"Deceitful, Mysterious, Exposed Marie"

Narrator: Today marks the fall festival!

Narrator: Fireworks fly across the land.

Narrator: Every year, the students of Kalmia High look forward to seeing them after school.

Arthur: I have student council work to do. I can't participate.

Marie: I see.

Arthur: Of course I want to see the fireworks with Marie... but it's not that simple!

Marie: If I were a human girl, I'm sure I would have fallen in love with you.

Arthur: I-It's hopeless! After what she said to me,

Arthur: I can't help seeing her that way.

Marie: That really is a shame.

Marie: I'll at least wait for you until you finish.

Arthur: I appreciate it. Later.

Marie: I would've loved to watchthe fireworks with Master Arthur.

Marie: Friends, huh?

Bridget: Even on that tropical island, I longed for Arthur to say,

Bridget: "You useless sows!"Or, "Get back to your pig farm!"

Amy: I know!

Marie: That's Master Arthur's fan club.

Marie: I'd sure like to make friends with them and see the fireworks together.

Marie: But just wishing won't do anything, will it?

Marie: I came prepared!

Marie: I baked these cookies in cooking class!

Marie: They'll make a perfect token of friendship.

Marie: Um...

Marie: W-Would you like to be friends?

Marie: Maybe watch the fireworks together?

Bridget: Why, Marie.

Nicole: Yes, we'd love to.

Allison: Wow! Those cookies look delicious.

Marie: I made them for all of you.

Marie: Okay. The simulation checks out.

Marie: But just to be safe, I'll do one more practice run.

Marie: W-Would you please be my friend?

Noah: You bet I will.

Marie: Huh?!

Noah: Are these for me?

Noah: Nice!

Marie: Hey! Don't just—

Noah: I was confident in my poison tolerance, but these are intense.

Noah: So, you want to make friends with those girls?

Noah: It'll never work, though.

Noah: They're all rich kids, raised in the lap of luxury,

Noah: so you'd stick out like a sore thumb in their group.

Marie: I already planned for that problem!

Marie: Marie... in rich girl mode!

Bridget: So then, Arthur—

Marie: Goodness me. How do you do?

Amy: Huh? Marie?

Bridget: A-Are you trying out a new look?

Marie: How rude of me not to introduce myself sooner.

Marie: Like you, I am a wealthy debutante.

Marie: My hobbies include... horses.

Marie: I like lifting them.

Marie: And pianos. I lift those too.

Marie: Dear me, your meal there looks a trifle lacking in protein.

Marie: Tea is hardly complete without it.

Bridget: This is beyond barbaric!

Nice: She's an impostor for certain, no doubt!

Allison: Away with her!

Marie: Oh my!

Noah: You okay?

Noah: Lunch is almost over. Think the wholemaking friends thing will pan out?

Marie: I've never met anyone I wanted to make friends with more.

Dear Bridget,

I'm sorry for earlier.

Please be friends with me!

I want to see the fireworkstogether.

Yours truly,Marie

Marie: I'm sorry for earlier.

Marie: Please be friends with me!

Marie: I want to see the fireworks together.

Marie: Yours truly, Marie.

Marie: I got someone to tell me where the fan club president's locker is.

Marie: Maybe it will be easier to get through to them in writing.

Noah: A letter? That's all?

Marie: I enclosed the best present I could think of to cheer her up.

Marie: I just hope she likes it.

Bridget: My, what's this? A letter?

Amy: What a lovely envelope.

Laura: Perhaps it's a love letter.

Bridget: You think so?

Bridget: Let's see here...

Marie: Huh?

Bridget: A-A four-leaf clover?!

Bridget: She knew about my ultra-specific four-leaf clover allergy and set this trap for me!

Marie: No way.

Noah: How would you know that?

Bridget: Darn this... this thing!

Bridget: I! Am! Seething!

Amy; Laura: S-Seething!

Homeroom Teacher: This concludes homeroom for the day.

Homeroom Teacher: Or so you thought! Well, think again!

Homeroom Teacher: Take a look at this!

Homeroom Teacher: Who was it?! Who broke my favorite vase?!

Homeroom Teacher: You tried to hide it with tape, but I can tell!

Homeroom Teacher: Oh, my poor flowers!

Homeroom Teacher: As punishment, the guilty student will stay late and clean the classroom!

Homeroom Teacher: And homeroom will not end until I find out which of you was responsible!

Homeroom Teacher: That means no fireworks!

Students: What?!

Students: No way!

Students: They're starting in ten minutes.

Girl A: But I want to see the fireworks!

Noah: The fastest way out of this is for someone to take the fall and stay late.

Marie: Here.

Marie: I broke the vase.

Noah: What about your new pals?

Marie: I'll live.

Marie: I wanted friends to see the fireworks with,

Marie: but everyone else is so excited for them.

Marie: So to preserve that...

Marie: and not spoil everyone else's fun,I can live with this.

Boy A: Man, good thing that gloomy nobody raised her hand.

Boy B: She's got no friends, so it works out perfectly.

Boy C: Even though we're the ones who really broke the vase.

Noah: Oh yeah?

Noah: That's really great to know.

Boy B: H-Hey, you're that honor student.

Boy A: You've been getting on my nerves for ages.

Boy A: Nice timing. I'll show you who's boss!

Boy A: Forget everything you just heard!

Boy A: Or else!

Noah: Oh? You're throwing the first punch?

Noah: That makes this...

Noah: self-defense.

Boy A: I-I'm so sorry.

Noah: Let's set the record straight.

Noah: No one bullies Marie except me.

Boy A; B; C: We broke that vase!

Boy A; B; C: We smashed it horsing around, and now we're cleaning up!

Marie: What are they...

Noah: Come along now.

Noah: Got it? Speak clearly when you talk to them, and try to act natural.

Marie: U-Um...

Noah: Now get going!

Marie: Hey!

Marie: Whoa, whoa, whoa...

Bridget: Marie? What can we do for you?

Marie: Be brave.

Marie: Would you be my friends?

Bridget: No, thank you.

Bridget: Have you been hovering around us all day just to ask that?

Bridget: We can never be friends!

Bridget: We simply don't see eye to eye.

Bridget: However, I do respect your feelings for Arthur.

Bridget: So...

Bridget: I would watch the fireworks with you, not as friends, but as good rivals.

Bridget: My name is Bridget. Pleased to have you.

Allison: Oh, Marie, about the vase in the classroom...

Nicole: We told the teacher you'd never do that and it must have been someone else!

Marie: Thanks a million!

Marie: Noah...

Marie: Thank you.

Bridget: It's nearly time.

Bridget: Come along, Marie.

Marie: Right!

Arthur: Are you all right?

Fan Club: Arthur!

Arthur: I finished my work early.

Arthur: May I join you?

Bridget: Y-Yes.

Bridget: Of course!

Arthur: Tch. It's hard to see the fireworks.

Arthur: Be my footstool!

Bridget: Yes, sir!

Amy: Aren't they pretty?

Marie: Nothing beats watchingthe fireworks with everyone.

Girl A: Oh, Noah. We've been looking for you.

Girl B: What were you up to?

Noah: Oh, sorry.

Noah: I couldn't take my eyes off all that beauty.

Roy: These are articles about you in your youth.

Roy: I've collected and disposed of almost everything. These are all that remain.

Roy: I'm sure they bring back memories, so look them over one last time.

Roy: And Master Arthur has gone out for a nighttime stroll.

Roy: You should call it a day.

Marie: Right.

Marie: The fireworks sure were fun.

Marie: Marie has been the only one I could call my friend,

Marie: but now I have Bridget and the fan club girls too.

Arthur: What's this?

Fighting News

Mechanical Marie

Marie: Did you see the fireworks yesterday too, Marie ?

Marie : I detected the sounds of explosions.

Marie: They were incredible.

Marie : Wow.

Marie: All different colors bursting across the sky.

Marie : Wow.

Arthur: Nothing! Zip! Nada!

Arthur: All information about this "Marie Evans" is suspiciously absent!

Ms. Macie Ebbins

Arthur: When I access this article, the photos and name are different!

Arthur: The whole thing feels deliberate.

Roy: Don't tell me the young master's discovered your true identity!

Roy: But this is hardly the first time he's acted strangely.

Marie: True.

Marie: And how could it happen now, after all this time?

Marie: If he was going to figure out I'm human, he would have already.

Roy: True.

Marie: The AA batteries should've exposed me.

Marie : Or the first time he touched your hair or skin.

Roy: Or really, the moment he laid eyes on you.

Roy: Forget it. I'm overthinking things.

Marie : Oh, you!

Narrator: Because Arthur had been so oblivious, the trio quickly grew complacent.

Arthur: I won't get anywhere looking things up online!

Arthur: I'll have to investigate in person!

Arthur: If it turns out Marie is human...

Arthur: I'd better be ready to defend myself.

Arthur: I've had it with being lied to!

Staff A: Bees!

Staff A: Bees have infiltrated the house!

Marie: You're not hurt, are you?

Staff A: Thank you! We were scared stiff!

Arthur: Does she know no fear because she's a robot?

Staff: Whoa!

Arthur: Can she lift heavy objects without any sign of effort because she's a robot?

Staff B: She cleans, takes out intruders, and even patrols the house.

Staff B: I sure couldn't work dawn-to-dusk like that.

Arthur: Does she never tire because she's a robot?

Marie: Please, I never cause Master Arthur anything but trouble.

Marie: I hope you'll all do your best for him.

Arthur: Is she nice to me because she's been programmed to be?

Arthur: Oil?!

Marie: What a pain just to hydrate.

Marie: This thing's hard to drink from.

Marie : Relubrication complete.

Arthur: What have I been thinking?

Arthur: That had to be a fake article someone put together.

Arthur: Marie, come with me.

Marie: Y-Yes, sir.

Arthur: I can only play the piano like this thanks to you.

Arthur: I've been tormented by my past all this time.

Arthur: You save me just by being here.

Arthur: I can trust you. You don't lie.

Arthur: Because you're a robot.

Marie: If you...

Marie: If you're happy, Master Arthur, then so am I.

Arthur: Marie's a robot.

Arthur: Robots aren't supposed to have emotions.

Arthur: So why...

Arthur: How can she smile so joyfully?

Arthur: Like a human would.

Arthur: It's faint, but she has a pulse.

Arthur: Oh, I see.

Arthur: Marie, you're really...

Marie: Master Arthur...

Marie: Master Arthur?

Arthur: Marie, you're no robot.

Arthur: You aren't programmed.

Marie: Do you feel unwell?

Arthur: But you've helped me so many times.

Arthur: You've always stood by me and been on my side.

Arthur: There's no dishonesty in that, is there?

Arthur: Would you mind hugging me? Just for a bit?

Marie: I knew it. You aren't feeling well.

Marie: Yes, of course.

Arthur: Ah, I can hear Marie's heartbeat.

Arthur: It wasn't a robot maid I fell in love with.

Arthur: It was you, Marie Evans.

Arthur: Marie's human.

Arthur: But she doesn't seem to want to k*ll or entrap me.

Arthur: In which case...

Roy: Marie, what's wrong?

Roy: There really is one sheet missing!

Arthur: Does he mean that article I picked up?

Roy: If the young master ever discovers that you're human,

Roy: I'll have to send you somewhere far away as we discussed before.

Arthur: Roy... So you're behind it all!

Arthur: Wait, "somewhere far away"?

Marie: Yes, I completely understand.

Marie: What happened with Daryl really hit home for me

Marie: that deception will only hurt Master Arthur.

Marie: A liar like me has no right to stay by his side.

Marie: When he finds out, I'll leave immediately.

Marie: I have no regrets.

Roy: I don't mean to make you bear the burden alone.

Roy: I'm the one who hired you.

Roy: I plan to disclose everything to the young master,

Roy: apologize for betraying him, and face the consequences.

Marie: Roy...

Marie : Marie! Roy! I found the missing page.

Marie : It fell into the garden hedges.

Marie: Thank goodness.

Arthur: That article...

Arthur: I made the right call leaving it where I found it.

Ah ha ha

Arthur: Marie...

Arthur: To you, I'm probably just part of your job,

Arthur: but I love you.

Arthur: I want to be with you always.

Arthur: So I'll make certain...

Arthur: you never find out I know your secret!

Arthur: Not ever.

Next Time

Arthur: A lot has happened,

Arthur: but before we go to the amusement park, I want to make this much clear:

Arthur: this is a very important time for Marie and me!
