and the rumors are,
the place is haunted
with loads of spirits.
The most famous of all is
the Abbey witch who's said
to have haunted the
Abbey for over a century.
Tonight we are gonna see if
there's any truth to that.
The Abbey was founded
as a Cistercian monastery
in the 12th century,
but fell victim to
Henry VIII's dissolution
of monasteries when it
became a country house,
and was owned by the Tudor
tyrant's brother-in-law,
Charles Brandon,
Duke of Suffolk.
Today, the great [indistinct]
building is listed
by Historic England
as a building of
historical importance,
but has been inhabited
since the 1960s.
There are many
reported incidents
of harrowing paranormal
activity in the Abbey,
including footsteps,
which can be heard
in the servant's
quarters, and the sounds
of slamming doors throughout
the abandoned corridors.
Not to mention dark figures
and shapes darting
from room to room,
and even disembodied chanting.
Unexplained EMF spikes
and measurable temperature
changes have been reported.
Her spirit has been
reported to rock
