so I can try out my new snowboard.

OLIVE: Me too! I really wanna try out this sled.

I wonder where Ari is?

SALLY: Hey, Elinor! Are you heading to Willow Hill too?

ELINOR: We sure are!

JAVIER: Awesome! See you there!

ARI: [Grunts]

Phew!

[Grunts]

ELINOR: Hello Ari!

ARI: Hi-ya! You ready for some

[grunts] fun?

ELINOR: We're ready, but, uh, Ari?

Why are you bringing your bike to go sledding?

ARI: Because I wanna go fast down Willow Hill.

My bike is super fast!

Check out these racing tires!

I'm gonna be zooming down that hill!

Woo-hoo!

[Grunts]

OLIVE: Okay.

Let's go to the hill!

ARI: Yeah! Let's [grunts] do it!

[Grunts]

MR. MOOSE: Okay, Sally, those skis should be nice and tight now.

You're ready to go!

SALLY: Thanks, Mr. Moose.

Uh, Mr. Moose.

MR. MOOSE: Oh, sorry, Sally.

Let me give you a ba-ba-ba-ba-boost!

SALLY: Thank you!

MR. MOOSE: I declare Willow Hill is now open!

KIDS: [cheers]

ELINOR: Hi, Sally!

SALLY: Hi!

MR. MOOSE: Hey, kids! You ready for some fun in the snow?

ARI: [Grunts] We sure are!

And I have the perfect thing to go down Willow Hill on.

MR. MOOSE: Oh, really? What is it?

ARI: My bike, of course!

MR. MOOSE: Oh, uh.

ARI: It's super fast, and it's got mountain bike tires!

Perfect for hills!

MR. MOOSE: Are you sure about that, Ari?

ARI: Absolutely!

MR. MOOSE: Alright then, just be careful and have fun!

OLIVE: Thanks, Mr. Moose! We will!

OLIVE: [giggles] ELINOR: Woo-hoo!

ARI: [Grunts]

KIDS: Woohoo! Yeah!

ELINOR: [giggles] OLIVE: [giggles]

ELINOR: Should we wait for Ari?

OLIVE: Yeah, he should be coming any second now.

ARI: [Grunts]

OLIVE: Any second now...

ARI: [Grunts]

[out of breath] Okay, who's ready for some fun?

ELINOR: Me! Let's go! Woo hoo!

OLIVE: [giggles] Whee!

ELINOR: Woo-hoo! Yeah!

ARI: Woo-hoo...

Oh.

ELINOR: Uh oh. Ari is stuck.

ARI: I don't get it. My bike is always so fast going down hills.

ELINOR: You okay, Ari? What happened?

ARI: My bike isn't going very fast.

Actually, it isn't going at all!

OLIVE: Do you want to use my sled?

ELINOR: Yeah, you can try my snowboard, too, if you want.

ARI: Thanks, but I really want us to go down the hill together.

KIDS: [cheering]

ARI: Hey, I think I know why my bike isn't working.

OLIVE: Really? Why?

ARI: Well, look at what everyone else brought to go down the hill.

How is mine different?

ELINOR: Hmm, your bike has wheels!

ARI: Yeah, maybe things with wheels don't work in the snow.

OLIVE: Oh, that's true!

My roller skates don't work at all in the snow!

ELINOR: So, wheels don't work in the snow.

But why do these other things work so well in the snow?

KIDS: [cheering]

ELINOR: Hmm. I noticed that all of the things

that work well on the snow have a bottom that's flat!

Like Sally's skis, or Koa's toboggan.

ARI: Right! So I just need something that's flat.

[gasps] I have just the thing at home.

ARI: No, uh, nope.

Maybe it's -

there it is!

Finally, now I can go down Willow Hill on my-

ELINOR/OLIVE: Wagon?

ARI: Sure! Mr. Moose helped me take off the wheels,

so now it's nice and flat!

ELINOR: Okay!

So, are you ready to give it a try?

ARI: Am I? Let's do it!

OLIVE: Ready. Set.

ARI: Go! ELINOR/OLIVE: [Grunts]

ARI: Woo-hoo! Yeah!

Yay!

JAVIER: Coming through!

Woo-hoo!

ARI: I just don't get it.

I made my wagon flat, and it still doesn't work.

ELINOR: Hmm, let's figure this out.

How is Ari's wagon different from everything else that is going down the mountain?

OLIVE: I have an idea.

Let's observe what our friends are using and compare those to what Ari is using!

ARI: Good idea!

ELINOR: Great!

We need more observations!

I've got it!

Okay, these are the things that do go down the hill fast.

And this is Ari's wagon that doesn't.

What do we notice?

SALLY: All of our things are flat.

ARI: But so is my wagon. And it still doesn't work!

ELINOR: That's because being flat is only part of the solution!

OLIVE: Really?

What else do you need?

ELINOR: Everyone come up and run your hands along the bottom of Sally's skis,

and my snowboard, and Koa's toboggan.

What do you notice?

KOA: Uh, they have a curved front.

OLIVE: Yeah, a smooth, curved front.

ELINOR: That's right!

All the things that work well on the snow

have a bottom that's flat with a smooth, curved front.

Like skis, or a sled, or a toboggan.

Even my snowboard and Olive's saucer have a curved front.

ARI: Yeah, and my wagon has kind of a square edge.

OLIVE: Great job, Elinor!

We figured out why Ari's stuff doesn't work!

ALL: [Cheering]

ARI: [Sighs]

ELINOR: What's wrong, Ari?

ARI: Well, I'm glad we figured out why my stuff didn't work on the snow.

But, I still don't have anything to go down the hill on.

And I really wanted us all to go together.

OLIVE: That's true.

We still need to find something that Ari can go down the hill on.

ELINOR: Yes, we do.

Unless...

OLIVE: What are we doing?

ARI: I don't know, but Elinor has an idea.

I like where this is going!

Ah!

ELINOR: Mr. Moose, Mr. Moose, can you help us build something?

MR. MOOSE: Sure! I have all my tools here!

ELINOR: Great!

Do you think you could help us build-

[whispering]

I guess we better get to work!

ELINOR: Wow, Mr. Moose! It's perfect!

MR. MOOSE: Yeah, not too shabby.

What do you kids call this thing?

ARI: I call it -

the skiwagoncycle!

ELINOR: Yay! OLIVE: [Giggles]

ELINOR: Okay Ari, with this flat bottom,

and with a smooth and curved front,

you'll zoom down that hill!

OLIVE: And it's nice and stable, so you'll still be safe!

ARI: Let's do it!

OLIVE: But Elinor, how are you going to go down the hill without your snowboard?

ELINOR: That's the best part.

The skiwagoncycle is so big, we can all go together!

ARI: Yeah! OLIVE: That's so much fun!

MR. MOOSE: Ready, set, go!

KIDS: [Cheers]

ARI: It's working! It's finally working!

ELINOR: Flat with a smooth front was the way to go!

OLIVE: Yeah!

KIDS: [cheers]

KOA: Whoa! That is one sweet ride!

Where'd you get it?

ARI: We made it!

SALLY: Wow! Can we try it out?

ELINOR: Sure!

KOA: I wanna try it!

SALLY: Ooh, me first!

ELINOR: Don't worry.

There's plenty of time for everyone to get a turn.

OLIVE: And since the bottom of the skiwagoncycle

is so flat and has a smooth curved front,

it should be easy to push back up the hill, too.

Who wants to help?

SALLY: Me! Me! I can't wait!

ELINOR: Great! You steer, Ari!

SALLY: Now, that's what I call a smooth ride!

KIDS: [Giggles]

ELINOR: Brush your teeth!

ARI: Uhh No - not there.

[Grunts]

ARI: Robin!

Elinor and Olive will be here soon for our robot party.

But I can't find Mr. Robot anywhere.

[Sigh] How can I have a robot party without a toy robot?

Ok, we need a plan.

One - find Mr. Robot.

No luck there.

I'll come back to that.

Two - warm up.

A robot party needs a proper warm-up.

Oof! Eegh!

Boop-beep! Boop-beep! Boop, boop, beep!

Beep, beep boop!

Warm-up complete.

Three - brush my teeth.

Dr. Ram said I need to brush morning and night.

[Gasp] Dr. Ram, the dentist!

That's it!

I was playing with Mr. Robot

when I went for my last check-up at Dr. Ram's office.

ELINOR/OLIVE: Hi Ari!

ARI: Hi!

ELINOR: Check out my Rob-awesome costume!

Boop-beh-beh-bee boop!

OLIVE: And I made a little Do-It-Yourself-Bot!

Not as good as your toy robot Ari, but-

Ari? What's wrong?

ARI: I've lost Mr. Robot!

The last time I had him was a couple of weeks ago at the dentist's office.

I must have left him outside in the sandbox.

ELINOR: Uh-oh! Let's go look for him.

There's no better way to have a robot party

than by helping a robot in need!

Come on!

ARI: Right with ya!

Only, I feel like I'm forgetting something.

Hmm.

Oh, well, let's go.

ELINOR: I had a great morning!

I woke up, ate carrot pancakes,

got my costume ready, brushed my teeth.

ARI: That's what I forgot! To brush my teeth!

OLIVE: Oh no!

ARI: Oh well, there's always tomorrow!

And the day after that.

Why do we have to brush our teeth so much?

ELINOR: Hmm. Good question.

Why do we have to brush our teeth at all?

OLIVE: Sometimes my teeth feel icky,

but brushing them makes them feel nice.

ELINOR: Yeah, and, they smell good after!

[sniffs] Speaking of smells, I smell...

OLIVE: [sniffs] ELINOR: I smell... ARI: [sniffs]

KIDS: Donuts!

MR. RACCOON: Oh! Hi there, kids.

And robot.

KIDS: Hi, Mr. Raccoon.

ARI: Something smells delicious!

MR. RACCOON: Why, thank you, Ari!

Those are my signature donuts!

I'll grab you one in just a moment.

ELINOR: What's that, Mr. Raccoon?

MR. RACCOON: This is my new bread slicer!

My old one stopped working.

ARI: Why did it stop working?

MR. RACCOON: You can see inside there the blade that slices the bread.

See how this blade has little teeth?

KIDS: Mm-hmm.

MR. RACCOON: What do you notice is different between these two machines?

ARI: Hmm. These teeth look shiny.

OLIVE: And these ones look old and dull.

MR. RACCOON: Exactly!

I should have cleaned these teeth and taken better care of them.

But now they're dull and don't work.

Who's ready for a donut?

ARI: Oh! Me! OLIVE: I am!

ARI: Mmm!

I love them- I love them- I love them!

[sniffs]

Uh-oh I think I might have some bad breath.

MR. RACCOON: No worries, Ari. That happens to all of us.

The best way to get rid of bad breath is to brush your teeth.

Did you brush your teeth this morning?

ARI: No, I forgot.

MR. RACCOON: Uh-oh.

You don't want your teeth to end up like the teeth on my old bread slicer.

I forgot to regularly take care of them,

and they became dull and broken.

Our teeth are the same.

That's why it's important to brush them every day.

ARI: Every day is a lot!

I wish there was a robotic toothbrush that would brush my teeth for me.

[gasps] I almost forgot! My robot!

We gotta go! Thanks for the donuts, Mr. Raccoon! Bye-bye!

MRS. BEAVER: My-my Elinor, I didn't know you were a robot?

ELINOR This is just a costume.

We're on a mission to save a real missing robot.

MRS. BEAVER: Well, it looks like you

made the perfect costume for a robot rescue.

OLIVE: What are you working on, Ms. Beaver?

MRS. BEAVER: Well this fence needs some fixing up.

A couple of boards have gone soft and crumbly.

ELINOR: That's so interesting!

How can something hard, like wood, turn soft?

MRS. BEAVER: That's what happens when you don't take care of it.

So, once I replace these boards,

I'll paint them to protect them from rot.

ARI: Uh-oh. My toy robot has been out

in the cold wind and rain!

And it doesn't have anything protecting it!

MRS. BEAVER: Well then, I won't keep you from your robot rescue.

Good luck, kids.

KIDS: Bye, Ms. Beaver.

ARI: Here bot-bot!

Bee-boo-beep beep! Boo boo!

Here, mister bot-bot!

ELINOR: Does that actually work?

ARI: I don't know, but at this point I'll try anything!

KIDS: Here bot-bot!

Boop beep bop boop boop!

[Giggles]

ARI: [Gasps] Mr. Robot!

Oh no. He looks different!

ELINOR: He's dirty and dull, just like Mr. Raccoon's slicer.

OLIVE: And he has a hole in his tummy.

Just like the hole in the wooden fence!

ARI: And he's all rusty.

DR. RAM: Hello Kidderoos!

Doing alright?

ARI: Mr. Robot is broken, Dr. Ram.

And he's covered in rust.

DR. RAM: Sometimes rust happens when you leave metal outside unprotected.

It looks like your robot could use a good brushing.

Speaking of, have you kids been brushing your teeth?

ELINOR: You bet!

OLIVE: Twice a day!

ARI: Umm mostly yes.

But today no.

I forgot. I was busy trying to rescue Mr. Robot.

DR. RAM: I'm sorry about your robot Ari.

But remember if you don't take care of your teeth,

they might end up looking just like Mr. Robot!

ELINOR: How is that Dr. Ram?

DR. RAM: Well, why don't you come on in and I'll show you?

Brushing your teeth twice a day is very important to keep them clean.

ARI: But my teeth feel clean. I can't - quite - see them.

Do they look clean?

OLIVE: They look clean to me!

ELINOR: If they look and feel clean, Dr. Ram,

why is it important to brush our teeth?

DR. RAM: Good question, Elinor.

Looking clean doesn't mean they are clean.

Our mouths are full of teeny tiny living things called bacteria.

They're so tiny that we can't see them unless we have a microscope...

Or a giant model tooth!

ARI: Whoa! That is a big tooth!

DR. RAM: These are bacteria.

There are a ton of them in our mouths right now.

ELINOR: Whoa! OLIVE: Ew! ARI: Cool!

DR. RAM: In fact, there are more bacteria in our mouths

than there are animals on the planet!

ELINOR: That's so interesting!

So even though our mouths might feel clean,

the tiny bacteria are still there.

DR. RAM: Exactly.

And we need to make sure that we clean that bacteria away

because if we don't, then more bacteria will grow!

ELINOR: That's one dirty tooth!

ARI: But what are the bacteria doing?

DR. RAM: Oh well they're feeding off of bits of food left in your mouth!

OLIVE: So brushing pushes all those little bacteria away?

DR. RAM: You bet!

Here Olive, let's make this job a little easier.

OLIVE: Wowza.

That's a big toothbrush!

DR. RAM: Not only is brushing good for removing bacteria

but it's also good for protecting the teeth.

That's why we use toothpaste.

ARI: I wish we could brush our teeth with donuts.

DR. RAM: Hmm... I don't have donut flavored toothpaste,

but I can get you strawberry or bubble-gum toothpaste.

OLIVE: Yum! ARI: Mmm!

DR. RAM: Yeah!

Toothpaste contains something important called fluoride,

that helps protect your teeth and prevent cavities.

ELINOR: Just like painting a fence protects the wood,

the way Ms. Beaver did.

ARI: I get it. Brushing cleans your teeth and protects them.

DR. RAM: You got it, Ari!

ARI: And if we don't brush our teeth,

then they can end up stained, dirty, and full of holes,

just like Mr. Robot.

DR. RAM: The good news is, I think we can help clean up Mr. Robot.

ARI: Yes!

Now we can finally have our robot party!

DR. RAM: Ah-ah-ah!

Don't rush away too quick, Ari.

There's one more important thing to do first.

ARI: I know. I need to brush my teeth!

♪ ELINOR: Brush 'em morning and night, ♪

♪ OLIVE: To make 'em feel just right. ♪

♪ ELINOR: We brush 'em squeaky clean. ♪

♪ ARI: The whitest teeth you've seen. ♪

♪ Take it, Mr. Robot! ♪

♪ Beep Bo, Beep Beep Bo, Beep Bo Bo, Beep Beep Bo! ♪

♪ ALL: I gotta brush brush.

♪ Give that paste a squeeze, ♪

♪ Clean teeth are a breeze.

ALL: [Giggles]

ARI: Did you brush your teeth, Mr. Robot?

[robotic voice] Affirmative.

How about you, Robin?
