Today is our one
and only rehearsal on the set

where we're sh**ting
the Pete Yorn music video.

The smallest mistimed move
could trigger a major accident,

so we really have to be
on top of our game today.

And in three, two, one. Action, girls.

Go, go, go, go, go.

The first thing
we're gonna have to practice

is a high-speed slide around a sharp bend.

Sammy, go.

Go, Kaitlyn, go.

Go, Meghan.

Watch out.

Hit the brake.

We got spun.

- Stop right here.
- Oh my God!

Kutch, is Meghan okay?

Hold up. Hold on.

Kutcher, talk to me. Tell me she's okay.

- Meghan, you good?
- Yeah.

I hit... I came around the corner,

I hit the brake,
and it just kept flying that way.

When I approached the corner,
everything was going smoothly.

My speed was good. I got a slide-in.

And it was at that point
where I need to turn,

and I turn, and I hit the brakes,
and they wouldn't release.

My car is not going forward.
It's going sideways.

I can't steer. I can't brake it.
It's out of control.

I just had to go for the ride.

All right. Let's see.

Well, what do you think happened?

Coming into this turn,
I can't steer, I can't break it.

I can't do anything to get it
from sliding around the corner.

It sounds like the braking system
wasn't accurately working.

And in this case,
it's electric brake system,

and if that's not performing properly,

the brakes fail.

Wasn't her fault.
It's just one of those things.

Thank God she wasn't hurt.

The car is repairable.

This is why we took the cars out there,

so that they could be tested,
and they could be tried before the stunt.

Okay, so look what happened here, Meghan.

Look at the radiator. Look at the fan.

So the whole entire front end,
it did get bent.

Our work is cut out for us.
The A-arms are bent.

It moved the engine
an inch and a half over.

This Camaro needs a lot of work now.

In terms of money and reputation,

this is a big deal to the Maloof name.

My concern is we only have
three days before the stunt.

So now we have to take
the car back to our shop

so we can put it back
into perfect condition.

The engine's warmed up.

Today I'm running test passes
down the quarter-mile track

because I wanna see
how my car's gonna perform

before my race with James McCaslin.

A talented racer from Tennessee,
who's been running his mouth.

I'm really gonna feel bad
about taking your 10,000.

Ever since James
beat one of our clients, Sonya...

She lost.

...he's been going on and on
about the Maloofs.

And he's been itching to beat us again.

So, I decided to accept his challenge
and put an end to all of this.

First run. It's fast,
but that car can go a whole lot faster.

How was that?

at 144 miles an hour.

All right.
But I know we can get a cleaner run.

Okay.

Before the stripe,
it started to lay down.

Could be the fuel pressure
or the crank trigger.

- I'll check it out when we get back.
- That's okay.

The other thing
is I shifted a little later on this run.

You did.

I would do it again. Wanna hit it again?

- Yeah.
- Okay. Go line up.

This is the most important race
for our shop.

Because it's Hannah racing.
It's a Maloof racing.

So there's a lot of people
waiting for this result.

If the word gets out that a Maloof lost,

it's a big hit to our ego
as well as our business.

However, if Hannah blows James away,

that's gonna boost our business big time.

Hannah was driving a stunt car
at six years old.

She would sit behind the wheel
in that car for hours,

and I would say,
"Hannah, are you ready? Let's go."

And she'd say, "No, Daddy. Can I just stay
in the car a little bit longer?"

So now she's racing for $50,000.

And Hannah will be in that zone

for the next five days
until she crosses that stripe.

That's moving.

Hey. She's showing off now.

This race with James,
there's a lot at stake,

so I have to make sure that everything
on this car is running optimally.

From the tires to the carburetor,
to the crank, to everything.

And now, I'm focusing on the engine.

What are you running?

Well, I don't really tell anybody

about what we run
under the hood of our cars.

A good magician never reveals its secrets.

But what I can tell you, on the track,

I felt the car laying down a bit.

Could be the fuel pressure.
Could be the crank trigger.

Which means the engine
won't reach its full potential.

And in races like this,

you gotta make sure
everything is on point.

So I'm gonna check the crank trigger
and see what's going on.

Oddly enough right now,

both projects being worked on in the shop

involve Maloof drivers and their cars.

We have to get both cars
back to 100% in a matter of days.

So, let's check under the hood.

The whole engine
looks like it moved forward.

It's jammed into the shroud?

Yep.

Oh my God.

It looks like the way it hit,
it... it just bent it.

Yeah. The subframe's not straight.

It's a mess.

All right. We're gonna need to drop
the subframe and get a new one.

So we're gonna have to pull
the engine and trans out.

Let's do it.

That's good enough.

The fan is completely
up against that radiator.

Oh my gosh.

That really sucks.

Just doesn't feel good that I was the one
behind the wheel when it happened.

It's not a good feeling.

I know when my daughters are done
with that car, it's gonna be just right.

But I'm a little concerned
about Meghan's state of mind.

I know Meghan was shook
when she hit that curb.

I've seen drivers crash during a stunt,

get right back in it,
and nail it on the second take.

I've also seen drivers get rattled
and pull out of the stunt.

We sh**t the music video in three days.

I hope, by then,
Meghan can clear her head,

and get out there
and do what Meghan knows she needs to do.

While the twins
are putting the Camaro together,

Hannah's got a lot of work
to get done for her race in four days.

First thing I would do
is set the suspension up the same way.

Once-over your braking system,
which I know is excellent,

but still once-over it.

And then we'll go from there.

- Hold on.
- Okay.

It's Alan. The guy who works
at the shop where James has his car.

"Heads up. James is building
a complete new drivetrain for his car."

"Big, big cubic inch,

different transmission,
different rear end and gears."

Think about this a minute, Hannah.

- He's gonna go with a big engine.
- Right.

It's a $50,000 race.

- He's gonna do whatever it takes.
- Yeah.

We all gotta be prepared,
so let's get a little different game plan.

Take the big engine from my car.

Put the big engine in.

It's got another 350 horsepower more.

- It's gonna shave a ton of time off.
- Yeah.

We're gonna go out there
prepared to whatever he brings.

What about a bottle?
Think he'll add that too?

Of course, he's gonna wanna...

When I talked to him, he said,
"I'll race no power adders at all."

"Engine to engine."

And you know what, Hannah?

- I'll know if he uses it instantly.
- Of course.

So after you get the engine in,

then I want you to set the suspension.

The other thing I want you to do,
order a new vacuum pump.

is completely fixed and ready to run,

we're gonna sh**t the big chase sequence
for the Pete Yorn music video.

The concept of the video

is that a little girl is playing a game
of cat and mouse with her toy cars.

And as she plays with them,

her imagination
almost looks like it comes to life.

And Kaitlyn and I,

we're gonna replicate every move
she makes in her imaginary world.

The sequence will start
with us speeding away

from the scary big rig driven by my dad.

After some hairpin turns
and narrow misses,

Kaitlyn and I decide
to literally turn things around.

We stop running
and charge the big rig head-on,

forcing it to swerve out of the way
and slam into a parked car.

The impact sends the car directly over us,
crashing onto the ground and exploding.

Guys, the first bit of business
is to pick up where we left off.

Yeah, I'd love to do that.

And the first thing that we're gonna do

is practice that sweeping drift move
around the corner that I crashed on.

Meghan's on the top.

Kaitlyn's inside.

You go into a 90-degree turn
and power through it.

All right, then.
Let's get to work.

All right, girls.
Kaitlyn's gonna come by herself.

This move
is trickier than it looks.

The girls have gotta go around the bend,
doing a high-speed slide

that's timed perfectly for the cameras.

The challenge is,

the real estate between the buildings
is very limited. It's super tight.

Go, Kaitlyn.

Yep. That's how it's gonna happen.
Back to one.

So, Meghan,
you're gonna do the same thing.

I'm ready.

- You're oversteering your car.

Meghan is hesitating on her slide,

and she's pulling out early,

because she's still in safety mode
and working through the stunt.

get her confidence back

by reminding her
to erase what happened in the past,

and let her muscle memory
and experience take over.

I floored it,
and I was out of there completely.

I thought I left my sister in the dust,

but it turns out
her car started bogging out

when we were actually going.

started dying out right at the wrong time.

but she's stayed right on it.

My car decides
to throw a curveball at me

right under the fireball.

And I saw Meghan
just getting further away from me.

All I could do
was just try to mash the gas...

before that other car really stops me.

When I was younger,
I always wanted to do stunts.

It's just something
I always knew I wanted to do.

So getting this job opportunity
with my sister,

driving the lead vehicles for this stunt,

really made that reality moment for me.

Definitely a special experience.

come to life in real cars.

I'm so proud of my little girls.
They've come leaps and bounds.

When my girls started out,

they were helping me with my stunts.

So today my daughters proved to me

they belong in the stunt world
as much as I do.

My dad's bigger engine
is an absolute beast.

Problem is, this engine is new to the car,

so I'll need to get
some seat time to dial it in.

I will have to make that happen
over the next couple of days.

I've taken a lot of care
to set up my car just right.

I added a vacuum pump that will reduce
the air pressure in the engine

and add about ten horsepower
to the car's performance.

Checked the racing slicks
to make sure they have enough traction.

Set the suspension
for the track we're running at.

And most importantly,
installed a bigger engine

that will give my Nova
a 200-horsepower boost.

And all of these adjustments
will set my car to take down James.

All right. I'm not gonna tell you
how to do your own game. You know how to.

I just need you to give me
some numbers in the sub-nines,

eight-eighties, eight-nineties.
That's what it's gonna take to beat James.

- Okay.

I was at the line, lined up my car,
was getting ready to go down the track,

and hit my transbrake button.

When met throttle,
the car went in reverse.

The transmission gave out.

Smelled it, heard it,
felt it. Just... it's done.

Come here a minute, sweetheart.

We'll load up, tow this back,
fix what I need to fix,

and then get in here
and go racing. That's it.

This is called racing. It happens.

You got a lot of bulletproof stuff,

but you're putting
some serious horsepower down

and you're pushing
the mechanics to the very limit.

When you go from a standstill
to a wide-open throttle

in 1/100th of a second,
something's gonna give once in a while.

Let's get it to the shop and get it fixed.

and the truth is she did stay ahead of me
from the very beginning to the end.

to bring more than I had.
