Thank you. Thank you to all our fans.

We love you.

[both laugh]

This song sounds pretty solid.

All we have to do is add
Poppy on drums

and we'll be ready
for the talent show tomorrow.

Where is Poppy anyway?

Well, Poppy's at home working on
a new Ghoul Girls song.

I did it.
I finished the new song.

Poppy, that's great.

Now we can play something new
for the talent show tomorrow.

I hope you like it.
I worked so hard on this song.

And, Vee, I gave you the best
spookylele solo ever.

A solo? That I play all by myself?

Yup. Want to hear it?

[guitar solo plays over phone]

Whoa, that sounds wild.

Really wild.

I hope I can pull it off.

You can do it, Vee.

You're a great musician.

Uh, yeah.

Yeah, I can totally do this.
Let's play our new song.

A one, a two, a one, two, three, four.

[playing rock music]

Your solo, Vee.

[soloing]

[playing off-key]

[string twangs]

Uh, let me try that again.

[soloing]

-Oops.
-Oh, no.

Did I make the solo too hard?

It's a little tougher than I thought.

Maybe we should go back
to our old song?

No way.
Poppy worked really hard on this song.

And besides, everyone at school's
has already heard our old one.

I think this one could be
a real Ghoul Girls classic.

-Ready?
-Let's do this, Ghoul Girls.

Ghoul Girls rule.

I've always wanted to say that.

[playing rock song]

[sighs]

[yawns]

Over to you, Vee.

[strings snap]

Oh, this solo's gone
from bad to batty.

I just can't get it.

[Oxana] Vee, darling, it's time for bed.

Bed? But we're not done
practicing for the talent show.

It's okay, Vee.
I think I'm all practiced out.

Me too. Besides, we should get
some rest before tomorrow.

Okay.

And don't worry.

I'll keep practicing the solo.

I promise. I'm going to get this.

-Mm-hmm.
-Bye.

I hope.

[Oxana] Ghoul morning, batkins.

-Time for school.
-And the big day for the talent show.

I have a feeling you'll knock them dead.

It's time to go already?
I'm still practicing my solo.

Uh, Vee, how long have you been
practicing, exactly?

Not that long. Just a few hours.

Well, a lot of hours.

Okay, the whole night.

But I'm getting close.

Just let me practice one more time?

Well, all right.

See you downstairs.

Great ghosts. It's musical mayhem in here.

I'd call it one big, scary mess.

It's because I've been
practicing my solo all night.

And I still can't get it.

Oh, I'm sure it's not as bad
as you think, Vee.

Or maybe it is.

We'll be able to tell
if you play it for us.

Okay. [soloing]

-Whoa. Watch out, Vee.
-Whoa!

-[both gasp]
-Whoa!

It's as bad as she thinks.

-Whoa!
-Oh, give her a chance!

She's not done yet!

And she's done.

What am I going to do?

I promised Poppy and Bridget
I'd get the solo.

That's why I never
promise anyone anything.

Vee, don't be so hard on yourself.

There's no way a person, or vampire,
could do that solo.

A ghost, yes. Check me out.

[imitating guitar solo]

It doesn't count if it's air guitar.

My friends are going to be
so disappointed.

Nonsense. You will play that solo.

And I know how.

We can cast a spell
on your spookylele

so it can play the solo by itself.

That idea is genius!

That idea is terrible!

What if something goes wrong?

Magic isn't always
the best solution, you know.

But the talent show is today,

and it's the only way
I'll be able to play the solo.

I can't let my friends down.

All right, but don't say
I didn't warn you.

Play the solo, play it well,
once I cast this spooky spell.

Did it work? Can it play my solo?

[soloing]

It worked! Demi, you're the best.

Well, I try.

And I succeed, if I do say so myself.

Got to go to school now.
Bye, Demi. Bye, Gregoria.

the solo is all taken care of.

-Yeah! Whoo-hoo!
-I knew you'd get it.

Now I really can't wait
to play in the talent show.

[soloing]

-What was that?
-Uh, I didn't hear anything. Nope.

It sounded like something
started to play.

-Ah!

Demi? Gregoria?

I'm so glad you're both here.

Looks like the spell
is causing some problems,

which I said might happen,
but does anyone listen to me?

No.

There must be a magic word

that is making your spookylele
play on its own.

[plays power chords]

-[plays heavy notes]
-Demi, that's the magic word.

"Play."

-Play?

On second thought,
we don't need to warm up.

We've got this thing in the bag.

Vee, is everything okay?

You've been acting really strange today.

Sure. Everything's screechy-peachy.

Come on, let's go outside and play.

Oh, no.

-Whoa!
-What?

Sorry. We tried to stop it.

That uke's sure got some spook.

Uh, Vee,
what is going on?

Why is your spookylele flying around?

I'll explain everything.

But first, we need to catch that uke.

[all grunt]

Got it.

[Mr. Gore] Welcome, everyone,
to the talent show.

Okay, Vee, now will you
tell us what's going on?

[sighs]

The truth is, I practiced
and practiced the solo.

But I couldn't get it.

It was too hard.

So Demi put a spell on the spookylele,
so it would play the solo...

-[soloing]
-[gasps]

...by itself.

I just... I didn't know
it would get so out of control.

But, Vee, why didn't you just tell us
you couldn't get the solo?

I knew how excited you both were
for the new song.

I didn't want to let you down.

Vee, we're a band.
We're in this together.

And we'll figure it out together too.

-Really?
-Really.

But first, we should probably
make the spell go away.

Okay, I went home,
looked through my ghost guide,

then I dropped the book
and some pages fell out,

which made the book
very angry and chompy.

-But then--
-Demi!

Oh, sorry. The good news is,

I figured out how to break the spell.

Thanks, Demi.

Next up, the Ghoul Girls.

-[cheers and applause]
-That's us.

What are we going to do?

I still can't play the solo.

Should we cancel the act?

I don't know. But I can't do it alone.

Then I have a much better idea.
