- I can't wait to get to Swimmy Island.
It's the best waterpark in City Island.
- It's the only waterpark in City Island.
- That's why it's the best!
- Whoa! - Sorry kids.
This road is closed. You'll have to take another route.
I'm a detour sign.
- But I took the tour of City Island last week.
- Detour means the path is closed,
and you'll have to take a different route.
- Oh no. Which way do we go?
[whimsical music]
- Maybe I can be of service.
- Hi there. We're trying to get to Swimmy Island.
- The name is Geo. I'm a map.
A map is a drawing of a real place
that shows where things are, like water parks.
Surfs up. [chuckles]
One of my directions is to be hilarious.
- Mission accomplished. That was hilarious.
How do we get there?
- You gotta read the map, my man.
Can you find the You Are Here arrow?
- [Watt] What? I'm on the map.
Oh, you mean the arrow? Oh, found it
- Nice, and according to my forehead, you need to walk
two blocks north to Center Street.
- [Windy] How do we know which way is north?
- With my compass rose.
- [Watt] I love roses.
- [Geo] Not that kind of rose.
It shows you which direction is north,
south, east, and west.
- [Mark] That way is north.
Let's go! - Thank you!
[upbeat music] [graphics beeping]
- Congragitations! You made it.
It looks like your next stop is at th Avenue,
which is right over the bridge.
- Well, how do we know how to find the bridge?
- By using my legend.
- I'm kind of a legend myself.
- [Geo] No doubt, but I'm not talking
about that kind of legend.
A map legend tells what the pictures, colors,
and lines on the map mean.
- [Windy] Ooh, I see.
So this dotted line represents the bridge.
- [Mark] So all we need to do is walk west over the bridge.
- Correctamundo, happy trails!
[upbeat music] [graphics beeping]
Welcome to the other side. The grass is greener. Am I right?
- Maps are fun.
- Okay, g*ng, for the final stretch,
you'll have to combine everything you've learned.
To get to Swimmy Island, you have to walk two blocks north,
head west, cross a bike path, and then you've made it.
- [Group] We can do it!
- [Watt] According to this arrow, we are here.
Two blocks is straight ahead
- [Mark] And according to the compass rose west is this way.
- [Windy] According to the legend, this line is a bike path.
We'll cross there. Let's go!
- Good luck kids. You got this!
[upbeat music] [graphics beeping]
- [Group] We made it!
- Nice job little buds!

are ready for fun in the sun.
You really know how to read a map!
- Thanks to you!
- Do you know where the mega-splash water slide is?
- I sure do! Just go southeast, northwest, cross the bridge,
west, north, south, then spin around.
- Oh no! - I'm just kidding.
It's right behind you!
- [Group] Hooray!
