Xavier: Today, we're going to meet one of the best

baseball players ever!

and became a hero to people at home

Yadina: Brad, are you okay?

But still thirsty.

None of that water stayed in my mouth!

Xavier: Oooh! That fountain's been broken for a week.

I thought you knew.

Yadina: [off screen] He knows now!

C'mon, Brad, we can get you some water in the kitchen.

Brad: But it's so hot out!

A lot of people are going to be thirsty.

What if they use the fountain and get sprayed, too?

Xavier: Yeah, that's a problem alright.

But, we don't know how to fix a fountain.

So, what can we do?

Yadina: Guess the Secret Museum has someone

it wants us to meet.

We're getting something!

[computer whirring]

That's who we're going to meet!

Brad: But why are we going to meet a baseball player

from years ago?

I'm just thirsty.

Xavier: I don't know why the Secret Museum wants us

to meet Roberto Clemente,

BUT...

Trio: Wow!

Brad: Send that ball to Mars!

Miguel: Wow!

Xavier: Oh no! The fence is broken,

he's going to run right into it!

Roberto: [gasps]

[calling] Miguel!...Look out!

Roberto: This fence looks so bad.

Miguel: Well, what can we do? We can't fix it.

with the broken water fountain at the museum.

Miguel: Let's get back to practicing.

Roberto: Mm-mm! It should be fixed NOW!

I have to do something!

Yadina: Like what?

Roberto: I don't know yet.

But when I see a problem,

I try to help however I can.

I can't fix the fence myself--

[gasps]...but I can tell the principal!

Brad: Aahh... Do we have to run?

[out of breath] Phew! Ah! Oh!

I think I'm getting faster. Oooh!

Where's Roberto?

Roberto: I just talked to the Principal.

He says the school

doesn't have enough money

to fix the fence.

Yadina: Is that why no one has fixed our water fountain?

There's no money?

Xavier: I don't know, Yadina.

But it doesn't seem like there's anything we can do

about either problem.

Sorry, Roberto.

Roberto: Ugh! I'm not giving up!

If the school needs money,

then I'll collect some.

Yadina: You're doing it yourself?

Roberto: Like I said: when I see a problem,

I try to help however I can.

I make a few pennies delivering sandwiches

to my father's work,

so I'll go first.

Brad: Look, it's the upside down cap.

Xavier: You're right!

Roberto: We'll need more than a penny

to fix that fence.

Yadina: Alright, Roberto!

Xavier: Whoa! Roberto is going to have

an inside-the-park grand slam!

Yadina: Comon Roberto, wohoo!

Brad: Woohoo!

Miguel: [gasps]

Roberto: Whoa! Where did he get that arm?

Roberto's Mami: [off screen] [laughs] It wasn't Miguel.

Roberto: [gasps] Mami!

Roberto's Mami: No more momentitos, Roberto.

Lunchtime now.

Roberto: Okay, I'm coming!

[to our trio] I wanna throw like Mami one day.

Goodbye my friends!

Roberto's Mami: Come on, now!

Xavier: Bye, Roberto! Brad: See ya Roberto!

Yadina: Bye, Roberto!

Xavier: Whoa.

Roberto found a way to fix the fence,

when it seemed like there was nothing he could do.

And now everyone can play baseball without getting hurt.

Yadina: Maybe we can do the same thing

with the water fountain at the museum.

You know? Find a way to help.

Berby: [blee blarp]

Xavier: Berby, let's go home!

Berby: [bleep, blar bloop]

Brad: This should warn everyone not to use the fountain.

Xavier: I told Mom and Dad the fountain's broken.

They had no idea!

Mom thinks she can fix it later today.

Brad: That's great!

Yadina: 'Til then, we can give cups of water

to anyone who's thirsty.

Brad: Now that you mention it...

[gulping]

Aaaah!...So good!

Yadina/Xavier: [laughing]

Yadina: Oh Brad!

Roberto Clemente grew up to be one of

the best baseball players ever.

He even became the first person born in Puerto Rico

to be elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame!

Uh!

Yadina: [catching grunt]

But Roberto is REALLY remembered for being someone

who did everything he could to help people.

Brad: Huh!

Heh! Uh?

[grunts]

Nyah!

Yadina: Like giving free baseball lessons

to kids who couldn't afford them,

and delivering food and supplies to people in need.

Brad: That's what made him a REAL--hero.

at twirling and jumping on iiiiiicce.

Yadina: Speaking of jumping--

time to start the show!

Brad: Aah!

Xavier: Hey Yadina, all ready for the school Roll-A-Thon?

[grunting] Yadina: Uh-huh.

Dr. Zoom 'n me have been practicing a TON.

The more we skate, the more books get donated

to the library-yee-OW!

But so far, I can only go about seconds without falling.

Xavier: Should I get my skates? I'm happy to help!

Yadina: No, thanks Xavier. I'm gonna do this

all by my-SEEELF!

Ugh! Brad: Eeeww!

Yadina: Oooh!.

Brad: I know you don't want us to help you, but maybe

we couldust get you--

Yadina: I think everyone.

Kristi Yamaguchi: Are you okay? Do you need some help?

Kristi: Try going on your knees first.

Then one foot up,

put your hands on your leg,

Kristi: I know how it feels to be new on the ice.

I just started skating a couple years ago.

I need to get WAY better

if I'm gonna skate in big shows

and competitions one day.

Yadina: I need to skate better too,

for my school Roll-A-Thon.

What's your secret?

Kristi: Nothing, really.

Just a lot of hard work and practice.

Yadina: But I DO practice.

There's gotta be something else.

Coach: Okay, Kristi!

Let's get back to practicing your turns.

Kristi: Got it, Coach!

Brad: Auuu! Yadina: Ooo!

Kristi: Ugh! Not again...

Coach? Could you help me, please?

Coach: You had the right footwork,

but you need to remember:

chin up and don't look at your feet.

Mom: You can do it, Kristi!

Kristi: Thanks, Mom. Thanks coach!

[skating grunts]

Xavier: That was ah-maziiing!

Yadina: How'd you get so good so fast?

Kristi: [giggles]

I asked for help.

I'm lucky to be surrounded by people

who want to help me do my best.

My coach,

my mom...

and Dorothy!

My skating buddy.

Yadina: Oh!

[Dr. Zoom voice] Hi, Dorothy.

Boop!

Yadina/Kristi: [giggle]

Kristi: They remind me that it's okay to ask for help.

Yadina: But...what if you want to skate on your own?

Kristi: I do skate on my own.

But that doesn't mean I can't use a bit of help sometimes.

Like asking my mom for help

getting to skating practice.

It starts SUPER early,

way before school.

Mom: Alright, let's go!

You sure you got everything, Kristi?

Kristy: Uh.. uhm..

Oh no!...Dorothy!

Thanks, Mom! Mom: You're welcome!

Okay, come on, let's go.

Kristi: Coach knows a LOT about figure skating

so I always ask her for tips and advice.

Coach: You were leaning a little too much.

Kristi: Okay.. uh huh..

Xavier: Woah!

We're at a real competition!

Yadina: That was SO BEAUTIFUL!

Xavier: The best she's ever skated!

Brad: I hope the judges liked it...

Xavier: Her scores are up!

Yadina: Those are the highest scores!

Kristi: [gasps] I did it! I won GOLD.

Coach: That was perfect!

I'm so proud of you!

Yadina: Wow, Kristi won the biggest skating competition

in the whole world!

By working hard, and practicing...

to help kids learn to read.
