That's right. The greatest
competition ever assembled is back.

we're taking what worked the
first time and giving you more.

the winning team took home $100,000.

All right, so I'm back with the
best lego builders in the country,

and I want to kick
this season off right.

Not with some big,
over the top spectacle. No.

Welcome to the lego day parade.

Today, you're building your very
own float that best represents you.

Show us your personality,
your style,

and who you are as lego artists.

Moto: We're mechanical engineers.
My first thought is it's a parade float.

We need bright colors. How are
we going to make those colors work?

- What's the composition?
- What do you think we should make?

Uh...

Now look,
I'm not judging this competition. No.

That is a job for my
two favorite lego experts,

our brickmasters amy and jamie.

- Brickmaster amy and jamie are here. This is so cool.
- And jamie.

Welcome back, brickmasters.

We have a whole new group
of people here for you to judge.

I wish I was getting paid to
judge people. I do it for free.

All right, so, guys, one of these 12
teams will be our next lego masters,

so what do they have
to do to get there?

We are looking
for your creativity.

We're looking for
your storytelling.

We want to see you bring your personality
into every model that you build.

And of course,
don't forget the technical abilities.

Looking at today's challenge,
parades are meant to be fun,

so we're looking for
you to make a spectacle

and show us why you deserve
your place in the competition.

And we want to see movement.

It's really important that you bring
your model to life through movement,

and that'll really show us who
are the real masters of motion.

- Wow. Like, right out of the gate motion. Yeah.
- Whoo. Feeling nervous.

You've got 14 hours
to complete your build.

- Like, that's what we grew up with.

Thinking about it,
where's the motion going to come in?

The clock is what's going
to give us the motion.

- That's true.
- So the theme of this season is bigger and better.

- Yes.
- Do you think that we're on the right track here?

Clearly, the caliber of
builders this year is really high.

I think some of these builders,
having seen the first season,

know they've got
to up their game.

These are the people
who are watching at home

who are saying,
"I can do that better."

- exactly.
- One of my favorite things about lego

is seeing builders key in those
first few moments and thinking like,

"what are we gonna do?
What are we gonna build?"

that's what I'm excited about.

What if we did a sea serpent?

Okay, what about having,
like, a lot of paint cans?

So, natalie and I,
we are both moms.

Natalie: And we're
taking our diy hobby

and, like, applying it to lego.

Michelle: So for our float,
color-splosion,

we're gonna build a
tower of paint cans.

Something has to move,
so what are we gonna make move?

We're thinking we can make one of
our lids on our paint cans spin around.

You need to have it,
like, big and colorful.

Okay,
you need me to remove dots like these?

- What's going on?

- You're syreeta.
- Yes. This is randall.

What are you guys
doing for your float?

What we're doing is illustrating the journey
through the four elements of hip-hop.

- Okay.
- Because that's how we originally came together.

Syreeta and I run a business.

We put out limited
edition lego pieces

that focus on hip-hop culture.

Syreeta: Randall is
the total opposite of me.

It's a beautiful pull/push
kind of relationship.

It adds up and it makes sense.

This float has to
embody us as a team,

and so hip-hop is
absolutely a no-brainer.

And you know how to break-dance,
right, will?

- Really well.
- You were, like, there when hip-hop was born.

- Like, we should probably thank you. Right?
- I was right there.

I was right there. By there I
mean canada. But, yes, I was there.

- That's what I'm thinking.
- This is really, really fun.

- I'm really excited for you guys.

That is the chubbiest, fluffiest
looking sheep I think I've ever seen.

Well, I mean,
if I can get it together.

- Maria: My name is maria.
- Philip: My name is philip,

and we've been
married for 16 years.

Maria: We live in grand
rapids in the suburbs

and we have two
beautiful children.

We're gonna be the unassuming
couple that's gonna come in

and rock their world, and we're gonna
show them what we're capable of doing.

We may be cute,
but we're fierce.

Philip and maria,
great to see you guys.

I see you've already started building,
so you must have some ideas in place.

- We do, yeah.
- For our parade float, we're building a bedtime story

about little bo peep who
is launching her sheep

over a little boy
who can't sleep.

How does this actually
tie into you and your story?

I love reading to my kids.

- You do all the voices for all the characters.
- Yes, I do.

This sounds so fun and I love that you've
already started to think about it as a float.

What I would recommend though is remember
the audience is usually right on the side.

You're on the street level and you're
looking up at this larger than life float,

but making sure that it all goes
vertical and that it really pops out

- that people on the side can really see it.
- Okay.

I'm gonna get my
cardio workout in today.

Jack: I'm jack. This is
my younger sister dawn.

I have been riding motorcycles
since I was 21-years-old.

I've been playing with lego longer than
any of the other teams have been alive.

I'm sure there's one or two of
the other teams that are gonna say,

"what are these old
folks doing here?"

- we're here to win it.
- That's right. I think we're gonna win it.

- Are you guys excited to be here? Yeah?
- Oh, yeah. You have no idea.

Am I overdressed
because I've got sleeves on?

- I feel like I need to go.
- You might be. Here, let me rip those right off.

You guys look so cool
and I look like such a nerd.

On a different note,
we have the first challenge here,

which is the parade float.
What are we getting into here?

Dawn: We're going to build a
butterfly that has a big wingspan.

We want the wings to move,
so we've got our motion.

- We're doing it in memory of our great niece.
- Of your great niece?

- Beautiful.
- Jack: She loved butterflies.

- Dawn: She did, yeah.
- We lost her in November.

- Will: Oh, I'm sorry.
- Jack: 16-years-old.

- Battled all her life.
- Yeah, so we wear our kelsey bracelets in her honor.

I love that. And you guys are
not gonna make me cry, so...

- I will. I'll cry for you.
- Yeah.

That's such a lovely story that
you guys are doing this to honor...

To honor kelsey and
that you're wearing those.

And how cool is that to be able to
really celebrate someone you loved?

She would have loved this. Oh,

She'd have loved it,
definitely, yeah.

They're gonna be really blown
out of the water with this one.

The reason why our parents
came here to the united states

is obviously for a

My and my brother
are both sushi chefs.

There's just so many
things you can do with sushi.

And with lego it's the same thing,
right?

You're dealing with color,
you're dealing with precision.

And then you gotta
tell a story with it.

For our float,
we're building soaring dragons.

A blue one will represent me,

and a red one will
represent my brother.

The dragons will be flying
side by side through the clouds.

You know, dragons are... you see
that all the time in chinese festivals.

I'm gonna do that and I'm
gonna put my own twist into it.

- Nerves are getting to me.

What are we talking about here?

We are doing sibling storytime.

We're going to see our mom
reading us a bedtime story

and out prince character
hanging on to rapunzel's hair

and tugging her down.

you guys are reliving your childhood?

It's just such a big part
of us growing up together

and being brother and sister,
and he was always a really nice brother.

He never bullied me or anything.

Look, you guys are so nice.

And this... you know,

We're back! So, guys, I kinda forget
things during the commercial breaks,

and what they like to do
in these kinds of programs

is remind the audience
what we're doing here.

So, what are we doing here?

This challenge is all about making
parade floats for the lego day parade

and for the teams to really
showcase their personality

and unique building
style and make their mark.

- But with motion.
- But with motion.

You know what? It's kind of
just jiggering back and forth.

- Is that a problem or a feature?
- I don't know.

- Yeah, we don't want that.
- No.

Yay! It's working.

So we want a bunch of
waves kind of splashing.

- My name is steven.
- And I'm mark, and we are brothers.

Almost level.

We've had a decade
long stint at building

at a very high and
competitive level.

I think this is
gonna be really cool.

My brother and I
are here to win big,

build big,
and the other teams had better watch out.

Steven and mark,

Talk to me a little bit about
your lego day parade float.

For the lego day parade,
we are going to create the world serpent

chasing a viking ship
across the northern sea.

Our ancestors were vikings, and that's
something we take a little bit of pride in.

Being honest,
what did you think of season one?

- Loved it.
- It was fun, it was exciting.

- And some familiar faces, too.
- Some familiar faces?

- We know tyler.
- Will: Did you build a lot with tyler?

We got to build a little bit
live with him at a convention,

- and it was a team event.
- And we won.

You guys beat tyler,
our winner from season one?

- Yes.
- Every other team just heard that and they're all like,

"great."

we gotta, like, get a move on.

- I'm susan.
- And I'm jen, and we're from utah.

- I have six kids.
- And I have two kids.

Are we soccer moms?
No. We're lego moms.

Our float is "becoming."

the swan emerging from
the egg represents us.

Every day as moms, we are constantly
evolving, adapting, and improving.

And now we're here stepping out into
the world to take our place in the sun.

And that's what this
symbolizes for us.

These motors are,
like, k*lling us here.

- Hello. How are you guys doing?
- Hi.

It looks fantastic. I'm already seeing
some gorgeous colors on those wings.

We're creating a butterfly.
Hopefully the wings will flap.

We know it's a matter
of gearing at this point.

I want to see you succeed with this,
so you might need to have a plan b.

- Right, right.
- If you can't get the wings to fully work,

is there another motion
that you can add that...

We can spin it around or
something along that line.

I'm not gonna lie to you. I
don't know how to turn this off.

We are the only father-son team.

We live in northern michigan,
we love all four seasons,

so I want to create something that's
going to represent our hometown.

So our parade float is going to
be the four seasons of michigan.

However you want to do
that. I need to work on this,

or otherwise we're going
to be running out of time.

If you come to chicago, you better
eat a chicago hot dog the right way.

I'm dave. I'm from chicago.

I'm richard. I'm from brooklyn,
new york.

We've been building just
a short amount of time,

but we are working
like a well-oiled machine.

- Now what's the right way?
- What's the right way?

No ketchup. You better not
put any ketchup on that hot dog.

As soon as we got this challenge,
right away we're thinking about the icons

of new york and chicago, and I think,
"yes. Hot dog is chicago."

what's the new york
equivalent? Of course it's pizza.

This is a mouthful of a float.

- Hello there, moto and paras.
- Hi there.

I can see you've got some
robots in action there already.

We're both engineers
and we're both dads,

so it made sense to
build two dad robots.

One with a little girl
and one with a little boy.

How are you going to incorporate
some playful motion into your build?

We're moving a gearbox
into the chest cavity

so we can get the
torso to move this way.

He's got a gearbox designed
to get the arms to move this way.

And then we're gonna do one more
mechanism to get the head to go this way.

Three motions are a lot. I would
recommend that you prioritize.

Think what's going to bring
the real wow factor to your build.

- We'll do that.

It's just a simple fact. Everybody needs
that brick, and we need it especially.

For our first challenge,
it's a parade float.

We need to incorporate motion,
and on top of that,

it has to speak to our
personal experience.

Ooh, okay, that's terrifying.

- Yeah, your eye isn't though.

Moto: We're still trying
to get a robot to move

back and forth with the motors,

but time's getting
tight at this point.

- I'm getting a bit concerned.

If it wasn't go-time before,

The name of our float
is a lifelong expedition.

It's based off our lives
as lego builders and twins.

Winning "lego
masters" would truly be

the culmination of so
many years of building.

It's proof that we know what
we're doing and we're good at it.

- Okay, how we doing on time management?
- Um, poor.

I'm used to being able to take a
long time and do massive builds.

Jen, susan,
what is it that you're trying to build now?

Our parade float
consists of a carriage,

so we'll have four
wheels that will be moving.

The egg's gonna open up,
and this bird's wings are gonna pull out.

Now that is amazingly ambitious.

It is ambitious.

When you're feeling
the time crunch,

you might want to rethink
some of the complexities.

Brickmaster jamie is right. If
we're gonna finish this build in time,

we've got to cut
some things down.

Are you thinking maybe we need
to lose the mechanism for the bird

and just have the bird,
like... Maybe make the bird bigger.

- And just have it be our statue.

We met five years ago doing interior
design and construction stuff for fun.

It's typically a
male-dominated area.

Yeah. You guys could just go in
anywhere and, like, do anybody's job.

You're like, "yeah,
I could do that."

I was thinking you might need a co-host,
right?

See? Co-host. That
happened so quickly.

"listen,
guys. Welcome to 'lego masters.'"

I'm fired?

And just let her know she

So I get your paycheck then?

Yeah. It turns out,
I don't get a paycheck.

Yeah. I'm just doing
this for the love of lego.

- Okay. They pay you in bricks?
- They pay me in bricks...

We should just
combine that and leave it.

Don't even try the back wheels.

- All righty, I can do that.

make the legs move.

We are just putting bricks

and movement into their floats.

this opportunity pass by.

We're chinese brothers and
dragons always evoke power,

majesty, and in chinese culture,

I mean my vivid and distinct personality.

which is the blue dragon,

which is nuance and subtlety.

Ever since we've been young,

we've always been pushing
and pulling each other.

But now we've finally
been able to run together.

You wanted to show us that

given us a float that is all about motion.

I think we're able
to just demonstrate

what we have to
give and what we are.

journey through the elements.

Randall and I are passionate
about hip-hop culture,

so in our build,
we have artists tagging up,

the dj saying, "all right,
y'all, I hope y'all ready.

syreeta: Break-dancers doing
crazy moves and cheering.

Both: Oh!

I could hear your passion
when you were telling the story,

and I can feel the
passion in the build as well.

It's really bold and I love your
use of a lot of colors as well.

Jamie: The thing is
with your movement.

I'm wondering how many
people are actually seeing it

as a record player
that's moving.

It's just on a very
horizontal surface,

so it's really hard for
people on the street to see.

You guys did a great job.

finally turning the corner

Paras: I hope the
head doesn't fall off.

Our build is called present day.

Moto and I,
we're both engineers.

We both have children.

Moto: And to celebrate that,
we made two parent robots

and two children robots.

You've got the father-son relationship,
which is super cute.

But I would have loved
just to see a little bit more

of the story coming through here

and the interaction between
the robots and the kids,

and I think that could have
really taken it to another level.

Susan and jen's float
is coming up next.

Our parade float
is titled "becoming."

the carriage
represents the journey

and the challenges
that we've been on.

We're both moms constantly
reinventing ourselves,

and so the swan that comes out
of the egg is our transformation.

Brickmasters,

I think this all came together
in about an hour or two.

- Right.
- And having the two wheels not connected,

you ran out of time, I get it.

But keep it simple. And then
make sure that, you know,

if you have one wheel moving,
that the other one's going

just so you don't get
broken from the fantasy.

I think our heads are

And if we end up going home in the very
first challenge, I'm gonna be heartbroken.

All right,
the twins caleb and jacob are up.

The name of our float
is "a lifelong expedition."

everything you see on the float
represents a part of our lives.

The story is about two explorers on a
mission to get a coveted diamond ring

to the lego temple to
restore peace to the land.

A diabolical shuttering
camera attacks the explorers.

- To escape, the heroes... - Us.

Cross the river only to be met by a
sneaky sneaker that tries to crush them.

But then a giant calculator appears
and asks, "what is the secret code?"

the explorers
karate kick "1001."

- both: Our birthday.
- And a diamond ring is revealed.

They take the ring
to the lego temple...

Restoring the
land to all its glory.

The ring in this story is
actually an engagement ring,

similar to which I just
presented to my new fiancée

- just a few months ago.
- Hey, congrats.

- Thank you.
- There's something so fabulous

about the theatrics.

Like,
I feel like you're taking me on journey

on this rickety little boat.

It's fun, it's playful,

and that is what
a float is all about.

- Caleb and jacob, thank you so much.
- Thank you.

We have steven
and mark's float next.

This is the world serpent.

A huge, epic,
eye-catching monster.

And we have this
band of viking warriors.

They're a little...
What's the word?

- Scared?
- Yeah, yeah, that's...

This is very special to us
because we have viking ancestry.

And so it was very neat
to kind of tap into that.

It is just oozing with
fun building techniques.

You're actually translating
movement up and down,

and suspending that
jaw and it's dropping,

and I think it's to
be commended.

I think you've got a great eye,

but for this challenge,
it's about you.

And I know you
have the background,

but it may have
been nice to imagine

if these are your ancestors,
who are they?

Or are they you?

But the impact is a real
wow. I think it's great.

They are looking for perfection.

It's their job to point out
every flaw they can find,

however they did
like the overall effect.

I'm so proud of this thing. I want
to take it home. Can I take it home?

David and richard,
the best of chicago and new york.

Our float is iconic eats.

In new york,
you have the signature pizza slice.

And then in chicago,
you have the classic hot dog.

Wow. I feel like
I'm in a parade.

Jamie: How can you be
more personal with your story

than to put your own self in it?

Next up,
the father son duo of tim and zach.

Michigan in four seasons.
Our tower's our centerpiece.

The clock symbolizes
the passing of time.

I think it's really vibrant

in the four seasons,
so well done.

I maybe would have done fewer
minifigures and a little bit bolder,

like your clock tower,
which I think really grabs the eye.

Here comes lauren
and bryan's float.

Lauren: Our build is
called sibling storytime.

Bryan: The prince is desperately
clinging onto rapunzel's hair,

so she has a really
angry expression

'cause she is not happy to
have her hair pulled like that.

Amy: You have been very clever

with the color choice
of that tall tower.

Next,
we have michelle and natalie.

The name of our
float is color-splosion.

The story of our friendship
began with a can of paint.

So we have four paint cans
with paint dripping down.

Then we also have the
top of one of our paint cans,

like,
splattering paint everywhere.

I like that when we asked
you to say who you are,

this is a statement that
immediately we just know it's yours.

Amy: There's paint dripping all over,
there's color everywhere,

and that chaos makes
it exciting to look at.

The rough and tough bikers
are up next. Dawn and jack.

Dawn: Our float is
called kelsey's butterfly.

We are celebrating our great
niece kelsey and her short life.

And we have a butterfly,
which represents her

and her love of color,
her love of life.

That's why we're here
is to celebrate kelsey.

Great,
great job. I see you're getting emotional.

- I am emotional.
- Now you're going to get me,

but you can see the emotion
in the build and it's something

really beautiful
that you've created.

Jamie: It's like one of
those character balloons

floating down the street,
and I really love that you have

the minifigures to give
it a little bit of scale.

But I will challenge you,
if you're going forward,

you have to get a little bit
more comfortable with movement

or be prepared to resculpt
early so you can tell another story

that actually plays
to your strengths.

Jack: Kelsey was an amazing
spirit. She would have loved this.

Our married couple maria
and philip are coming up next.

Maria: We think we have a solid
build in terms of story and technique.

But after seeing
these amazing floats,

we're getting a little worried

because we didn't leave our
kids and our dogs and our home

so that we could just be
here for one challenge.

Will: Coming around the bend next,
we have a float

from our married
couple maria and philip.

It's little bo peep and
her counting sheep.

All right guys,
tell us a little bit about your build.

Maria: This is bedtime story.

I love to read to our kids,
so we have this mom here.

She has decided
to read little bo peep.

We've got bo peep sitting
in her little control tower.

She's making sure that these sheep
make it all the way across the bedroom

hoping to give
them a safe landing.

The sheep are so much fun,
but I think I want to see

one of these sheep jumping.

That is where you want
to see the movement.

Yeah,
this is a movement challenge.

And I think the size of the
float could be even more grand

because you've got this
story that you're telling

that can really take
up more visual space.

Especially when you're comparing
to some of the other floats,

you were a little bit contained. Like,
really amp it up.

Thank you.

I'm a little nervous. We like to
build the smaller, intricate models.

But that's just not
going to fly this season.

We're really gonna have
to make things a lot bigger

if we're gonna stay
in this competition.

Well, that does it for the
first annual lego day parade.

gonna say our names.

I do not like how this feels.

I want to show the
world what we can do.

Dawn: I am very scared
that we may be going home.

Our build had emotion,
but not enough motion.

I don't want to be the
first team eliminated.

Your big parade
was a huge success,

and now it's time for
the moment of truth.

Brickmasters,
all 12 of our teams k*lled it,

but we need to know
who finished at the top

and who brought up the rear.

Susan and jen, we were amazed

by what you
managed to accomplish

in only a couple of hours.

And unfortunately, I don't think
we got to see the best of you.

Maria and philip,
you made some great characters

and told a compelling story.

Unfortunately,
the scale left us wanting more.

It just wasn't big enough.

Okay, this is the part of the show where
I'm supposed to send someone home

and everyone hugs and jamie
starts crying and, um, here goes.

- Nobody's going home today.
- Oh!

What? Nobody's going home!

Oh, my gosh.

We get to stay!

Now we get a chance to show

everybody what we can do.

But that means that somebody

is definitely going
home next week.

So you're going to
have to step it up.

And I should probably start going to
some of those production meetings

so I know what's going on here.

We barely squeaked by on this.

Maria: We're so relieved

because this means that we can
come back for another challenge.

We can step up our game.

But there was another team
that also really did a great job.

showing your
functionality and your skills.

Amy: Steven and mark,
you showed us not only one,

but you gave us three motions

which were quite difficult to achieve,
so very impressed.

ever nervous about one of your builds,

you can activate the golden
brick to stave off elimination.

But if you don't use it

and you end up in the
