14x07 - Valley of the Leopards

Post by bunniefuu »

[kerra] oh, my god.

Big ol' scorpion.

I've never caught
or k*lled a scorpion,

So I'm like a little bit

Nervous to try,
but that sucker is pretty big.

I don't know.
I don't know what to do.

I'm not a hunter.
I don't k*ll things.

I'm going to cry.

Sorry.

[suspenseful music playing]

Oh, god, I'm sorry, I'm sorry,
I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.

Oh, I'm so sorry.

I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry.

[kerra] 21 frickin' days.

[matt] good morning, zambia.

Zambia, africa, here I come.

[kerra] I guess zambia is gonna
be home for the next 21 days.

This tall grass right
here, this is perfect.

Perfect lion
ecosystem right there.

Perfect prowling behavior.

[narrator] landmarked between
angola and mozambique

Lies zambia's luangwa valley,

A merciless land
stretching almost 500 miles.

The thick african brush

Is home to the continent's
most cunning K*llers.

Here, hyenas fight
for every scrap

And territorial crocodiles
patrol the luangwa riverbanks

In search of prey.

Out here, there's
lots of predators.

They're top on the food chain.

Time to get naked.

Aahh! Tall grass, little matt.

[kerra] I am fairly comfortable

Being naked in front
of strangers in general.

Now for the good stuff.

[kerra] but I think
I'm most worried

About areas here where animals

Definitely could be
lurking and hiding,

There's a lot of tall grass,
there's a lot of thick bush.

All right. This is me
in my birthday suit.

[matt speaking]

Getting ready to
meet my partner,

Really looking forward to it.

This is it. I'm about to meet
my partner, I'm really excited.

I have a little bit
of butterflies, so

Yeah, I'm just really excited.

Hey! How are you?

- Hey, another naked person.
- Can I hug you?

Yes. I'm matt.

- I'm kerra. Nice to meet you.
- Very nice to meet you.

- Where are you from?
- Arkansas.

- Awesome. I'm from tennessee.
- Oh, cool.

Yeah, we're neighbors.

Neighbors. Awesome.
Ever done anything like this?

Not quite like this no.

I'm assuming you haven't either.

This is actually my
second challenge.

- Is it? Really? Yeah. Oh, awesome.
- Yeah, I did a same challenge.

- Yay! That's great.
- Yeah.

[matt] my first challenge, I felt like I
definitely got knocked down a peg.

I was unable to secure
any major protein.

Big old fat squirrel.
I'd like to eat him.

Damn it!

It really bothered me

That I was unsuccessful
in catching anything.

So I've been focusing
really heavily on trap making

As well as learning how
to use a recurve bow.

I'm out here with a purpose.

I really want to show people

That somebody from
arkansas can do this.

You know, I completed
the 14-day challenge.

I really want to be
in the first arkansan

To complete a 21-day challenge.

- Cool. We're going to rock this.
- Awesome

[narrator] based on his
skills and experience,

Matt begins the challenge

With a primitive survival
rating or psr of 6.1.

He's not the big,

Tall, fat, hairy man
I was hoping for,

But he's done a
challenge before,

So I'm, I'm really
excited about that.

So lots of survival background?

Ah, yes and no.

I don't have a lot of like
primitive background,

But I spend a lot
of time outdoors.

My background is
in wildlife for work,

- And I travel the world.
- Awesome.

So I think, you know,
I hope I'm helpful.

My degree is
environmental science.

I had a wildlife emphasis,

So I've studied a lot
of animal behavior

And I spent eight
years in the military

Where I had to build bunkers
and dig foxholes and trenches.

What's prepared me the
most for this experience,

It's a combination of everything
that I've done and accomplished.

The reason why I want
to do this challenge

Was I felt like I wasn't
living up to the hype

That all my friends
and family see me as.

[narrator] kerra enters the
challenge with a psr of 6.5.

- No tap outs, right?
- No tap outs.

- No tap outs. Deal.
- Okay.

You want to check out our bags?

- Let's check them out.
- Okay.

[narrator] matt and
kerra have each brought

A personal survival item.

- All right. So I brought my bow.
- Oh, yes.

So hopefully we'll be able
to get some food with this.

Super awesome. Hopefully,
he's good at using it,

I'm sure he is.

I'm not a hunter
and I'm not a fisher.

Not because I don't think that

It's wrong to do
that kind of stuff,

I just don't think I have it
in my heart to k*ll an animal.

I have my blade.

Very nice.

[narrator] and they've been
given a pot for boiling water

And a fire starter as
the dense vegetation

And abundance of predators

Make it essential to
get fire before nightfall.

We are, looks like
we're right here.

Right.

And we've got some danger areas

With leopards, hippos,

- Lions and crocodiles.
- Lions and crocodiles. Mm-hmm.

- Yeah. Goodness!
- It looks like we should just probably make our way,

- I guess, to water.
- That looks like fresh water.

Yeah, water and food source
right there. That's a good spot.

- All right. Get started.
- Let's go.

All right.

[matt] as dense as this is,

There could be a
lion or a leopard or...

- [kerra] yeah.
- Something hanging out

-In a tree, -yeah.

100 yards away and
we'd never see them.

[kerra] no, for sure.

[narrator] the
seven-foot tall grass

Provides excellent
cover for the felines

That are in the luangwa valley,

The nickname
valley of the leopard

[leopard growling]
because it has

The largest concentration
of leopards in all of africa.

Reaching speeds of
up to 36 miles per hour,

Leopards' muscular hind
legs and powerful jaws

Allow them to take down
prey three times their size.

[kerra] I mean, literally
could be something like

[matt] right here.

[kerra] just sitting
in here. I know, yeah!

Clapping also keeps
those animals away. So just.

- Does it?
- Yeah.

[clapping]

Yeah, we can clap.
Hoop and holler.

- [clapping]
- nice.

Definitely glad
you know this stuff.

[kerra laughing]

[matt] kerra seems real nice,
extremely knowledgeable.

Having somebody that's familiar
with the animals down here

Is gonna be an
absolute ace in the hole.

- [matt] out of curiosity.
- [kerra] mm-hmm.

And I only say this because it
happened on my last challenge.

- Uh-huh.
- You know, not to throw

Fecal material in the
water source, right?

- Of course.
- Okay, that's cool.

On my last challenge, my
partner made some mistakes.

I just sharted.

She just [bleep] put
it in our water source.

- That's disgusting.
- I dig a well.

Yeah, wasn't fun,
but we made it.

- We got through it.
- Yeah. Good.

I'm pretty easy
to get along with.

- I like to think I am.
- That's good.

- You seem to, so far.
- So far.

- So far.
- [chuckles]

[matt] getting into all this
seems more like a dry riverbed.

[kerra] yeah.

[matt] definitely need to keep
an eye out for some snakes.

I see water, matt.

- Water?
- Water.

Water. Water!

Oh. Do you know what
probably lives in this water?

Big old crocodiles.

If we're careful, this
would be a good little area

To come get water
at if we needed to.

[kerra] mm-hmm. What
would be your ideal spot?

[matt] as much natural
protection as possible.

Yeah.

Hopefully a lot of
resources around

Within, at least,
somewhat of a distance.

- Yeah.
- Like, I kind of like

- This little area right here.
- I do too.

[matt] you know, it's got
natural coverage overhead.

Yeah. I think we're far
enough from the water source

Where we're not like on top of any
animals coming in at night trying to drink.

We definitely gotta get
protection around us,

So I'll start dragging stuff in.

[matt] right now, we
want to build a shelter

That surrounds us.

It looks as uninviting
as possible.

My goal is to get as
many thorny sticks

Around our shelter as we can.

It could double as firewood
if we get cold at night.

Nice. Nicely done.

What a good little
bush husband you are.

Me and my partner
are getting along great.

He's just a good old
southern boy from arkansas.

He's very polite.
He's very respectful.

Doing all right?

[matt] the sun is
falling real quick.

As of right now,
light's fading fast,

We only got maybe a
couple more hours of day light.

All right. I'm going to
try to get some water.

Just gonna wait for a little bit

And see if there's
any drag marks.

[kerra speaking]

We have to really watch
out for crocodiles in this river.

Since this is our water source,
we have to be extra vigilant

And to make sure that
before we get our water,

We look and we listen
and we make sure

That there's no friends
lurking in the water

Trying to, trying to eat us.

How's that fire coming?

I don't know. I'm struggling.

So you try and make it more
of like a bird's nest shape.

[matt] yeah, give it a shot?

[kerra] yeah. Okay.

Damn, it's getting hot.

Come on, you son of a b*tch.

Here we go.

[matt] great job.

[kerra] oh, thanks,
man. Appreciate that.

[matt] we currently
have fire, shelter, water.

Feels pretty good
to be set like this.

[kerra] this is our
first pot of water.

- [matt] really, really hot.
- [kerra] really hot still, damn!

I just put my finger in it.

[matt speaking]

- That's so gross.
- [matt laughing].

Sorry, ashley.

Oh, so gross.

[matt] scowl, it's [bleep] cold.

[matt speaking]

You're actually, like, frozen.

You're so cold, it
hurts to even like move.

It [bleep] freezing.

[sighs]

Something is definitely
moving out there.

[matt speaking]

[suspense music]

It was an awful
night in the frigid cold.

Matt didn't sleep,
hardly at all.

Last night was very rough.

It was extremely cold.

Something came walking by.

[kerra] definitely concerned
about the predators in the area,

But right now,

We gotta get our
evenings under control.

Otherwise, we're going to be,

It's gonna be a long 21 days.

So let's make our rock
wall our priority today.

[matt] I agree.

I'm gonna use
this mud for mortar.

Our plan right now is
to build a nice rock ring,

Something with
a reflecting wall.

What do you think?

This last load up
the hill for a moment?

Sure.

[matt] the human body can go
approximately three days without water.

It can go approximately
21 days without food,

But one more night in
hypothermic temperatures,

We're done, that's, you're over.

[kerra] tada!

[matt] very nice.

Hopefully, this will make our
evenings a little bit warmer.

- [matt] toasty.
- Well, toasty.

[kerra speaking]

[matt speaking]

[matt] so last night
was pretty nice.

Rock wall helped.

I think it made a
substantial difference.

For sure. I definitely am
starting to feel hungry.

[matt] mm-hmm.

We should maybe
try fishing today.

You wanna try the
little lagoon area?

[kerra] mm-hmm.

I've got this very
thorny spiky branch,

And I am going to use it
to try to catch some catfish

In this gully here.

This is my first time. I
have never done this before.

Rake and pull method. Ow!

Basically you just
take the branch

And you just slam
it into the water

And then you drag
really hard. Damn it!

And hopefully the thorns,

I mean, they're
really, really sharp,

Will sink into the
skin of the catfish

And hopefully, we'll have
some breakfast and lunch

Because we haven't
had any of that.

Damn!

[birds chirping]

There's a cat. There's
a cat right there.

[matt] holy [bleep]

[matt speaking]

It is concerning.
They know we're here,

They know our presence,

So we really need to make
sure to keep a constant eye out.

[kerra] matt, that
was a epic fail.

[matt] yeah.

I saw a cat back there
about 150 yards out.

- Walking?
- Yeah.

This is exactly why
we need a secure boma

And hot fires because, you know,

We're definitely not at the
top of the food chain right now.

[both speaking]

[kerra clapping]

[kerra] go! Get outta here.

Something outside,
rustling around.

[matt speaking]

[kerra clapping]

[kerra] go!

Mmm.

Little cat prints.

So this is right next
to our camp site.

Thank god our boma is so secure.

This is, I mean,
obviously very fresh

Because it wasn't here
yesterday afternoon,

Which is concerning.

Just need to make sure
that we don't get complacent.

Complacency kills.

[matt] day five without protein.

There's a duiker call.

I learned duiker is a
small deer-like animal.

I'm going to see if I can
grab some mopane leaves.

Maybe I can catch one off guard
coming out to get some water.

[kerra] matt is
supposed to be a hunter.

I don't know the first
thing about hunting.

I don't even know if I
could even sh**t an animal

With a bow and arrow,

So I'm really relying
on matt's skills there.

It's like a legume tree.

There's little
beans inside of it

That you can cook off and eat.

They're all brown right now, so
they're probably not 100% ripe,

So they'll probably turn green

When they're fully
ready to be eaten.

But at this point, even
if it's not completely ripe,

It's going to be worth it

Because we need
the calories for sure.

[making duiker sound]

Can't see anything.

Much harder than I expected.

[kerra] there he is.

[matt] didn't hear
or see anything.

[kerra] I found all these
beans, but they're not ripe.

Gooey.

It'll be better when
they ripen up. Yeah.

[kerra chuckles]

It's a little, it's got a punch.

[matt] my partner
did find some beans,

Even though they're very acidic,
really providing for our team,

And I appreciate that.
She is pulling her weight.

I'm a little concerned that
I'm not pulling my weight

To match hers, but
I'm doing the best I can.

[kerra] all right.

Oh, my god.

Big ol' scorpion.

[narrator] this thick-tailed
scorpion is highly venomous

And attacks by driving
its razor sharp stinger

Deep into its prey.

I've never caught
or k*lled a scorpion,

So I'm like a little bit

Nervous to try,

But that sucker is pretty big.

And I'm sure matt would be
super excited to have that guy.

I don't know. I don't
know what to do.

I'm not a hunter,
I don't k*ll things.

Oh, my god. My heart is beating
like a million miles an hour.

Ooh, I'm going to cry.

Oh, I'm sorry.

No, no, no, no, no, no!

Ooh, I'm going to cry.

Oh, I'm sorry.

Oh, god! I'm sorry, I'm
sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.

Ooh, I'm so sorry.

Ooh, you're still
alive. What do I do?

Ooh, I'm so sorry.

I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.

I have never k*lled
anything intentionally,

And it is really
breaking my heart.

But this was an opportunity
that I couldn't just pass up.

I'm so sorry.

Matt will be really
happy, I hope.

Okay. Hey, I brought
you something.

- You all right.
- [kerra] yeah, I'll be fine.

- Wow!
- I k*lled a scorpion for you.

- That's a big damn scorpion.
- Yeah.

But I think he's still alive. I
don't know. He keeps moving.

- [matt] that's just nerves.
- [kerra] okay.

Wanna cook him up?

[kerra] I don't want to.

- You can cook him.
- Struggling?

Yeah. Will you just take him?

Yes. Set him right
there, I'll take care of him.

[matt] first time you
ever k*ll anything?

Yeah.

[matt] it's not
fun at all. Sorry.

This is the first time she's
intentionally took a life.

I understand how hard it is.

You gonna be okay?

[kerra] yeah, I'll be fine.

[matt] I am telling
you, you are a badass.

Oh, stop.

[matt] seriously, I
ain't blowing smoke,

I ain't blowing
sunshine up your a*s.

You legitimately
are a badass partner.

I would do a 40-day
with you anytime.

Oh, thanks, man.

I certainly appreciate you.

[matt] again, she provided some
protein that's very appreciated.

I really hope I'll be
able to do the same.

- Very good.
- Really?

Very good. A hint of crab meat.

[kerra] really?

Yep.

That's not bad.

I'm going to call it delicious.

[matt] feeling the first bite

And tasting the first
little bit of protein,

You could feel just the
smallest amount of protein

Going into your system.

You know, the only thing
that at the end of it was more,

You know, we need more.

[kerra] slow is smooth
and smooth is fast.

[matt] mm-hmm.

[kerra] that scorpion was just
a fraction amount of calories.

We're pretty desperate.

I can definitely feel the
lag in my response time

And my thought process,
so we're gonna go catfishing.

I'm sure there's
something in here.

Bet you, there's a
bunch of little ones.

[water splashing]

[matt] by splashing around,

Stirring the mud
up in the bottom

Usually will bring
things to the surface.

[water splashing]

I mean, I don't think
there's anything in there.

[kerra] I am frustrated.

Sun is beating down
on us, it's super hot

And I am just
over it at this point.

Well, what do you want to do?

Want to come out of
the sun for a minute.

No. I'm just
frustrated. That's all.

Just remember not
to take it out on me.

I'm only trying to help.

[kerra] I'm thinking,
matt, being this hunter

Needs to start going
out and getting that food

Because this is obviously
not an answer for us

That's sustainable.

[birds chirping]

[playing flue leaf]

[birds chirping]

[matt speaking]

[birds chirping]

[deer bleating]

I just missed a
huge protein source.

Just sick to my
stomach right now,

Just sick.

There's something got hit.

Relatively fresh
blood right there.

And that's a shot just under it.

[matt speaking]

[birds chirping]

How was your hunt?

I shot a little low

And basically
probably nicked his foot.

Yeah.

I'm having such a hard
time getting some food,

So it's tough.

I could see, matt, like
visibly kind of down,

[kerra] I think maybe it's
weighing heavy on him

That he's the sole provider
for any kind of meat.

I'm not going to discourage him.

It is what it is.

It's a really tough
area to hunt in.

So, you know, he's doing
more than what I could.

[kerra] that's still progress.

That's more than
you've done animal-wise

Since we've been out here and...

Yeah, thank you.
Sorry, I didn't get it.

Well, don't be down on yourself.

[deer bleating]

[matt] I'm gonna
obtain some protein

Somehow, some way,
I'm gonna figure this out.

I don't know.

[making duiker sound]

[bleep]

[birds chirping]

There's a big a*s
nest in that tree.

It looks like a big old
eagle's nest, to be honest.

You definitely could climb it,

There's some big
fat eggs in there.

[matt speaking]

Only thing I know to do
is start pulling this apart.

Lot of birds [bleep],
whole lot of birds [bleep].

Yeah.

Bad news, darling.

Nothing?

Nada.

Dang.

[birds chirping]

Getting lightheaded often.

[kerra] today, I am just

Planning on collecting
enough firewood

To get us through the evening
and hopefully for tomorrow.

Not eating is definitely

Taking a huge toll on my energy,

I am out of breath.

I'm trying really hard
to, like, keep it together.

[frogs croaking]

All right, night 14, here we go.

I am officially in
uncharted territory.

I have surpassed my
fan challenge time frame.

Pretty exciting.

I'm proud of you. A good job.

Hopefully, I'm making
arkansas proud.

[frogs croaking]

Just one foot.

Just one foot, then
the other. [exhales]

[kerra speaking]

Marula.

[narrator] marula is a
small, plum sized fruit

High in vitamin c,

But when consumed
unripe, it can be acidic.

I think I see another
one over here.

Oh yeah, that's a couple.

Oh, there's another one,
another one out there.

[kerra] I read about this
fruit during my research.

I'm not sure if
it's ripe yet or not.

I'm hoping it is, but it's
such a morale booster.

I'm super excited
that I found it.

It truly is just a
golden nugget.

How'd it go?

Well, nothing's new.

Uh, huh.

How was your day?

I found all these marula fruit.

They are very acidic?

Well, yeah, it's like
eating a lime, almost.

There's not much meat

In comparison to the
pit, to the actual fruit itself.

So it's not a lot
of food, but I...

It'll will do, I guess.

Oh, my stomach, I
don't feel so good.

You okay?

Oh, my stomach's rumbling. Damn!

[groaning]

[kerra] my stomach hurts.

I'm really tired.

[sobbing]

My partner seems to have trouble

Stomaching the marula fruit.

It hasn't affected me so far,

But I'm getting really
worried about my partner.

I'll be more than happy
to do the work today.

Appreciate it.

I'm happy to do it.

[birds chirping]

I...

Marula fruit is
not sitting well.

Walking through the bush here,

I really hope you all
understand how tall this grass is.

I'm not very tall,
but I'm telling you.

How tall are you?

- 5' 6".
- You're not 5' 6".

- What it says at the dmv.
- [kerra] there's no...

- There's no way.
- Okay.

I'm 5' 8".

Well, you're awful tall.

That's what it
says on my license.

- That's what they said...
- Who gave the dmv.

- I must've been wearing boots.
- You must have been.

[inhales, exhales]

Little nauseous.
My stomach hurts.

[exhales]

Every time I burp, I
burp the taste of marula

And it makes me want to puke.

I can lay down. I can
watch my stomach move

Because it's not sitting
well with the marula.

Brush some charcoal
and eat little bits of it.

Just suck on it like a candy.

It'll help neutralize the
gas in your stomach.

Matt's being really
sweet and supportive.

You know, he's a
natural caretaker.

You know, he is
ready to make sure

That I am as comfortable
as possible at all times,

And I'm super grateful

That he was willing to
go and do that for me.

[matt speaking]

Thanks.

[narrator] in the past 19 days,

Kerra and matt have consumed
as little as 500 calories each,

Which is less than the
average person consumes

In one meal.

I'm gonna blow some bowls in it.

Cool it for you.

[bubbling sound]

It's drinkable.

And let's see if I can...
Find something to eat.

At this point, it's kind
of a make or break.

[matt] being unsuccessful
as a hunter is disappointing.

You know, I really came
out here fully expecting

To get something big, but
that just hasn't happened.

Oh, there's a snake.

[matt speaking]

[bleep]

Gotcha.

[matt speaking]

Whoo! Yes!

This about to become dinner.

Whoo! Sweet victory.

This snake is
absolutely awesome.

I've been trying so hard

To provide some kind
of a large meat source

For my partner and myself.

It feels absolutely amazing.

Hey, partner?

What you say partner?
You eat snake?

[kerra] do I eat snake?
Did you k*ll one?

Shut up. Dang, dude.

[kerra] this is
a stiletto snake,

Oh, still moving,
which is gross.

It's much needed

And we really
needed the protein.

So thanks to matt for
doing the dirty work.

Gotcha. Gotcha.

Mmm.

I'm proud of you. Good job.

Thank you so much.

Cheers!

Not bad.

I just feel...

Couldn't do anything. It's
not a fruit, it's not a bean.

Oh, thank you, matt.

Indeed, indeed.
Thank you very much.

Yeah.

It's nice going to bed

With some protein
in our stomachs.

[birds chirping]

All right. She
promised we'd do it.

So on the count of three.

One, two, three,
good morning, zambia.

Good morning, zambia.

Hooh! Little brisk.

Here we go. Taillights.

[kerra exhales]

All right.

So here we are.

Looks like we just head
up just the beach line

And then cut off into the bush.

- Looks like...
- It's gonna be a heck of a walk.

Suck it up, buttercup.

- It is about to get real.
- Yep.

All these rocks are not fun.

Don't think about it.

Your feet are numb.
You cannot feel.

[narrator] matt and kerra
face a perilous 6.5 mile trek

Along the razor sharp
banks of the zambezi river.

Ten-foot crocs are
a constant menace

In the murky waters

And can suddenly
dart out and attack

At speeds of up to
20 miles per hour.

Once they reach
the thorny shrub land

And thick vegetation,

They'll have to watch out
for venomous puff adders

And leopards who lay in wait.

This is rough.

Just don't walk too close
to that water right there

Because it looks
like it's a good...

- m*rder puddle?
- Yeah.

Yeah.

[matt] it's starting to get hot,

We need to get
up into the canopy.

[kerra] let's get to it.

- Big thorn tree on your right.
- Love that, love that.

This is prime snake
and leopard territory,

For sure.

Thorn bush on
your right and left.

I'm just gonna stop saying
that because they're everywhere.

There's no place like home.
There's no place like home.

Yeah. Just because
your feet are red and sore

Doesn't the they're
ruby slippers.

[kerra] we are...

- Probably halfway through it.
- [kerra] through it.

We're running on low fumes

And water would be nice.

[matt] it's getting
hot in the canopy.

[kerra] yeah. Ow, ow, ow.

Ow, ow.

Oh, I'm ready to
be out of this [bleep].

[matt] at this point, there's
only one way out, out.

[matt exhales]

My feet are hurting real bad.

I hear something.

- [kerra] oh, thank god.
- I hear a motor.

[kerra] ow, ow.

This sounds close.
Oh, I think I see a road.

- [kerra] yeah?
- I think I see a road.

I see a truck. I
see a truck. Yes.

- Yeah!
- Oh!

- All right.
- Good job.

[matt exhales]

Ooh!

- We did it.
- Yeah, we do.

Here we go.

- Ahhh.
- Whoo-hoo

[matt] having gone
through a 14-day challenge,

It makes this joy

Of completing a 21-day challenge

Just that much sweeter,

Even though I wasn't
the most proficient hunter,

I did the best I could.

Now, I'm that one step
closer to being the survivalist

Like the ones I've watched on tv

And hope my home-state's proud.

Ah!

Can't wait for some water.

[narrator] after surviving
21 days in zambia, africa,

Matt lost a total of 23 pounds.

His psr rises
from a 6.1 to a 6.8.

I'm like full of
happiness and joy

And pain and exhaustion.

Just all the things
rolled into one.

I definitely think
this challenge has

Made me kind of a
better version of myself.

[kerra] I think coming out
here was a nice reminder

That I can, I can do
some hard [bleep]

It feels really great

To be crossing the
finish line with matt.

He was really patient with
me and he was very kind

I was never gonna leave him.

I don't think he was
ever going to leave me,

Just really proud of us.
He was a great partner.

[narrator] kerra dropped
a total of 15 pounds.

Her psr rises
from a 6.6 to a 6.8.

I'm like crying for joy.

[laughs]

[matt] I'm very grateful to
have been paired with kerra.

She definitely
looked out for me.

I tried my best
to look out for her.

I think that we really
worked well together.

Couldn't have done without you.

Couldn't have done it
without you.

Good bye, zambia.
