Unlike the previous He-Man series, set on the futuristic planet of Primus, this version sought to return to the roots of the storyline and provide broader explorations never reached in the first series, including origins for each character, and some first-time animated debuts of familiar toyline faces.

01x08 - Siren's Song

Post by bunniefuu »

I am Adam, Prince of Eternia, defender of the secrets of Castle Grayskull.

This is Cringer, my fearless friend. Fabulous...

By the power of Grayskull!

I have the power!

Put some muscle into it!

Cringer's got the right idea. Focus on your climbing, not the altitude...

or how far a drop it is.

Cringer's got the right idea. Focus on your climbing, not the altitude...

or how far a drop it is.

I win!

It's a training exercise, not a race. If it was, I'd have...

Skeletor's forces are on the move. I suggest we do the same.

Right. No, left. It's quicker.

All masters to Castle Grayskull. Battle positions.

Don't worry about Adam. He'll catch up.

By the power of Grayskull!

I have the power!

Grayskull's just a pile of stones. What's the defense?

Don't know, but if Man in Arms needs us, it's good enough for me.

Dropping in uninvited. How rude.

Got my invitation right here.

Now!

Get out of here!

Hime!

Keep your papers off, my friends!

Mackinac's in trouble. Go!

Definitely gonna need an adjustment after this.

Too late to join the party. No? Oh, God.

Try out formation.

Make no mistake, masters. Grayskull will be mine.

So what is it about Grayskull, Man in Arms? Why does Skeletor why it's so bad?

I suppose it's time you all knew the truth.

As you all know, years ago, Skeletor and his evil warriors were driven to the dark hemisphere.

And now for the part you don't know.

The great and wise Council of Elders knew that Skeletor's evil forces would one day return.

So they transformed themselves into one.

Pure goodness. Pure power.

A power that has remained hidden inside Grayskull ever since.

Still looks like a pile of stones to me.

Yeah, well, it's a whole lot more. Don't you even listen?

I say we all take an oath of loyalty right now to protect the secret of Castle Grayskull. Especially the new guy.

I've already proven my loyalty. I don't have to recite some dumb-

An oath isn't necessary. Everyone here is loyal.

It won't be long before Skeletor attempts another attack.

I suggest we return to the kingdom and you all grab some well-deserved rest while you can.

Useless pathetic fools! How could you let those oaths defeat you?

You were the truth, Skeletor.

It's bad enough having to deal with that wretch he-man. Yet when it's all said and done, he is just one.

But those cursed masters, they're like burrow rats, always popping up.

Then why not find a way to exterminate them?

Yeah! How?

By turning them against each other when they discover a traitor in the ranks.

Someone whom they'd never suspect. Someone unquestionably loyal. Someone like Ram-Man.

Ah, I know. By convincing them there is a traitor in the ranks, the master's defenses will be weakened and Castle Grayskull will be mine.

Oh, Skeletor, how ever do you come up with your ideas?

It's a gift, dear Evil Lin. Now enact my plan!

Awake.

Awake.

Awake.

Awake.

Awake.

Awake.

Who are you?

I am the Siren Circe, the Lady of the Lagoon, and your new master.

When you hear my song, you shall do as I say, and afterwards shall remember nothing.

Awake.

Awake.

Awake.

Awake.

Awake.

Awake.

Everyone here?

What's all this about?

Man of Arms has devised a new weapon system.

Where have you been? We were looking all over.

Vision!

With Skeletor's sights firmly set on Grayskull, we need to be prepared for anything he might throw at us.

The Kinetic Immobilizer, designed to halt anything that moves, machines, weapons, even living beings.

Hey! What's going?

Well, if nothing else, you invented a surefire way to get Orko to clam up.

How very interesting. That weapon's no big deal. I could build one easy, perhaps. But why build one when we can have that traitor ram and steal theirs?

Retrieve the weapon. The weapon. The weapon. The weapon.

The weapon. The weapon.

What? What happened?

Break-in. Last night. They knocked out Buzz-Off and made off with the Immobilizer.

So, who were they?

Don't know. But the one who attacked me was big.

Whiplash!

Skeletor's forces are crafty, but whoever did this knew how to deactivate the alarms and knew about the Immobilizer. And the only people with that knowledge are in this room.

There's a traitor in the ranks!

Now let's not jump to anything-

Doesn't take loyalty off. Doesn't follow orders. Has a bad attitude. How do we know he didn't just knock himself out to cover his tracks?

I've had enough of this.

Save your anger for someone more deserving, like Skeletor.

Sorry, but the idea of a traitor just gets me steamed.

I understand that, Ram-Man. And that's an honorable feeling, but-

But still no excuse for leveling unproven accusations against one of your fellow masters.

I'm real sorry. I'll clean up the place as good as-

Maybe I should keep an eye on him. I'll get Adam to help.

Adam, help. What am I thinking?

No!

And then she took the Immobilizer from Ram-Man-

I hear my name?

It's always the one who points the finger, isn't it, Ram-Man? You traitor!

Wait! You were seen at the lagoon, where you gave the Immobilizer-

Lagoon? I was here, helping you clean up and-

Wait, I remember starting to help you, but then I-

I don't know.

A hearing is in order. On your feet, Ram-Man. Follow us to the palace court.

Where do you think you're going?

By official order, the king hereby declares you a traitor.

Guilty a treason.

You shall be locked in a jail cell and await punishment.

You do know what the punishment for treason is, don't you?

My faith in Eternian justice is rekindled!

Oh, Ram-Man. Time to wake up.

Now!

Now!

After him!

Good riddance to bad royalty.

A perfect ambush.

You got that part right. But it's you that's being ambushed.

The Mother-Marrier.

It's not working! Make it work!

Requires an activation code, which you don't have.

Attack!

Attack!

Your plan backfired, Skeletor.

While Ram-Man was in the palace, I neuroscanned him.

Upon discovering the siren spell he was under, I gave him one of these to block it.

Everybody's wearing him this year, except for you and yours.

And let's not forget my superb performance.

That led you to believe we would actually lock up Ram-Man for treason.

A pity that my siren song won't work on you. But now that this little beauty has been activated...

Perhaps I should steal the power of Greyskull for myself and use it to conquer all, even you, Skeletor.

No...

I am your master.

Go on. Jump in. The fire's fine.

What is this?

She'll be singing a different tune from now on.

Somebody must have hit the off switch!

Or perhaps the immobilization unit has been destroyed.

Let's beat it!

I want to thank all of you for sticking by me, even after you learned what I did.

For all my yapping, you were the ones who were really loyal. And I'm sorry for not trusting you, Buzz.

Ram-Man and Buzz-Off both learned a valuable lesson. Friends give each other the benefit of the doubt.

Don't make accusations or draw conclusions until all the facts are in. That's the true meaning of loyalty and trust.

See you next time.

See you next time.
