01x04 - Into Bigfoot's Lair

I'm here, in Northern California, at
the very mysterious Mount Shasta.

And here to explore
the mountain with me

is the gorgeous, former
Bachelorette, amazing JoJo Fletcher.

Earthlings, Kesha here.

When I'm not onstage, I'm exploring
my connection to the supernatural.

This is my twisted journey
into the heart of darkness.

I'm surrounding myself
with top paranormal experts.

- I heard a growl, I heard it.

[Kesha] And I'm bringing along my
friends for the whole terrifying trip.

Is there a spirit
here? [screams]

I am here in Mount Shasta,

a very mysterious place
with very special energy.

This mountain is home
to all paranormal activity.

But what's really strange
here is that Mount Shasta has

more missing people
at this national park

than anywhere
else in the country.

So, I am here and I brought
my girl, JoJo Fletcher.

- Kesha, we just start documenting our location.
- [Kesha] Yeah.

In case we go missing here.

- [Kesha] Let's not.

One of my favorite things to do to turn
my brain off is watch the Bachelorette.

I love watching a woman
have, like, a buffet table

of men to pick from
and they're just, like,

"You get a rose. You go home."

That just sounds...
I'm so into it.

We met... We were
filming another show

for theBachelorette franchise.

We just totally hit it
off, she's hilarious.

And I'm so excited she's
down for this adventure.

I don't know what the hell
exists and what doesn't exist.

But I always go back to what if.

- Mmm.
- Why is this a place

that has the highest
number of disappearances?

And why have we
not heard about it?

We're gonna start with
talking to the sheriff,

because he has the information
on the missing people.

'Cause there have been
over 20 people this year alone.

This creeps me out.

- What's going on?
- I don't know.

- I find that the weirdest part, the whole story.
- I just got chills.

Just thinking
about it. [exclaims]

- Well, I got, hopefully not, the last Polaroid of you.

Well, as long as it looks good.

Hopefully this is not
the last instant shot.

[Kesha] There are places in this world
that modern science cannot explain.

The Great Pyramids,
Stonehenge, Skinwalker Ranch.

And then there's Mount Shasta.

A place with magical properties,

where all things paranormal
are believed to exist.

This dormant volcano has been a
sacred site for thousands of years

and continues to be so today.

The small town of Shasta,
at the mountain's base

has been home to more
than 100 spiritual groups.

Some claim that Mount
Shasta wields spiritual power,

drawing people in and
holding them c*ptive.

Others think there
are dark forces at play.

I'm walking into the eye
of a supernatural vortex.

A location that Bigfoot
reportedly calls home.

And where many believe an ancient
race lives deep within the mountain's core.

Could this subterranean
race of people be the cause

of the park's man
disappearances?

Could it be due to the scores
of alien abductions? Or worse?

Is there a crazed k*ller
Bigfoot on the loose?

There's only one
way to find out.

talked to a sheriff before.

[JoJo] Yeah, me neither.

I've been avoiding
sheriff's office my whole life.

- [JoJo] ...to get in good with them.

The sheriff has investigated these
missing persons cases for years,

so he might be able to shed
some light on the disappearances.

[Jeremiah Larue] Yeah, the topic of
missing people is kind of interesting,

'cause there's a couple of
different theories, at least that I have.

Sometimes people go missing,
because they don't want to be found.

- [Kesha] Like, they wanna be missing.
- [Jeremiah] Yeah.

Sometimes they get lost.

They get up there and
then they get turned around.

[Kesha] You don't
find any bones, bodies.

[Jeremiah] No
trace of the person.

- [Kesha] Just gone.
- [Jeremiah] Gone.

[Kesha] How long have people
been going missing for here?

Well, as far as I
know, I mean, forever.

Mount Shasta is home to a lot
of different legends and myths.

- [Kesha] Yes.
- [Jeremiah] You've probably about the underground city...

- [both] Yes.
- [Jeremiah] ...on Mount Shasta.

So I just learned about Telos, which is
an interdimensional city in Mount Shasta.

I'm super curious about it.

And I'm kind of [bleep]
about the idea that there's

an ancient civilization
in that mountain.

Supposedly, it's
somewhere on Mount Shasta.

People don't know specifically,
but they still come to look.

And that leads to part of
why these people go missing.

Oh, that was my thought,
if people are coming here

in search of something
and then getting lost

along the way or something
else happening to them.

[Kesha] Or are they getting
abducted by a Telosian?

And going to the
ancient city of...

Are they stuck in a
different dimension?

I don't even know if you
can answer this as a sheriff,

but do you believe in
these other theories?

I've seen some
weird things out there.

I think we all have.

You ask most people around
here, they've seen some things.

- [JoJo] The UFOs?
- [Kesha] UFOs.

Yeah, UFOs.

Uh, whether they're aliens
or not, I don't know that.

And, one of our
highways in the county

is actually known as
Bigfoot Scenic Highway.

Where we also have
very many missing people.

Yeah, that doesn't
make me feel super cozy.

So we'll be here
for the next few days

just kind of exploring all the
mysteries Shasta has, so...

local diner and talk to some people

that live here and ask them why
they think people have gone missing,

see what their experiences
have been here.

I wanna know
what to look out for.

There seem to be
so many different

supernatural forces
within this mountain.

People are drawn here and
then mysteriously disappear.

I wanna know why.

And there are some local people
that have stories they wanna tell us.

And we have so many questions.

There's many that are called to this mountain,
but there's very few that are chosen.

And you're looking at
the ones that are chosen.

Who is actually from here?

- Like born and raised.
- [JoJo] No.

[Kesha] So nobody was
born and raised here,

so all of you were
drawn to Shasta.

Yeah, it pulled
us here, we, uh...

What attracted
you to this place?

- The mountain.
- [Garth] Oh, yeah.

[Rob] I know a guy here who got
a flat and decided to never leave.

No, not...

It's obviously really
energetic and spiritual,

but we found out there are a
lot of missing people here too.

And it seems like a
paranormal epicenter.

I just wanna know
who in this room

believes there's something
paranormal that goes on here?

- [Walking Eagle] The room.

- [JoJo] Yeah, everyone believes that?
- Absolutely.

- [Garth] Everybody knows.

It's paranormal on steroids.

What are your theories on why
so many people go missing here?

They really don't go missing.

You're saying what then?
What happens to them?

They are taken care
of by different beings,

different worlds,
different realities.

- Like, different dimensions?
- [Dennis] Yes.

This is one of the major
vortexes on the planet.

[Kesha] We've been
discussing this all day.

It is something that's hard
to wrap your mind around.

In a nutshell, the theory is all the
sacred mountains on earth are connected.

Mount Shasta is the
queen jewel, so to speak.

A huge vortex with
many portals and vortices.

[JoJo] Is it, like, a gateway for all
these different supernatural beings?

Yes. The Little People,
the Bigfoot, the Star People.

We're all in this together.

Bigfoot, for Native
Americans on our river here

is a very, very
powerful, spiritual being.

Not everybody gets to see
him. You have to be open.

They only show
up in this dimension

when a righteous or
innocent soul is in mortal peril.

So, ideally, you have
no desire to see one.

Because if you do,
somebody's in trouble.

[Kesha] That said, I don't
know why you're not freaking out.

[JoJo] Has anyone in
this room seen Bigfoot?

[Garth] Absolutely.

- I would love to hear about that.

They were beautiful,
their fur was really long

and white and, obviously, they
were dirty and they smelled like musk.

And their eyes
were amber-colored.

It was very profound.

- Bigfoot sighting?

Yes. This is my campground,
up on the mountain.

us the image on his iPhone,

that gave me chills
down my entire body.

And that really kind of
made me say "what if".

It's amazing how something
can change so drastically in a day,

because now, after seeing
the videos and the pictures

and the stories from this place,

I'm definitely opening
up to the idea of Bigfoot.

I came in here with
a preconceived notion

of what Bigfoot may or may
not kind of look like or be.

And what I'm taking away is that
Bigfoot is a higher consciousness

that will dip in and
out of this dimension

that we shouldn't be scared of.

Unless you're trying to hurt a
righteous or an innocent soul.

My intentions are pure, so I hope
the mountain does not hurt me.

I woke up this morning, totally convinced
that all things have to be possible.

How ignorant of
me to just not believe

someone and their stories
when they have full-blown...

- Have had these experiences.
- Yeah.

I don't know, I woke up and I
was, like, I'm ready to find Bigfoot.

[Kesha] Keep an eye out for Garth,
he's gonna lead us up the mountain.

It would be terrifying
getting lost in this.

woods and somehow running into Bigfoot.

camping tonight in the dark, alone.

I can't even tell you the
last time I went camping.

My toes are cold right now.

I don't think I have enough layers,
but I'm here for the adventure.

[Kesha] So when I'm not
on tour or making records,

I actually love to camp.

I'm used to camping.

But with the Bigfoot
sightings in the area,

camping out tonight
could be really dangerous.

So we've called upon
a world-renowned

Bigfoot hunter, Ronny Le Blanc,
to lead us into the mountain tonight.

And hopefully,
help us find Bigfoot.

Ronny set up motion-activated
cameras along the trails.

We're hoping that the cameras will detect
Bigfoot's whereabouts and lead us there.

Two days ago, I didn't know if I believed
in Bigfoot and now I'm fully invested.

We're about to spend the
whole night looking for Bigfoot.

Now it's just up
to the universe.

So, universe,
I'm talking to you.

Can you send me
a Bigfoot, please?

I wanna see it.

There's a lot of theories
out there what Bigfoot is.

Native Americans,
over 200 tribes,

have names for
Bigfoot creatures.

This is something that
they believe is actually, um,

a people, almost a long-lost tribe
and others believe that it is an animal.

So there's something
to it, it's not just a legend.

They have to be very smart.

They're extremely smart and
they move in pods or family groups.

So the terrifying thing is
that if we do encounter one,

there's a good chance
there's more than one around.

Believe it or not, in this area,
they've been more aggressive

than other locations.

- What?
- [Ronny] And by aggression I mean throwing rocks.

- At us?
- Uh...

Yes, they are trying
to get us to stay away

from either their young or they have
designated areas where they are living.

No one's ever been described
as being k*lled by one,

but yet, we have people
going missing all the time.

So what's happening there?

Do you think the missing
people are related to the Bigfoot?

There seems to be some correlation
with missing people and Bigfoot reports.

So if you take that Bigfoot
map of all the sightings

and you lay that over
where the missing people are,

it seems to be concentrated in
those same areas where Bigfoot is.

You can hear footsteps,
you can sense that something

is right there, but
you cannot see it.

- So...
- Okay, listen.

- This is the stuff that really freaks me out, like...
- [Ronny] It is, I mean...

feeling something and
not being able to see it, like...

- And sensing it and smelling it.
- That's wild.

- It's defied logic, it's defied the laws of physics.

There's something quantum going on
there and Native American tribes do believe

that Bigfoot has one
foot in the physical realm

and one in the spiritual realm.

So that spiritual realm could be
determined as being interdimensional.

It made me feel a little sick to my
stomach, to be honest, when I heard that.

Genuinely scared me.

Honestly, I will say, I feel a
bit better having Ronny with us.

[Ronny] So I got some
interesting things here.

Trying to definitely enter the
mountain with love and an open heart,

like the locals said to do, but
now it makes me a little nervous

to go just tromping in the
woods in the pitch black of night.

[Ronny] So this is a
pocket thermal camera.

If something is hiding out there,
we're gonna get that heat signature.

- So will this pick up, like, a bird, a squirrel, a tree?
- [JoJo] Anything, right?

Anything that is emitting a heat
signature, we'll be able to pick it up.

I've experienced, quite a few
times, something that is there on this.

But it's not there
with your eyes.

But your eyes, and
our vision, right?

We only can see 1%
of the visual spectrum,

so there's stuff that's going on
around us that we cannot see.

That's why I think that
the big takeaway here

- is we don't know what to expect.

why we got Ronny.

us to a game trail

two miles from camp where
Bigfoot sightings are common.

Our first mission is to find
the trail in total darkness.

Then we'll follow the
trail into the mountain,

looking for signs of
Bigfoot and its whereabouts.

Using Ronny's experience, his
high-tech gear and our own intuition,

I'm hoping to spot
the elusive Bigfoot.

So after talking to
Ronny, it does sound like

the missing people does
correlate with sightings of Bigfoot.

So walking into the woods
tonight feels slightly less inviting.

then your eyes will get adjusted.

Once your visual
is kind of shut down,

Your other senses
kind of go into high gear.

and what we're doing.

We didn't know what to expect
when we asked about Bigfoot.

Is he dangerous? Is he nice?

And the feedback we
got is he can be either.

So, it does make me nervous

romping around the
woods in the black of night

looking for a Bigfoot.

And with like a full beat
and heavy lash no less.

At least I know if I get
abducted I'll look good.

halfway to the deer trail,

a Bigfoot hot spot,

but we still have
a ways to navigate.

[Ronny] One thing
that we could try

is just like a wood knock.

That sound will project.

And oftentimes we'll
get a response back

from deep in the forest.

[Ronny] A lot of researchers
actually will do this

before they know
they're entering in an area

where they're supposed to be.

It's almost a way to let
them know "I'm coming in."

What is it?

we're being watched.

[Ronny] I think we should
try a little experiment here

and see if we can project a call

to see if we can
get something back.

So, what exactly are we doing?

So, what we've done before
is using something like this

will help me to
amplify the sound

to see if we can get a response.

Kind of cover more ground.

That way.

[Ronny] Let's go.

'Cause I'm definitely feeling
something more in this area.

- [Ronny] There is a game trail over here.
- [Kesha] Okay.

[Ronny] They're
gonna use those paths...

- Because all the prey are kind of using those as well.

So, this the opening
to the game trail.

We know that deer,
bear, are all using this,

and Bigfoot uses
those same pathways.

[Ronny] Now that we've
reached the game trail

Ronny thinks we should
follow it further into the mountain

to search for signs of Bigfoot.

Or its whereabouts.

[Ronny] This is where
you're gonna find footprints.

This is where you're
gonna potentially find hair

that gets snagged
by the branches.

[Ronny] Did you guys
just hear, like, that breath?

It was like [exhales sharply]

Okay.

[Kesha] We're about 100
yards into the deer trail

and we're already
hearing noises.

It feels like the further
we go onto this trail,

the closer we're
getting to Bigfoot.

[Ronny] I don't see anything.

- I think we're okay.
- [Kesha] Yeah?

Okay.

- What was that?
- [Kesha] Did you hear that?

- [JoJo] What was that?
- [Ronny] I just heard that.

- [JoJo] What was that?
- [Kesha] A knock.

[JoJo] That was a knock.

- [Ronny] Yeah, right over here, right?
- [JoJo] It was over here.

[Ronny] Okay.

[Ronny] If there's anything making
noises like that in the middle of the night

it's not an animal that we know,

like, this is something that
has hands that's doing this...

That makes me excited.

What is wrong with me?

[JoJo] I don't know
where it came from,

but I heard something.
I heard a knock.

- I heard a knock, too.
- From this direction?

No. Back here.

- Oh, I thought it was that direction, too.
- Really?

So, one thing that's been
happening too with researchers

is that you will hear a knock...

coming from a part of the forest

almost to draw you in
to go in that direction

'cause maybe you're getting too close
to the babies or something on this side.

To try to distract you?

Yeah, and they
try to pull you in.

- [JoJo] Wow. Really?
- [Ronny] So, that tells you

its extreme intelligence
that we're dealing with.

You know, this is...
To me, I feel like it has

animal like qualities, but it's
more human than it is animal

and it seems to be more
alien than it is human

- based on these reports.
- And intelligent.

And extremely intelligent.

It's super intelligent
apparently.

There's a reason they've
been evading us for so long.

You guys notice something like

when we start
feeling a certain way,

and also we hear a noise and then
we start going towards that noise

and then we hear another noise and
then we turnaround and we start going...

- It's like...
- [JoJo] Mmm-hmm.

Messing with us. Yeah.

Yeah, they're called tricksters.

And they...

will use like a...

that wood knock to
kind of draw you in.

If you get over there, you'll
hear something on this side,

and you just get all twisted up.

You start to lose your...

[JoJo] Have you ever
found a dead body...

- on any of your hunts?
- No. No.

[Ronny] We have
found different...

What would be
described as, like, a k*ll site

where there are multiple bones

that something was bringing back

[JoJo] Human bones?

No, we found about four
or five different deer bodies

- all kind of in the same spot.
- [JoJo] That's creepy.

[Ronny] Careful. There's
some holes over here.

[Ronny] I just heard
something in here.

Over here.

[Ronny] So, I was hearing
something right in this spot.

There is definitely
movement in here.

[JoJo] What?

[Ronny] It's moving.

We heard something
right in here.

[Kesha] Something
is here with us.

[Kesha] What the
[bleep] was that?

Yes, exactly.

[Kesha] This feels like we're
headed in the right direction.

Let's keep going
where the tree's pointing.

[Ronny] This is interesting. Again
it's pointing in that same direction.

People have reported
actually hearing

what sounds like trees
getting pushed over in the forest

as they're having encounters.

So, these things have
incredible strength.

So, if they can do
something like this,

what they could do to us
if they really wanted to...

[Kesha] We've now seen two
tipped trees on the deer trail,

which could mean we're
getting closer to Bigfoot.

I feel like we're little
paranormal Hansel and Gretel

following these
little breadcrumbs

right into the Bigfoot den.

[Ronny] I got something.

[JoJo] Oh, my God. What is that?

[JoJo] Holy [bleep].
My whole body is frozen.

[Ronny] What color? White?

[Kesha] I saw two yellow eyes.

[Ronny] Yellow. Really?

[JoJo] I have no idea.

[Ronny] What
happened with that tree?

It just fell over.

- What?
- [JoJo] It just fell over.

Didn't I just talk about
trees getting pushed over,

like, literally five
minutes ago?

[JoJo] Yes.

So, we don't know
what is out there,

but we do know
something is out here.

[Kesha] There's some sort
of furry creature out there

with glowing eyeballs.

We have spotted what
seemed to be like eyes

that have disappeared
into the night.

No. When you do a
flashlight, it's white.

Has anyone in this room
personally has seen Bigfoot?

Their eyes were amber color.

So, the more I'm believing...

the slightly more
nervous I'm getting.

[Kesha] If Bigfoot
could do that to a tree,

imagine what he could do to us.

[Ronny] Tree fell.

Just out of nowhere.

We got a long night ahead of us.

[Ronny] I mean, we were hearing
something stepping down on branches

in the same spot where
that eyeshine was.

[Ronny] You guys feel
like you're being watched?

This got triggered by motion,

A portal to a
different dimension?

I don't know if it was a spirit.

But what I do know is that

it wasn't a good sound to me.

especially caught on a trail cam

without being triggered
by some kind of motion.

It doesn't make sense
how that got captured.

Everything has felt like
it's kind of rooted in love

and mysticism

and other dimensions our
brains can't comprehend.

But this felt like
a direct message

to me and my filming crew

that was something
we were meant to hear.

I don't feel particularly
welcomed by it and...

I want to stay out of its way.

In high energy areas,

Bigfoot seems to
have some interest

or some kind of purpose
around those spots.

These places actually
could be portal spots.

I feel like we came into
this whole thing, like,

really trying to figure out why
so many people go missing here.

And I don't know if
we got that answer,

but I think that we
definitely have realized

that is has something to do
with just the energy and the vortex

that is Mount Shasta.

So, the missing people.

I don't know if it's
extraterrestrials or if it's Bigfoot

or people just come into the woods
and get lost and kind of disoriented

because of the wild energy here.

I don't know.

We came here
looking for answers,

but I don't know if it's ever
quite gotten figured out.

And I don't know if we
figured it out in three days.

paranormal connection

became a mind-bending
exploration into the unknown.

My time in Mount Shasta
has opened my heart...

There's very few
that are chosen.

Challenged my mind...

I saw eyes.

And raised my consciousness
to a whole new level.
