of the biggest regrets

that I have.

[Celia] My friend just

happened to do a seance.

I have never been

through a seance.

I never really believed in it.

I was skeptic about it,

and I had to

experience it firsthand.

[intense music playing]

It's my sister. [inhales sharply]

She found out someone died

in the house,

and now she thinks it's haunted.

and this weirdo she found.

[chuckles] Yeah, you're right.

- [Brooke chuckles]

[Celia gasps]

- [Celia grunts]

What happened?

My back. My back.

- [Celia breathes heavily]

[Celia grunts]

[Celia] I felt this

excruciating pain.

They noticed teeth marks.

I could feel

the burning sensation.

It comes on like if somebody had

stuck a hot iron on your back.

I was just sickened.

I was sickened. I was scared.

I had never, ever experienced

anything like that.

People play with fire and don't

understand what they're doing.

I could feel

the energy around me

was not, not the best of energy.

It felt really dark, menacing.

Was my very first experience,

and it certainly wasn't my last.

I was taken out

of the house to get some air,

to gather myself.

[Celia] When I got to my home,

it didn't feel like my home.

I didn't feel like myself.

I felt just out

of this world.

[keypad clacking]

[man 1 on TV] Keep him there.

[man 2 on TV] Started

lighting firecrackers,

antagonizing the dog.

- [dog barking on TV]

[man 2 on TV] Stop! What you doing?

You could get hurt.

[man 1 on TV] I own my puppy,

I can put it where I want.

Hey, are you gonna

step on that property?

Are you gonna

step on my property?

[man 3 on TV] These two would

do this daily.

Any time they saw each other,

there'd be someone

that would save them.

[dog barking]

[man 3 on TV] And Dean was

actually holding him to the ground

and letting his dog bite him.

[man 1 on TV] Look,

my dog didn't bite him.

[woman 1 on TV] There's a bite mark

on his hand. - [man 1 on TV] Yeah.

I did that.

[door knocks]

[kid 1 on TV] Dad, don't.

[door creaks open]

[young Celia]

That's not funny.

[intense music playing]

[wind whooshing]

[Celia] I was confused,

but there was no light

or objects there

to create that shadow.

[eerie music playing]

[Celia] A couple of days

after I was home

was when I started to

feel the change

in the atmosphere.

[objects clanking]

[ghost whispers]

[kettle thuds]

I felt, um, like I wasn't alone.

I felt like I was being watched.

[soft music playing]

[Celia] Johnathan and I are

like two peas in a pod.

We are each other's soul mate.

[Johnathan clears throat]

Celia makes me feel great.

I love her.

We love each other.

We met through my travels.

I wasn't really prepared

for the things that

I experienced with Celia.

So, the seance,

how did, uh how did it go?

It was weird.

What did you

I don't really want to

[eerie music playing]

[Johnathan scoffs]

[indistinct]

Celia.

Celia.

Hey, is everything okay?

Yeah.

Yeah, everything's fine.

I, um

I think I'm in the mood for

something a little stronger.

[Johnathan scoffs]

[footsteps receding]

[Celia breathes heavily]

I thought that there was

somebody there with me.

Then it just disappeared.

[birds chirping]

[cellphone vibrates]

Hey, Brooke.

- [Brooke on phone] Hey, Ce.

Okay, are you free?

Spontaneous girls' night.

Jen and Becca are coming.

Um, I have some errands to run.

[Brooke on phone] Oh, come on.

I haven't seen you in weeks.

[Celia] The shadow

was very tall.

And I heard that

guttural growl again.

And the smell

the odor was sulfur.

I couldn't have anticipated

how bad things would get.

[panting]

[wind gushing]

[door creaks open]

[door slams shut]

[intense music builds]

[Celia] Things were

getting stranger by the day.

You would never, ever expect

to experience

what I experienced.

[stove knob rattling]

[drawer slides open]

Get together, Celia.

[drawer slides close]

- [kettle whistling]

[gasps]

I didn't know what to do.

[breathes heavily]

[Celia] I thought

I was going crazy.

[Johnathan] It's

a helpless feeling

whenever you're watching

someone that you love

have fear, anxiety,

and you just don't know why.

[intense music playing]

[object clattering]

[floorboard creaking]

[door creaks open]

[menacing growl]

- [Celia screaming]

someone's in my house.

out of the house.

No, uh I'm sorry.

I was mistaken.

[intense music builds]

[menacing growl]

- [Celia screams]

Welcome back to

[menacing growl]

[Celia] It was at that moment

where the entire atmosphere

completely changed.

I could smell

the sulfur in the air.

I knew something was there

that targeted me,

and I was hurt pretty bad.

It was, uh, pretty,

pretty intense.

After what happened

to me and on the steps,

at that moment,

I had to figure it out.

[birds chirping]

[fridge door creaks]

[Brooke] The restaurant was amazing.

You would have loved it.

Mmm-hmm.

What's wrong?

Has anything

strange happened to you

since the night of the seance?

[Brooke chuckles]

Like, in what way?

Have you seen anything,

heard anything?

I believe something

definitely attached itself to me

since that seance.

Oh, like a ghost? [chuckles]

No. No.

Has anything weird

happened to you?

[Brooke] No, nothing.

What about your sister?

[Brooke] No.

She said whatever she

heard in the house stopped.

[Celia] I feel like I became

its chosen person

to torment.

And I don't know why

it did exactly that.

It tormented me at home.

I asked myself, "What

did I get myself into?

What did I

Why did I do that?

Why did I challenge it that way?

How could this be?"

And, uh

I feel that it's just

been something

that's just been

with me ever since.

[Celia] Just knowing

that somethings like that

out there, so strong,

so menacing, so evil

targeted me,

it's scary.

It was hard.

And there were times that

I actually felt like

I wanted to just give up.

[Johnathan] Something was off

and I couldn't,

couldn't do anything.

[intense music playing]

[eerie whooshing]

[intense music builds]

[door knocks]

[intense music playing]

[door banging]

[door banging continues]

[eerie music playing]

[Celia] I felt dark.

I, I was depressed.

I felt sad all the time,

and, and

my emotions were just

thrown off.

I distanced myself

from everyone,

my friends, my family.

[Johnathan] Celia didn't

want to do anything.

She would have a lot

of anxiety attacks.

[Celia] I'm normally

a very happy person.

I love people. I love life.

And I actually felt like

I hated everything.

[birds chirping]

[window taps]

- [Celia gasps]

[crows cawing]

[door creaks open]

[menacing growl]

[door creaks open]

[Celia] The guttural growl

that I heard

was not something

a human could do.

I honestly think it was demonic.

I did research on different

energies, different demons.

With everything

that I've read, um

and researched

entities are drawn to

people for a reason,

whether they are good or bad,

and they can attach themselves

to you from anywhere.

I was terrified.

I was feeling really, really

terrified and confused.

Um, I still wanted

to understand it

uh, but I was really

I was afraid.

[intense music playing]

[Celia] I challenged it.

I showed it I wasn't afraid.

Face me.

[menacing growl]

Mmm-mmm. Coward.

[Celia screaming]

[menacing growl]

[intense music builds]

[screams]

I pissed it off, and I think

that, that is the reason

why it attacked me,

it attached itself to me.

I felt like it was a fight

or flight moment for me.

I can either run

or I can face it.

And I decided I'm gonna fight.

I said, "You're not

going to scare me.

You're not going to bully me.

I'm not going

to let it happen."

So I faced it.

[demon] Coward!

[Celia choking]

Someone [coughs] help.

I don't want to die.

[menacing growl]

[gasps for air]

[panting]

[Celia] I was scared.

I thought, "That's it for me.

What do I do now?"

I didn't know what to do.

I felt like

my world was crumbling down.

[sobbing]

[breathes heavily]

I smelled sulfur.

[breathes heavily]

[Celia] Kind of like

a rotted flesh.

[sobbing]

[Celia] Jonathan

didn't really know

my experience until I told

him what happened to me,

and he could either

think I was nuts

or he could believe me.

Yeah, Celia, she was

a little nervous about

telling me,

a little apprehensive.

She wasn't quite sure

how I would take it.

He was like, "Wow, you know, that's pretty

that's pretty crazy."

And I had asked him

if he believed me.

Of course, I believe you.

Why would you lie to me?

[Celia] One night I woke up,

I told him that

my back was burning,

and he saw

the scratches on my back.

I was I was dead asleep.

It's not something

that I did to myself.

I don't keep nails.

I have very short nails.

[interviewer speaking]

- No.

Honestly, if anyone else

would have told me that,

I don't think I would

have believed them,

but coming from her, I,

I believed what she was telling me.

She was a little nervous about

telling me about that story

of what she experienced in

that house with her friends.

So obviously I had questions

about what had happened,

um, if it could

have been staged,

if it was faked, if someone

else was doing that,

and she said that she

thoroughly investigated the area

and none of it was, was faked.

So that was just something that

really shocked me, you know,

for something

like that to happen.

And then the things

that occurred

after that and still occur

is even more still to this

day, it's still surprising.

Something definitely

followed her home that night,

and it has been with her

ever since then.

Unfortunately,

when you do things like that,

you know, you're opening yourself

up to all kinds of bad things.

What should I do?

We fight it.

[Johnathan] When we

first moved in together,

it absolutely made us stronger

in our relationship

and everything else in between.

For the first time,

it was very positive.

I had, uh, decided

I was gonna try

to make things

feel like home again.

And showered, I cleaned

my place, I did laundry,

I went out to the store.

I was trying to feel

like myself again.

[soft music playing]

you literally can't move,

you can't do anything.

It's very, very scary when

something like that happens.

Something physically

held me down.

I didn't think things could

get this bad, honestly.

But they, they did.

[Celia] I felt like,

"You know what?

You're trying

to hurt someone I love."

You're trying to take

advantage of someone I love.

I'm not gonna

allow you to do that.

[Celia] That following day

was when we

reached out to a priest.

[footsteps approaching]

I was worried.

I was worried about him.

I was also worried

is it the attachment that I have

that's attacking him now,

it's targeting him?

I didn't want it to

scare him away.

I didn't want to lose him

you know, to something that was

trying to put fear into him.

I want to make sure

that we are protected.

We're down to battle whatever

it is that we have to battle.

And it can become exhausting.

It can be depleting.

We have to focus and just

fight it.

[Johnathan] Faith

is a big thing for us.

With what we deal with,

it's overwhelming.

It would be hard to

deal with it without faith.

I don't know what we would do.

[intense music playing]

[inhales and exhales sharply]

he, uh, he was prepared.

[Celia] He went

from room to room

closets, bathrooms.

He went throughout

the entire house.

Started from upstairs,

worked his way all the way downstairs.

[intense music builds]

[Celia] It made me feel like

I was protected.

[door creaks shut]

It made me feel safe again

and, uh, my home

felt better after that.

[intense music builds]

[Celia] I honestly think that that

entity was trying to finish me,

trying to

take me with it.

I took it as

a challenge to face it,

and to challenge it with prayer.

I wasn't gonna let it take me.

I started to pray

and pray.

And it finally let me go.

[Celia] I could go

anywhere in the world

and it still

reminds me every day

that it's with me.

Normally what I do is

I'll burn the palo santo.

This is um, holy wood,

sacred wood.

Has a great smell. It's sweet.

Uh, we would burn this

along with the white sage.

And I always recite Saint

Michael's prayer protection

over and over again.

Saint Michael, the Archangel,

defend us in battle.

Be our protection against the

wickedness and the snares of the devil.

May God rebuke

him, we humbly pray,

and do thou, O Prince

of the Heavenly Host. Amen.
