for about three years.

And the whole family's coming
to Palm Springs for Easter.

And speaking of Palm Springs,

I am at Kendall's horse show today.

I love to watch Kendall
at her horse shows.

It really makes me happy.

I've been watching her ride horses
since she was a little girl.

[Kendall] The first horse
my parents got for me,

I must have been 10 or 11.

I mean, as a mom, I just want
to make my kids happy.

And when they figure out what they love

and what they're interested in,
there's nothing better.

When she was a little girl,

she started to take horseback
riding lessons in the neighborhood,

and I used to say to her,
"Kendall, when you get a horse,

we'll get you a saddle."

[Kendall] It was Christmas morning.

There's a video of it on the internet.

My dad was recording it

as she would everything when we were kids.

I bought this amazing saddle
that she had her eyes on,

and she opened it up, and I said,
"Well, what's outside?"

Go out in the driveway.

[kids screaming]

[Kylie] Wait, Kendall! Wait!

This fabulous woman
was waiting outside with a pony.

-[Kylie] Go, go, go, go.
-[Kendall] Oh, my God!

Oh, my God, I'm gonna cry!

She ran out. She was hysterical crying.

[Rob] It's so cool.

So, of course, then I'm hysterical crying.

[Kendall] It's one of my favorite videos,
like, literally, on the planet.

The horse was probably scared to death,

but it was one of the most memorable
Christmases you could ever imagine.

It was so much fun.

We came here--
I'm trying to be a good mom.

I wanna support my daughter.

She's gonna jump the biggest,

-highest jump she's ever jumped.

Try not to be as obvious.

She thinks we're causing a scene.

I think any horse girl knows
that coming to a jump

at the perfect distance is like

the most fulfilling feeling of all time.

So much of riding is the opportunity

to, like, be outside, be with animals,

but also be, like,
mentally focused on something

to challenge yourself
to, like, overcome another goal

and another obstacle.

It was a little bit of a mess.

I like getting up every morning
and saying, like,

"Alright, I need to do better at this
or I wanna get better at that."

So, I love being a part of it

even at the lowest of levels.

It's the best feeling maybe in the world.

She's doing something
that she's so passionate about.

She loves it so much.

I'm very proud
of my first round with Kinder.

there's like this pocket
of time that I have

right before I get into heavy studying.

You know, we have Easter,
I have Paris coming up.

I still have the Met
and still renovating my house.

So, there's so much going on.

You want me to show you some things?

I wrote, "Welcome to this happy home.

"May God protect our family

and everyone who enters."

Saint wrote, "You're fine as you come."

And I really wanted
to write some special notes

and intentions and prayers
on the walls in every room

and have each kid say a prayer

and something
that meant something to them.

It's says, "Only good vibes."

I want my kids to always remember our home

as such a happy, positive place

that they could always come back to.

"Be... happy."

I love that.

who won that O.J. Simpson auction,

you best believe it was me.

My dad's Bible that he had given
to O.J. was up for auction

and I contacted the attorney
to O.J.'s estate

to offer to buy it without having
to go through the auction.

And those emails allegedly

leaked on TMZ.

"Leaked" on TMZ...

I thought it was a Bible
that my dad bought O.J.

and wrote in it.

It's actually my dad's Bible
with his name inscribed on it.

I didn't know that.

...obviously, to just, like, drive up
more sales for the auction.

I get the game, but, um,

I definitely don't wanna
be used in that situation.

So, we used an alias to bid on the Bible

so that my name
wouldn't be traced back to it.

So, my daddy gave this book
to his best friend

to give him some motivation from Jesus.

What is motivation?

Motivation is when you help

to, like, inspire someone
to, like, do positive things.

Like, I can motivate you
and say, "Everything's gonna be okay.

You're so smart. You've got this."

Right? That's motivation.

Chicago's obviously so little,

and she doesn't really understand
what this means

or really what this even is,

but I still wanted to share
this moment with her.

This is not my dad's writing,
so it must be O.J.'s.

He went to jail.

It's a long story,
I'll tell you when you're older.

I am so excited to give this to Khloé.

She was the one that showed me
this auction first.

So, I think that she deserves
to have this Bible.

You wrote that?

about, I think, our dynamic,

the dynamic that you have
with your children,

and the many phases of that.

-Starting from

did you always dream about being a mother?

Well, yeah. I think
when I was about 16 years old,

all I wanted to do was to have six kids.

It was rare for someone
in their 40s to have children.

It was almost like, ta-- whispered about,

like taboo, like,
[whispering] "She's 40?"

[normal] So, when I got pregnant
with Kendall,

-it was old wives' tales...
-I believe I was...

-...and everything.
-...under the bed one time

you and your ex-husband
were trying, and that was...

-[sighs] I still go to therapy over that.
-[Kris] I'm sorry about that.

But you snuck into my bedroom.

I was playing Hide and Go Seek,
and nobody found me.

You decided to stay there

because it sounded exciting,
and you got an earful.

-♪ Whoo ♪
-[Kris] This is like a therapy session.

Are you gonna make me go through every

-childhood trauma...
-No.

...till you're satisfied?

If Kourtney was here...

-Then yeah. Okay.
-...then that would probably happen.

-But I'm good.
-Alright, good.

Oh, Khloé, forget it. Get over it.

You were the one who climbed
under the bed and stayed there.

You could've interrupted at any moment.

You could've said, "I'm here! I hear you."

But no, you stayed for the whole thing.
The whole thing.

So, whatever that did to your cuckoo mind,

I'm not taking responsibility
for it anymore.

It's all on you now because you stayed.

I have a random question.

Having your six kids,

I hear from so many blended families,

like, it's so hard to integrate
my first set of kids

with the other set of kids,

but even with my dad,
I felt like everything...

I don't know, we've always had
this really strong family dynamic.

I don't think it was methodical
or talked about...

-[Kris] Mm-hmm.
-...but do you have any tips

for people that are trying
to blend families or nervous about that?

[Kris] You know what?

When people get divorced,

I feel like there's always
a cooling-off period

-where people have to find their way...
-Of course. Mm-hmm.

...and come to terms
with what's just happened.

And maybe the fact that
you're not gonna be

with this person forever,

but when you have kids with somebody,

you are with that person.

You're connected forever.

-[Khloé] Of course.
-And that's how I've always lived my life.

And I, you know, would share
everything with your dad.

And then, after we had
our cooling-off period--

is what I like to call it--
we became best friends.

-[Khloé] Mm-hmm.
-And he would come--

Once we moved to Hidden Hills

and Kendall was born
and then Kylie followed,

he'd come walking
in the back door at any time.

"What's for dinner?" You know?

-[Khloé] Yeah.
-[Kris] He'd be there Christmas morning,

he'd be there on your birthdays.

-[Khloé] I remember.
-[Kris] We'd give our parties

and he just wanted to be
a part of every special moment.

I always say I learned how to co-parent

because of the examples that I had.

My mom, my dad, my stepdad,

they all got along really, really well.

So, you and my dad and Bruce were partners

-in raising all of us.
-[Kris] Uh-huh.

And I think all three of you guys did
an incredible job.

-And then my dad...
-[Kris] Thank you.

-[Khloé] ...died in 2003.
-Mm-hmm.

Having that person abruptly taken away,

how did your role change?

I felt a huge shift
and a huge responsibility

because I still depended on him.

He was so present in your lives

and such a big part of our day to day.

He was emotionally available to you guys
in such a big way.

-And he was emotionally available to me.
-[Khloé] Mm-hmm.

He was just the nicest man
in the entire world

and wanted me to be okay always.

When I got remarried,

um, Bruce didn't have a lot of money.

And one of the nicest, most lovely things

that your dad did was
when I was going through this,

your dad used to jokingly harp on me

for my Neiman Marcus bill.

I remember one time he goes,
"Do you need anything?

I know, you know, it's crazy over there."

And I said, "Well, if you wanna
help me pay my Nei--"

And now I had my own Neiman's card,

and I asked him,
"Would you pay the bill this month?"

And he goes, "Sure."

And he paid
my Neiman's card bill that month

and I'll never forget it.

And we laughed about that.

He goes, "If you would've
told me years ago

"that I would still be paying
your Neiman Marcus bill

all these years later..."

And so, we got a good laugh out of that.

But I just think that
you just have to decide

that you wanna kind of hang on

to the love that you once had,
but in just a different way.

And that's what we did.

I love hearing any stories about my dad.

I have literally nothing of my father's,

and when I do get something,
even if it is a verbal story,

I hold onto that with my claws.

it was sentimental to me.
