I love this little farmers' market.

it's a bonding experience.

- I love honey crisp apples.

- It's a delicacy [chuckles]

ABBY: Yes. Salty snack.

- [chuckles] No, I don't.

[both laughing]

ABBY: I think this is

good until, like, dinner.

ASHTON: You think this is good?

Yeah, this'll be a good little picnic.

ABBY: Let's go.

NARRATOR: Ever notice how driving

with someone you're in like with

all of a sudden feels so romantic.

for a day or two days,

but when we get to the city,

we'll stay in hotels.

- You don't sound too excited.

- Well, I am really excited,

but it's just, like,

that's three or four months,

like, kinda pausing my life.

- But it might be nice since the situation

with, like, Nick and Baylee

- and all of that to, like,

just get out and have fun

I just think it's my anxiety

and I'm just nervous.

when I moved back from New York

and, like, that breakup,

but I was kind of, like,

surface level with it.

- I didn't really

tell you the whole story.

Um,

but I mean, he was

and is an incredible guy,

and, like, everything

that I would want in a person.

And I don't know, I feel like I kinda, um,

like, screwed things up

[chuckles] with that.

He was ready to settle down

and I--

And that's, like, been

a tendency of mine, though,

is to, like, self-sabotage

and think that I

don't deserve that

or for whatever reason, like,

I mean, I've always looked

at, like, marriage as such a--

A lot of people don't view it

as, like, a lifelong commitment.

And I think growing up and, like,

seeing my mom's, like, you know,

I don't wanna call 'em mistakes,

but, um like, she was married

multiple times and it just--

- Scared you?

- Yeah.

Like I, [sighs] I value commitment

and I, I'm just scared

that the other person's gonna leave,

and so I guess I leave first.

NARRATOR:

Perhaps it was the Prosecco

or opening up old wounds to her BFF, Brit,

but somehow at that moment,

it dawned on Abby

exactly what she needed to do next.

NARRATOR: After wooing

her new neighbor with dessert,

into her first official date

with, you guessed it,

her new like interest.

I didn't have time

Well, I was married for a long, long time

to a wonderful girl named Nancy,

and we had three girls and a boy.

- We have 16 grandchildren.

- Wow.

- [chuckles] Yeah.

And they're all livin' up

in Atlanta and beyond, so

- Oh, honey, you got me beat by a mile.

I have one daughter,

but she is a beauty

and, uh, she is my rock.

Well, I lost my husband about

a year and a half ago after 54 years.

So, here I am out on, on the,

on the loose, so to speak.

And I thought you were

so cute and handsome yesterday.

I just--

- Uh-oh. [laughs]

- So, anyway.

Yeah, I would, I would like to, um,

I would like to find

somebody, quite frankly.

- It's kind of a hole in your heart, huh?

- Yeah. Kind of a hole in my heart. Yeah.

The n-- I think the nights

are the loneliest times.

- Yeah.

- When you're used to somebody

bein' in that bed.

- Yeah, there's only so much TV

that you can watch, I guess.

- I paint, and draw, and write.

- I had heard that on the street

that you are a very good artist.

Thing about it is,

is learning to fill your time

after the person you depended on is gone.

But I was kind of thinkin' about

maybe tryin' to find a partner,

but I don't think that I--

I want a partner.

I think I just want

somebody to be friends with.

- Well, you know, that's,

that's kind of where I landed.

Um, some friends were encouragin' me

to go date somebody, ya know, but--

- It just wasn't the same.

You can't replace

56 years of time together.

- And the common shared events

- and all those memories,

so I'm comfortable with friendships.

and be your friend.

that I can depend on

to be my friend.

- And, you know, we kind of know

that's-that's where we're goin' with it

- So, we're literally on FaceTime

and I'm telling him step-by-step

of how to cleanse his face.

[both laughing]

- He his mama's child, he's a diva.

- Well. [chuckles]

- He's a diva.

- I cannot blame the child.

[both laughing]

LASHOUNDRA: I think all of this datin'

has been a mistake,

because I really miss Kendell.

I think the datin' made me

realize what I don't want.

Kendell is who I want.

And I know where home is

and Kendell is home.

I'm slowly realizin' that I miss him.

This is good 'cause we didn't

do any of this in our marriage.

- That's kind of why mistakes happened,

but ma'am, you learn from 'em.

- Was our divorce a mistake?

NARRATOR:

And in the blink of an eyelash,

all the pain, heartache,

disappointment of the excruciating divorce
