JOHNNY: Previously on "Endlings"...

What exactly are we dealing with here?

Whatever it is,
it can take over anything electrical.

SPARK ENDLING: Kaazi is asleep.
I'm here now!

JOHNNY: It's a spark endling.

SPARK ENDLING: Am I the last one of me?

We need to figure out a way to trap it.

SPARK ENDLING:
I do not want to go back to sleep.

TABBY: You mean... in the trap?

SPARK ENDLING:
Can I be part of your family?

Okay, then. Welcome to our family.

Mom?

Why did his mother abandon him?

Oh, you'd be surprised how many kids

with physical and neural
differences are given up

because their parents can't,
or won't, care for them.

I think we just found your polar bear.

I want that animal
captured by nightfall.

[ELECTRICITY ZAPPING]

That's not an albino bear, is it?

SPARKY: Ursus maritimus.

Latin for "maritime bear,"

due to the animal's ancient habitat.

Polar bears were the
world's largest carnivore

until their extinction in 2035
due to climate breakdown.

They are known for their
excellent swimming abilities

and incredible sense of smell.

Polar bears use their sense of smell

to find seal breathing holes in the ice.

They wait for the seal to come
up for air and they pounce.

[SNIFFING]

- SPARKY: Polar bears can swim...
- [POLAR BEAR ROARS]

[SPARKY CONTINUES, INDISTINCT]

How did this happen?

The scoring seems to suggest
a plasma weapon of some kind.

I'll need more than that.

Cross referencing our
data scan for a match now.

Well?

Non-lethal police baton.

Find them.

No need. Looks like they found us.

I'm home!

Hello?

Anybody here?

Welcome home, Tabby.

How was your weekend?

Clearly less exciting than here.

- Where is everyone?
- Uh, first things first.

Do we have to do this after every visit?

Yes, we get to check in every time.

So, sit down with tea or rapid fire?

Rapid fire.

- How's your mom?
- Happy.

- How are you?
- Happy.

Need more. Three words.

Um, smiling, sunny...

lucky.

Why lucky?

Because I have two
families that like me.

Correction.

That love me.

[CHUCKLES] One bad thing.

Had to clean my room.

- One good thing?
- Fixed the fridge.

- Oh, what was wrong?
- Clogged coil.

Oh, typical.

- [CHUCKLES]
- Agreed.

It's good to have you back. [CHUCKLES]

Now, where is everybody?

Ah! Johnny and Ling went out looking
for the polar bear with Sparky.

Julia and Abiona are in
the barn counting Endlings,

and Finn is upstairs.

Hm.

Math or blasting?

Blasting it is.

Maybe have a quick word with Finn first.

- It's never quick.
- [CHUCKLES]

Hey, where's your suitcase?

I left it at my mom's.
I have enough stuff here.

[SIGHS]

SPARKY: A group of polar bears
is called a celebration.

These gatherings rarely happen, though,

as polar bears tend to
lead isolated lifestyles.

[ROARS]

SPARKY: Do you want to play a game?

I hope so, because I want
to play a game with you.

[POLAR BEAR GRUMBLES]

SPARKY: Tag! You are it. I got you!

Now you have to get me.

[EXHALES]

Hey, Finnster. You waiting for me?

You want me to tell you
what I remember again?

[DOORBELL RINGS]

- Hello?
- Mom.

She has long hair,

like my mom's, except blond,

and she has your eyes and
your nose, unfortunately.

[BOTH CHUCKLE]

Was she happy to see me?

Mom, it's me.

I...

I'm sorry.

Mom.

Yes! Yes, she was.

Who wouldn't be?

But that's all I remember.

Um...

Oh, we should go help Johnny
capture that polar bear.

Race you there.

- Thank you.
- So...

third weekend with Tabitha.

How'd it go?

Really great.

Uh, I feel like she's
starting to open up to me.

She's sharing a lot more
than she ever has before.

That's wonderful, Maria.

So, do you think you might
be up for a whole week?

[KNOCK ON DOOR]

Look, I've got to take this.
I'll be right back, okay?

You know, you don't have to do

a full week until you're ready.

I just don't want to mess it up.

It feels so nice to be a mom again.

Hey, you won't mess it up.

You know, Noah, I haven't
had the chance to thank you yet.

For what?

Tabitha says that you have been really

helpful through this whole thing

and you know that she doesn't
like to give compliments.

You know, it's just part of the job.

No.

You've gone above and beyond.

So thank you.

You're welcome.

Uh, so you said that
Tabitha has been opening up.

What about?

Uh...

About her time with
Mr. Leopold and the other kids.

Oh, did she tell you about the alien?

[LING CLICKING]

[WARBLING]

SPARKY: This is fun.

- I am having fun. Are you having fun?
- [ROARS]

SPARKY: I hope so. We're new friends.

Ready?

[LING WARBLING]

SPARKY: You did not touch me.

You are still it.

Ready, Johnny?

Got him! Whoa!

[LING WHIMPERS]

- Don't got him.
- [POLAR BEAR GROWLS]

One for Sparky.

One for Tuko.

One for whichever Endling Hewes has.

And one for the polar bear.

Which means there's only one
more Endling we haven't met yet.

What's wrong?

I kind of don't want this all to end.

Me either.

So, what will you and Tuko
do when this is all over?

[TUKO TRUMPETING SOFTLY]

I don't know yet. You?

What is it?

Did you ever think
about going with Ling?

I have.

Me too.

I want to make sure we
finish what we started.

[TUKO TRUMPETS SOFTLY]

Looks like Tuko does too.

There's something about Tuko
I've been meaning to tell you.

What?

What?

SPARKY: I am it!

[SNARLING]

SPARKY: And I need help.

I wouldn't do that if I were you.

[SNARLS]

Sparky, you okay?

SPARKY: I am stuck.

- [POLAR BEAR SNARLS]
- Now listen, we're here to help you.

- SPARKY: Thank you, Johnny.
- [SNARLING]

JOHNNY: Just stay calm...

and this will all be over soon.

Ling, now!

SPARKY: Go, Ling, now!

Now, drop the trap pieces!

Hurry!

SPARKY: [GASPS] Oh no!
He's getting away.

[LING SIGHS]

What didn't you understand
about "Ling, now"?

[LING CHITTERS, SIGHS]

We need to learn how
to communicate better.

[CLICKING, WHIMPERING]

SPARKY: It is okay, Ling. I can help.

Wait, you can speak, uh... Ling?

SPARKY: I can learn
to speak any language.

It is actually very easy.

I can teach you to speak Ling
and Ling to speak Johnny.

What's that?

[LING CHIRPING SOFTLY]

SPARKY: Ling says, "Trouble."

Ling says, "Big trouble."

Pregnant? We're going to have a baby?

We're going to have a baby.

Yes.

- Yes?
- Yes.

[TUKO TRUMPETS]

[GROANS SOFTLY]

But how?

- Well, the male deposits his...
- No, no!

No, no, no! No, no, no.

And don't say "deposits."

Tuko's been with us for over a year now

and Tumani died just before that.

African elephants carry their
babies for just under two years.

Two years?

It's the longest gestation
period of any mammal.

What are we going to name the baby?

[WARBLING]

It looks like you have something
else to deal with first.

- Congratulations.
- Thank you.

[TUKO TRUMPETING SOFTLY]

- Congratulations, Tuko.
- [TUKO TRUMPETS]

You're going to be a great mom.

The polar bear must have
cracked open a trap underwater.

[LING CHIRPING]

SPARKY: Ling says, "Time to save them."

But wait, stop. [LING WHIMPERS]

But wait, stop.

SPARKY: Something is wrong.

We cracked its shell.

[CREATURE ROARS]

And it doesn't seem happy about it.

[LING WARBLES]

SPARKY: Ling says, "Run!"

Good idea.

Ling!

- SPARKY: Oh, no! Ling!
- JOHNNY: Ling!

SPARKY: Johnny, what do we do?

- Ling?
- Yeah. [LAUGHING]

Oh, what a wild imagination, huh?

Yeah.

Okay, so, an alien that
travels around the universe

collecting the last of every species?

Yeah. [LAUGHING]

That's pretty wild, I mean...

- So...
- Wow, what'd I miss?

MARIA: Um...

I think I'm ready to try a full week.

Excellent.

[SHARON LAUGHS]

Yeah.

Thank you for returning this, officers.

Oh, we're not returning it.

This is evidence now.

Evidence of what?

Animal endangerment.

What animal exactly have I endangered?

A polar bear.

A polar bear?

Mm-hmm.

As I'm sure you're aware, polar
bears went extinct several years ago.

Which is why it's so interesting
that the tracking log from this

has a five-year gap that only
restarted a few weeks ago.

Care to explain?

[ENERGY PULSES]

SPARKY: Ling, are you okay?

- Ling!
- [LING WHIMPERS]

[CREATURE CLICKING]

SPARKY: Johnny, what do we do?

Nice work, Johnny.

[CREATURE WHIRRING AND CLICKING]

Can you understand what it's saying?

SPARKY: I will need to hear more
to build a vocabulary database.

[CREATURE WARBLING]

Processing.

[CREATURE SHRIEKING]

Processing.

[ROARING]

- [JOHNNY STRAINING]
- [CREATURE CLICKING]

Translating.

New. Home.

Find. Crush!

You okay?

- [LING WHIMPERS]
- [CREATURE SNARLS]

Hey, Mr. Crabby.
Let's see if this will cheer you up.

[ENERGY PULSATING]

- No, don't.
- SPARKY: Stop, you're hurting it!

Sorry!

SPARKY: Are we not playing tag anymore?

[CREATURE GROANS]

Why don't we give you some
time to think about it?

Not too much time, though.

You don't want us to come
back with a search warrant.

Although, I am really
curious what goes on here.

Hm.

I think you'll find it easier
when we work towards the same goal

instead of against each other.

See you soon.

[EXHALES]

[DOOR CLOSES]

GRETA: What's wrong, Mom?

Nothing, sweetheart.

Just a small setback.

That's better.

- Mom?
- Yes, Greta?

How long do we have to stay here?

- LAB TECH: Ms. Hewes?
- Yes.

The chemical analysis on the
plant enzyme is complete.

I think you'll find
the results troubling.

[HUMMING]

[ENERGY PULSES]

SPARKY: We are back.

Any luck?

No polar bear.

But we did meet a new endling.

Giant crab.

- MR. LEOPOLD: Hmm.
- Thought it looked more like a lobster.

Especially after you
blasted its shell off.

- TABBY: We were just trying to help.
- JOHNNY: That was helping?

What?

- You should have yelled louder.
- SPARKY: We didn't mean to.

It was an accident.

ABIONA: Hello, everyone.

Abiona.

There you go.

Are you sure I can't
convince you to join us?

Yeah. Why does Tuko
get all your attention?

Actually, I was thinking of
eating with you all tonight.

There is something I'd
like to talk to you about.

MR. LEOPOLD: Wonderful.

Johnny, can you set

- another table setting, please?
- Yeah.

And, Finn, would you mind
putting the robot away?

[ABIONA GIGGLES]

Why is she smiling like that?
She never smiles like that.

Neither do you.

This can't be good.

[ABIONA AND JULIA GIGGLE]

What am I looking at?

LAB TECH: Genetic
breakdown of the enzyme.

It's similar to digestive enzymes
found in certain carnivorous plants.

Which means?

If we'd left the enzyme
on Kavya's hand...

It would have digested her?

Combine that with the hallucinations

that seem to draw in those affected...

It's hunting us.

LAB TECH: It would appear so.

[MONITOR CHIRPING]

- You have an emergency call.
- Put it through.

Do you finally have something for me?

[CHIMES SOUNDING]

SPARKY: What are you looking at, Finn?

My mom.

I think.

- SPARKY: Why do you...
- FINN: [RECORDED] I think.

Because, I've never met her.

SPARKY: Why have you never met her?

I got lost,
but she wants me to find her.

SPARKY: Why have you not found her?

Because...

I don't know where to look.

SPARKY: Processing.

What are you processing?

SPARKY: Processing.

Sparky?

SPARKY: Located.

Who did you locate?

SPARKY: Your mom.

We need to move quickly.

What would you like me to do?
