so I thought I'd come home and visit a few old friends.

get the good hotels.

The rest of us just backpack at dives.

like he's allergic to board wax or something.

That call I had from Andrew last night.

Seems he got in a fight with Border at the Pro Am.

- And they kicked Edge out.

- No, he walked.

It seems Edge has been a bit

of a trouble maker on the circuit

and it's all come to a head.

- Can we help him get it sorted?

- I don't know.

He's not exactly opening up about it.

- Maybe he'll talk to me.

We're mates.

- He said he just wants some time out to chill,

maybe a week or so,

and then he'll be fine.

- And the boys have stuck him in a comp.

- Yeah.

Not the happiest proposition.

- But, it's not like he'll be under any pressure.

Maybe a bit of low stress surfing

is what he needs to get some fun back into it.

- Yeah, maybe.

(gloves slapping)

- Hey.

We entered you into a comp tomorrow.

- I saw.

- I heard you weren't too happy about it either.

- It would be nice to be asked, that's all.

- I know we ambushed you about it.

- [Announcer] Nice beforehand and moves from Mike Kruze.

The boys from Solo Blue Academy

are sweeping their heats.

- Corey Petrie nails a seven point five right.

♪ Now's the time to squat first ♪

♪ I sit back and watch it go ♪

♪ I'm in a vacuum here after it all ♪

- [Announcer] Dean Edgely, very confident

in murky conditions.

That's a good sweeping fore hand cut back lift.

- What do you reckon?

- He's not really going for it.

He's just doing enough to win.

- Maybe when he's surfing

against our boys, stiffer competition.

- Yeah, maybe.

- [Announcer] The semi-finals are underway.

Eric Tanner taking on Mike Kruze,

and already, Mike scratched up an eight point one score.

(applauding and cheering)

♪ I'm in a vacuum here afterall ♪

♪ Forcing us to let go ♪

- [Announcer] Eric's not finding his rhythm

in this matchup.

There's not enough length in that right,

and Mike Kruze is through to the finals.

(applauding)

- Go, Mike!

- [Announcer] Nice work from Petrie

in average conditions.

(cheering and applauding)

- He's jumping out of his skin.

- [Announcer] Edgely down to some pressure.

That ride gets him an eight point two,

so it's an all Solo Blue final

between the Edge and Mike Kruze.

(cheering and applauding)

- How was your ride out there, Corey?

- Yeah, one more good wave

and you could've given him a run.

- You reckon?

- No, she's just making it up, man.

Good old Monkey Bar,

he's gonna get creamed in the final, aren't ya?

- Are not.

- [Eric] Yes, you will.

- I've been watching Edge.

He likes a long ride,

so if I rack up some turns at the start,

I might be able to out point him.

who gets bored by the whole scene.

We used to compete,

I just don't like the comps.

I just feel like this is the right thing for me.

- I have been thinking about it for months.

because as far as burning bridges goes.
