01x01 - G'Day Mate!

Post by bunniefuu »

When the captain asks for
something, he wants it.

I'm a grown man, brother.

Like, I don't need to be here.

I don't give a *bleep*
who the captain is.

It's like a slap in the face.

That's yachting.

Whoa, we got them high seas!

Sorry, I'm flashing you
my cooch right now.

[shouting]

I love that!

Captain is just hawt.

They are.

What are you looking for?

Gold.

This the table here.

First one down,
second one down, walk out.

I'm the chief stew now, b*tches.

Okay.

*bleep*, I hope I can do this.

Let's get in the water.

This is all about
the guest experience.

When you're underwater,
it's the ultimate escape.

It's like we're just in
a floating circus.

Woo!

Oh, God.

I'm a stickler for time.

You're on a yacht,
can't be a stickler for time.

Don't really care
what they think,

I'm ready to just get 'em
off the boat.

It's disrespectful.

I'm gonna be arrogant,

because people like
that gotta learn.

But how many yachts have
you actually worked on?

I don't know, how many
vacuums have you pushed?

How many ----ing
frying pans did you flip?

You stick to vacuums,
I'll stick to cooking.

Ah!

What's happening down there?

It's big, it's fast,

Don't walk off on me.

This is the second time now,
and I've had enough.

I don't want your attitude.

If you wanna bring
it up three decibels,

I'll bring it up four, okay?

Why are you working so slow?

I never work slow, okay?

- No, I know...
- Never work slow.

Don't raise your voice to me,
I'm your chief stew.

*bleep* you all, you all
have your own ----ing same

bullsh--...

I'm gonna terminate
your employment today.

[shouting]

I worked my
----ing a*s off.

Exactly.

What you're showing now
is your backstabbing attitude,

All right?
So, just chill out.

Whoa, whoa, whoa!

I will not be
disrespected anymore,

and you will take your
foot off my head.

Do you understand?

Oh, my God, back, back...

Ooh!

Ah!

Tender, tender, shark-feeding
time is coming up.

Oh sh--.

We've gotta help those guys.

It's looking good.

Ooh, I feel like
I stink a little bit.

All right, give me some crew!

All right.

Oh, this is gorgeous!

Hello!

- Chiefie!
- Hi!

- How are you, I'm Jason.
- I'm--

Pleased to meet you.

I'm Aesha, it's so nice
to meet you, come here.

I'm the chief stew now.

Welcome to Australia.

It actually reminds me
a lot of New Zealand,

just way more tropical.

I've been second stew
for about four years now.

I was all over the Med
and I've absolutely loved it.

- Here you go, lovely lady.
- Thank you.

Interior has been
above and beyond.

Oh, wait...

[farts]

- Oh!
- Ah!

I'm so excited to be
yachting in Australia.

It's nice to be back
in my familiar area.

Are you usually based up here?

Last two years,
I've been back here.

Yeah?

But I do a lot of Indonesia
and Papua, New Guinea...

Oh, cool.

And then I was overseas
before that.

Oh, awesome.

I've got my dive certificate.

You're gonna love it.
It's gonna be fun.

As an adventurer
and a thrill-seeker,

a lot of my decisions
are intuition.

I give everything a go.

You know the saying the grass
isn't greener on the other side?

I disagree... the grass
is greener on the other side.

So, I keep jumping over
the fence and mow the lawn.

Don't sit there, pondering.
Life's too short.

You can have a browse
through some of these CVs.

Yes.

I just had a walk-around,
the boat looks great.

- It's in good condition.
- Nice.

I did give it a wash.

So, that was me yesterday.

- Yay, thank you.
- You'll enjoy it.

Smash it.

Can't wait, we'll
have a good season.

Yeah, good to have you aboard.

It's in such a good condition,
I'm so lucky.

Oh *bleep* yeah,

Very roomy.

All righty, here we go.

Who's got more experience?

- Jamie, is it?
- How's it going?

Yeah, good, mate,
welcome aboard.

Thanks very much, yeah.

So, your CV's strong,

your leadership qualities
in your past as well.

Mm-hmm, I was on a boat
for almost two years.

I was deckhand/medical, so...

I've got a little bit of extra
training I have to give you

as a first-time bosun

and you and I work
together a little bit more.

Yeah, yeah.

It looks good on paper, everything.

Yeah.

In my past
I've been a lifeguard,

I've been a security officer,

I've been a police officer,

I've been a topless waiter...

I've been a
few different things.

But I'm 36, I'm a little
bit older than other bosuns,

so there's no messing around.

It's time to get sh-- done.

We'll have a meeting later,
when everyone gets together.

Sounds good to me.

- Yeah?
- Yeah.

Good to have you aboard.

All right, thanks very much.

This thing's beautiful.

- Hi.
- Hi!

- How you doing?
- I'm Ryan, nice to meet you.

Ryan, so nice to meet you.

Pleasure, pleasure, pleasure.

- Aesha.
- Aesha, nice to meet you.

- Oh, so you're the chef?
- I'm the chef, yes.

Oh, lovely.

As in...

I mean, yeah, don't be stupid.

I think most people
describe me as arrogant,

and they're probably right.

I don't like to be
confined to, like,

any box when it
comes to cooking.

How long you been
cheffing for?

I grew up in Philadelphia,
blue-collar, middle class.

When you grow up on
the East Coast,

you smell bullsh-- pretty easy.

How long have you been
working on superyachts?

- Five years.
- Oh, awesome.

Being on boats, I've had
full control over my menus.

I wanna cook what I wanna cook.

I just wanna do what
Ryan wants to do.

I gave you the big bed up there.

- Woohoo.
- I thought you deserved it.

Yes, I like to be the one
that does the stepping-on, so...

Hello?

Ugh.

Thalassa.

Love it!

- Ryan.
- Jamie.

- Pleasure.
- Pleasure.

You guys are gonna
be rooming together.

- Cool.
- Ooh.

I'm excited about this galley,
look at that space.

- Hello.
- Hello!

I'm Tumi.

- Nice to meet you.
- Ooh.

Where are you from?

I'm from Poland,
where are you from?

South Africa.

You're South African, that's my
second home, South Africa.

Really?

Oh, my gosh.

There's so many girls that
I know that are coming

from modeling to
yachting industry.

It kind of makes sense...

you have a boat for,
like, $50 million,

so you wanna make sure
that everything's

gonna look perfect...
even your crew.

When did you start yachting?

Six months ago,
on a 27 meters motor yacht.

Okay.

G'day, how you doing?

- Hi, I'm Brittini.
- Gimme a hug.

- Hi!
- I'm Benny, nice to meet you.

You, too.

- We're matching!
- We'll just hang here.

- That is weird.
- That's cute.

- What's your position?
- I'm a deckhand.

Awesome, deckie as
well, yeah, yeah, yeah.

- Oh, dope!
- Yeah.

Have you worked on deck before?

Yeah, I was deckhand, like,
for eight months on a boat...

Nice.

- Hi!
- Hi!

This is so exciting!

- So nice to meet you, hello.
- Nice to meet you.

Do you guys wanna come down
and have a look at your cabins?

- Yes!
- Yay, let's go!

It's so exciting!

- Magda.
- Yes?

You're in here with me.

So, that's your cabin there,
and then I think you're in here.

Oh, my God, it's gorgeous.

- Hello.
- G'day!

Hey, what's up, guys?

- Culver.
- Benny.

- Nice to meet you, Benny.
- Nice to meet you, man.

- Hi, I'm Brittini.
- Culver, nice to meet you.

You, too.

I'm from Maryland.
Where are you guys from?

- I'm from Sydney.
- Michigan.

Team.
I'm Jamie.

- Hey, Jamie, Culver.
- Nice to meet you, Culver.

- Nice to meet you.
- Hi, I'm Brittini.

Hi, Brittini.

- How you doing, Jamie, Ben...
- Benny, nice to meet you, man.

Yeah, pleasure, dude.

- Yeah, sounds good.
- Woo!

Let's do it.
Come this way.

So, yeah, we've got
three washing machines

and three dryers, which
is ----ing amazing.

- Great.
- That's great.

- Hey, man, how you doing?
- Ryan.

Benny, nice to meet
you, Ryan, pleasure.

How are you?

- Take the bottom, go ahead.
- All right, cool.

What the...
Look at that sh--.

What do you do, dude, like,
you climb a mountain?

No, I just play football
and lacrosse,

you know, in the States.

I've always been
in pretty good shape.

In Maryland, there ain't a whole
lot going on in the winter.

We're just crushing
weights, you know?

As soon as I got
into yachting,

I related it so much to a team
environment, and sports...

I love it.

Some team camaraderie,
whew, I'm fired up.

Working out is just my thing.

- Are we roommates?
- Hi, yes!

Oh, yay!

Such a good-looking
crew, honestly.

No one's ugly.

There's definitely a couple
of good-looking gals.

Doesn't hurt.

All crew, all crew, can we
meet in the bridge deck aft?

Copy.

Let's head up.

Welcome.

[squeals]

Hot, Jesus.

We've got a pretty busy
season ahead of us,

which is gonna be fantastic.

He is so handsome.

He's like this real man.

I try not to put the
word "rules" in place,

but I want youse all to
actually participate

in helping the crew mess staying
a nice, clean environment.

If there's disrespect
in our own housekeeping,

I think that's disrespecting
us all as a team.

Clean up after yourselves.

We need to have a
responsible, fun time, okay?

There's 72 islands here,
so bit of diving...

outside shark feeding times...

and there's some really
good snorkeling as well.

Yeah, the end's death,

so you might as well enjoy
the bit in-between, okay?

I'm not the type of captain
who just sits

in his wheelhouse
looking at his laptop.

I like my time with the crew.
It's a family.

If there's work to be done,
I'm there to do it.

I'm more of a big brother
than a captain.

It's team, team, team,
and that's all it's about.

The existing crew we have,

there's Xavier,
the first officer,

and then you've got Tim and
then you've got Bastien.

So, you got second engineer
and the chief engineer.

Let's get into it.

- All right, sounds good.
- Perfect, thank you.

So, do you guys wanna
get started on the beds?

Yeah.

So much to do.

So, do you wanna have
a chat at some point

about just how you work?

Yeah, whenever you're ready.

Yeah?

- Britt...
- ...tini, yeah.

...tini... do people
call you Britt, or no?

You can say Britt.
I do prefer Brittini.

I can? Okay.

Here's all these rags, Brittini.

Okay.

[laughing]

So, how do you want to do it?

My biggest pet peeve is,
like, telling me,

okay, 20 minutes, and
then you come back

and go, another 10 minutes.

Yeah.

Yes, I'm gonna try my best
to give you, like,

really accurate timings, but
so many times, guests are,

like, can we have dinner
at 8:30,

and then they don't
even show up until 9:00.

My relationship with
a chief stew,

if they're good at their job,

we'll have a good,
healthy relationship.

Otherwise, I just don't
want them around.

Do you wanna talk to
the primary about the dinner,

or do you want me to tell them?

I mean, I don't know that
we're gonna really tell them

what they're having for dinner,

because then we're
kind of giving them

the options to be like,
eh, you know?

You don't wanna
tell them at all?

Well, I'm gonna tell them
when we're serving them.

Oh *bleep*.

I would quite like to go to
the primary first and be like,

hey, I'm gonna do this
for dinner, that for dinner.

As long as we tell them
what's going on

and we don't let
them control us,

I think we'll be just fine.

On superyachts,
when you've got guests

that are paying a lot of money,
you need to be flexible.

Um...

It's just the last thing that
I wanna hear as a chief stew

is that you're a control freak.

I know sometimes
it's really tricky,

but as long as we've got
really open communication...

It's all time management.

We'll be a'ight.

- Okay.
- Probably.

Coming up...

[engine knocking]

Engineers, your bow
thruster broken?

This is a disaster.

Will there actually be any
yachting on this yacht trip?

I just wanna look
at the harnesses.

I've actually never washed
a boat with a harness.

Okay.

You were a deckhand on
your last boat as well?

Yeah, this is my first
time being bosun.

After talking to you guys
and looking through some CVs

and stuff like that,
I've got a good team.

If you do have any
issues, questions,

or you're pissed off
at someone, come to me.

Yeah.

And we'll just knot it out,
we'll just have a chat.

I've got enough experience
to know how to run this team,

I have led teams in
training new police officers,

lifeguarding and
training new lifeguards.

My life and career has pretty
much been shaped by structure,

and I believe
if you follow the rules,

you're going to
achieve good things.

Anything pretty much
goes through me, right?

Yeah.

So, there's another
wash locker in there.

All right, we'll do
a little stew meeting.

Jamie, do you know the rules
as far as crew using this stuff?

- I was gonna ask that.
- I don't know.

When the guests are on, we're
probably not allowed to use it.

- Well, yeah, no.
- Yeah.

Um, you probably,
if you guys meditate

or do yoga or anything
like that...

Yes, sir.

Wait, this is so exciting.

- Yeah, yeah.
- Shut the...

Oh, really?

Oh, my God,
this is so exciting.

- Yeah.
- It's crazy.

All right, the biggest
thing this season,

I just really want us
to all be friends,

because I've always
been, like,

best friends with
my chief stews.

It just makes you wanna
work really hard

because you don't wanna
let each other down.

My biggest thing as a chief
stew is don't have an ego,

lead by example.

Let's just start as friends
and carry it through, why not?

Tumi, I know that you've done
service on larger yachts,

so just because of that,

I would like to have you as
my second, if that's okay.

- Yeah.
- Are you happy with that?

- Yeah.
- Just amazing.

How are you guys
with decorating?

Because I ----ing hate it.
I ----ing hate it.

- I love it.
- Do you?

That's my thing.

This is the best team ever!

When I started yachting,
I actually walked down the dock,

and I hated dock-walking.

Asking for a job,
it's terrible.

So, I decided to start
my Instagram page

based off my skills, and
that page got me my first job.

Gotta do what you gotta
do to make it happen.

Thank you, girls,
you're awesome.

Thank you, you too.

All crew, that's provisions,

if we can all help
bring them on board?

Copy.

- Chef.
- How are you, mate?

- Well.
- Cool.

It's guest stuff, so just
in one of the guest areas.

All right.

Miso.
Pantry.

These are a little bit heavy.

- Ugh!
- Oh!

Oh!

- Are you okay?
- That's a little heavy.

Yeah.

That's all for now?

Oh, God...

Where was I?

Can you start looking through
all those cupboards on the side?

That's where all
the decorations are.

Wow.

You guys head up to the sundeck,
start vinegar-blading.

Okay, first impression...

who's the best-looking?

The captain is so hot.

Do you have a boyfriend?

I have a boyfriend.

Oh, okay, so you really
gonna get in trouble.

My boyfriend is from Poland.

His name is Maciek.

But I'm not, like,
this kind of girl that

I'm oh, I miss him
so much, he's the best.

Like, I wanna be fully focused
on what's going on here,

and just spread
the good energy around.

He's my soulmate.

I mean, how long have you
been dating him for, though?

Five months.

Not long.

You know, for now,
it's my soulmate.

Ah.

Well, everybody meditating,
you don't expect that.

Like it wigged me out.

How long have you
been meditating for?

You said a year?

Oh, my God.

So yeah, I learned
all this stuff.

I'm sorry you're going
through that right now.

Yeah.

I have done a lot of work
on myself the past year.

I lost my mom last year, and...

and my dad six months beforehand.

My mom completely
sacrificed everything for me,

and it's like a
love you can't...

you can't ever
replicate, you know?

Like, yeah...

How did you lose your mom?

Oh, man, maybe I'll talk
to you about it, like...

- Yeah.
- Later, I think.

Yeah.

It's a lot like
I can't handle it today.

Totally fine.

It's been such a dark period,

I've gotta get back
in the world right now.

I'm looking for people,

I'm looking to feel
that family feel again.

Like, I'm craving it.

You've made
a great dent in here.

Ah, I feel a little better.

As I get through it,

it's gonna look like you're
in a ----ing restaurant.

Good.

All crew, all crew,
can I have

Ryan, Jamie, and Aesha
to the crew mess, please?

Yeah, copy that.

- Get nice and close.
- Oh, mate.

Preference sheet.

Looks like fun.

Fun in, like, a really
difficult way, or fun in a...

Fun if we're the guests.

[laughing]

Charlie Gambino is an
American expat who works in tech

and currently resides in Sydney.

He'll be joined by a squad
of young

professional friends who
are self-professed foodies.

If you're calling
yourself a foodie

it probably means you're not.

"I write reviews on Yelp,
so I'm a foodie."

It's totally not true.

They all look
like young, trendy...

- Millennials.
- Yeah.

Night one, guests request
a toga party evening

that begins with
an elegant dinner.

To-ga, to-ga!

They wanna hit the water,
so we definitely could

give them the water sports
on the first day,

- with the jet-skis.
- Jet-skis, snorkels.

- Right-o.
- Cool, it's all happening.

Yeah, there's a lot, yep.

This is Kate.

Hi, this is Aesha from
motor yacht Thalassa.

I just want to order
some provisions,

Grecian-style, gold décor.

Sorry, can you please
help me to fold this

exactly the same way
as you did?

Okay.

- -
- Yeah.
- Thank you so much.

That's tight.

Beautiful, thank you.

- That's everything.
- That's it?

- Sweet.
- It's over for the day.

- We did well.
- I like to make it past day one.

Good work today, girls.

Jamie, can you come
to the bridge, please?

Copy, on the way.

Ah!

It was a good day, brother.

All right, Cap.

Come and check out
the tide charts with me.

Okay, cool.

The tides are gonna be
an issue this season.

We're gonna have to come
and go according

- to the high tide each charter.
- Yeah.

If we have to leave,
we'll leave,

because we don't wanna
be stuck by the tide.

In the Whitsundays,
where we are,

the tides aren't
always favorable,

and a lot of the marinas
in Australia haven't been built

for large superyachts.

Thalassa is 2.8 meters in depth,

and we have a
three-meter tide range,

so that's just over
a foot of clearance.

We have to time our entrance
and exit spot-on,

otherwise we're gonna
hit the bottom.

Let's just get
out of here by 2:00.

- Mm-hmm, all right.
- All right, good work.

- Thanks, Cap.
- Awesome.

Good night, see you
guys mañana, eh?

Big morning.

Okay, fire hose...

This morning, just get
some laundry going.

Make sure
the dishwasher's been run.

Then do, like,
a top-to-bottom vacuum.

Wipe all the bridge windows
first, and then dry everything.

We've gotta fill
up, like, the salt

and the peppers and the oils.

And if you just wanted to
start pulling for lunch...

Yeah.

Amazing, yeah.

Hey, guys, we have
provisions here.

Oh, flowers, yay!

Oh, these must be yours, right?

No, I got...
that's stuff for you.

Keep that on your side.

In case we wanna
stab each other,

we each have our own
set of knives to do it.

Oh, it might come the time?

[phone rings]

Oh, my gosh, hi, gorgeous!

- This is Brittini.
- What's your name?

Saskia, oh, my gosh,
what a beautiful name.

How about I give you
a call later?

Okay.

I love you, bye.

- How old is she?
- She's seven soon.

Haven't been able to see her
because of COVID for a year now.

Where is she?

In the Philippines.

My little girl, Saskia,
she's the funniest little bean.

She lives in the Philippines
with her mother

in the resort that we built.

Being away from her
hurts every day.

There's no words for how
much I love my daughter.

Everything's about her.

Is that kind of rough,
I can imagine?

Yeah, it's been...

it's been pretty
tough, actually.

- Thanks.
- Good job.

Let's start uncovering, guys.

Whew.

- Britney...
- Brittini.

You've been on
a 50-meter, right?

Mm, no.

Have you done anchor operations
and all that stuff?

I've been shown how to do
it many of times, but no.

But you know the
chain colors and all that?

Rub your ba*ls with grease?

Yeah.

It's a struggle to be a female
in a male-dominated industry,

but if I fully embrace
the feminine

that's naturally within me,
that's ----ing powerful.

We'll show you how to do it.

You'll come out of here a
bos-lady.

Yeah.

Okay, all crew, all crew,
let's start getting dressed now,

we need to be ready in
15 minutes, dressed...

15 minutes, dressed.

- -
- Copy.
- Game time.

Oh, my God.

I feel sexy.

We're doing this now.

It's awesome.

I love vacuuming.

That little sand tinkle?

Oh, gets me hard.

Okay, all crew,
meet me on the main deck aft

for guest arrival.

Looks pretty good.

Which table is it?

Mm, yeah.

Wow, he's a good captain.

He really has
his eye on everything.

We'd better do
a real good job.

Thank you.

You take this down.

If you can,
try and do it with...

- Okay.
- One hand.

- Yeah.
- Good God.

That's huge.

All right, here they come,
guys, here they come.

Damn.

Oh, oh, here we go,
here we go, here we go.

Damn.

- Good God.
- That's huge.

All right, here they come,
guys, here they come.

Let's get it.

Wow, wow, wow.

Hello, everybody.

- Hello!
- Welcome aboard.

Are you our captain?

- I'm Jason.
- Charlie.

Come aboard,
I'll help you, there.

Thank you very much.

Oh, yay!

- How are you?
- Hi, how are you?

- I'm Charlie.
- Aesha.

How are you?

- Oh, thank you very much.
- Of course!

Hello, fashion.
Hello, good looks.

And you have money?

[laughing]

Welcome aboard.

You're gonna have
a fantastic time.

Let Aesha show you around,

Let's sit down and
have lunch, relax.

We'll get going just
as lunch starts to wrap up.

- Sounds great.
- Cheers, guys.

Yay!

I'm gonna grab
all this luggage.

Let's rage.

Let's begin looking at the boat

where you're gonna
be hanging out.

This way.

Here we've got
the master suite, so...

Oh, this is where I'll be.

- Look at that shower, Charlie.
- I know!

Oh, God.

Okay, thanks, Cap.

This is the bridge deck aft.

- Whoa.
- Oh, my gosh.

Can this be turned
into a beer pong table?

Thank you.

All right, we'll
take 'em back up.

Good job.

See you guys later.

You need safety glasses.

Heh.

My style of cooking is take the
ingredients and let them shine.

There's one for each side
of the table.

We got a bunch of
Millennials on board.

All they want is
big food for big pictures,

a lot of likes on Instagram.

So, king crab, flown in all
the way from Alaska.

It's pretty barbaric.

This is definitely a showpiece.

So, this is the sundeck.

I'll be catching
some rays up here.

Can we have some more champagne?

Yeah.

Culver, Jamie.
Come to the foredeck.

Copy, on the way.

So, would you guys like
to rip into lunch?

- Yeah.
- Yeah, we're hungry.

That's a great idea.

I have a feeling
we're gonna be spending

a lot of time around this table.

- How are we looking?
- Five minutes.

Okay. Awesome. What...

What the *bleep*
do I serve those with?

I think they're gonna be
barbaric, like I usually am.

Um... All right.

So, this is Alaskan king crab.

What's on the other
plates, tiger prawns, oysters...

And mussels escabeche.

These crab legs do look
very good,

but last I checked,
five-star service

doesn't include having
to rip apart

an animal carcass
with their hands.

Tumi, don't bring stuff up
without tongs.

Copy.

But I don't wanna
step on any toes.

We're still gonna be friends,

because we're interior,
we're all one dream team.

So, we've got your king crab.

Is that thing still alive?

Chef was hoping
you'd get barbaric,

eat it with your hands
and whatever.

We might need a tutorial.

I need to get higher...
these legs are short.

We need a selfie stick.

Everybody photo the food.

So, you just rip it apart?

That's the only way to do it.

It's so labor-intensive.

I can't do it.

So, when I release,
take number two off.

So, that's number one line,
number two line, number three.

- Okay.
- We'll get going now.

I'm gonna have Culver
on the bow,

Brittini and myself on the aft,

Right-o.

- It's so good.
- So good.

Yeah.

No, don't worry about it.

That felt very primal,
just, like, ripping...

I could break the claw.

You got it.

She's still working.

- Oh!
- Oh!

Opa!

They happy?

Yes, absolutely love it.

Cool.

I knew it.
That's how it's done.

- I told you.
- Yeah.

It's gonna be a breeze.

I've gotta give the calls.

You've never done calls?

- Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- Oh.

- I'm just a little nervous.
- I know.

It goes by meters,
which is awesome.

Could we put in some
c*ck requests for you?

Of course!

Does anyone else
want a piña colada?

I wouldn't say no.

Magda and Tumi, can you
please get lunch cleared?

I'm just starting
to make some c*ck.

- -
- Copy that.
- Copy.

Checking bow thruster.

All clear, Cap.

[engine knocking]

Well, this doesn't suck.

Engineers, engineers, is
there a bow thruster broken?

Something happened.

A bow thruster issue?

- That's no good.
- Is that like a big issue?

Yeah.

I cannot wait to
just get out there.

I'm excited for the jet-skiing.

Gonna be a good trip.

Oh, no.

First charter, there's
enough stress already.

Now I find out there's
a hydraulic leak.

I've got tide issues,

I've gotta get outta
this marina very soon,

and now I've got
no bow thruster.

This is a disaster.

Deck crew, deck crew,
stand down.

Copy, standing down.

Why?

Are you ----ing kidding me?

Ben, get back on board.

Copy.

We've got issues.

Yeah, can we get a large fry
and a bow thruster, please?

Oh, my God, here we go.

Not a good start.

Bow thrusters are essential
on a vessel that big,

and that's been
proven firsthand.

I've had a vessel
coming into Cannes,

both engines were stuck ahead,

so the vessel propelled
forward at speed.

This Saturday, dinner rush
was interrupted

by an unexpected guest as

the 46-meter superyacht
made a dramatic entrance.

We shut down all engines,
dropped an anchor,

and thank God we selected
a nice spot where

there was no personnel.

I had an option to crash
into a restaurant

or take out 10 runabouts.

I used my bow thruster to come
over, I picked the runabouts.

Whew.

Come on.
We need to fix that.

I can't be stuck in the marina.

It's day one of the charter.
We're going.

Let's go.

*bleep*

Coming up...

I'll go with you
if you wanna go.

- You wanna go?
- Yeah!

I don't know if Benny's here
on a holiday or here to work.

Jamie, Jamie.

- Woohoohoo!
- Holy sh--!

Not a good start.

And they're paying
probably about 80 grand...

Yeah.

- To charter this for three days
- For three days, yeah.

And yet, here we are.

Hey, guys,
there's work to be done.

Yeah.

Find something to do,
dishes, washing...

- Yeah.
- Okay.

- Sounds good.
- There's a thousand jobs to do.

- Yeah.
- Let's crack on with it.

I've got your
piña coladas for you.

Thank you so, so much,
this is incredible.

Oh, this seems
a little more intense.

- Yeah, of course.
- Okay?

- I'll bring you some.
- Thank you.

If you want, I can just
put it all together here.

- Okay.
- I'll go get another tray.

Thank you so much.

On my previous boat,
I spent six months.

But such a small boat,
it was only 27 meters.

So, it was very chill.

With the wine glasses,
we're not allowed to carry them.

- Mm-hmm?
- So, we're gonna lay them.

Because when you bring them up
you can hear them

- clinking against each other.
- Yeah, sure.

On this boat,
I still have to learn it.

Okay, do you want me
to take the champagne glasses?

Yeah.

Magda, Magda, Magda!

Stop being so clumsy!

Ah.

*bleep*

Where are the guests?

They're down, getting changed.

Okay. We're gonna be
delayed for a little bit.

Options are not many...
just enjoy the boat.

- Get in the Jacuzzi.
- Get the Jacuzzi...

- Enjoy the sun.
- That's a fantastic idea.

Yeah.

It puts a lot of pressure
on the interior

when we have mechanical issues,

because the guests can't
*bleep* off into the water.

There you go.

I'll take an
espresso martini, too.

I'll get you one.

And that's all we want them
to do... bugger off.

Can I request another
piña colada from you?

Yes, you definitely can.

Oh, gosh.

Hey, Airlie Beach doesn't
wanna let you go, mate.

We had a hydraulic leak.

The engineers are
looking for it now.

Do we know how
long it will be?

- I can't. Apologies.
- Okay.

We can put two jet-skis
in the water.

- Send in the jet-skis.
- Done.

Send 'em.

So, there's a hydraulic issue.

We're gonna be
a little bit delayed.

Okay.

But you're still on a yacht
and you're still gonna have fun.

How important are hydraulics?

- Do we need 'em?
- Do we need 'em?

All deck crew,
let's get up to the foredeck,

unstrap these jet-skis,
get 'em in the water.

Copy, Captain, on the way up.

Mm.

I do wanna, like,
move a little bit.

Will there actually be any
yachting on this yacht trip?

You'd be familiar with
this, wouldn't you, Culver?

Yeah. That bungee just
holds them in place?

That's right, and the
crane will pull that up.

- Strap off, Cap.
- You all right?

- All right, clear.
- Stand clear.

Lifejackets, fuel, let's
just get 'em off the boat now

and have as much fun
as they can.

Go, go, go.

We should take this time
and do TikToks.

- Yeah.
- I have a bunch of dances.

Are the jackets,
like, in a bag, or...

It goes up and out, and
then she, like, fans.

Step, step,

and right away it's, like,
a booby and close.

Yeah, that's what we're
forgetting.

Boobie...
it's boobies...

Let's stay here all day.

Ah!

God damn it!

Look, it happened again to me.

Don't cut yourself, please.

Man, I know.

Smell you later!

I cannot do this!

Sorry it's been such
a sh---show.

It's the first day,
it's always like that.

Yeah.

Yo!

Woo!

- Okay, I'm getting on.
- Yeah.

I'll go with you,
if you wanna go.

- Do you wanna go?
- Yeah!

- Okay.
- I wanna go for a little ride.

[laughs]

- Press this thing?
- Thank you very much.

Jamie, leave that fender there.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah, yeah.

- Train early.
- I will. Thanks, Cap.

This is Jamie's
first time as bosun.

He's moving into
a leadership role.

He needs to step back
and delegate to his team

and be more of a manager now.

Ben, Jamie.

- Woohoohoo!
- Holy sh--!

- Yeah!
- Woo!

Brittini, Jamie.

Can you meet me
in the bow, please?

Yeah, copy that,
I'm on my way.

Here's a towel, too,
if you need one

- Thank you.
- Yeah, no problem at all.

Brittini, I'm gonna take
you one by one...

anything that you might
see like this,

like what could we do here,
being observant...

- Yeah.
- Things like that.

Hello!

Are you behind us?

I've got snacks.

Benny, Benny, Jamie.

Benny, you wouldn't
have your radio and earpiece,

by any chance?

Woo!

- Nailed it!
- Nailed it!

Nope, okay.

I don't know if Benny's here
on a holiday or here to work.

You can't just do what
you want, when you want.

I'm gonna have to keep
an eye on that one.

- Culver?
- Yeah.

Come take a little walk
with me for a minute.

I've been asked to have a little
bit of a chat to all of you.

Okay.

I want you guys to just be
on the ball a bit more,

you know what I mean?

- Ah!
- Ah!

You guys are all talking
and this and that,

and I'm running around
just doing stuff.

Yeah.

As the bosun, I'm the punching
bag for the captain

and for everyone,

and the captain just
lays the punches into me.

I take the punches in the ribs,

I'm all bruised and battered,

and I come down to the crew.

But I don't want the uppercuts
from the captain, not yet.

Yes!

Woohoohoo!

Oh, God.

Thalassa, you nymph Goddess!

Coming up...

I need you guys to
step up a little bit.

I've been on the boat
for, like, 24 hours.

Gimme a break.

I'm gonna have to pull
out the drill sergeant.

Hey, for dinner,
if we're still here...

Yeah.

We gotta make it,
like, amazing.

Yeah.

*bleep* I feel bad for
the guests, man.

I really do know
it's frustrating.

I'm... I'm, like,

Oh, we haven't left yet,
and I just want

all the guests to,
like, have fun.

Yeah.

There's only so much that
I can do to compensate

for a bloody 50-meter
superyacht being paralyzed.

Do we have our
outfits confirmed?

Yes, I've got togas
for everyone.

- Okay, work it out.
- ASAP.

Perfect.

Ah.

Are you eating tuna fish
for dinner?

Yeah.

Really?

Seriously, he's unbelievable.

Love it.

That looks like cat food, dude.

It's pretty good.

Ah!

You guys gonna go
and get ready?

Yeah.

Awesome, I've left some
togas on your bed,

and some accessories at
the end of the hallway.

Thank you.

It's mandatory, not optional.

Okay, okay.

So make yourself
all Grecian.

Stay.

Yes.

I am sweating t*ts.

The ivy around the pillars!

I love that!

Yay!

Cheffy, what do you
need from me?

I need whatever
grassy sh-- and...

- Oh, yeah.
- Stones we can put in here.

When the sh--'s not going
right on charter,

chef's gotta save it.

Wow.

Food is totally like sex.

It's, you know...
if it's good, it's good.

So if there's some sh--
going on around you,

it's gonna make
everything better.

We did have it.

It's gone.

Okay, team, we're ready.

I think dinner is awaiting.

- How we looking?
- They just headed up.

All right, I'm gonna plate.

Ready for some din-dins?

We are ready.

Check this out!

This is a dinner fit for us.

Charlie the great.

Oh, my God,
that looks amazing.

Here you go, darling.

Thank you.

Magda, Magda, if you're
able to start turn-downs,

- that would be great.
- Copy.

I literally just had, like,
10 seconds of sleep just then.

All right, let's go,
let's go, let's go.

This is the most stunning
dinner setup I've ever seen.

There's pearls.

We've got a little tasting
up here, a little sushi,

and we have a scallop done
with a yuzu vinaigrette,

finished with that
bright blue caviar.

Enjoy.

Thank you so much, Chef.

- These pearls look edible.
- Wait, edible?

The pearls on the plate
are not edible, so enjoy.

Thank you.

How is it all?

Wow.

This is great.

Unbelievable.

Wow, it's amazing.

- Delicious.
- Amazing.

Has anyone here never
had uni before?

- I haven't.
- Okay.

It is actually the gonads
of the sea urchin.

- Mm-hmm?
- Oh!

Oh, hell, no, I'm sorry, bro.

But the flavor is incredible.

You lost me here.

All I can think about
is reproductive organs.

[laughing]

Oh, God.

What's going on, Magdalena?

Never-ending story.

Your hair's different,
it's a new style.

I feel more myself like that.

Yeah, yeah.

Yeah, wait,
I need to focus, sorry.

Magda, Magda, can you please
come up to the galley?

Copy, coming.

Okay, so we're having beef
and broccoli, Tomahawk-style.

Tomahawk-style.

We've got a bunch
of Millennials,

self-proclaimed foodies, so we
have dry-aged Tomahawk rib-eyes.

Wow.

I was the executive chef
of STK steakhouse.

I love steak, I love red meat.

Every restaurant that's
cool to be seen at,

they're all "Get the Tomahawk."

It's the crème
de la crème of steak.

Wow.

Tonight's main course, beef
and broccoli, Tomahawk-style.

We got a little
scalloped potatoes.

- Ooh!
- And mac and cheese.

Ooh, we love a mac and cheese.

This mac and cheese is not
from a box, that is not Kraft.

Incredible steak.

- This steak is so good.
- Unbelievable.

This is the best steak
I've ever had.

That is so yum.

- What's this here?
- That's just whipped cream.

I lost too much weight today,
where's the spoon?

Is there a spoon?

Oh, my God.

That's delicious,
thank you so much.

Ben, Ben, Jamie.

No more ----ing around.

Yo, dawg, what up?

What do you need me to do now?

- While we've got some time...
- Yeah.

Have a chat.

Okay...
[engineer speaking over radio]

Checking bow thruster.

Captain had spoken
to me earlier today.

The bow was an absolute mess.

Captain saw me just tidying
up a bunch of stuff, and...

Yeah.

He's just like,
"You shouldn't be doing that,

it needs to be the other guys."

I'm running around just
picking this sh-- up, like,

I don't want to have to,
if I don't have to.

But captain's riding
me a little.

Yeah.

I need you guys to
step up a little bit.

Hang... hang on...
what's your name again?

I don't know if he's got
a background in military

or something,
but I've been on the boat

for like, what, 24 hours?

I don't even know where
the toilet paper's kept.

Gimme a break.

Gonna have to pull out
the drill sergeant.

I do not wanna have
to pull out that guy.

Coming up...

Quick, guys,
take the lines off.

We're gonna have that much
water under our keel.

If anything goes wrong,
the season's finished.

Let's go, mate, like, right now.

Right now, go, dude.

This is stressful.

---ing crazy.

Being observant is
the biggest thing.

Yeah.

I need you guys to
step up a little bit

and have my back a little bit.

If it continues,

I'm gonna get
another talking-to.

Yep.

And I'm gonna pass it
back down to you guys.

I like to have a bit
of fun on deck,

I like to be silly, but I like
to be silly on my own terms.

I've just been through
some sh-- so honestly,

I'm here to have a good time.

It's a hierarchy, you know,
and I don't like hierarchies.

It's just the way it is.

- All good.
- Cheers, bro.

Thanks, bro.

Give it a go, I suppose.

I will let you
know if it's good now.

Hard to starboard,
hard to starboard.

Hell, yeah. Amen.

Yes, Thalassa!

We have a go.

Finally.

I've been staring
at this marina entrance

for the last eight hours.

The engineers have told me
the problem's fixed.

If we don't get off the dock by
7:30, we're not going anywhere.

We're gonna have that
much water under our keel.

We've got new crew,

we've got a boat
that's just malfunctioned,

I've got tight navigation
in and out of the entrance,

and it's nighttime.

If anything goes wrong,
the season's finished,

But if it goes right,
we've saved the charter.

I'm gonna go for it.

Okay, we're gonna get going.

- We're gonna get going.
- Copy, standing by.

Hey, Benny, this guy's
gonna help us with the lines.

You just do the bow.

Jason definitely wants this
first charter to be a success.

I don't even think there's
a lot of captains out there

that would even try
to pull this off

at such a low tide
at this time of night.

I wouldn't take that risk.

We could end up
damaging the rudder,

the props, bow thrusters,

and we could be stuck on
the way out of the marina.

Okay, you can take
the number one line off.

Yeah...
take number one off.

- All right.
- Mate, under this line.

- Bring it up?
- Yeah.

No, guys, Jamie, I didn't
say number three line off.

Let's just take it
in sequence, as I say.

Bow line is off.

Jamie, bring it in now.

All right.

You can take number two off.

Quick, guys,
take the lines off...

stern's taken all
their lines off already.

Yeah, we're ready to leave.

I'm gonna go in the tender.

Ben, you got someone else
there to give you a hand?

Appreciate it, mate.

Let's go, mate,
like, right now.

Right now, go, dude.

You're a legend, brother.

All lines off.

We are good to go.

My port is gonna go back
to that.

Yeah, copy, you've got 60 meters
from starboard quarter.

Oh, wait, we're moving...
we're moving!

We're going!

Jamie, keep calling, mate.

Yeah, we've got about
20 meters from the yacht.

I'm gonna swing.

Tell me when I'm clear
on the bow there.

Uh, I'd go another
five meters, Cap.

Talk to me, James,
clear to swing?

You're all clear to swing here.

Okay, I'm going
to starboard wing station.

Copy.

---ing sh--, that's tight.

It's ----ing crazy.

Okay, now it's all about
the rocks on the port side.

This is stressful.

You've got 35 meters
from the rocks.

Okay, thank you.

Thirty meters midships,

port side, to the
rocks, closing.

I'm gonna swing soon.

Am I clear to swing here?

What'd he just say?

Cap, could you repeat that?

I'm gonna swing to port, mate.

Captain, you've got
five meters, closing,

port side midships to the rocks.

*bleep*'s sakes.
