

for the screening?

-[Sam] Anything come to mind?

-Uhm.

Sag Harbor Cinema?

-They're booked.

-[Kristen]

Bay Street? I mean...

Listen, uh.

It occurred to me,

we have an existing

relationship,

not that they owe me one,

but I could easily

reconnect with Michael

and see if they'd even

be open to it.

I think,

under these circumstances,

we would just be renting the

venue, but how do we pay for it?

That's why we need

the sponsorship dollars.

I think it's great that

they came down in the price

but I don't want to be there.

I don't want to be any

further West than Southampton.

I know you might disagree

but I feel like it's just

kind of has that stigma

that low rent.

Do me a favor,

send me a couple more options

we'll look at them this weekend.

Yeah. Alright? Take care. Bye.

So it's the chin,

this neck part that bothers you?

It's the neck, uhm...

-In particular, it's the neck.

-Okay.

My nose is a whole other

ball of wax.

I want to do eventually

a little lift.

Because I feel like

from wearing a mask

during COVID,

it permanently dented

I think it's dented,

I really do.

We can absolutely

get rid of some of this fat.

I inject it with a little

solution that dissolves the fat

or we can do

a little liposuction.

As you said,

slimming down those cheeks

What about the nose?

[Dr. Stephen]

We have to do your nose,

so we have to do a rhinoplasty

and I go from the inside.

There's no scars.

But there are nice easy

natural things that we can do.

I hate when things look fake

and in you we can really

just tweak your nose,

get rid of that hump you have,

make it straighter

and a little bit more refined.

-That will look really nice.

-Okay.

When you say the hump,

because I didn't--

We've got to do this.

We've got to start there.

The consult fee is applied

towards the procedure?

-[Dr. Stephen] Absolutely.

-Okay.

-Do I want more of an arch?

-[notification chime]

We pull up

the eyebrows sometimes

[sharp intake of breath] Oh!

"Sag Harbor residents

are mourning the tragic loss

of one of the communities

most beloved residents.

Ruby Jackson, 71,

was k*lled on Friday

when she was struck

by an unidentified SUV

traveling southbound

on route 114.

She was struck

by a vehicle from behind

Eyewitnesses claim

a black midsize SUV

was seen shortly after,

speeding erratically

down the road.

Police are scouring the area

for vehicles that match

the description."

Oh my god.

What a tragedy.

Oh my god.

[tongue click]

Tragic.

[Mohna] Is this the first time

you're here?

-[Sam] At this event, yeah.

-[Mohna] Okay.

[indistinct chatter]

Do you want to just

walk through and, uhm...

Yeah, you lead the way.

Maybe get a drink.

-Yeah. Alright.

-I might need one.

Alright.

We can just follow

right through.

Oh, that's, uhm--

There's a couple people

here I know that I probably

-don't want to run into.

-Oh, okay.

So, my Mom is like--

She's a local out here,

she knows Sam.

She took me to...

I thought it was gonna be lunch.

It ended up being a rehearsal

Uhh, for his musical.

This is Mohna, my publicist.

-This is Wendy. Wendy Federman.

-Nice meeting you.

She's a world renowned

Broadway producer,

-multiple Tony Award winner.

-[Mohna] Fantastic.

We were in touch early on

in the development

of the musical.

And then we've barely

seen Sam in a while,

and now we're at this event and

I guess he's networking

his a*s off in there

and I think

he probably needs it.

I guess he's making a movie now?

Some ferkakte movie.

[laughs]

-Caroline.

-Yes.

Caroline. We go way back.

Sweet Caroline

Ba, ba, bum

I'm not sure who Sam really is.

I think he came here to

The Women in Film brunch

to try to find someone

to work with him,

with the film to get it

shown at festivals,

to get it shown onto

Netflix or something.

I don't even know

what the film's about.

You know she asks kind

of a provocative question

which is, you know

"Is this a film that

women would want to see?"

Uh-huh.

Yeah, and they see

-[Adriana] Women like sci-fi.

-[Sam]

-[Adriana] Yeah.

-[Sam]

-[Adriana] ...in taste.

-[Sam]

[Sam]

-[Mohna] Yes.

-[Sam]

[Mohna]

[Sam]

[Mohna]

Unfortunately the musical

never did make it to the stage,

but you know,

we're forging ahead

-and we're trying to really

-Yes!

People are coming back

to theaters.

Yeah, absolutely.

One of the reasons we came here

was to meet the wonderful women

in our community.

-Who are

-Yes.

Yes!

-the trailblazers

-Big changes.

Wonderful women that also

moved out here from the city.

-Monolithic in their...

-Yes.

In their thinking. And, uhm...

Because that's what our film

is really going to be about,

is about, you know

Non-monolithic

-Monolithic women.

-women.

[honks]

Red carpet and step and repeat

on that wall versus this wall.

So I figure there,

where the box office is

we could have somebody stationed

for check in with a clipboard,

we'll check their names,

plus one, no plus one.

Do you have stanchions?

-Sure. Yeah.

-You do?

'Cause that's the one thing

I hadn't thought about.

If we get hundreds of people,

I'm worried about crowd control.

If the step and repeat were here

we could do 11X

I would hate to cover up

all your donors,

but how important are they?

Anonymous? Nobody even

I'd be fine with doing it there,

but Tracy usually likes

the red carpet things

to be over here.

I feel like I have

my marching orders from you.

-[Michael] Fantastic.

-[Sam] I will connect with Tracy

and we will make

a decision on which side.

I'll get the DPC for the QC,

and the stanchions,

you'll let me know.

-[Michael] I'll keep you posted.

-Alright.

It was good to see you.

[Michael] Great to see you too.

And, I will, uhm...

-[Sam] I will keep in touch.

-[Michael] Wonderful.

And, uhm...

Alright. I like your haircut.

[Michael] Hey.

Yeah, sorry I'm late.

I just got done

with the meeting with Sam,

I can't f*cking stand

this as*h*le anymore.

Like all he's doing is taking

these g*dd*mn measurements

for the red carpet

And like, everyone's supposed to

be on this f*cking list and he--

[man]

Hi, Lisa! How are you?

[Lisa on phone] I'm great Sam,

so good to see you.

-You too. You look great!

-Thank you.

I'm here with Jade,

we're doing the pants.

Love 'em.

I love the short coat.

I love the vintage

struggling filmmaker vibe.

My only concern is that

it's the same color

as the step and repeat

and I don't want to blend in.

Okay, so how about a shearling

coat, something to fit--

[Sam] Oh, I love--

[Lisa] and go with the vibe.

Yeah, I love a shearling coat.

So you can pull that

and you'll send it to me?

Yeah, no problem.

I'll send it out to you.

But you're going to be back

in town for the premiere?

-You'll be back?

-Yes, of course.

I'm coming home

from Palm Beach. I can't wait--

-[Sam] Ah, you're in Palm Beach?

-[Lisa] Yup.

Ohh, say "hi" to everybody.

Who's there?

I would normally be there

this time of year

[Lisa] I know, we miss you.

[Sam] You know what, Lisa?

[Lisa] Yeah?

I'm getting another call,

let me get this.

I will call you back.

We'll send pictures

from the fitting.

[Lisa] Sounds good. Okay, bye.

Okay, bye.

Ah.

Huh.

[Sam] I mean, that did not feel

routine whatsoever. Okay?

They were asking me all of these

really invasive questions.

I mean, like:

"How did you know her?

What kind of tires do you have?

Where were you?"

I'm just like: "Excuse me"

It's nobody's business

where I was.

I was not on route 114,

that's all they need to know.

And I'm just like:

[disgusted sigh]

I told them the truth, Lisa,

I'm just not revealing

specifically where I was.

Like...

No, it is my right, okay?

If I was dealing

with a personal,

confidential matter,

I'm not inclined to tell them.

The whole thing feels like

really, you know, coincidental.

With the premiere coming up,

it's yet another attempt

to sabotage me, this woman.

I mean, she's dead,

but it's like, I swear she like:

[exhales]

[screams] Jesus!

[woman laughs]

-I wasn't prepared for that.

-[Sam] I wasn't either.

You-- [laughing]

I was going to suggest

waiting for Savannah, but...

We plan and God laughs.

-[Sam] Oh my.

-[Lisa Gallo] All good.

Good job. Cheers!

-Whoo!

-[Lisa Gallo] Whoo!

-[Lisa Gallo] Do we want mimosas

-To the premiere.

[Lisa Gallo] Yeah!

[Sam] Can we get some hands?

I need to put sunscreen on.

Is that key

for the poster thing?

-[man] No.

-No? Okay.

Well...

Ugh!

[exhales]

-I knew this would happen.

-[Kristen] What?

I just should not have done

this f*cking keratin thing!

-Your hair looks amazing.

-No, it doesn't.

It looks like hot fudge.

I hate my outfit.

[sighs]

Can you see if Lisa

can get me that coat?

Just text her, she knows

what I'm talking about,

Text her and say: "Do you have

the shearling coat?"

[Kristen] Okay.

[Kristen] My god.

It's like not dry or wet,

I don't know what's going on!

My beautiful curls.

-[Kristen] Shearling coat?

-[yelling] Shearling coat!

[Kristen] Oh, my f*cking god.

[sighs]

[exhales]

-[Sam] This is it.

-[Kristen] Today is the day!

-I know.

I'm sorry about that moment, I--

-Go ahead.

-No, what were you saying?

I was going to say

it would be my honor

if you would introduce me after

the screening for the Q&A.

-Ohh, I would love to!

-[Sam] Will you?

-Of course.

-[Sam] Okay.

That's a very big moment,

a very big kind of honor

to be the person

I could have asked Alan to do it

as the executive producer,

but I was like no,

I want Kristen to do this.

You have been with me

since the very beginning

and that means the world to me.

Like all joking

and bullshit aside,

I love you, I appreciate you

and it would mean the world

to me if you do it.

[Kristen] It would be my honor.

-I wrote a little something.

-Oh, yeah.

So you can literally

just read this verbatim.

-Okay, verbatim.

-And it's boilerplate.

It's the kind of stuff

that every screening has.

So it's: "Thank you to our

sponsors." Yadda yadda.

Don Julio, very important.

The smoothest anejo.

There's a land acknowledgment.

All of that mumbo jumbo.

-Do I have time to practice?

-You can practice,

But I think it's going

to flow naturally.

And feel free to improvise,

do whatever you want,

but this is your moment,

-My moment?

-I love you. I love you!

Ow! Take the moment, okay?

I'm numb.

I'm numb from the Don Julio

Anejo 1942, which is so smooth.

Can you take a shot with me

and then say after you take it:

"Oh my, that was so smooth?"

I'll take the little one, yeah.

-Take the little one.

-[Kristen] Thank you.

-Cheers, babe.

-Cheers.

To Scream: The Musical

the Documentary.

Whatever it is.

What do you mean

"Whatever it is"?

You know what it is.

-[Sam] What?

-[reporter] Who are you wearing?

Oh, my family's here! Sorry.

Guys, come on down.

Come on the red carpet.

Kristen.

Hi, Livy. This is my niece!

I know,

this is my movie premiere.

Ah, she's crying.

I want to hold Adelina

-for photo.

-No!

-Come on, my dearest niece.

-[screams]

-Let me hold her real quick.

-[screaming]

This is my youngest niece.

Oh, Alan. Here come take her.

Alan? Alan?

This is Alan.

He's the executive

producer of the film.

-Alan, thank you for being here.

-Alright.

You'll see the film tonight,

but it really does

defy expectations.

It is truly about

one man's journey

to discover himself.

It's about perseverance

and it's about triumph.

These are our auction winners,

Richard and Deb.

They bid on this experience.

Berfin!

Everybody this is not real fur.

No, we don't believe in, uh...

In a... You know

-[Lisa] You look fabulous.

-[Sam] Ooh!

-I love you.

-[Lisa] Love you too.

-Alright, see you inside.

-See you inside.

It's really about

one man's journey

to, you know,

pursue his passions and--

Oh my god! Hi!

-I thought we were gonna kiss.

-[Savannah] Were we?

[indistinct chatter]

God, the sun.

We love Sharon.

[reporter]

Yes, this my Women

on the Money bag.

And, uh, it pays homage

to great women.

We love-- This is such

a female empowerment story.

-Yes, it is.

-Right here.

This is the face

of female empowerment.

Made in Italy.

Alright, this is not QVC.

-[Sharon] Yes.

-[Sam] Right.

Sharon.

[reporter]

You know, I will just say that--

You know,

it's a terrible tragedy.

And we as a society need to be

more cognizant of joggers.

Uhm, and we need to

widen the bike lanes.

We need to do better.

And my heart goes out

to her and her entire family.

And let's honor the legacy

of Ruby everybody.

For Ruby.

[applause]

[on screen] My name is Sam,

I am a producer and I have a

background in musical theater.

[Sam] Ooh, I'm sorry.

[on screen] I could attempt

to produce an existing musical.

Like Annie or Damn Yankees,

something I've been in

that I know.

[on screen] Or I could do

something totally bold and

unexpected and audacious.

The wig was so atrocious

She did not look anything like

Casey Becker. She looked like

She looked like Debbie

from Addam's Family Values.

Joan Cusack in Addam's Family.

Catherine's wonderful,

very, very cheerful.

Like to the point

where I'm almost like--

It's like a cry for help.

Scott, who plays Dewey,

has been problematic, I admit.

And I probably

make matters worse

because we just clashed.

Like our personalities are

just very, very different.

I know that he

is very well respected.

Hi, how are you?

Mohna, correct?

-Is that you?

-Yes. Correct.

-Mr. Baker?

-Yep.

How are you doing?

I'm Detective Stone.

-Nice to meet you.

-[Stone] How you doing?

A couple questions I'd like

to ask, if you don't mind.

Are you aware of the incident

that took place in Sag Harbor?

A motor vehicle accident?

-You read about it?

-Yeah.

[Stone] Okay. And you know

the outcome of the incident?

-I heard she didn't make it.

-[Stone] Right.

You know who else was involved?

Do you know

Do you know Sam?

Hmm. Yes.

My opinion of him?

It's not a very high one.

This is not Mohegan Sun,

this is Bay Street Theater.

-You know, I--

[Kristen] It's fine.

You have one job and you

refuse to do it.

And it's not

that he can't do it.

Because I know

he's refusing to do it.

He's deliberately

pushing my buttons.

Deliberately antagonizing me

and get a rise out of me.

And it's working

and it's frustrating.

[sighs]

-Hi. Your name is

-Hi.

-Catherine Bromberg.

-[Stone] Catherine, okay.

-Hi.

-How are you doing?

-I'm Detective Stone.

-Hi.

-I've a few questions for you.

-Hi.

And what do you think of him?

[inhales] Uhm...

[sniffs]

Hard question to answer.

Do you think he may have been

involved in this accident?

[stammering]

I don't know.

[Stone] Do you know if he

was involved with Ruby?

-You mean romantically?

-[Stone] Uh-huh.

There was definitely tension.

I don't know the source,

but there was tension.

I heard there was some

tension between them.

-Yeah.

-Do you know what caused that?

Ruby wanted to shut him down

and this is Sam's

passion project.

-Ohh.

-He loves Scream.

Do you think

he's capable of m*rder?

-Absolutely.

-[Stone] You do?

-Why do you think that?

-I see it in his eyes.

[Sam on screen] And then you

have the old guards.

You have crotchety,

older people.

Who just have a chip

on their shoulder.

And who are angry that

Bay Street is allowing me

to produce a musical version

of Scream as oppose to

a more traditional musical

or play.

I don't know why they're so--

To the point where they have to

go around town

disparaging my name

and my reputation

but also Bay Street's.

What are they hoping to gain

by picketing outside

and telling people

to not buy tickets.

Do you think he's capable

of hurting anyone?

-Yeah.

-[Stone] Yeah?

Do you think

he could k*ll someone?

Well...

-I mean...

-[Stone] It's pretty serious.

I-- I didn't, but then--

I've seen him go

into some passionate rages.

Crazy. No, crazy.

Obviously, like

[Sam on screen] ...a young

person coming into town

and changing it. And so

they're threatened by it.

That's the only logical

explanation I can think of.

[Stone] Do you think Sam

may have been involved

in this vehicular accident

in any way, shape or form?

I would like to play

something for you, if I may.

-Right.

-So

[voicemail] Mohna, it's Sam.

Listen. Have you seen

James Lane Post?

They've done an awful character

assassination piece on me.

This f*cking b*tch,

Ruby, is quoted.

I'm gonna k*ll this woman

if I ever see her again.

I need you to call me back

as soon as you get this.

We've got to do damage control.

[cheering and applause]

They're standing!

Are they standing

or they leaving?

[Kristen] I think they're

standing. They're clapping.

Ha, ha, ha!

f*ck yes!

Oh my god, we got to do the

intro. We gotta go down.

-[Kristen] sh*t.

-Wait, do you have the paper?

I have the paper.

-Wait!

-[Kristen] What? Okay.

I'm going to be waiting

backstage on the ramp.

[Kristen] The ramp, okay.

I want to make an entrance so

you're going to be like:

"Okay, so--"

How was it everyone?

[cheering and applause]

[whistling]

Amazing.

First and foremost, thank you

so much for being here.

This is a labor of love for Sam.

He's worked

so incredibly hard on this.

And I know he is so honored

to have all of you here

to see it.

I am going

to get this show on the road.

So, before I invite

Sam out for the Q&A

I would just like to say

that I'm so grateful

to have been given

the opportunity

to shadow this visionary talent

and bear witness to his

dedication and perseverance.

I have learned so much from Sam.

Most importantly,

how to foster a collaborative

and respectful creative

environment with a diverse team

on both sides of the camera,

where everyone has a voice

and is given

a platform to shine.

-Right? Yeah.

-[smattering of clapping]

Thank our sponsors.

Sagtown Coffee,

-Don Julio Tequila

-[officer 1]

Haul Stein Co-- Paul Stein Water

[officer 2]

Classy Canine Dog Groomers,

Southampton

[officer 1]

-And Alan Ceppos.

-[officer 1]

-Alan, thank you so much!

[officer 2]

If I could just ask that

maybe we put a pin in this

for 30 seconds, I'm about to--

[officer 2] Absolutely not. We

need to speak to you right now.

-Give me like--

-[officer 2] Sir, we're gonna--

-Absolutely not sir.

-Let's discuss this in the back.

-We need to talk.

-[officer 1] Let's go sir.

If there are any buyers

-[officer 1] Sir, please.

-[officer 2] Do not resist.

[officer 1] We have to bring

you down to the station.

-[Sam] This is mortifying

-[officer 1] Sir, please.

[Sam] Let me say something.

I had a long conversation

with your team.

A very, very civil,

cordial conversation.

So I don't know where

this is coming from.

[officer 2]

Finally, as something

we did often on the set...

Now is not a good time!

I have a lot

We'd like to acknowledge...

-I'd be happy to cooperate--

-[officer 2] It will be

-much easier for you

-[Sam indistinct chatter]

I've something very important.

We honor the lives--

-[officer 1] We have to go now.

-I need to go.

We thank you

for your inspiration.

We're going

to have to postpone...

[officer 1] You have the right

to remain silent. Anything--

-[Sam] No! What are you talk--

-I'm so sorry for that.

-[Sam] Am I under arrest?

-[officer 2] Yes.

If you could all quickly

get up from your seats

-and exit stage left.

-[indistinct contesting]

Thank you so much.

We really appreciate it.

-We will send you something.

-Ah!

-[officer 2] Sir!

-[Sam] What the f*ck!

-[audience screaming]

-[Sam] No!

-[audience yelling]

-[Sam] Oh, oh! Oh, god.

-[officer 1] Freeze!

[Sam] f*ck!

[Sam] I am innocent. Kristen!

-[officer 1] Anything you say--

-[man] He's innocent!

[officer 1] You have the right

to remain silent.

Anything you say,

can and will be used

against you in a court of law.

[Sam] Check your cell phone--

[woman yelling]

There are no cell phone towers.

[Sam]

Check your cell phone towers.

-[officer 1] Right now. Go!

-[Sam] Check them, please!

[Sam] Call Lurane!

[officer 1] You have the right

to remain silent.

Call Lurane! Call Lurane!

[crowd buzzing]

I was in Quogue!

I was in Quogue!

Call my real estate agent!

I was in Quogue!

I was in Quogue looking

at an apartment! I have an--

Check the cell phone tower!

Check them!

[Officer 2]

There are no cell phone towers!

[upbeat jazz music]

Hooray for Hollywood

That screwy, bally hooey

Hollywood

Where any office boy

Or young mechanic

Can be a panic

With just a

Good-looking pan

And any barmaid

Can be a star made

If she dances with

Or without a fan

Hooray for Hollywood

Where you're terrific,

If you're even good

Where anyone at all from

Shirley Temple

To Amy Simple is

Equally understood

Go out and

Try your luck

You might be Donald Duck

Hooray for Hollywood

[jazz music continues]

-[ongoing police sirens]

-[jazz music continues]

[crowd buzz builds]

[jazz music continues]

[music stops abruptly]

[smooth jazz playing]

Uh, I usually get the rigatoni

here because it's so good.

But I think...

We're celebrating.

I'm going to do

the free range chicken.

Would you like any dip for this?

Here you are ma'am.

[cell phone ringing]

-Hello?

-[recording] Hello.

This is a global link

prepaid call from an inmate

at the Suffolk County

Correctional Facility.

This call will be monitored

by law enforcement.

To accept this call,

press one now.

Hello?

[Sam on phone, frantic]

Kristen?

Oh my god! [sobbing]

How did this happen?

Where are you?

Uhm, I am around town.

[Sam] Oh my god.

Oh my god. I'm mortified.

What is everybody saying?

[Kristen]

[giggles]

[Sam on the phone]

Uh-uh....

[upbeat jazz]

Hooray for Hollywood

That phony, super coney

Hollywood

They come from Chillicothe

And Padukahs

With their bazookas

To get their names

Up in lights

All armed with photos

From local rotos

With their hair in ribbon

And legs in tights

Hooray for Hollywood

You may be homely

In your neighborhood

-Cheers.

-Cheers.

But if you think that you

Can be an actor

[Kristen] I love this wine.

Make a monkey look good

Within a half an hour,

You'll look like Tyrone Power

Hooray for Hollywood

Hooray for Hollywood

[music ends]

Lights, camera, action

You can't stop the groove

I'm gonna keep on

Dancin', baby

We got nothing to lose

Life in the spotlight

Leave my problems behind

Got that discotheque

Dynamite

I might break a leg tonight

Just can't stop

When the music's on

Talk your talk

Can't hear no one

Let the credits run

I've got my hands

To the sun

Lights, camera, action

You can't stop the groove

No-ooo

I'm gonna keep on

Dancin', baby

We got nothing to lose

With a bit of love

And a dash of delusion

The show must go on

So just keep movin'

Lights, camera, action

I'm kinda feelin' loose

Step, step, step

Then repeat

Ha!

Red carpet rolled out for me

Camera flash

Flash to the beat

Cuz it's showbiz, baby

Just can't stop

When the music's on

Talk your talk

Can't hear no one

Let the credits run

I've got my hands

To the sun

Lights, camera, action

You can't stop the groove

No-ooo

I'm gonna keep on

Dancin', baby

We got nothing to lose

With a bit of love

And a dash of delusion

The show must go on

So just keep movin'

Lights, camera, action

I've got nothin' to lose

[vocalizing]

[harmonizing vocals]

Lights, camera, action

You can't stop the groove

No-ooo

I'm gonna keep on

Dancin', baby

We got nothing to lose

With a bit of love

And a dash of delusion

The show must go on

So just keep movin'

Lights, camera, action

I've got nothin' to lose

[music ends]
