Alma/Yolette: [Giggle]

Junior: Here you go, Alma.

Alma: Hmmm...

I've got it!

[rapping] ♪ We're at Kids' Club and what do I see? ♪

♪ Lucas over there, yeah he's painting a tree! ♪

Junior: Me next!

[rapping] ♪ We've got games and sports and your choice of toy ♪

♪ You can bust a move with Junior the b-boy! ♪

Alma: Break it down!

Yolette: Go, Junior!

Junior: Here Yolette, you try.

Yolette: Hmm, what should I rap about?

There are just too many great choices.

[rapping] ♪ I could rap about the doors, or the floors. ♪

♪ The kids of all ages. ♪

♪ Books with lots of pages. ♪

♪ Or right here where the stage is. ♪

Junior: You did it! You rapped!

Yolette: I did? Oh yeahhh, I did!

Back to you, Alma.

Alma: [rapping] ♪ Paint, pens, paper by the stacks... ♪

♪ Apples, pears and lots and lots of snacks... ♪

♪ Mmm chips, pretzels, cheeseburgers, pancakes... ♪

Yolette: Uh, Alma... are you hungry?

Alma: I guess all that rapping has made me really hungry.

Remy: [rapping] ♪ I've gotta plan that ya'll will like...

It's snack time now so drop that mic! ♪

Rafia: Ooh I'm hungry! Kids: [cheering]

Alma: Ahhh! Much better.

Yolette: Hey, everyone.

My dad packed me some extra Tablèt Kokoye to share.

Kids: Oooh, wow!

Lucas: I've never seen that before.

Alma: What's it taste like?

Yolette: Sweet and coconutty! Want some?

Aaron: Ooo I do!

Lucas: Me too!

Thank you.

Aaron: Mmm, that was yummy!

Lucas: Mmm, I really like it. Glad I tried it.

Junior: I want a piece!

Rafia: Me too.

Junior: Mmm!

Alma: [Whisper] Do you like it?

Junior: Mmmhmm!

Alma: Okay, I'll try it.

Can I have a piece please?

Yolette: Sure!

Rafia: It's so good.

Alma: Mmm, dee-licious!

Yolette: It's my favorite treat.

Alma: My favorite treat is my mami's chocolate chip cookies.

They're sooo good. You gotta try them.

Yolette: Mmm I'd love to.

Alma: Talking about snacks is making me hungry again.

Hey! Wait a minute...

What if we all brought our favorite treats to Kids' Club?

Rafia: Yeah, yeah, yeah!

And we can share our food with each other!

Kids: Oh ya! Genius! Great idea!

Remy: That's what I'm talking about.

How about at the next Kids' Club we'll do a Potluck Snack Time!

Kids: Oh yeah! Yes! Great idea! Sweet!

Alma: This is gonna be soooo good.

Remy: Here ya go, it's all yours, Aaron.

Aaron: Thanks, Remy!

Alma: Be right back.

Remy: Did you wanna make a sign for your snack, Lucas?

Lucas: Nah, my dad's parmesan popcorn speaks for itself.

Ahhh, so cheesy, so good.

Remy: Ha ha, right on. Show me what you got!

Rafia: World's greatest treats!

Alma: Oh yeah! Junior: Woo hoo!

Lucas: Parmesan popcorn!

Aaron: Can we start yet?

Alma: Yeah, I'm ready to snack!

Rafia: Me too! Yolette: Me three! Junior: Hungry!

Remy: Then ready...

Rafia: Snack time! Kids: [Cheer]

Aaron: Mmm, that's good.

Mmm mmm!

Rafia: Mmm, I like it!

Mmm!

Lucas: Wow!

Yolette: Yum!

Alma: Mmm. Qué rico.

Rafia: My mom makes the World's Greatest Moong Pakon Pitha!

Yolette: I like it.

No. I love it.

Alma: Hmm, what snack should I try next?

Hmm...

What'd ya bring, Aaron?

Aaron: It's my family's famous Diné corn cakes!

It's a big thing on the Navajo Nation.

Alma: Ooh, I love corn!

Uh...

Why are they blue? Isn't corn yellow?

Aaron: It's ‘cause they're made with blue corn!

Alma: Blue corn? I've never seen that before.

Hmm.

Aaron: So you gonna try it?

Alma: Sure!

I like corn and I love the color blue.

But I've never had blue corn before...

Here we go!

Hmm...

Aaron: So... whatcha think?

Alma: Whoa! Crunchy and way way wayyy sa-weet!

Aaron: They're sweet ‘cause I added maple syrup to them.

They usually don't have that.

[Whisper] That's a family secret.

Alma: Mmm, the second bite is even better! They're ah-may-zing!

Aaron: I love that you love them!

And you're the first person to try ‘em.

No one's really come over here yet.

Alma: Huh. Maybe it's ‘cause your table's so far away.

Aaron: Genius! We could move my table closer!

Then everyone will try my blue corn cakes for sure.

Alma: Totally!

Am I good or what?

Aaron: I have a good feeling about this.

Alma: Oh get ready! Junior loves blue things!

Aaron: Blue corn cakes?

Junior: They're... blue?

Alma: Yeah, your favorite color!

Wanna try?

Junior: It is my favorite color but, no thanks.

Aaron: [Sigh] Bummer.

Lucas: Hey Junior, parmesan cheese popcorn?

Junior: Uhh...

No thanks.

I like parmesan on my spaghetti, but not on my popcorn.

Alma: No one's trying your snack either?

Lucas: Nope. I'm the only one eating my popcorn.

Aaron: I don't get it. Why won't anyone try our snacks?

They do not know what they're missing out on.

Lucas: I'll try yours.

Wow! Crunchy, and delicious!

Aaron: Right?!

So you gonna try it?

Alma: Yes please.

Alma/Aaron: Mmmm!

Aaron: Lucas! This is the cheesiest popcorn I've ever had!

Alma: Uh-huh! It's sooo good!

Lucas: Right? I mean it's cheese. And popcorn!

Alma: Mhmm!

Aaron: I know you don't see a lot of blue food.

But I think our friends would like these too if they tried them.

Lucas: Totally, our snacks are delicious!

Alma: So what should we do?

Rafia: Mmm! Delicious, yum!

Aaron: I got it! If the people aren't coming to the food, let's bring the food to the people!

Lucas: Great idea! Alma: Yeah!

Alma: Lezz go!

Aaron: Blue corn cakes! Lucas: Parmesan popcorn!

Lucas: Parmesan cheese popcorn?

Alma: It's blue, it's corn, and it's delicious!

Yolette: Mmmm...

Aaron: Diné blue corn cake? It's a family specialty.

Alma: Crunchy and the maple syrup makes them sa-weet.

Remy: Ooh, I'll take one.

Mmm, ooh! Yummy!

Aaron: So you gonna try it?

Yolette: No, thank you.

The only blue food I've ever had is blueberries, and I don't like those.

Lucas: How ‘bout some popcorn with parmesan cheese?

It's the cheesiest.

Yolette: Sorry, I don't like the smell of parmesan cheese.

Aaron: It's official, no one wants our snacks.

Alma: Hmm...

There must be something else we can do to get everyone to try Aaron and Lucas's snacks.

I gotta think about this...

I wonder how the other kids would feel if no one tried their snacks...

I don't think they would feel happy.

Aaron: That was yummy!

Lucas: I really like it. Glad I tried it.

Alma: I think if everyone tried Aaron and Lucas's foods, they might like them.

I did.

Remy: We'll do a Potluck Snack Time!

Rafia: And we can share our food with each other!

Kids: Oh ya! Genius! Great idea!

Alma: And we all said we'd share each other's food, so...

it's only fair that we do.

Oh!

I know what to do.

Wait! Stop packing!

I have one more idea to get everyone to try your snacks.

C'mon!

Lucas: I'm always up for an Alma idea.

Aaron: Me too.

Lucas, grab your popcorn and let's go!

Alma: Hey, Kids' Club!

[rapping] ♪ Listen up, everybody, I'm here to rhyme. ♪

♪ About Kid's Club Potluck Snack Time. ♪

Lucas: [rapping] ♪ We came to share and eat yummy snacks ♪

♪ You shared with us, and we wanna share back! ♪

Aaron: [rapping] ♪ We got corn that's popped and corn that's blue. ♪

Yolette: Oooh!

Rafia: Oh, I'll try it! Junior: Let's go! Yolette: Me too!

Junior: Woah! Parmesan on popcorn is as good as it is on spaghetti!

Yolette: Mmm! Dee-licious!

My new favorite blue food!

Rafia: Same! Where have they been all my life.

Aaron: They've been around for hundreds of years.

My family's had a lot of time to make ‘em great.

My dad learned how to make ‘em from my grandma.

Rafia: Cool, Aaron.

Lucas: Bet they're glad they tried it.

Aaron: Mmhmm. Definitely.

Alma: I love corn,

and now I know I love it when it's blue too!

Alma: "To Tell or Not to Tell"

Kids: Roar! Roar Roar! [Tuba playing] ♪

Alma: Stomp! Ra-roar rar-roar!

Are we good or what?

Emi: Roar!

I wanna keep dancing like a dino!

[Dinosaur voice] More music, please.

Eddie: I told my mom I'd practice for an hour. So more music, comin' up!

Beto: Nice! Alma: Sa-weet!

Junior: [Dinosaur voice] Roarrr! Who wants popcorn?

Eddie: No thanks! Alma: I do!

Emi: No thank you. We're not supposed to have any more snacks before dinner.

Beto: Yeah, we had pretzels before we got here.

Alma: Oh, okay.

Eddie: You dinos ready to dance?

Alma: Yep! Beto: [Dinosaur voice] Totally!

♪[Tuba playing] Kids: [Roaring]

Beto/Junior: Roar! Nom nom nom!

Beto: Roar!

Alma: Huh? Where'd Emi go?

Beto/Junior: Roar! Nom nom nom!

Emi: Is this your scooter?

Alma: Yep. It's way way wayyy fast.

Emi: Aaawwwesome...

Can I ride it?

Alma: Sure! But you're gonna need a...

Mrs. Martinez: Mmm Mmm!

You can't ride a scooter without a helmet.

Alma: That's what I was gonna say.

Mrs. Martinez: You know our rule, Emi. And I don't want you getting hurt.

Emi: Oooo-kayyy.

Tía Gloria: I could use another cup. Anyone else?

Mrs. Martinez: Oye oye oye si por favor! Mami: You said it.

Mami: Heading inside, come and get us if you need anything.

Emi: [Sigh]

Alma: She really wants to ride it.

Hey, I know, you can wear my helmet!

Emi: Really?! Yes!

Eh, eh, eh, eh!

♪[Tuba playing] [Beto and Junior roaring in the background]

Alma: Now you're ready to ride...

...Or not.

Emi: Awwww.

Alma: I got it!

Alma: Junior! Can we borrow your helmet?

Junior: Mmhmm! It's in the car!

Alma: Thanks!

Buuuut the car's not here. Papi's using it to run some errands.

Sorry, Emi.

Emi: It's okay! I'll just stand on the scooter for a second.

Alma: I don't think that's a good idea.

Hey, Emi, you know what else we could do?

Play hopscotch!

Oh ya! Sa-weet, Yay, woo hoo!

Alma: Your turn.

Emi: Yay!

[Giggle]

Eh, woo, yeah!

♪[Tuba playing] ♪ Beto: Boom, boom, boom!

Alma: Hey, wanna play hopscotch with us?

Junior: Mmm, no thanks. All the dancing and popcorn made me thirsty.

Beto: I could use a break too.

Alma: Okay.

Eddie?

Eddie: Can't right now. I've almost got this next part figured out.

♪[Tuba playing] ♪

Alma: Okay.

Emi?

She shouldn't be doing that without a helmet.

Hey, Emi, don't cha wanna keep playing hopscotch?

I have a new move to show you!

Emi: Oo! Sure! But after I do this.

Alma: Wait!

Your mom said you can't ride without a helmet.

Emi: I'm not gonna ride it. I'm just gonna pretend to ride it.

Alma: Oof. I don't think Emi's mom would want her to do that.

Umm... uhhh...Oh!

Emi! Let's pretend to be the Two Almas!

Emi: [Gasp] For real? Two Almas!

Sa-weet!

Alma: [Sigh]

Let's play “What would Alma Do?” You first.

Emi: Okay!

Hmm... Alma would...

bust a move!

Alma/Emi: Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah!

Emi: Alma would... do a jump spin!

Alma would say, ‘That's way way wayyy sa-weet!'

Alma/Emi: That's way way wayyy sa-weet!

[Giggle]

Alma: Think she forgot all about my scooter.

Emi: And Alma would...

Go for a ride on her ah-may-zing scooter!

Alma: Maybe not.

Aaaactually... it's my scooter's nap time.

And she gets really cranky if she doesn't get her nap. Sooo...

We should let her sleep in here.

Am I good or what?

Emi: Annnnnd naptime's over!

Alma: Wha!? How? Wha? Ehh?

Uhhh...

Emi: It's okay. I'm gonna ride it around there, just once.

I'll be suuuuper quick.

Alma: I've tried everything.

And Emi still wants to ride my scooter.

[Sigh] There's only one thing left to do...

I've gotta tell her mom...

Tía Gloria: [Chuckle] Mami: I know, every time.

Tía Gloria/ Mrs. Martinez: [Chuckle]

Mrs. Martinez: Ay yay yay!

Alma: Umm, disculpe, Mrs. Martinez...

Mrs. Martinez: ¿Sí?

Alma: [Sigh] You know how you told Emi not to ride the scooter without a helmet?

Well, she's about to ride it anyway.

Mrs. Martinez: Mmm. Gracias, Alma.

Mrs. Martinez: Emilia Ana Martinez.

No señorita.

Emi: Uhmmm..

Mrs. Martinez: Didn't I say not to ride that scooter without a helmet?

Emi: But I...

Mrs. Martinez: Mmmm.

Emi: [Sigh] Ooo-kayyyy...

Hmmph!

Alma: Whoa. Emi is not happy with me. [Sigh]

Mrs. Martinez: Thank you for letting me know about Emi.

I know it was hard, but she could've gotten really hurt.

Mami: That's my girl.

Tía Gloria: Good lookin' out, Almita.

Alma: I guess I did do the right thing.

I know what will cheer Emi up.

Hey, Emi. How about some more...

Dancing Dinos! Hit it, Eddie!

Huh? Where'd Eddie go?

Wait a minute, didn't he tell Tía Gloria he'd practice his tuba?

Maybe Junior and Beto know where he is.

Hold up. Beto's snacking!

I thought he wasn't allowed.

[Gasp] And Eddie isn't practicing!

They're both breaking the rules.

I gotta tell their moms.

Junior: Hi, Alma! Beto: Want a apple?

Alma: No, thank you.

Hang on, I should tell on Beto and Eddie, riiight?

Yep. I have to.

Disculpe, Mrs. Martinez.

Mrs. Martinez: Si.

Alma: Beto's eating apple slices, even though he isn't allowed to have any more snacks before dinner.

And Eddie isn't practicing his tuba like he told Tía Gloria he would.

Eddie: Alma!

I just needed to use the bathroom!

Beto: And my mom said I could have these!

Alma: Uhhhh.

Mrs. Martinez: Beto's right. He's allowed to snack on fruit as much as he wants.

Tía Gloria: And Eddie can take breaks if he needs to.

Alma: Ooohhhh...

Eddie: Not cool, Alma. Not cool.

Alma: Eep. I thought I was doing the right thing

by telling on Eddie and Beto,

but maybe not?

I gotta think about this...

Mrs. Martinez: You can't ride a scooter without a helmet.

You know our rule, Emi.

Emi: I'll just stand on the scooter for a second!

I'll be suuuuper quick.

Alma: I didn't want to tell on Emi.

But I really didn't want her to get hurt either!

Mrs. Martinez: Thank you for letting me know about Emi.

Mami: That's my girl.

Tía Gloria: Good lookin' out, Almita.

Alma: The moms were so happy with me when I told on Emi.

And that made me feel good.

Eddie: I just needed to use the bathroom!

Beto: And my mom said I could have these!

Alma: Eddie and Beto weren't doing things that could hurt them.

And it turns out they weren't breaking any rules.

Ohhh, I see what I did.

And I know what to do.

I made a mistake. I shouldn't have told on Beto and Eddie.

And that makes me feel all... blech.

Mami: Aww, mija. Sounds like you're feeling embarrassed?

Alma: Mhm.

Mami: It's okay. It happens. And they'll understand.

Alma: Then I'm gonna go talk to them.

Mami: That's my Almita.

Alma: But first...

Mrs. Martinez, I have an idea.

Mrs. Martinez: Mmm?

[Alma whispers to Mrs. Martinez]

Junior: Roar, roar, roar!

Alma: [Sigh]

Eddie, Beto, I'm sorry.

I should've talked to you instead of telling on you.

Beto: Mmm I get it.

Eddie: Yeah, no worries, Alma.

Alma: Phew!

Hey, Emi.

I'm sorry I told on you.

I didn't want to get you in trouble.

Emi: Hmph!

Alma: But I reaaally didn't want you to get hurt.

Emi: [Sigh] I know. It's okay, Alma.

Alma: So, I asked your mom to bring you something...

Mrs. Martinez: Emilia Ana Martinez...

Mrs. Martinez: You're going to need this if you still want to ride that scooter.

Emi: My helmet! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!

Emi: Yay!

Alma: Hit it, Eddie!

Emi: Woooooo! [Giggle]
