maybe that's why I still haven't worked out how

- [Amy] Are you nervous?

- Not yet, ask me in the morning,

it might be a different story.

- What's going on?

- Flo's off to the comp of the pro tour.

- Of course, I knew that.

- Okay, Flo, you ready to go play with the big boys?

- Big girls actually and yup, ready to rock.

- [Man] Okay, you lot, Gilly's got the reigns.

Once she's happy you've done what you gotta do around here,

you can free surf all you like.

- Go get them girl.

- Yeah, good luck Flo.

- Two whole days without sand runs, paddling push-ups,

just blessed, brilliant, beautiful surfing.

(laughing)

(slow drumming music)

- It's a lake.

- I was on the net before

and the entire east coast is a lake.

The small boys are hitting zip zero and diddly-squat.

- You gotta get a grip.

- A grip on what?

- A grip on, oh, you know, a grip on my surfing fantasies.

They can get right out of control.

- Okay.

- How long is this flat spur gonna last?

- Forecast is reckoning at least the next two days.

- Oh well, I guess,

we'll have to find some other way

to amuse ourselves 'cause there's more

to life than surfing, right?

- Yeah right.

(slow jazz music)

- [Eric] Oi, hang on.

- What are those two bafoons up to?

- They're trying to make it from one side of the house

to the other without touching the floor.

- [Rachel Voiceover] Just keep on moving.

One step and then another one and before you know it,

you'll be out

of here before you can make a goose of yourself.

(slow jazz music)

♪ Through tunnel walk inside ♪

A serious grip girl, Mike is, well he's,

why would he like me, seriously?

His so sophisticated and

so not like the others and he's so in the doorway.

- Can't hack it, can you?

- Can't hack what?

- Sitting still.

- Not last time I looked.

When there was no swirl I'd go bush...

Go climbing or mountain biking,

anything to stop me from going mad.

- I went to a surfing trip to Indonesia last year.

Flat score for a week, I ended up going ashore instead.

Hiked for three days, didn't stay still.

- There's a place in the mountains, a couple of hours away.

The guy I did my abseiling certificate with runs it.

It's got cabins and places to hike an abseil,

maybe one day at some point you might want to come out

and check it out with me.

- Sounds great, I'd like that.

- Mike, phone for you, couldn't figure out the name,

it sounded Chinesey.

- [Mike] Japanesy actually, thanks.

- [Rachel Voiceover] Sounds great, I'd like that.

I'd really like that.

Steady on, there was no really, maybe it is possible,

maybe he doesn't see me as Dave and Jane,

Kyle's little wrestling sister.

Maybe all that's over.

I just need to get out and do something,

and I know the guy who runs the place so I'd be okay

and maybe Mike will come with me,

which would mean I'd be doubly okay,

'cause I know we're your responsibility this weekend

and I'd call you as soon as we get there,

and check in as often as you needed to feel comfortable.

- I think it's a great idea.

- You do?

- We'll all go,

a couple of days in the mountains will do us the world

of good, we'll go first thing in the morning.

Now, I put a racer on Ginger 'cause they both need a run.

I don't know if any of you have seen Rachel ride

but she's not bad so I'll send her ahead.

Anyone with good riding skills can join her, in fact,

anyone that can beat her back to the cabins,

doesn't have to collect wood

for the bonfire tonight, any takers?

- No.

- Let's have some abseiling gear and a map

of the best drops for the beginners.

I gotta pick up another group, you'll be all right?

- Should be, I was trained by the best.

(laughing)

- Rachel, there are taps but nothings coming out of them.

- I'll leave Bob a note and he'll fix it up.

- We need water to take with us.

Mike, there's a stream just up the escarpment, let's go.

- All right, amazing.

- She's a clever chick, mother nature.

- How do you know it's okay to drink?

- Basic physics, we're at the highest point on the range.

Nothing to contaminate it once it comes out

of the ground.

- You're definitely not like most girls.

- [Rachel Voiceover] Is that a compliment?

Then again, maybe it's not.

- That was a compliment.

you've got a whole year to spend with this guy.

- Was that a good yup or a bad one?

- Rachel are you okay?

- My ropes caught in the tree, I can't get it free.

- I'll go around the edge

to see if I can get a lookout from there.

- All right but be careful.

- We should call that Bob guy.

- We can't, we're out of range.

(lively rock music)

- Rachel, over here, what's happening?

- My ropes caught and I haven't got enough

to get to the bottom.

- I'll go and get Bob, you all stay here, okay?

No heroics.

- Shouldn't someone go with you just in case you get lost

or bitten by a snake or something?

- That's a jolly thought.

- Well, I'll come,

I've got an awesome sense of direction

and my snake charming skills aren't that bad either.

- All right, no heroics, remember?

(slow country music)

- [Rachel Voiceover] What's the first rule,

the most important safety rule?

The rule Bob drilled into us a bazillion times.

Mind on the job, mind on the job, mind on the job.

- They could still be another hour away.

It's gonna get dark soon.

- I'm going down.

- What?

- I've done a lot of indoor climbing.

The ledge where the rope is caught is only meters down.

- No, Gilly said, "No heroics."

- I go down, I free the rope from the tree.

It doesn't sound too heroic to me.

- I don't think it's a good idea.

- Sorry, my minds made up.

- I have taken another group out on a trail ride.

We've got Bob's big barbecue banquet tonight, cheers, Bob.

P.S. Rachel has my number if you run into any trouble.

- Oh yes, that's handy,

considering Rachel's stuck half way down a cliff.

- I still think it's a bad idea.

- There's no way I can fall.

She's double roped to that tree and

that rope can actually take someone six times her weight.

- So unless you're gonna chop the tree down,

you're gonna be stuck with me for the rest of the year.

- [Cole] Brooke's coming down.

- Say it again, I didn't hear you properly.

Please tell me you didn't say Brooke's coming down.

Here we go.

Brooke, you need to move across to the left.

- Okay.

(upbeat rock music)

- Here it comes.

(screaming)

- Brooke!

Are you okay?

- I think I've sprained my wrist.

- We'll pull you back up.

- I don't think I can hold on without hurting it more.

- Nobody do anything, okay?

Just stay right where you are until I work out what to do.

(upbeat rock music)

- Mike, come back, you heard Rach'.

- Amy, can you explain how it is that when we left you,

there were four and now there's only one.

(mumbles)

(upbeat rock music)

- Hey.

- Hey, Brooke, what's wrong?

- My shirt caught on the rope and I can't move.

- What're we doing?

- Let's go get her.

(upbeat rock music)

- Brooke.

(upbeat rock music)

- Lift the strain off the rope so I can pull her shirt out.

Ready to get out of here?

- Definitely.

- Okay?

- Yeah.

(slow classical music)

- You need a little help?

- [Brooke] Yeah.

- [Rachel's Voiceover] I know that look,

I know what it means.

Mike's got a thing for Brooke.

- Brooke are you all right?

- I'm fine.

- Her wrist is really badly sore.

We have to ice it and bandage it as soon as we get back.

- I'm fine.

- Rachel, you and Mike make quite a team.

- You didn't tell us,

there was gonna be rescue stunts and stuff.

- It didn't turn out quite like I'd planned.

- That's an understatement.

- All right, come on.

Come on, we're gonna miss Bob's big barbecue banquet.

- Yeah, just thought I'd let you gus lead the way this time.

- Sorry about the bonfire folks, tired of fire,

to apologize for today, my mind wasn't on the job.

all the people that I've trained,

you're the last one I would've thought would stuff up.

- Yeah, leapt before I looked,

been doing a fair bit of that lately.

- It's kind of a relief now that I think about it.

- We went to the movies but...

I don't know, it was pretty matey.

- Welcome to my world.

- I've moved around so much.

I've never really stayed anywhere long enough

to have a girlfriend.

- Are you kidding me?

It doesn't sound like you've had a stack

of boyfriends either.

- I just thought...

You seem so grown up sometimes compared to the others.

- Yeah, well, you don't have to make a big thing about it,

or what happened at the creek either.

- My adventure.
