[ominous music]
[yelling]
- [Rachel] Come on Joe!
- [Joe] Yeah, I'm behind you!
- [Rachel] Move, move!
- [Joe] I'm behind you!
- [Rachel] Run, f*cking run!
[crying]
- [Joe] Rachel, wait!
Wait, we have to go get Tom!
- [Rachel] No, we have to go!
- [Joe] We have to go get Tom.
- No, we have to get outta here!
[growling]
[sighs]
- My name is Howard Redman.
I was a Mythological
Studies Professor
at the university of
Westerham, England.
What you're about to
see is what remains
of footage of Rachel
Kusia and her team,
filmed on the day they died.
Two years ago, Rachel,
one of my students,
went to Romania to
film a documentary to
support her thesis.
She was completely obsessed with
the myths surrounding
the Hoia Baciu forest
and wanted to prove
that they were true.
She assembled a small
camera crew and found
a local guide who
agreed to take them
to the heart of the forest.
She left in November 2012 and...
That was the last
time I saw her.
I knew something was wrong
when she missed her deadline.
When I found out that the guide
and the camera crew
were also missing,
I took it upon myself to go to
Romania and search for them.
I wish I'd never set
foot in that forest.
It's not just a forest, the
stories aren't just stories.
The forest looks into
your soul and judges you.
And it decides
if you live or if you die.
Eventually I found
the camera in the snow
and I was able to
watch the footage.
I saw what happened
to them in the forest.
And I saw their deaths.
What you are about to
see is unedited footage.
I know that Rachel
would've wanted
the world to know
that she was right.
I don't know why the
forest let me live.
But after what I've seen...
The footage, the forest.
I don't know if I want to.
[g*nsh*t]
[static]
[Romanian singing]
[speaking Romanian]
[vocalizing]
- [Joe] This should be it, man.
- Yep.
Where is she?
- [Joe] I really
don't want to be here.
- [Tom] Relax.
[knocking]
- [Joe and Tom] Woah!
- [Tom] Dude, it's her!
- [Joe] Yeah.
- [Tom] Finally!
- [Joe] Startled me.
- Hi!
- [Tom] Hi.
- [Joe] Hey.
- Nice ride.
- [Joe] Yeah.
You got something better?
- Ah, not quite, I took the bus.
- [Tom] Cheaper.
- [Rachel] Yeah. I'm Rachel.
- [Joe] I'm Joe, the camera guy.
- I can see that.
[laughing]
- [Tom] Tom.
- [Rachel] Rachel.
I suppose you're the sound guy?
- [Tom] Yep.
- [Rachel] Great.
There's a place down the
hill where you can park.
There's a bar.
- [Tom] Ooh.
- Maybe we can meet inside?
- [Joe] Yeah, yeah.
- [Tom] Definitely.
- [Joe] Cool, cool.
- [Rachel] See ya.
- [Joe] See ya down there.
- [Tom] See ya there.
- Bye.
- [Joe] Bye.
[laughing]
- Well, I guess
it's down the hill.
- [Joe] That's
what the lady said.
- [Tom] Well, cheers to you.
- [Joe] Cheers, man.
- [Tom] Cheers.
[groaning]
f*ck!
- [Tom] Ugh!
Jesus!
Wow!
- Dude, this is evil.
- [Tom] Yeah, I think
this is the plum brandy.
[coughing]
- It burns.
f*ck.
- [Tom] Yeah, well, here,
have your camera back.
I don't want it anymore.
Your precious baby.
- Yeah, come here baby.
[kissing noise]
- I think I'll have some more.
- [Joe] Really?
[yelling]
Quit the drinking
man, come on, stop it.
- Dude, I wanna
get wasted tonight.
- [Joe] Shut up.
- [Tom] Like really wasted.
- [Joe] We have a really,
really long day tomorrow.
Shut up, shut up.
- We have to get wasted on this.
- [Joe] Dude dude dude.
- This is the best sh*t
that ever happened to us!
I swear to God!
- [Joe] Shut up, you're drunk.
Tom, you're drunk.
- [Tom] I'm not drunk!
Okay, I'm not drunk.
- [Joe] Stop.
- I'm sober.
I'm sober.
So let's have some fun!
[laughing]
- [Joe] Shut up Tom.
- [Tom] Come on.
- [Joe] Seriously, come
on man, shut the f*ck up.
- You're being a p*ssy.
- [Joe] No I'm not!
[breathing deeply]
Ah, good morning Romania!
- [Rachel] Joe.
- [Joe] Yeah?
- I get the feeling
that your sidekick
doesn't like me much.
- [Joe] Well, don't mind him.
He's just, well, he's just not
a morning person, that's all.
- Maybe if he hadn't
drunk so much last night.
- [Tom] You know I
can hear everything
you little lovebirds
are saying, right?
[laughing]
- [Joe] Can you
hear this, as*h*le?
[laughing]
- Come on.
Ready?
- [Joe] Ready.
- Let's go.
Tom?
- [Joe] Tom!
- [Rachel] What are you doing?
- [Joe] It's go time!
- Uh, pick it up.
- Why?
- Because.
I want you to pick it up.
[laughs]
- You gotta be kidding me.
[laughing]
- [Joe] Yeah, that's
a good boy, Tommy.
- I wanna get this straight.
I don't want either of you
guys messing around, okay?
- [Joe] Yeah, we're
cool, we're cool.
- Good.
- [Tom] So what's up?
- [Joe] No dicking around Tom.
- Tom, I want you to
know this is serious.
This is my job, this is my
first independent assignment.
Don't f*ck it up!
Okay?
- Okay.
- Good, I wanna hear you say it.
- I won't f*ck it up.
- [Rachel] Great.
[sighs]
- Man, why is she
picking on me, huh?
- [Joe] Give her a break Tom.
- I know what you're thinking.
But that b*tch is way
out of your league.
- [Joe] Woah woah woah, I
ain't thinking anything, okay?
Look, she obviously under a
lot of pressure right now,
just lay off her a bit, okay?
- Dude, I don't
give a sh*t, okay?
I'm just the sound
guy, f*ck her!
- [Rachel] Guys, look.
[dog barking]
Excuse me, do you speak English?
- Yes.
- [Rachel] Have you ever
been to Baciu Forest?
- No.
- [Rachel] Why not?
- Because it's an evil place.
- [Rachel] How can you
say it's an evil place
if you haven't been there?
- Well, my sister, she has.
- [Rachel] And what
happened to her?
[sighs]
- She really doesn't
like to speak about it,
but she's never been the same.
She was in the forest
for five hours,
but she looked like she had
been there for five months.
She had this horrible
rash, like red spots,
all over the arm.
And she was sick.
And she kept saying that the
forest was trying to k*ll her.
- [Rachel] Trying to k*ll her?
- Yeah, like punish
her for something.
- [Rachel] Did she tell you why
the forest was
trying to k*ll her?
- No, she really doesn't.
No, she doesn't like
to speak about it.
- [Rachel] I understand.
- [Young woman] I don't know.
- [Rachel] How did
she get out of there?
- I think she was just lucky.
She got lucky.
- [Rachel] Do you believe her?
- Yeah, she's my
sister, why wouldn't I?
Of course I do.
- [Rachel] Yes.
- Sorry, I really need to go.
- [Rachel] Thank you very much!
- [Joe] Thank you.
- [Rachel] That was a good one.
[crowd murmuring]
Okay.
[speaking Romanian]
- The Forest Baciu.
[speaking Romanian]
Most of them believe in God.
- [Rachel] Okay.
[speaking Romanian]
- So all kinds of religion.
[mumbling]
[speaking Romanian]
He heard something happened
in the Baciu Forest.
A meteorite or something.
- So you think it's haunted?
- Not really haunted, I
don't believe in haunted.
But it is strange.
- Tell me anything you
know about the forest.
- Well I've heard that the
trees don't have shadows.
- Okay.
- Some of my friends
got lost there
and they saw some lights
or something like that.
- Lights. What kind of lights?
- I don't know exactly.
- Tell me about the forest.
Anything you know.
[speaking Romanian]
- It's haunted.
[speaking Romanian]
So if you go inside
the red spots
start to appear on your skin.
- [Rachel] Do you know why?
- I don't know why.
I just heard.
Just what I read
in the newspaper.
- Have you ever
been in the forest?
- No. No.
- Are you scared,
thinking about the forest?
- No, but I don't want to go in.
I don't want to
go in the forest.
- Do you know
anyone who got into
the forest and never came out?
- No.
All of those things are...
In my opinion, are stories.
Only stories.
[kids yelling]
- Okay, tell me anything
you know about Baciu Forest.
Do you think it's haunted?
- I don't believe in this one.
I think it's a rumor.
Everybody talks about it's
haunted, it's full of ghosts.
And sometimes UFO.
But I don't believe it.
- Have you ever
been in the forest?
- Yeah, once.
- And what happened?
- We got drunk.
[laughing]
- And nothing happened?
- Nothing happened.
We searched every tree and
there was nobody there.
- Okay, no noises?
- Just us, very drunk.
[laughing]
- Stories about anyone
missing into the woods?
- No, no.
Missing dogs, missing
cats, but not people.
- Okay.
So you're totally
skeptical about this?
- Yeah, yeah.
- Stories.
- [Man] Yeah.
- Okay. Thank you very much.
- Quite welcome.
- [Rachel] I want to thank you
very much for coming here today.
- You're welcome.
- [Rachel] I know
you're an expert
and you know a lot of
things about Baciu Forest.
Is that so?
- Well, I wouldn't exactly
call myself and expert,
but I have been studying the
forest for some years now.
- [Rachel] Good.
Can you tell us, what have
you discovered in the forest?
- Where do I begin?
Well I have been noticing some
abrupt changes in weather there.
And people claim
they hear noises,
or their phone losing
signal for no reason.
And also, there
have been some...
Reports of people gone missing.
- [Rachel] People gone missing?
Explain that to me.
How come?
- Well it's not really
uncommon for some tourist
to go in the woods and get lost
or some local to go
missing in the forest.
Actually, the forest is
named after a shepherd,
who went in there with his
entire flock and went missing.
But this was many,
many years ago.
- [Rachel] Yes, but people
don't just disappear.
Do they?
- Not really, but you
see, in these parts,
there is a belief that
if you go into the forest
with darkness in your heart,
your inner demons will
manifest themselves
and you will be
judged and punished.
- [Rachel] That's a
little melodramatic!
- That may be, but you see,
the people that went
in there and came back,
were interviewed by us.
And even though
we haven't really
reached a conclusive verdict,
they all claimed the forest can
see in their souls,
in their hearts,
and knows their secrets.
But I don't really believe this,
I think it's just mass
hysteria and panic
that causes the brain to induce
these hallucinations
and delusions.
I refer to this as
The Devil Complex.
[birds singing]
- [Rachel] Joe.
- [Joe] Yeah?
- [Rachel] Get a
close up of the house.
- [Joe] Yeah.
- [Rachel] Great.
My God, look at the windows.
- [Joe] Yeah.
- [Tom] Yeah, this house looks
just like your old dollhouse.
- [Joe] Yeah, screw you Tom!
- [Tom] Maybe you and Uncle
Fester can come here and live?
[laughing]
- [Rachel] I see someone.
Come on.
Can you speak to me
about the forest?
- About the Baciu Forest?
- [Rachel] Yes!
- It's not a good place.
You shouldn't go in.
- [Rachel] Why?
- People die there.
They go in and they
never come back.
- Okay, we have a guide,
Mr. Dogaru, do you know him?
- They say he once
beat his wife so bad
she went in there
and never came back.
- Okay thank you.
- [Man] So be careful.
- Thank you very much.
Jesus!
- [Joe] Where's the boom?
- I don't see the
point of bringing it.
- Joe.
- [Joe] Yeah?
- We need as much
footage as we can,
so keep rolling, no matter what.
You keep recording, okay?
- [Joe] Okay.
- No matter what.
No matter what.
What did you expect?
- From you?
Nothing much.
[laughing]
I expect you to prove me wrong.
- [Joe] Rachel, who's that?
- [Rachel] That's our
guide, Mr. Dogaru.
Let's go.
- [Joe] Yeah, okay.
Right behind you.
- [Rachel] Mr. Dogaru?
[speaking Romanian]
I'm Rachel, the Professor
arranged for us to meet today.
[speaking Romanian]
A little.
If we speak Romanian.
- [Tom] I'm Tom.
[spitting]
Hey, Jesus!
Why did you spit on me?
Now that's just rude!
- [Rachel] Can I ask you,
why did you spit on him?
Like that?
- Here we spit three times
to scare off sacred spirits.
- Oh, I understand.
Do you believe the stories
they tell about the forest?
The myths?
- Myths?
- [Rachel] Yes, like the
forest knows your soul?
- [Tom] I've had
enough of her already.
[laughing]
- [Joe] You don't say?
- Dude, this place
gives me the creeps.
And that man, that man
definitely gives me the creeps.
I mean, think about it.
If he believes in
all that ghost crap,
why did he agree to bring
us here in the first place?
- [Joe] I don't know, man.
Maybe he just needs the
money, just like you?
- Sure, sure.
You keep telling yourself that
as the wife-beating m*rder*r
keeps leading us further
and further into
the mother-f*cking
middle of nowhere!
[laughing]
- [Joe] You're such
a drama queen dude.
If you're that
concerned about it,
just take it up with
Rachel, I don't know.
- [Tom] Yeah, now how come
I didn't think of that?
I should definitely take it
up with your new girlfriend.
- [Joe] Jesus, give it a rest.
What is up with
the weather, man?
- [Tom] So how long
is this going to take?
- [Joe] I don't know,
couple of hours I guess.
It depends on how much
it is to the circle.
- [Tom] Circle?
What circle?
- [Joe] You didn't
do any research?
- Yeah I did, I researched
my X-box all week.
- [Joe] Okay, so
there's supposed to
be this circle, okay?
Where nothing grows, like the
ground is dead or something.
- [Tom] Dead?
- [Joe] Yeah.
- That's impossible!
- [Joe] Well, go ask Rachel.
She probably knows how
much further it is too.
- [Tom] I think you
should go ask her,
I mean, she's your
new girlfriend right?
Ow!
You always love these
miserable b*tches.
Ow, Jesus, that hurt!
- [Joe] Please Tom,
just focus on the job.
- [Tom] Yeah yeah, like you're
focusing on Rachel's a*s?
- [Joe] Am not!
[laughing]
Seriously Tom, game face.
- Yeah yeah, game face.
At least I have a game face.
All you have is an ugly face!
[laughing]
- [Joe] Hey Rachel!
- [Rachel] Yeah?
- [Joe] How much further?
- [Rachel] How
far is the circle?
- [Mr. Dogaru] Depends.
- [Rachel] On what?
- Where it is today.
- [Tom] Bullshit.
- [Rachel] What?
Where's Tom?
- [Joe] I don't know.
Tom!
- [Rachel] Tom!
- [Joe] Tom!
- [Tom] Hold on,
I'm taking a piss!
- [Joe] Ah.
- [Rachel] Okay.
Ouch! sh*t!
[laughing]
[sniffling]
- [Joe] Wow.
[laughs]
I've never seen...
I've just never seen
weather like this before.
It's just...
- [Tom] Dude, this place
give me the creeps.
That man definitely
gives me the creeps.
[laughing]
- [Joe] Unbelievable.
- [Tom] Joe!
- [Joe] What, what?
[laughing]
- [Tom] Can you see that?
- [Joe] What is it?
- [Tom] It's a stuffed bear.
- [Joe] Really?
- [Tom] Yeah.
- [Joe] sh*t.
- [Tom] Aw, that's just sad.
The stuff coming out of it.
Look, Rachel found something!
- [Joe] Is that a shoe?
Is that a baby's shoe?
- [Tom] f*ck.
- [Joe] Rachel?
Rachel?
Rachel, you okay?
You okay?
- Yeah, sure.
- [Joe] Come on, let's go.
[heavy breathing]
Guys, guys wait up!
- [Rachel] Are you okay?
- [Joe] No, I feel strange.
A little dizzy. f*ck.
- [Rachel] Can we
stop for a second?
- [Joe] Yeah, yeah,
can we have a break?
- [Rachel] He's not okay.
He's feeling a little dizzy.
- [Tom] You okay there buddy?
- [Joe] Not really.
f*ck.
- [Mr. Dogaru] Normal.
- [Rachel] It's normal?
Well I heard some locals
talking about gold
or copper mining around here.
Could this sickness be the
result of copper poisoning?
- [Joe] sh*t, what,
I'm being poisoned now?
Jesus!
- sh*t dude, stay
away, you're poisoned!
[laughing]
- [Joe] f*ck you, Thomas.
- [Rachel] What?
Are you mocking me?
- Actually, I think...
I think you've had too
many dinners last night
and way too many beers.
[laughs]
- [Joe] Yeah, look
who's talking.
- [Tom] sh*t, I'm fine.
- [Joe] What?
- Sometimes in the forest,
you hear things.
[groaning]
- [Joe] f*ck.
Just...
Wait, wait wait.
- [Rachel] What is he doing?
[muttering]
- [Tom] Jesus!
- [Rachel] Can you hear?
- [Tom] I think it's Romanian.
I'll get my headphones.
- [Rachel] If it's Romanian,
maybe we can translate it?
[muttering]
[whispering]
- [Tom] What the?
Wait wait, shh, shh!
Jesus, here listen!
- [Rachel] Oh my God.
[whispering]
- [Joe] Wait wait wait.
- [Tom] What the?
- [Joe] Wait, wait,
he's coming up.
Something wrong?
- [Rachel] Okay.
- [Tom] Should I ask
him about the girl?
- [Joe] Shut up, shh, shh!
- [Rachel] Are you okay to go?
[owls hooting]
- [Joe] What?
[speaking Romanian]
- [Joe] Hey, hey hey!
Mr. Dogaru!
- [Rachel] That's an owl.
- [Tom] Mister...
- [Mr. Dogaru] Go!
- [Tom] What?
Mister Dogaru!
What the Hell?
- [Joe] Hey, come back!
- [Rachel] What, because
of that stupid f*cking owl?
- [Tom] Mr. Dogaru!
- [Joe] Hey!
- [Rachel] Mr. Dogaru!
- [Tom] Ah screw
that, I'm going back!
- [Joe] f*ck!
- [Rachel] No no no.
- [Tom] No, I'm going
back, f*ck this!
[yells]
- [Rachel] Oh my God!
- [Joe] Rachel!
Stop, stop, stop!
- [Rachel] Why?
- [Joe] f*ck.
- [Tom] Let's go back!
- Go where?
- [Tom] I don't know, back!
- [Rachel] Do you know
tracks, do you know anything?
Do you have a map?
No you don't!
- [Tom] Holy sh*t.
- [Joe] sh*t, dude, he
just f*cking disappeared!
- [Tom] Mr. Dogaru!
Come back!
Mother!
[static]
[crunching]
- That f*cking guy.
- [Joe] That guy
really f*cked us here!
- How the hell do
we get out of here?
How the hell do we
get out of here?
- [Rachel] Let me think!
- Think about what,
Christmas shopping?
- [Joe] Tom, let her think!
- No no no, we need to move!
We need to move now!
- [Joe] What good will that do?
We don't even know which way!
- Guys, shut up!
[pills rattling]
- [Joe] My leg is so itchy!
- [Tom] What's wrong with it?
- [Joe] I don't know!
Let me just...
- [Tom] Jesus Christ!
- [Joe] Woah, sh*t!
- [Tom] Did you have
that this morning?
- [Joe] Ah!
Well, you think I
would've noticed!
Ah!
- [Rachel] Like the girl said.
It's the sickness, the rash.
- [Joe] It's just a rash.
- This forest is so damn big.
And we're lost in it, what the?
Can you stand on your leg?
- [Joe] Yeah, yeah, I'm okay.
- [Rachel] Okay.
Let's just keep moving.
Maybe we'll find a way out.
- [Joe] Look, we've been
walking for over an hour now.
And we haven't found sh*t!
I mean, what the f*ck
happened to Mr. Dogaru anyway?
- [Rachel] I don't know.
I mean, this forest is
so deep, and so dense...
- [Joe] And you know...
You know we could be walking
in circles, right now?
- [Tom] Yeah, you're right.
- [Rachel] Yeah, you think
I'm stupid or something?
Dude, look.
- [Joe] Yeah.
How long have we
been following these?
- [Rachel] I don't
know, maybe a while.
- [Joe] They look like
a child's footprints.
- [Tom] sh*t, Jesus
Christ, it's gotta be true.
- [Joe] f*ck.
- [Rachel] Okay.
These must lead somewhere.
Come on, Joe, please.
Oh, my God.
I think there's someone...
- [Joe] Yeah.
What is that?
Come on, let's go.
Rachel, careful!
[static]
What the f*ck is going on?
- [Rachel] What happened to him?
- [Tom] Jesus.
- [Rachel] Tom, what
happened to him?
- [Tom] He's f*cking dead,
that's what happened to him!
- [Rachel] Oh my God.
- [Joe] Where you going?
- [Tom] I have no idea.
- [Joe] sh*t.
- [Rachel] Maybe he's
got a map or something?
Tom?
- [Tom] What, don't look at me!
I'm doing sh*t, you go!
I'm not touching him.
- [Rachel] Joe?
- I'm not f*cking touching him.
- [Joe] All right.
- [Rachel] Give me the camera.
- [Joe] I'll do it.
- [Rachel] Give me the camera.
Okay.
- [Joe] f*ck!
[gasping]
- [Joe] Nothing.
There was nothing.
Here, give me.
- [Rachel] Hold the camera.
- [Joe] Yeah.
God.
There's nothing on him.
- [Rachel] Okay.
- [Joe] f*ck.
- [Tom] Now what?
- [Rachel And Joe] I don't know.
- [Joe] Look, let's just go.
Let's just go, there's
nothing we can do.
- Did you pay Mr.
Dogaru in advance?
- [Rachel] No.
He refused.
- Oh, and you think
that wasn't weird, huh?
- I don't know,
you're the smart one.
Jesus, I'm freezing.
- [Joe] Let's just move, okay?
- [Rachel] Okay.
- [Joe] Let's just go.
- f*ck.
- [Rachel] Jesus, I'm freezing.
- [Tom] Freezing and starving.
- [Joe] Don't you have
any food in your bag?
- [Tom] If I had any
food left in my bag,
I would be eating it.
- [Joe] f*ck.
[yells]
- [Rachel] f*ck, jeez!
- [Tom] How the f*ck
do we get out of here?
Jesus Christ!
- [Rachel] Shh,
do you hear that?
[popping]
- f*ck, f*ck!
- [Joe] sh*t, ah!
- [Rachel] Tom, stop it!
- [Joe] Ow, my leg!
- [Rachel] Tom, stop it!
- [Tom] Why?
You don't want me drawing
any attention to us?
Well f*ck that!
Give me some f*cking attention!
- [Rachel] Tom, the footprints.
- [Tom] Hello?
- [Rachel] They
just disappeared.
- Can anybody hear me?
- [Joe] Guys!
- [Tom] f*ck!
You guys, there's
some signs over here.
- [Joe] sh*t!
What now?
- [Rachel] It's in Romanian.
- [Joe] Aw sh*t.
Rachel, Rachel,
can you translate?
[mumbling]
- [Rachel] It says
something about...
Oh no.
Something you have to pay for.
- [Joe] f*ck!
- You have to pay
for what you did.
This is so scary.
- [Joe] So it's a warning?
- [Rachel] What?
- [Joe] What's that Tom?
- [Rachel] Oh my God!
- [Tom] It says Diary.
- [Rachel] Okay, give it to me.
- What?
- [Rachel] Give it to me!
- [Tom] Why?
- [Rachel] It's mine!
- What?
- [Rachel] Give it to me!
That's mine.
Turn off the camera. Right now.
- [Joe] Hey, hey hey!
Tom.
Tom.
I think she knows
something, man.
Something she's not
f*cking telling us.
[clears throat]
Um, guys?
- [Tom] Yeah?
Guys, there's
something over there!
- [Rachel] Over where?
- [Joe] Over there.
By that tree!
[yells]
What the?
What is that?
- [Tom] Hearts.
That's giving me the
creeps, let's go.
- [Joe] Come on, we should
move, come on Rachel.
Rachel, come on.
- [Tom] Come on.
- [Joe] Rachel, come on.
Tom.
Tom, we need to talk, man.
- What?
- [Joe] That
journal just made...
Made Rachel nervous.
Okay, she knows something.
- I have the same feeling.
- [Rachel] Guys?
What exactly are
you keeping from me?
What do you know?
[laughing]
- What do we know?
What do we know?
What do you know?
You're the one who
acted strangely
when we found that journal!
For f*ck's sake,
you know something!
- [Joe] Tom, stop.
- [Tom] Why should I?
- [Joe] Look, stop okay?
We...
We did something.
- Have you seen my pills?
- [Joe] No.
- [Rachel] Tom, my pills?
- I haven't seen your pills.
- [Rachel] Joe?
- [Joe] No.
Tom, have you got them?
- [Tom] No!
What pills?
- [Rachel] Tom, I
need my pills, please.
- [Tom] Why?
What are they for?
- [Rachel] I just need them!
- [Tom] Why?
- [Rachel] It's for my nerves!
Okay?
I get a little
anxious sometimes.
- [Tom] Oh, you get
a little anxious!
- Yes, for example, right now!
[Tom laughing]
Give me my f*cking pills!
- [Tom] Well look who had
some skeletons in her closet!
- Oh, thank you very much, yeah.
Give me my pills.
- I don't have your g*dd*mn
pills, now piss off!
- [Rachel] You do!
- [Joe] Hey, guys!
Guy, guys!
- [Tom] You wanna fight?
- [Joe] Hey, hey, hey, Tom!
f*cking stop!
[yelling]
Jesus, stop!
- [Rachel] f*ck you!
- [Tom] f*ck me?
f*ck you!
- [Joe] Tom!
Jesus Christ, f*ck!
[coughing]
- I think we should
head that direction.
Definitely.
- Okay, I think we
should go that way.
- You gotta be
f*cking kidding me!
I just said that way!
- [Rachel] No, I think that way.
- What the?
Joe, say something, please.
- [Rachel] Oh my God!
- [Joe] What?
[yelling]
- [Tom] f*ck!
Mr. Dogaru!
- [Rachel] Oh my God!
- [Tom] Who's doing this?
Shh!
[squealing]
Can you hear her?
Make her stop, shut up!
- [Rachel] Tom, who?
- [Joe] Tom, Tom, Tom!
[yelling]
- [Joe] Stop, stop!
- [Joe] Tom!
- [Rachel] Tom?
- [Joe] Tom!
f*ck, Tom?
- We need to wake him up.
- [Joe] Yeah, I know.
- We have to go. Tom?
- [Joe] Tom.
- [Rachel] Tom.
Wake up. Can you hear me?
Tom!
f*ck, I need my pills!
- [Joe] Rachel,
Rachel, wait wait wait.
Rachel.
Rachel.
- We have to go.
- [Joe] Yeah, I know.
- Come on, Tom!
- [Joe] Wait, stop that!
- [Rachel] Tom!
Tom, can you hear me?
Wake up!
- [Joe] Rachel, stop that!
Stop!
- [Rachel] What?
- [Joe] He's probably
got a concussion.
- We don't have time!
- [Joe] Yeah, I know!
- Tom. Tom.
- [Joe] Rachel, stop!
- [Rachel] Wake the f*ck up!
We have to go!
- [Joe] Hey, look, look, look.
Look, he's coming
back, he's coming back.
- [Rachel] Tom.
- [Joe] Hey, Tommy.
Hey buddy.
- [Rachel] We have to go.
- [Joe] You okay?
- [Rachel] Fast.
- [Joe] It's Joe.
- [Tom] Oh hey.
- Where am I?
- [Joe] You bumped your head.
- What?
- [Joe] What?
- Where am I?
- [Rachel] Oh my God!
Okay.
- [Joe] Hey. You okay?
What's wrong?
[crying]
- I'm sorry Joe.
- [Joe] For what?
- [Tom] I'm really sorry.
- [Joe] For what?
For her.
- [Joe] Ah sh*t.
- The little girl.
- [Joe] f*ck.
Come on, come on man.
Can you stand, we need to go.
Come on, get up.
Here, here, come on.
I'll help you up, come on.
Give me your hand, that's it.
Here we go, yeah.
Hey, you okay?
Let me just brush that sh*t off.
f*ck.
[ominous music]
- [Tom] What the f*ck?
Jesus!
[screaming]
- [Rachel] Oh my God!
- [Joe] Rachel!
Rachel!
f*ck!
Rachel!
[yelling]
Rachel!
Rachel, get up, come on!
Come on Rachel, get up!
f*ck!
f*ck!
f*ck.
Guys, guys, hold on.
[groaning]
- [Rachel] Stop, stop.
- [Tom] No, no, no, we
have to keep moving!
- [Rachel] I think we should
stay here for the night.
- [Joe] Tom, Tom!
Rachel's right.
Rachel's right, it's gonna...
f*ck, it's gonna get dark soon.
- We won't be able
to see anything.
- We have the light
from the camera.
- [Rachel] Turn it off.
- [Joe] It just won't help.
It just won't help us.
Besides, Rachel's
in very much pain.
So we'll just have to stop here.
Look, look, you guys stay here.
I'll just go check
out the tent, okay?
- [Rachel] Okay, okay.
I'll wait here.
[muttering]
- [Joe] Hey, hey, what are
you guys whispering about?
- Nothing Joe, it's not
personal, believe me.
- [Joe] Hatching
plans behind my back,
I'd say that's pretty
f*cking personal, Tom!
- We're not hatching
plans behind your back!
What's wrong with you?
- [Tom] Joe, please.
Listen to me.
Please, I'm really
f*cking scared!
We have to keep moving, it's...
- Joe, give me the blanket.
- [Joe] Yeah, the
blanket, sh*t, here.
Oh, Tom, Tom, Tom, Tom!
It was in the blanket.
f*ck, is it full?
[gasping]
Is it full?
- [Tom] Yeah!
- [Joe] Okay, we have whiskey.
Tom, go find some wood!
- [Tom] Yeah. Here.
- [Joe] Rachel, you okay?
- [Tom] Keep an eye out!
- Is that still rolling?
- [Joe] Oh sh*t, yeah.
- I think my girlfriend's
having a sh*t fit.
[laughs]
She probably thinks I'm
pissing away the rent money.
- [Joe] You think she'll notice?
I mean, if you're missing?
- Well, I hope so.
I mean, she loves me, you know?
- [Joe] Rachel?
You got anyone who might
notice you're missing?
- [Tom] Hey, you got any more
of that nasty alcohol left?
- [Joe] I think she
feels safer in the tent.
- Yeah.
I wouldn't feel safe here
even if I had an AK-47.
[laughing]
- [Joe] Yeah.
We should just go inside.
- Yeah.
When...
When I was a child.
All I wanted was...
To grow up...
And become someone.
You know, someone good.
With a good soul.
This could be my last day alive.
I'm drinking and I'm
thinking to myself...
Is it good, what I'm doing?
I mean...
What could I do now?
I don't know.
[laughs]
Elizabeth, if...
Someday you see this.
I want you to know that I
really, really love you,
and I'm sorry if I
acted like a prick
and like a jerk.
And if I wasn't there
when I was supposed to...
Supported you.
Just to be there.
I'm sorry I couldn't do that.
I love you.
I love you.
- [Joe] Tom?
- [Tom] Yeah?
- [Joe] We should...
We should try to get some sleep.
- Yeah, we should.
I love you, be good Elizabeth.
- [Rachel] Tom.
- [Tom] Yeah?
- [Rachel] Go to sleep.
[gasping]
[rustling]
- [Joe] Rachel!
Rachel.
Tom!
Tom, wake up!
Tom!
f*ck!
Rachel!
Rachel!
- [Rachel] What?
- [Joe] You nearly
gave me a heart attack!
Why didn't you wake me up?
- [Rachel] Excuse me,
can I have some privacy?
- [Joe] Oh, okay, sorry, sorry.
[gasping]
- [Rachel] Why didn't
we bring torches?
- [Joe] Yeah, why
didn't we bring a map?
I'd rather pee my pants
than go out there.
- Well, I'm not like you, guys.
- [Joe] So...
Why is the forest punishing you?
- I...
- [Joe] We were at this party...
We had so much to drink.
Tom insisted on driving.
And...
Out of nowhere,
this little girl just
jumped in front of the car.
And went straight under it.
[sniffling]
Tom didn't stop,
we just kept going.
Who knows what she was doing
on the streets
that time of night.
[crying]
Then we...
We just dumped the car.
And moved to the states.
I just...
I shouldn't have helped him.
I shouldn't have
helped him cover it up.
I just...
f*ck.
- I think...
We all did things we
shouldn't have done.
I was in college.
My first year.
I had a daughter.
I was studying
for my first exam.
A friend of mine asked me
to take care of his dog.
I was studying in my room.
And I heard a noise.
I heard a girl screaming.
My girl.
And...
As I went down the stairs...
I saw the dog.
Biting her throat.
I tried to do
everything I could.
I tried to get the
dog off of her, but...
I just couldn't.
It was, it was too late.
I just stood there and watched
my girl.
Dying.
You know.
She used to draw
little drawings.
In my journal.
[sniffling]
[crying]
- [Joe] Jesus.
Tom, Tom!
Tom wake up!
- [Tom] What?
What?
- [Joe] Tom, it's Rachel!
It's Rachel, it's Rachel.
- [Tom] Rachel?
- [Joe] Yeah.
I don't know what's
wrong with her.
- [Tom] Rachel.
- [Joe] Rachel.
- [Tom] What's wrong with her?
- [Joe] I don't know.
- [Tom] Rachel!
Hey!
Rachel!
Hey!
What's wrong with you?
Rachel.
[gasping]
[screaming]
- [Joe] Rachel, get out!
Oh f*ck, oh f*ck!
[screaming]
f*cking get out, Rachel, go!
Go Rachel, go!
f*ck!
- [Rachel] Leave me alone!
- [Joe] Wait, Rachel!
- Where's Tom?
- [Joe] I don't know!
I don't know, I don't know!
[crying]
f*ck!
sh*t!
- [Rachel] Come on Joe!
- [Joe] Yeah, I'm behind you!
I'm behind you!
[yelling]

[crying]
Rachel, wait!
- [Rachel] What?
- [Joe] We have to go get Tom!
- [Rachel] No, we have to go!
- [Joe] We have to go get Tom!
- No, we have to get outta here!
[crying]
I can't move, I can't move!
- [Joe] Rachel, Rachel, listen.
Rachel, listen to me!
[Tom yelling]
- [Rachel] Tom!
- [Joe] Tom!
- [Rachel] Joe, come back!
- [Joe] Rachel!
- [Rachel] Please!
- [Joe] We have to go get him!
He was close, I heard him!
The scream was really close!
Please Rachel, we
have to go get him!
- [Rachel] No, no!
- [Joe] Rachel listen to me!
- [Rachel] Stop,
stop it, listen!
- [Joe] Listen to
me, Rachel, we--
- [Rachel] No!
- [Joe] Rachel, look at me.
We have to go get him Rachel.
Please, we have to go.
- [Rachel] We have to run.
[Tom screaming]
- [Joe] Please
Rachel, he was close!
Come on, come on, follow me.
Follow me Rachel!
Tom!
Come on Rachel, he
was close, please!
Please!
Tom!
- [Rachel] Tom!
- [Joe] Tom!
Tom!
Tom, Rachel, come on!
Come on Rachel!
Rachel, where are you?
Come on, I'm right here,
I'm right here Rachel.
Rachel please, come
on, he's close.
Tom!
We just can't leave him here.
Tom!
Tommy.
- [Rachel] Tom!
- [Joe] Tom, Tom!
- [Rachel] Oh!
- [Joe] Rachel.
Rachel, Rachel, look!
- [Rachel] Oh sh*t!
[yelling]
- [Joe] Tom!

[crying]
Tom.

[crying]

[screaming]
[growling]
- [Rachel] Oh my God, Joe!
Joe!
Oh my God!
Oh my God, Joe!
[gasping]
Shut up!
[whispering]
Shut up, shut the f*ck up!
Oh my god!
Shut the f*ck...
f*ck.
Oh my God!
[gasping]
[screaming]
[crunching]
[whispering]
