Amy got to go hospital.

Since I'm not dilated,

they're letting me go

home, because there's

nothing they can do about the

pain or the Braxton Hicks.

I have to learn to live with

the pain until I give birth.

[phone ringing]

b*tch.

I don't know.

The doctor wanted me to

quarantine before the baby's

born, so I can't go over there.

AMY (VOICEOVER): My doctor

put me on quarantine

before the baby's born because

he's been delivering babies,

and the parents

have been testing

positive because of the corona.

I'm all right.

I know that my

cervix is closed, and

that's mostly why I went there.

Yeah.

Yeah.

But I keep getting the cramps.

TAMMY (ON VIDEO CALL): Ew.

I'm quarantined

for the next 14 days,

so are you going to be OK?

You got everything you need?

Huh?

But

[laughs]

AMY (VOICEOVER): I have to

be at the hospital at 5:30

in the morning.

I'm worried about it

because this pregnancy

has not been easy.

I've had a lot of Braxton

Hicks complications.

And these past couple of days

[laughs]

Yeah.

We're ready for Gage.

Yeah.

CHRIS (VOICEOVER):

But we have a weigh-in

with Dr. Smith in a

couple days, and that's

what I got to focus on.

Because if I've

lost my 15 pounds,

I'm going to be approved

for this surgery,

and it's life changing.

[laughs]

And as far as food

choices and stuff,

I just really try to make

each meal as you know,

as healthy as I possibly can.

CHRIS (VOICEOVER):

The struggle is real.

My daughter moved

to Tennessee, so we

haven't been able

to keep in touch

as much as we would like to.

So I want to call Emily and

give her an update on my diet.

My daughter, she's a little

bigger than she needs to be,

also.

So I want my weight loss success

to be inspiring to Emily.

Well, the last doctor's

appointment I went to,

he said I had to lose 15 pounds.

Ha, ha.

I'm a manager at a you

know, a fast food restaurant.

If I'm at work, there's

food around me, period.

Guess what, though?

When you come back to my house,

I ain't cooking it either,

so you ain't going to

get it in my house.

Right?

That's the way it goes.

[laughs]

God willing and

the creek don't rise.

[laughs]

Hell yes.

CHRIS (VOICEOVER):

The main reason

why I want this surgery

is because my dad

passed away at 57, and he was

between 400 and 500 pounds.

I'm 41.

I want to be around for

the kids to grow up,

you know, the

grandkids to get up.

I want to be able to teach

them everything I know.

I want to be around

for my family.

They're my everything.

I mean

EMILY: Do what you need to do.

I've done the best I can.

And everybody knows you

can lead a horse to water,

but you can't make them drink.

The whole diet situation is

never a cakewalk, period.

But I put in enough work that

I feel like I deserve to make

the go and get the surgery.

CHRIS (VOICEOVER):

And I really do

think Tammy is doing

better than she was,

but I'm not able to

be there every minute.

And who knows what

she eats or how much

she eats when I'm not around.

[music playing]

[alarm clock beeping]

AMY: Hey.

MICHAEL: Hmm?

[beep]

[laughs]

MICHAEL: Yeah,

MICHAEL: Yeah.

MICHAEL: Yeah.

AMY (VOICEOVER): Having

a c-section when you're

this size, there's a

lot of fat and muscles

that the doctor has to get

through to get to your baby.

JERRY (VOICEOVER): Today,

I'm back to Kentucky

because right now Tammy's alone,

and Amy is having a baby now,

so she could use my company.

I just wanted to come and

see her and cheer her up.

Hell no.

[laughter]

About a week.

[laughs]

DOCTOR: No.

AMY (VOICEOVER):

Being overweight,

it was hard to find the baby's

heartbeat because there's

so much layers of fat.

[beeping]

AMY (VOICEOVER): Having

a c-section when you're

this size, there's a

lot of fat and muscles

that the doctor has to get

through to get to your baby.

And being obese, I could

have birth complications.

MICHAEL: [laughs]

Yeah.

TAMMY (VOICEOVER): I'm still

waiting to hear from Amy.

I'm just worried about

her having the baby,

and I don't want her to

have real bad complications.

Anything could go wrong.

[phone ringing]

Hello?

Yeah.

I don't have internet.

So I just got out

of recovery room.

And Gage is in the nursery

because his sugar was 24.

They want it at 50.

So yeah, they're giving him

a little bit of formula,

trying to get it up.

AMY (VOICEOVER): Gage was

still in the breeched position.

So in the end, I had

to have a c-section.

And then they took him

away to the nursery

to get some test run

because he had a low blood

sugar, because it dropped.

I'm hoping everything's OK.

I haven't even got to hold him

yet, but I did get to see him.

And I heard when

he started crying.

I started crying.

I already love Gage so much.

This is a miracle.

[laughter]

My body feels pretty good.

It's just numb.

I can't wiggle my toes.

So other than that,

everything's fine.

[knocking]

[music playing]

AMY (VOICEOVER): Looking

at Gage, I just see

his whole future, basically.

I see him going off to college.

I just it's an emotion

you can't really talk about

because you just

love him so much,

you don't have words to explain

how much you love him so much.

Oh, my god.

AMY (VOICEOVER): Holding

Gage for the first time

felt surreal.

I mean, my heart just melted.

He was so perfect

His little fingers, his toes.

Yeah, I made this

little ball of joy.

[laughs]

MICHAEL: [laughs]

So I'm doing this

AMY (VOICEOVER): kind of,

like, sharing my journey.

I got the weight loss, so I

wanted to show them my son

AMY: We had a baby.

He's so cute.

say, hey, you can do this.

Look where I'm at

to where I was.

hard work, all the weight loss,

everything I've been through,

all the trips to the ER,

I made it.

I can just breathe knowing he's

fine, he's here, he's safe.

He's perfect.

OK not with just the baby,

but with her.

I mean, this is Amy's

second major surgery

in less than a year.

Anything could go wrong.

She can move the wrong way

and bust open the seams

and start gushing blood.

[laughs]

TAMMY (ON PHONE): [coughs]

I can't wait.

We are extremely happy

that Gage is here.

I'm just, like, really tired

and hurting a little bit,
