Mafu: The string...

Ritsu: Oh, sh*t...

Ritsu: It's all...

Ritsu: over...

Haru: Hey, what happened?

Haru: Oh, your string broke? Do you have a replacement?

Haru: I guess you wouldn't, huh?

Haru: Uenoyama!

Haru: Run to the shop in front of the station and get some.

Haru: C'mon! Why do you guys look like the world's ending?

Haru: When a string breaks, you just have to fix it!

Haru: Weren't you the one who fixed it for him when it happened the first time?

Mafu: This can be fixed?

Flashback: ,Of course it can.

Ritsu: I'll be back!

Haru: I'll go talk to some people downstairs. You two go back to the greenroom.

Aki: Right...

Yayoi: Akihiko.

Yayoi: What's going on? Ritsu—

Aki: Sorry, I can't talk right now.

Aki: Sorry.

Yayoi: Take care of Ritsuka for me.

Op: Everything that you left behind

Op: Became my everything

Op: The wound pierced into my heart

Op: Still remains as the days continue to go by

Op: If I were to forcibly take it out, the pain would never end

Op: So I'll just leave it there

Op: Rainy, sunny, and cloudy days

Op: Spring, summer, fall, and winter

Op: days a year

Op: You're there in all of them

Op: Reach in deep

Op: And while you're at it, take away my memories, too

Op: The voices that can't be heard

Op: Are strangling me again

Op: Dig deep

Op: And look at the pain within me

Op: Everything that you left behind

Op: Became my everything

Op: Everything that you left behind

Op: Became my life

Take: This next one's gonna be our last song.

Crowd: Aww...

Take: "Aww..."

Take: Thanks, guys!

Take: "Two... or three songs..."

Take: "Buy us some time."

Take: Got it.

Take: So...

Take: I said this would be our last song, but we're actually gonna play a few more!

Take: You guys aren't tired yet, are you?

Sign: Welcome to Shirosawa Instruments

Guy: Thank you!

Guy: Ow, damn it.

Ritsu: Am I an idiot?

Ritsu: I'm the one who told him to sing.

Ritsu: He's... hard to understand,

Ritsu: but he always tried so hard to do what I asked of him.

Mafu: I was able to change the strings all by myself.

Mafu: I went to the light music club.

Ritsu: I...

Ritsu: I got 'em!

Haru: That was fast! Man, it must be great to be young.

Haru: I asked the band before us to play another two or three songs,

Haru: so let's regroup and relax.

Ritsu: Thanks...

Haru: Just make sure you cool off before we go on, okay? Seriously.

Ritsu: Right...

Haru: I'll go give the PA guy the updated setlist.

Ritsu: Right.

Ritsu: Mafuyu.

Ritsu: Will you let me change your strings?

Aki: Haruki.

Haru: What?

Aki: Hey, Haruki!

Aki: Look at me.

Haru: Huh? What—

Aki: You know...

Aki: I'm not sure if you even realize this,

Aki: but you're always saving my a*s.

Haru: Uh, what? You mean with band stuff?

Haru: Well, I'm not—

Aki: I mean personally.

Haru: Huh?

Aki: Thanks for inviting me into the band at a time when my nerves were all shot to hell.

Haru: Yo, can you put the damn death flag down?!

Aki: I might actually die.

Haru: That's really not funny right now!

Aki: Say, Haruki.

Aki: You can be a little more conceited, y'know.

Ritsu: I think the heart is similar to these strings.

Ritsu: When the pain is too much to bear and you can't breathe,

Ritsu: it hurts, like the strings laid across your chest are about to snap.

Ritsu: It's just like when you keep strumming and picking at the strings to their very limit,

Ritsu: and sometimes they snap.

Ritsu: Sometimes you feel like they can't ever be replaced.

Ritsu: But if there was someone to replace your strings for you, like this...

Ritsu: I feel like your wounds may heal just a little.

Ritsu: Mafuyu, I like your sound.

Ritsu: I was trying to give you a little push,

Ritsu: but before I realized it, you were the one pulling me up.

Ritsu: Ever since you showed up,

Ritsu: my sound's been scattered, disconnected, and warped...

Ritsu: It's just a mess.

Ritsu: But I'm having so much more fun now

Ritsu: than when I was just playing the chords I was told to play.

Ritsu: Damn it, what am I trying to say?

Ritsu: I guess I suck at trying to put my feelings into words, too.

Take: Thanks, guys!

Take: For those of you who came to see our next band, sorry to keep you waiting for long!

Take: We're leaving now, so don't be too mad!

Orange: Their vocalist was pretty funny.

Orange: His bass solo was really good, too.

Ueki: Uenoyama's band is up next.

Shizu: Those guys ran pretty long.

Haru: Looks like they kept the mic up.

Haru: It's not really in the way, so should we just leave it?

Haru: You decided not to sing, right?

Haru: Or are we going with the "lalala" strategy?

Ritsu: Mafuyu!

Ritsu: Hey, you're staring off into space.

Ritsu: Where are you looking?

Haru: Got it all out of your system, Uecchi?

Ritsu: Yeah, when I accidentally snapped the string...

Mafu: I never know how I'm supposed to react...

Haru: I mean, there's no point in dwelling on the things we can't do right now.

Haru: Let's just have fun.

Mafu: Just like how everyone laughs and cries...

Mafu: I just can't do it well.

Mafu: I think I'm really bad at expressing myself, compared to everyone else.

Mafu: But...

Mafu: But in reality, even if I really wanted to...

Mafu: I can't cry properly, and it hurts so bad...

Mafu: It hurts so much that I just want to scream.

Mafu: I always wanted someone to understand that.

Mafu: Even just a little bit...

Song: Just like

Song: Snow that hasn't completely melted

Ugetsu: What the hell?

Song: In the shade

Song: I continue on with these feelings inside me

Song: Please tell me how I'm supposed to close the door on this love

Song: Your everything has lost its tomorrow

Song: And is now wandering around eternally

Song: Along with me

Song: Who was unable to say goodbye or move on

Song: Just like

Song: A spell that still won't break

Song: Or some kind of curse

Song: I'm still holding on to some heavy baggage

Song: Hey, what kind of tomorrow

Song: Am I supposed to look for in this town?

Mafuyu: Are you willing to die for me, then?!

Song: Ah...

Mafuyu: A story that took place one winter...

Mafuyu: A story that took place one evening...

Song: The cold tears that fall

Mafuyu: No matter where I go, you're there.

Song: Freeze under the sky

Mafuyu: You're always in my head.

Song: They pretend to be kind

Mafuyu: You're in everything I see.

Song: And around the time they fall down my face

Mafuyu: No matter where I go, I can still see you there, can still smell your scent.

Song: Two people who were always together are torn apart

Mafuyu: I can't forgive you.

Mafuyu: I can't forgive myself.

Song: That's all there is to this story

Mafuyu: But I want to.

Mafuyu: I miss you.

Song: Even if your everything loses its shape one day

Song: You'll always be here within me

Song: As I try to move forward again, even though I couldn't say goodbye

Song: You'll always be here with me

Guy: That was awesome!

Girl: You were great!

Guy: Hell yeah!

Ugetsu: Oh, I see...

Ugetsu: He's another one who's been blessed with natural talent.

Haru: Uh, hello?! Ue?

Haru: Uh, our guitarist just sorta walked off...

Haru: But the song we just played is a new song that our guitarist, Uenoyama, composed for us.

Haru: And the lyrics were written by... Actually, he just sorta left, too,

Haru: but our vocalist, Mafuyu, came up with them.

Haru: This is our first song with vocals, actually.

Mafu: Thank you...

Mafu: Thank you for getting me this far.

Mafu: Thank y—

Ritsu: You did so good out there.

Ritsu: I'm gonna go play another song.

Haru: Oh, hey! Our guitarist is back, so we'll play some of our older songs.

Haru: Fujimoto-san, song number , please!

Haru: This will be an instrumental number.

Mafu: I'm not lonely.

Mafu: I'm having fun.

Mafu: I love music.

Mafu: I'm having fun during lunch.

Mafu: And I have someone new I'm in love with.

Mafu: If only I could talk to you again...

Girl: That was so good!

Guy: I loved that second band!

Guy: I know, right?

: Great show, guys!

Guy: I think I had goosebumps all the way down to my feet.

Guy: For real!

Guy: Wasn't that song sick, though?

Guy: The vocalist sucked at guitar, though. I wonder if he's new at it.

Guy: If he's a newbie, he's gonna be a huge deal someday for sure!

Aki: I know, right?

Haru: Praise us more.

Take: No, seriously, though! For real!

Take: That vocalist of yours... Where'd you find him?

Both: Yay!

Take: Okay, okay, okay... How many toasts do you guys want to make?

Take: Seriously, though. Why don't you guys set up a social media account?

Haru: I know, right?

Hiiragi: Hey.

Mafu: Why are you looking at me like that?

Hiiragi: Shut up.

Hiiragi: Yuki knew that you liked music.

Hiiragi: His eyes were always glued to you whenever you'd randomly start humming something.

Hiiragi: Yuki wanted to write a song for you.

Hiiragi: But you wanted him to say, "Let's do this together," didn't you?

Mafu: Hiiragi, how was the show?

Hiiragi: You sucked a*s, dude. Your fingers were barely moving.

Mafu: Hiiragi.

Hiiragi: What?

Mafu: I have someone new that I like.

Hiiragi: Sounds good to me.

Hiiragi: Do your best.

Mafu: You should cheer me on.

Hiiragi: That's too much work.

Mafu: A story that took place one summer...

Mafuyu: A story that took place one evening...

Ed: Loneliness is a weapon

Ed: It can hurt people

Ed: And can make you not realize it

Ed: Loving someone is a sickness

Ed: It makes it hard to breathe

Ed: And there's no cure for it

Ed: These days are a miracle

Ed: But something's still missing

Ed: There's still an empty column

Ed: You're mysterious

Ed: Your existence

Ed: Makes me both stronger and weaker

Ed: I wonder how we're doing

Ed: Are we being proper human beings?

Ed: I'm not sure

Ed: But I check our answers as I try to find out

Mafu: What the heck is that weird song?

Yuki: Weird song? Really?

Yuki: It's what you were humming the other day.

Mafu: Was it?

Yuki: It was.

Mafu: Really?

Yuki: Really.

Yuki: Whoa, it's freezing!

Yuki: How stupid is this?! Let's go home!

Mafu: You're the one who wanted to come here.

Yuki: It seemed like it'd be a decent date spot.

Mafu: A date?

Mafu: You never even asked me out.

Yuki: Well, that goes for both of us. You never did, either.

Yuki: Aw, crap. Do you have any tissues?

Mafu: Everyone thinks we're going out.

Yuki: Well, we basically are.

Mafu: There's a difference?

Yuki: Like, maybe a % difference.

Yuki: Ugh, I can't. The ocean is k*lling me.

Yuki: Huh? What?

Mafu: I think this is the first time I've ever come to the ocean.

Yuki: Are you freakin' serious?!

Yuki: I'm sorry I said the ocean was gonna k*ll me!

Mafu: What are you talking about?

Yuki: The ocean's awesome! The best!

Mafu: Lying is as easy as breathing for you, huh?

Mafu: Hey.

Mafu: Let's go home already.

Yuki: Just five more minutes.

Mafu: Why?

Yuki: I'm drilling it into your head that I'm the first person you ever came to the ocean with.

Mafu: Most of my firsts are with you, Yuki.

Mafu: You still want even more of them?

Yuki: You might remember when you come to the ocean again.

Yuki: On another day when the winter wind is strong.

Yuki: Or you might remember when you randomly start humming that weird song.

Mafu: I won't forget this even if we don't spend another five minutes here.

Yuki: Nah, you're gonna forget.

Yuki: You'll remember it next year.

Yuki: Probably even five years from now.

Yuki: But you probably won't think about it much in ten, I bet.

Mafu: I'm pretty sure

Mafu: that I'll still remember this day even ten years from now.

Yuki: Okay, let's go home.

Mafu: But... I'm sure I'll start to forget, little by little.

Mafu: I'm sure I'll start forgetting those things, little by little.

Yuki: Let's have sex in the bathroom when we get back.

Mafu: Apparently, that's called loneliness.

mafu: Yeah... Let's not.

Yuki: Well, which is it?

Mafu: Let's not.

Mafu: One day, atop a burning, blinding stage,

Mafu: I'll learn that for myself.
