[Vampirina] "Nanpire The Great."

Is she here yet? Is she here yet?

Not yet, Vee.

Any minute now.

I can't wait for Nan to get here.

What are you doing, Mama?

[Oxana] Dusting. You know how much
your Nanpire loves a fine layer of dust.

Is she here yet? Is she here yet?

-Not yet.
-Aww!

Oh, well,

don't you look terrifyingly handsome,
Boris, dear.

It's the first time Mom
is coming to visit us in Pennsylvania.

I don't want her to think
her little Boris-poo

has forgotten the vampire way
of doing things.

Nanpire is the sweetest vampire
in the world.

She's going to be
bat-tastically excited to see you.

[doorbell screams]

-[gasps] She's here!
-Nanpire's here!

Huh.

Either the invisible man
is playing pranks on us again,

or it was a false alarm.

Aww.

[chiming]

[Nanpire] Were you looking for someone?

Perhaps the amazing Nanpire the Great?

-Mommy!
-Nana!

Vee, my little spider!

We thought that was you at the door.

I always say, why make a little entrance
when you can make a big one!

-Oh, is she here?
-Is she here yet?

[Gregoria] Good to see you, Nan!

[Nanpire] Demi! Gregoria!

My two favorite magical sidekicks!

Taking good care of Vampirina, I hope.

You have nothing to worry about.

Never take my eyes off her! [snickers]

Oh, no. Vee? Vee?

[chuckles] Demi, I'm right behind you.

Oh! Right, well, uh, like I said,

never take my eye off her.

We're always here to help out.

Speaking of help, Vee,
why don't you show Nan

what you need her help with
for school tomorrow?

Good idea, Mama.

So what's this school event, Vee?

Full Moon Festival?

Frankenstein Science Fair?

Ice-Scream social?

A potluck! It's a human tradition
where every student brings in

a different family recipe to school.

Oh, a human tradition!

Of course, that makes sense,
now that you're at a human school.

That's okay, right, Nan?

Hmm. Oh, yes, of course, dear.
Now, how can I help?

I was hoping you'd make one
of your famous vampire recipes!

Oh, how about the dish
we always make back in Transylvania--

ghoulash soup!

"Ghoulash soup?"

Yes! You remember that one, right?

Um...

of course, I do.

-[doorbell screams]
-That's the doorbell!

It must be Poppy. She wanted to meet you.

Poppy, hey!

Hi, Vee. Is your grandma here?

Yeah! She appeared in a poof

right in the middle of our living room!

Wow. My grandma just comes
in the front door.

My nan likes sticking
to the vampire way of doing things.

So, are you ready
for the potluck tomorrow?

Well... I wanted Nan
to make a vampire dish for the potluck,

but she wants to make it together.

What's wrong with that? Sounds fun.

She asked if I remembered how to make it,

and I said yes,
even though I'm not really sure I do.

So why don't you just tell her
that you're not sure?

I can't. I don't want Nan to think
that all this time in Pennsylvania

has made me forget about
the vampire traditions we used to share.

You know what, it'll be fine.

I'm sure I'll remember the recipe
as we go,

and I'll just wing it.

Okay, if you think that'll work.

Smells like it's almost done!

Now, Vee, do you remember
how many times to stir the soup?

Uh, yeah, of course.

You just stir it...

Thirteen times!

Oh! [chuckles]

That's right!

Whew! That was 13. Stopped just in time.

Well, it's not a big deal
if you stir an extra time, is it?

You never know with my Nan.

She likes dramatic recipes.

What was this called, again?

Ghoulash soup!

It's a magic ice-cold soup

that's perfect for warm weather.

And... that's it.

All we have to do
is let the magic cook overnight.

It's a monster of a recipe, you know.

Which reminds me, Vee,

you remember when to serve
the soup, right?

Um, yes! You serve it, uh...

Not too soon and not too late.

It has to cook
for exactly the right amount of time.

Um, right. Yeah. I totally remember.

You wait for the...

Yep, got it.

Are you sure, Screamkins?

Totally! Thanks, Nan.

All set for tomorrow!

I should get ready for bed now.

-Night, Nan.
-Bye!

Hmm...

Demi!

[gasps] Now, that's an entrance!

Well, helps when you can fly
through walls. [chuckles]

What can I do for you?

This ghoulash soup we made
is pretty strong magic.

I trust Vee when she says
she knows when to serve it,

but just in case she needs some help,

why don't you go with her to school
in the morning?

Come get me if there's a problem.

Aye-aye, Nan! Won't let you down.
[chuckles]

Oh! I'd better get to bed, then.

I haven't had a school night in 300 years!

[school bell rings]

Wow!

Look at all the different kinds of food!

This beats cafeteria lunch, for sure.

Whoops! Don't want to mess up the potluck
with a spooky ghost sighting.

Better hide.

Vee! Poppy! Hey!

-Hey!
-Hi, Bridget.

What'd you bring for the potluck?

I brought tacos and enchiladas.

Mom's recipe. Want to try one?

-Definitely.
-Taco or enchilada?

Tacos, por favor.

[sniffs] What's that smell?
Is that your food, Vee?

Yep, some Transylvanian cooking
from my Nanpire.

Oh, it smells delicious!

Can I try?

Sure! Uh...

Nan said to serve the soup
not too soon and not too late.

Okay, one helping of ghoulash soup
coming right...

[strains, yelps]

Oh! Poppy! Bridget, duck!

What happened?

Everything is...

[both] ...frozen!

[ominous music]

I'm no expert,
but this looks like trouble.

Better go tell Nan.

Your nan's recipes really are dramatic.

It's because I opened the soup too soon.

[Vampirina] The magic must not've finished
cooking all the way.

What do we do?

Warm water! We can thaw everyone.

Are you sure? These are our friends,
not a bag of frozen peas.

It's worth a try.

[squeaking]

The faucet is frozen shut, too!

Okay, now I'm totally stumped.

Oh. Maybe I should've told Nan
I didn't remember the recipe.

[sighs] I wish she were here.

[suspenseful music]

-Nan!
-Demi!

Are you girls all right?

I think I messed up.

Did you serve the ghoulash soup

before the magic
was able to cook all the way?

Yeah. I know I said I remembered
when to serve it,

but it turns out I didn't.

[ding]

But, Screamkins, why didn't you tell me?

Well, after all the time I've spent
in Pennsylvania around humans,

I didn't want you to think that
I forgot about our vampire traditions.

I didn't want to disappoint you.

Vee, you could never disappoint me.
