The temperatures will continue

This is hoodie weather.
This isn't, hey, let's go run
around naked for 21 days.
I'm currently more worried
about the cloud nights,
Than the dangerous animals
out here,
But that might change.

are jackals, aggressive boar,

eurasian gray wolves
Who can run at speeds of up
to 35 miles per hour
And are able to take down prey
as large as an elk.

It's fascinating how many bugs
oats are out here right now.
Luckily, none of them
have bit me yet.
Definitely not in
a jungle this time.
So it's gonna be
a whole different experience.
During the 14 day
fan challenge,
My partner gave up
the morning of day three.
Man:
[ crying ] want to go home.
I want to get out of these
woods.
I want to go home.
Jen: and I had a complete
eleven days by myself.
[ Sobs ] I made it.
But I still feel like I have
something to prove out here.
Make it a little more
than a fan now.
And this 21 day challenge
is that next step for me.
I'm hoping that my partner
sticks around this time.
Since my last challenge,
I learned a ton,
primitive survival skills,
Fire, shelter building.
I've been walking barefoot,
getting really strong,
So I feel like my body is ready
to take on this challenge.
So I was cold in guyana
and that was, hands down,
The hardest part
of that challenge for me.
And here I'm gonna be getting
cold every single night,
And that terrifies me.
But I have this determination
to never give up
In literally anything I do.
So I'm stoked that I have
a further finish line.
I'm gonna make it 21 days.
I don't know what is in store
for me out there.
There's only one way
to find out.
I love a challenge. I love going
outside of my comfort zone.
I'm real big into nature.
Hiking.
Bushcraft, hunting and fishing
and trapping.
Feel at home here.
So I'm positive I can make it.
I just need to remember
who I am,
How much I've overcome.
I was an all-district basketball
player back in high school
My senior year,
me and another guy
We actually went into
a convenience store
And took money
from the register.
You know,
just being stupid kids,
Just one stupid mistake
can cost you so much.
I ended up being locked up
a little over two years
When I got released.
That is when I started taking
longer hiking excursions,
You know, staying off grid
for five, six,
Seven days at a time.
Welcome to my back yard.
That's where my love and my
passion for bushcraft started.
When you talk survival,
One of the sayings is improvise,
adapt, and overcome.
You know, I've had to adapt
so many times in my life
And overcome
so many obstacles.
I don't think there's ever been
Anybody in the history
of "naked and afraid"
That is more ready
to take this on than me.

And I came out here knowing
that it was gonna be cold.
But when you don't have someone

It's like no sleep at all.
My body's not handling this.

I could make a shelter
That's more enclosed
that keeps the fire heat in.
But I just don't feel like I
have the energy to put into it.
I wish I had a partner
still here
Who could like help
make the shelter,

I'm making some modifications
on my camp tonight.
I'm gonna build a trench fire
on one side of my bed.
So I have two fires
along both sides of me.
And I'm hoping that having fires
on both sides will help me out.

On my first 21 adventure.

my first time in mexico,
It's been raining
for four days straight.

anything like this before.

because mentally and physically,
I was just beat down
at that point.
I regretted that decision the
moment I stepped in that boat.
I remember just looking off
and just thinking to myself,
What did I do?
I can't believe I just quit.
I got to right that wrong.
I have to. I have to make it.
Since then,
I have made it my mission
To become
a better survivalist.
My hunting skills
have dramatically increased
And I can fish really good.

mentally and physically.

But the crew has been able
to contain the fire.

the fire is no longer a threat,
But the meadow
where they set up camp

Brandon: the fire
does not deter me at all
From completing the challenge
just set us back a little bit,
But it's nothing
we can't get past.

I mean, it can't get much worse
than what it's already been.

This happened
because the wind

I'm still not been hit
by hunger yet,
But jen's energy level
is pretty low right now.
I feel really bad for her.
We're just gonna have to
figure out a way
To get her more protein
and more food energy in her.
One of the keys to making a
really good spear to fish with
Is you don't want just one
point.
You want it to have
multiple points.
So right now I'm splitting
the wood,
To give it more,
pretty much just,
You know,
more surface area.
A fish would be awesome.

calories per night, shivering.
She's losing more than
a pound per day.
Because of the cold, her body is
also reducing blood flow
To her extremities to help keep
her vital organs warm.
My feet are numb
through the entire night
And into a part of the morning,
and that's not normal.
So I get worried physically
because I don't know
What I'm actually
doing to my body.

I can get the fish to me.
So what I'm trying to do is push
them up in the shallow water.

Even then, they don't

There's still a decent flavor

that I could have finished.

That is a cold breeze.
A lot of work to do

of the trees for firewood.
The branches, I can
pretty much just weave 'em
In and out of the holes

our I need 'em to be.
It's starting to rain.
So I need to get
As much of these gaps
filled in as possible right now,
So I'm just looking for branches
with a lot of leaves on it.

At risk of hypothermia.
If his core body temperature
Doesn't remain above ninety
five degrees.
He could become hypothermic
in less than an hour.
The only thing that
you can do to keep dry is to

more and more on
And get more layers on.
And make it harder
for the rain to reach it.
