Vampirina follows the story of Vampirina "Vee" Hauntley who becomes the new kid on the block after she and her family move from Transylvania to Pennsylvania to open a local bed and breakfast called the Scare B&B for visiting ghouls (including vampires and goblins.

[giggles] Try to catch me!

I am trying. [chuckling]

-[Wolfie barking]
-[Vampirina chuckling continues]

Whoa, slow down there, Vee.

Ooh! Sweet bat cakes, be careful.

[grunts, giggles]

Demi, no fair disappearing through things

during a game of vampire tag.

Sorry, I always forget
you can't fly through walls.

Oh, you knocked great-uncle, Dieter, over.

Sorry, Uncle Dieter!

[picture creaking]

It sure looks spooky in here.

Feels like home!

[chuckles]
I haven't seen Vampirina this excited

since her first full-moon flyby.

Of course I'm excited.

Now that we're all moved in,

I can start making new friends.

Just remember, love, that sometimes

humans are a little jumpy.

-Jumpy?
-Or, what's the word?

-Uh, screamy?
-Screamy?

Sometimes humans get just
a little teensy bit terrified

of the things they haven't seen before.

So, I was thinking,
if we look less like vampires

maybe we'll be less scary.

I found something humans love to wear.

They say orange is the new black!

I prefer the old black.

And anyway, Papa, cute and fuzzy

isn't really our style.

[doorbell screaming]

Our first visitors.

Dad, the sweaters.

Well, hello, neighbors.

-Hello.
-Thank you.

I like your sweater.

See?

Why, thank you, kindly.

I'm Edna Peepleson, and I just wanted

to welcome you to the neighborhood.

I live right next door with my twinigans,
Edgar and Poppy.

It is wonderful to meet you.

I am Boris, and this is Oxana and--

I'm Vampirina.

Vampirina?

My, what an unusual name.

I brought you folks flowers and cookies.

Mmm, what kind of cookies are these?

[gasps] Newt Nugget? Slug Berry?
Scream-doodles?

Oatmeal raisin.

Oh.

[Boris] Come in, come in.

Welcome to our home, scream, home.

[inhales deeply] These are lovely.

A little pruning really
brings out the thorns.

Oh, my.

[stuttering] That picture.

It's looking at me.

Well, that only seems fair.

After all, you're looking at him.

-[gargoyle cracks]
-[Edna shrieks]

That statue, it moved.

Wish you hadn't done that, Gregoria.

You try sitting in the same position

for 473 years and see
what it does to your back.

[gasps] Ms. Peepleson, watch out!

[Edna screams]

Thanks for stopping by!

[Oxana] And for the lovely stems.

And the cookies.

Turns out Penelope likes oatmeal raisin.

[Penelope grunts]

You're right. They are jumpy.

And screamy.

Maybe making human friends

is gonna be harder than I thought.

-[ears flapping]
-[Vampirina gasps]

Uh, oy!

Oh, no, not a case of the batties!

Don't worry.

All vampires get the batties

when they're nervous.

Tell us, what's wrong, little Vee?

I guess this is such a big move,

and I'm kind of scared.

Not a good scared

like when there's a monster under my bed.

[monster growls weakly]

But like the kind of scared

when you feel like you have spiders

-in the pit of your stomach.
-[monster growls]

What if I don't make any friends
in Pennsylvania?

[soft music]

♪ Back at home ♪

♪ I had a million friends ♪

♪ We were the spookiest spooks ♪

♪ In monster school ♪

♪ I was on top
Of the Transylvanian trends ♪

♪ Ask any goblin, ghost, or ghoul ♪

♪ But here my social life won't survive ♪

♪ 'Cause I'm afraid
That I just won't thrive ♪

♪ Making friends who are actually alive ♪

♪ What if the kids don't like me? ♪

♪ What if they point and stare? ♪

♪ Is there a human out there ♪

♪ Who sees the real me ♪

♪ And likes what they see? ♪

♪ Is there a someone ♪

♪ Who likes me for me? ♪

Of course you'll make friends.

But you won't make them in here.

I know it's sunny,

but why don't you go outside and play?

-[crow cawing]
-[Gregoria grunts]

Let's show the whole human world
how loveable you are.

Adorbs vampire seeks non-squeamish human

-for best friend forever-dom.
-[children giggle]

[Vampirina gasps] The neighbors.

Demi, you'd better hide.

[Edgar] Got ya!

What is Edgar looking for?

-[cat screeching]
-I do not know.

I caught a troll from next door.

[shrieks]

Oh, that's not a troll.

[Bridget] It's my cat.

Aww, it's okay, Miss Cuddlecakes.

Oh, uh, sorry, Bridget.

I really thought it was a troll

from that spooky house next door.

I mean, what kind of cat has no hair?

A hairless cat.

I told you there's nothing weird

going on in the house next door.

That's not what Mom says.

[stammers] What do you mean weird?

Like he thinks it looks...

[sing-songy] ...haunted!

Hey, why don't we ask her?

She lives there, right?

Hi!

Oh, hi.

-I'm Poppy.
-And I'm Bridget.

-And this is Edgar.
-Uh, hey.

I'm Vampirina.

I just moved in and I've been dying

to find someone to play with.

Well, not dying, but you know,

it's nice to meet some humans.

Kids. Human kids.

Nice to meet you, too.

Listen, Edgar here thinks
your house looks haunted.

What, this house?

It doesn't look haunted, does it?

Let's see.

-[crow cawing]
-[Bridget] Oh, uh...

Yes, it totally does.

Okay, so it may look haunted,

but that doesn't mean it is haunted.

All I need is one good shot
of something creepy in there,

and my web show, Weekly Weirdness

will hit the big time!

You have a web show? That's cool.

How many viewers do you have?

Six including our grandma, eh,
and her dog.

Well, I sure wish I could help
but you know,

everything's pretty much
totally normal around here.

How would you know, really?

You just moved in.

Well, this house has always
belonged to my family.

My dad first came here
a couple hundred years ago.

Or at least it feels like that.

Why don't you just invite us over?

And we can prove to Edgar once and for all

that there's nothing strange
going on in there?

Great! Come on over to my totally normal

not scary, definitely not haunted house.

We can play with my
Transylvanian Scream Girl dolls.

Sounds fun. Mom!

Uh, you know...

I have to go brush Miss Cuddlecakes' hair.

Okay, bye.

[door creaking]

Did you see that?

She didn't even touch the door,

and that creak, classic haunted house.

[chuckles]

Yeah, we've been meaning
to oil that hinge.

Mama, Papa, I brought
some new friends over.

-Hello, new friends.
-Welcome.

Whoa, where'd you come from?

Oh, helicopter parents.

We're always lurking.

Poppy, Edgar, these are my parents.

As we always say in Transylvania,

our dungeon is your dungeon.

[camera shutter clicks]

But perhaps in Pennsylvania
we should just say,

"Come on in."

These dolls are really different.

Where'd you get them?

At FAO Shrieks back in Transylvania.

That's Franken-Stacy.

Her arms and legs are detachable.

This is Ghastly Gayle.
One of my favorites.

She comes with her very own scream house.

It has its own cemetery? Wow.

Seriously, you're really
just gonna play with dolls?

-Uh, yeah.
-They're awesome!

Boring.

Just promise me you'll tell me
if anything weird happens.

I'm out.

-Later, gator.

Creepy Caroline comes with two hairstyles.

The poisonous beehive
or the serpent braid.

I wonder if I can do my hair that way.

I bet you could.

Can you believe Edgar still thinks
this place is haunted?

I saw Edgar heading out, so I--

[screams] Ghost!

Human!

Oh, it's not what you think.

I mean, it is what you think, but--

Oh, no, not my batties again.

[screams]

Knew it!

[Poppy screaming]

It's okay, it's me.

Talking bat!

[screams]

Look, it's just me, Vampirina.

You're--

Sorry. I'm so sorry.

I didn't mean to scare you.

[sighs] And I thought we could be friends.

A bat?

Sometimes, not always.

But it is kind of fun to be able to fly.

A-ha! I knew something strange
was going on in here.

Poppy, talk to me. What'd you see?

A one-eyed goblin? A mummy in the closet?

Am I gonna be famous?

I don't know what you're talking about.

I didn't see anything.

Wait, what?

Then why'd you scream?

It's okay. You can tell him.

[stammers] What?

That we both...

love Justin Teether
and the singing sirens.

[soft music playing]

Okay, we do.

♪ Be my ghoul, be my ghoul ♪

That's right, we do.

She told me, and I was like,

"Ah, I love him, too."

She totally screamed.

And then we danced.

Aah, my eyes!

This is the scariest thing
I've seen all day.

I'm out.

Call me if something awesome happens.

Okay, bye!

[both laughing]

That was amazing!

And I do love dancing to that song.

Me too.

But you didn't have to do that.

-I know.
-Aren't you scared of me?

I mean, I was,
but then I realized it's just you.

And I wanted to be your friend
before you turned into a bat,

so why wouldn't I wanna be
your friend afterwards, too?

I wanna be your friend, too.

So, you're a vampire, right?

-Right.
-Cool.

So, should we dance it out?

Let's dance it out!

-[both laughing]
-[soft music playing]

♪ All day inside my coffin ♪

[Vampirina] "Scare B&B."

I think the room is ready, Vee.

[Vampirina] No, wait.

Cobwebs.

Now we're all ready.

The room is dark, drafty,
and the floor squeaks.

Oh, I'm so excited.

I have always wanted to run a Scare B&B.

Scare B&B?

A bed and breakfast.

Like a little hotel
right here in our house.

♪ When I was a girl
I had one single dream ♪

♪ To run my own monster motel ♪

♪ A place for vacationing
Banshees to scream ♪

♪ Where witches could stay
For a spell ♪

♪ And now it would seem
That my dream is in sight ♪

[Oxana] Now that our first
guest room is ready,

let's post that it's open
on the world wide cobweb.

-[Vampirina] Okay, Mama.
-[beeps]

Great! All we have to do now

is wait for our first guest to arrive.

[doorbell screaming]

Oh, that was fast.

Hello, neighbors.

-Neighbors?
-Welcome.

Oh, it's the Peeplesons.

-Hi, Poppy.
-Vee, hey.

What are you doing here?

[Edgar grunts]

Your dad said we could stay

while our house is being painted.

Oh, thanks for the invite again, Boris.

-[clears throat]
-Oxana, darling,

uh, did I forget to tell you

I invited the Peeplesons
to stay for the night?

You did. [chuckles]

You did forget that.

My mother always said I'd lose my wings

if they weren't attached to my back.

I mean, arms. [laughs]

Arms, not wings.

Edna, will you excuse us

for just one eensy, teensy moment?

Boris, the Peeplesons
can't stay here overnight.

Edna gets spooked so easily.

She came over for tea last week

and left because she heard
the chandelier cough.

[chandelier clears throat]

I was just trying to be neighborly.

Besides, they're here now.

We can't exactly
kick them out on the street.

It'll be okay, Mama.

Poppy can stay with me in my room.

And Edna and Edgar can stay

in the twin dungeon and new guest room.

[sighs] Okay, you're right.

We're used to being around humans by now.

We can handle this.

I mean, what's the worst
that could happen?

[door screaming]

Hello, I'm Narcisa,

and this is my sister, Cosmina.

Uh...

We signed up on the world wide cobweb

to stay in your guest room.

Well, what a surprise.

We might be 800-year-old vampires,

but we still know how to use the internet.

We were so relieved to find a place
to stay in this neighborhood.

We love Pennsylvania.

Love the soft pretzels
and the Liberty Bell.

But don't want to have to stay
with any pesky humans.

-Whoops.
-Uh-oh.

Oh, well, I'm terribly sorry,

but we're overbooked right now, and--

Mama, you don't want
your very first guests

to be unhappy, do you?

-So is our--
-Room ready?

[chuckles] Of course it is.

If you book a room,
you have a room, right?

[chuckles nervously]

Humans? Vampires?

All staying at the same time.

This is a disaster.

My dream of running a Scare B&B

in our home is already over.

Mama, don't give up on your dream.

We can do this.

I like the can-do spirit, little Vee,

but I think your mother is right.

This is a disaster!

Not all vampires get along
with humans as well as we do.

And nothing personal,
but my mom isn't so excited

about vampires, or ghosts,
or talking gargoyles,

or zombies, and--

[chuckles] Hmm, you get the idea.

And we only have one room!

That's it!

Since vampires sleep during the day,

and humans sleep at night,

they won't need to use the room
at the same time.

-Right?
-Right.

As long as we keep them apart,

they can use the same room.

Do you really think it'll work?

We can do it. Right, Poppy?

-Right.
-Good.

Now let's get back out there.

Please help yourselves
to some snacks, ladies.

We'd rather just head up
to our room right now.

-We're--
-Pooped!

It was a bumpy, batty flight
from Transylvania.

Oh, of course.

Girls, hurry upstairs

and move Edna and Edgar
out of the guest room.

-Got it.
-You can count on us.

-Hi!
-[Edna and Edgar scream]

Oh, girls, you snuck up on us.

[laughing]

-Oh.
-Sorry, Mom.

Vee and I just wanted to, um,

show you the new soap
that's in the bathroom.

It smells so soapy.

You have to try it out right away.

Well, you don't have to ask me twice.

I love my creams, and my lotions,

and my soapy-smelling soaps.

[Oxana] Here's your room. Empty?

Yep, empty.

Why wouldn't it be empty?
[chuckles nervously]

-Well, it's--
-Interesting.

What are these frilly frocks doing here?

Wait... [shudders]

Are these human clothes?

Are there humans here?

What? No.

Those are here because the room
is human themed.

Human themed?

[gasps] Without actual humans?

Oh, how deliciously fun.

[exhales sharply]

Oh, sister, it's the middle
of the afternoon.

Way past our bedtime.

Hold your zombie horses.

I'm almost done applying
the frog-slime face mask.

There, all done.

Nasty dreams, sister.

[Edgar] Just a sec, Mom!

Let me grab my video game.

There.

Huh, now where did I put it?

Phew, that was a close one.

Hmm...

Oh, it's too early to wake.

Boo. [stomach gurgles]

Oh, I must still be hungry.

Better go get a quick bite.

This lunch

actually smells normal.

-[laughs]
-Thank you.

I tried adding, um--

what are they called again, Vee?

Carrots. We got them
at the farmer's market.

It's like a meat market
but without the meat.

[laughing] Weird, right?

-Oh, no!
-[girls shriek]

What is it?

Um, just excited...

-to bake something.
-I love baking!

-That's news to me.
-Here, Poppy.

[Edgar] Hey, what gives?

[all coughing]

[Poppy] Mom, Edgar, let's go
into the other room

until we can stop coughing.

Sorry about that.

I get a little excited about baking.

Do you need anything?

Oh, I just came down

for something to sink my fangs into.

Oh, how about a lizard pop?

Oh, excellent. Yes, please.

Great, I'll show you back upstairs.

I told you, Poppy, we're fine.

It was just a little bit of flour.

Edgar, did you brush your teeth?

Yes, Mom.

Hmm, did you hear something?

Hi, Narcisa. Hi, Cosmina.

It's night time. Time to get up!

And there's no better way
to start your night

than with a sightseeing flight
around the neighborhood.

Up and at 'em!
The early bat gets the worm.

Why would we want a worm?

[Vampirina] Let's talk and fly, folks.

Ooh, my face cream.

[yawns] Phew!

That was a long day.

Did everything go okay?

Yep, I flew Narcisa and Cosmina

around the block a couple of times

and left them in the kitchen with Mom.

Good thing they're leaving in the morning.

I can't believe we kept everyone
separated all day.

I mean, what would my mom have done

if she saw them turn into bats?

It would've been bad.

Luckily we make a good team.

-[both laughing]
-We make the best team.

[Narcisa] Well, you are just
the easiest person to talk to.

Is that--

It's Cosmina and Narcisa and--

[gasps] My mom!

[ladies laughing, chatting]

It is brilliant.

Oh, I love that.

Oh, no, your mom is in there

with Cosmina and Narcisa, and--

[ladies laughing]

[Edna] Upside down yoga?

Well, the two of you are just delightful.

Delightful?

What's on your mom's face?

[Poppy] That's her face mask.

She always wears it while she sleeps.

But it is extra green today.

[chuckles] It makes her look
like a monster.

That's it! Cosmina and Narcisa think

your mom is another monster.

She must've gotten her face cream bottle

mixed up with theirs.

I just came down to get a glass of water.

-Couldn't sleep.
-Well, who can at this hour?

Phew, all that yoga's made me hungry
for a midnight snack.

You know, cooking actually helps me sleep.

Why don't I make us all
some of my famous blood sausages?

I'm sure Oxana won't mind.

-Ooh.
-Sounds delicious.

Girls, what are you doing up?

And what is Edna doing up?

Mom, it's okay.

Cosmina and Narcisa think
my mom's a monster.

And they're friends now.

-You do yoga too?
-Every morning.

Though I never hang from the ceiling.

It's called bat pose.

Really gets the blood
rushing to your head.

-Whoo!
-As soon as I get food in the oven,

you'll have to show me.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised

by how much I enjoyed my stay, Oxana.

It was so normal.

Oh, and I want to give
those charming sisters

my recipe for blood sausage.

Are they around?

They had to catch their, um, flight home.

Oh, another time, then. Let's go.

I'm gonna stay and hang out with Vee.

-If that's okay, Mom.
-That's fine.

We've got the hang of things now.

Mama, Papa, I checked online.

Narcisa and Cosmina put up a review
of our Scare B&B

for everyone in Transylvania to read.

They gave us five out of five skeletons.

They say the best part
was the other monster

who was staying here.

The Scare B&B is a screaming success.

Well, I'm just glad everything worked out.

Let's go clean up, Boris.

[Boris] I'll get the tomb polish.

Looks like your mom and our vampire guests

turned out to have a lot in common.

Just like us.
