moving inside the tire.

And decide if we're gonna go really deep

Or they are good to go.

Okay, this one, as a matter of fact,

looks very clean.

There is a anomaly on one
of the sides of the boxes.

One of the sides of
the box looks thicker than

the rest of the boxes.

CAPUTO: The trend we've been
seeing the last couple of months

is that concealing the drugs sandwiched
in between two pieces of cardboard

with a lot of glue so we can't get it out.

But the officer saw something
in that had an anomaly.

Trained eyes and you know it's something.

CISNEROS: Okay.
CAPUTO: All set?

CISNEROS: All these is loaded.

All these are hot.

I'm positive that we
have something hiding in

the walls of the boxes.

What it is? I'm not sure.

We will found out when we open them.

Our day just begun here.

CISNEROS: So we're
gonna open the first box.

If you take a, a quick look at this.

So you don't see anything, okay?

The only thing that might give it
away is this part was re-glued again.

So that's an indication
that somebody opened it up and

glued it back again.

Now you can see the, here,
the vein, if I can call it.

So one substance is here and the other one

might be on the other side.

All right, we have a white powder.

Here, we're gonna stop
because we gotta make sure

that this is not fentanyl.

So what we're gonna do right now,

we're gonna test it.

So we got the goggles, let me
change masks just to make sure

and that's what we're
gonna do to stay safe.

Cocaine.

So we know it's cocaine.

It's not as toxic as fentanyl,

so we're gonna try to extract it,

see how much it weighs,
and as you can see,

probably it's gonna be a lot.

Gonna take us a long time
to do it, but that's okay.

Well, the good thing about
this is when you start getting

the hang of it, it
becomes easier and faster.

big the cocaine shipment is,

we're always trying to intercept it.

Because it's always gonna
cause harm to our community.

One and a half kilo of cocaine.

six packages pulled out

of the rear passenger door.

When I started with CBP seven years ago,

I didn't know much about cars or

the voids that the manufacturer leaves.

Drug cartels, they'll
just come up with anything,

creating compartments on the floor,

loading up the whole dashboard,
but we're always onto them.

Ten packages were discovered on
this driver side passenger door.

At this point, we called a
contractor to help us out with

the spare tire to open it up
and see how much they were, uh,

trying to smuggle.

want to come out is that one.

Yeah, it's a hard capsule on the inside.

Or whatever white powder this is.

This could be very well legitimate,

but we've never seen it and
the way she's transporting it

is suspicious in itself.

There's different types.

Metformin, also metformin's
for either diabetes or women,

regarding menstrual cycle.

So it's not like they're just
over-the-counter medicines.

OFFICER: This is definitely
not over-the-counter.

OFFICER: That one
you need a prescription.

KHAN: The metformin is
definitely not over-the-counter.

OFFICER: Tramadol, Schedule IV.

This is not over-the-counter stuff.

make sure it is what it's

supposed to be and go from there.

It brought up compounds that
are of no interest to us when

we're looking for narcotics.

prescription is perfectly fine,

but when you're bringing Schedule IV or

Schedule V medication
without a prescription,

that's a problem.

bring prescription medication

without any prescriptions.

you can start seeing the packages there.

If you notice too,
every different location that

we took packages out of
has a different identifier.

So this one has a blue square,

the other ones have yellow or pink.



CONTRACTOR: And we're
just uncovering here.

That duct tape does not belong there.

That's a direction area
where the fuel pump unit is.

I'm gonna go ahead and open it up,

see what's underneath there.

We see obvious signs of tampering.

Where the retainer ring has been removed.

So we're gonna go ahead and open that up.

IRIZAR: It's always a hazard
to be dealing with the gasoline.

When we open up sending units,

we gotta be very cautious.

To make sure we don't spill a lot of gas.

They concealed the
drugs within the gas tank.

Those drugs, they're gonna infuse,

like the gasoline
gets within that package.

CONTRACTOR: And we
have an example here of

package that did not seal.

You see the gasoline inside there.

IRIZAR: Once these drugs go out
to the streets, you never know.

So they're not only using methamphetamine,

it could be a combination of
both methamphetamine with gas

and they end up in the hospital.

IRIZAR: The contractor
is draining the gas tank so

we can take the packages out.

The whole tank is loaded with packages.

These drug organizations,
they'll go through anything to

try to get the drugs across, you know?

I enjoy doing this, I
always volunteer to do, uh,

this type of seizures.

Get another glove.

The process along the way,
it's pretty rewarding.

It's a small percentage but it,

it counts a lot, you know?

It's something out of the streets.

The contractor now is
gonna bring a camera so

we can see inside the tank.

CONTRACTOR: Oh.
We got one package still there.

They're creating their own pills

because now, post-COVID,

more clubs are being opened up,
the nightlife scene is...

are having parties.

having more parties.

they get a hammer, boom, boom, boom, boom,

and voila the pill
comes on the other side.

Some of them have their
own name, their own logo.

CHIAPETTA: Drug
dealers brand their,

their pills so you know
who you're buying from.

CISNEROS: See that? The devil.

OFFICER: Yeah.

ROBINSON: Okay, so basically
what we're gonna do now,

we're gonna test what we
seem to think is ecstasy.

So basically what we want
to do is make sure to get

it all the way down.

OFFICER: It should pop good.

Ecstasy normally hit instantly.

Just give it a couple
seconds so the chemicals can

mix with the, the narcotic.

we realized that one was a

They go down there for cosmetic surgeries.

They get the breast implants,

I would take them,

at least get a pat down.

Could have it on them,

but after her story being consistent,

saying was matching up.

Sometimes people do
travel to source countries but

it doesn't mean it is illicit.

So our conclusion

like this could come over

from California over to here.

And that's where they'll distribute.

We'll put it on the
scale and get a total weight.

DERRICK: What we'll do is we'll
wrap the packaging back up,

and make it look basically
exactly the way that it was

shipped and we'll go out and we'll try to

get a controlled delivery
done here this morning,

and hopefully we can figure
out whoever it was going to.

loaded with a kilo of
crystal methamphetamine,

about 1.2 kilos.

We put sham narcotics in
there which is inert fake drugs.

And we're gonna deliver that box

Crystal meth, we don't see
that much of it in this area.

We, we, we see a lot of cocaine,

a lot of heroin, a lot of fentanyl.

Um, so our main goal is
to try to identify more,

more of the players that are involved,

more co-conspirators and to dismantle

this transnational criminal organization.

going on if we see anybody outside.
