04x15 - Medevac

Post by bunniefuu »

Narrator:
down in guyana...

We're gonna give it
a hell of a shot.

...the hoffmans fight
for their mining lives...

Finally getting
a payday, boys.

Whoo!

...only to be tested
by disaster...

[Bleep] fire.

Stop! Stop!
Stop! Stop! Stop!

...after disaster.

Mayday! Man down!

We need a medevac now.

Narrator:
in the klondike...

Oh [bleep]

Narrator: ...parker schnabel
finds himself alone

On a desperate quest
to hit his goal for the season.

If you don't take risks,
nothing will change.

Narrator:
he battles his crew...

I think
it's a piss-poor plan.

...defies his claim owner...

...and crashes his rock truck...

Oh [bleep]

Guys, we got a truck
about to go over.

Narrator: ...all on a mission
to prove that his new cut,

Fantasy land, is the key
to his season's success.

How's that
for fantasy land?

Down in alaska, a flash flood
races down porcupine creek...

Holy...
No, no, no.

Narrator: ...threatening to sink
their whole operation.

Father and son head high into
the mountains up cahoon creek,

Where fred stumbles upon...

Just like a highway
for gold.

Narrator:
...what just may be

The best ground
they've ever seen.

We found the gold
in cahoon, y'all.

At porcupine creek in alaska,

The dakota boys
are running pay dirt

From the bottom
of their downstream cut.

We should have some pretty good
gold in this cleanout.

Mel, I'm gonna shut
the plant down.

With just 4 weeks of
the 22-week mining season left,

Fred and dustin still need
190 ounces of gold

To hit their season goal
of 320 ounces,

Worth over $400,000.

We got a long way to go.

I hope that there's a lot
of gold in this cleanout

And we get to where
we need to be.

[Bleep]

Fred.

Wow. Now, that's
a pretty good-sized chunk.

That's a chunk.

Narrator: six weeks ago,

The dakota boys gave up
on the glory hole

And started mining a cut
just downstream.

This is
a genuine treasure hunt.

Narrator:
the downstream cut

Gave them their best cleanout
ever -- 72 ounces --

Skyrocketing their season total
to 130 ounces,

Worth around $180,000.

This is spectacular.

Hey, guys. Come on over here.
I got some news for you.

Narrator:
now if fred is going to hit

His 320-ounce season goal,

He needs this 3-day run
to pay at least 20 ounces.

We are 52 more ounces,
which brings 182 ounces.

Wow.

Tallis:
that's a lot of gold.

It is a lot of gold.

Seems like
the deeper we go,

The better this is
starting to pay off.

Yeah, that's the way
it's looking.

I mean, all we got to do
is just keep on digging

The bottom of that hole until
I just can't dig no more.

Back in the gold.

Narrator: heavy rains
in the mountains above porcupine

Have turned the creek
into a raging torrent.

I got to go check
that river right now.

Oh, my! Look at this!

h*! This thing
is raging right now.

Oh, man.
We got a major, major problem.

That creek is on
a rampage out there.

Narrator:
the creek is so high

That fred fears it could
threaten their downstream cut.

We're gonna have to do something
with this hole quick, man.

We could have a catastrophic
failure down there.

No, no, no.

Narrator: suddenly, creek water
is breaking through the levee,

The only thing keeping
porcupine creek

Out of their cut.

That's exactly what I was
afraid of, right there.

Narrator:
with the glory hole filled in,

The dakota boys opened up
the downstream cut

To get to pay dirt 90 feet below
the level of porcupine creek.

They left a 15-foot-wide levee
to hold back the creek.

But with the flash flood,
water is breaking through,

Making the levee wall unstable.

At any moment,
the levee could fail,

Destroying the cut
and burying all the gold.

Oh [bleep]

That could go
at any minute.

This hole would fill up
in a second, in a heartbeat.

It is really looking bad
right now.

The large hole here...

Narrator: up at scribner creek
in the klondike,

Parker schnabel has 544 ounces,

Worth 3/4 of a million dollars,

But he is still more
than 250 ounces short

Of his 800-ounce season goal,

And he's decided to take
drastic measures.

So, there's some
big changes coming.

I know you guys want to keep
mining this ground

On this side of the creek,

But it's not getting us
where we need to be.

I really think that there might
be some good gold over there,

And it's a bit of a risk.

We are taking a gamble
here with it.

Gene might be calling it
fantasy land,

But we're gonna go over there,
and we're gonna give it a shot.

Narrator:
he's abandoning the ground
they have worked all season

And shifting
his entire operation

To a hot new cut
on the far side of indian river.

For the last four months,

Parker's been digging the pay
dirt close to his wash plant...

If we're gonna get 800 ounces,
we just got to move the yardage.

Narrator:
...but it's paid just $7 a yard.

What we've been doing

Hasn't been getting us
where we need to be.

Last week,
he found ground so rich,

He could pick gold
right out of the dirt...

Nice, little flake popped out.
I'm picking gold.

Narrator:
...but the gold-rich ground
is on the far side of the river.

Now parker starts to clear
the overburden

In preparation
for his late-season cut.

Parker: we've been doing
slow and steady,

And that's not gonna win
this race anymore.

We need to find
some serious ounces now,

And the ground
on the other side of the creek

Just isn't gonna do it.

Narrator: gene cheeseman,
parker's foreman,

Is building a new road to what
he has dubbed "fantasy land."

Cheeseman:
trying to get the road finished

Into this fantasy land cut
parker's got.

Now I'm in a bad mood. I think
it's a waste of our time.

This is too late in the season
to be on a treasure hunt here.

Narrator:
the road from fantasy land

To parker's wash plant
is 1 1/2 miles long,

Over 3 times the distance

He had to move dirt
from his previous cuts.

Fantasy land will triple
the travel time

To and from the plant,

Meaning the crew can only run
a third as much pay dirt.

Parker: we're taking a risk
by doing this.

I mean, I opened up this cut
on two pans.

All of a sudden,
we're dumping 20 grand into it,

And that's a lot of money.

Narrator:
parker's opened the new cut

Without consulting
his claim owner, tony beets.

Now tony has found out

And has come to test the cut
parker abandoned.

Tony gets a 15% cut
of all of parker's gold.

[Bleep] [bleep]

Any gold parker leaves behind
is money out of tony's pocket.

You got one, two, three,
four, five, six, seven.

Narrator:
tony confronts parker.

Hey, tony.

Some gold.
Where's that from?

No, well, we -- I was always
planning to go back in there.

[Bleep]

Parker defies tony...

And heads back across the river
to mine fantasy land.

[Bleep]

I've got a plan,
and we need to stick with it.

What's the point
of leasing ground

If I can't mine it
the way I want to?

Don't lease ground to somebody

That you don't think is gonna
get the gold out of the ground.

Narrator:
at porcupine creek in alaska,

A flash flood is threatening
to breach the levee

Between the creek and
the dakota boys' downstream cut.

Fred has declared porcupine
too dangerous to mine,

But he's not ready
to give up on the season.

Fred:
we have options right now.

Take a look-see as to what's
happening up at cahoon creek,

See if we can find some gold.

Narrator: fred and dustin are
heading up to cahoon creek,

Their new ground 3,000 feet up

In the mountains
above porcupine.

Hell, I haven't seen it
in a year.

About time for me
to look at it again.

Hopefully, you can show me
where to find some damn gold.

Dustin has spent weeks
prospecting for gold at cahoon.

The more bedrock I uncover,

The bigger my chances are
to find gold.

Narrator: after a backbreaking
week-long dig,

They found no gold
in the first concentrate...

Are we seeing anything?
Nothing.

...but fred is certain
there's a massive gold deposit

Somewhere up at cahoon.

Let me take a look around
a little bit.

Fred looks for clues to explain
why dustin's first test failed.

This your hole?
This is the hole.

That's all the down the bedrock
right there -- all that.

I see the problem right off --
immediately.

What's up, fred?
What's up?

What you're processing
here is,

You're processing
99% of this.

Look up on the mountain
right there.

That is nothing
but granite,

And the gold
is not in the granite.

That mountain right there,

As you can see,
the reddish color --

Dustin, it looks to me,
there's fault line up there.

That's where the gold
came up.

Fred thinks the source
of the gold in cahoon

Lies in a fault that runs
between two mountains.

Gold will naturally travel
downhill.

Fred believes the ground
dustin mined was too high up

And that the gold
is in the red rock

Further down the valley,
below the fault line.

This is what we're looking for,
right here,

And this particular material --
just like a highway for gold.

Dustin, I know
it's a long way to move,

And I think we need to be
digging right here.

You sure about this?
Because this is the last chance.

If I dig here, and I don't find
gold, we got to pack it up.

Fred: we invested an awful lot
of money getting here,

So we are gonna find
some gold on cahoon creek.

Narrator:
with a new plan in place...

All right, fred.
All right.

Thanks
for the help, man.

...fred returns to porcupine to
try and salvage the situation.

I'm not gonna give up on cahoon.
Dustin isn't, either.

We're gonna find
some good gold in there.

Narrator: dustin is left behind
to somehow move

His 1-ton wash plant

But on the mountain,
he and his crew, wes and paul,

Only have two ec20
mini excavators

With a maximum lift power
of less than 1/2 ton.

If this thing rolls over,
it's gonna be devastating.

Can I lift it,
you think?

No [bleep] way.

Will it drag it, though?
That's a different story, right?

[ Engine revs ]

Digging in pretty bad.

Oh [bleep]

Nothing, dude.
It's just not gonna go. Wow.

Narrator: just 3 feet
into their 1,000-foot haul,

It's not looking good.

Dustin:
I got a long way to go with it.

It's gonna take
two excavators to move it.

Narrator: wes hooks up
their second excavator

To double their lifting power.

All right, this is gonna be
our first creek crossing

To find out how this works.

[ Engines revving ]

Hold up! Hold up!
Stand by!

It's gonna take both of us
to pick it up.

We're gonna pick it up.

Come on! Move!

Whoa! Whoa!
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!

Whoa!
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!

No! No! No! No!
No! No! No!

That scared the [bleep]
out of me.

Thing nearly tipped over.

If that thing
would've gone over,

It would've k*lled the hopper
on it, and then we'd be done.

It's light
on this side.

I see that now.

There we go.
Now we can do some dragging.

Narrator: with just one
of six creeks behind them,

Dustin inches his way
down the valley.

Dragging a wash plant
through the marsh

In the middle of nowhere,
alaska.

I need to get my head
checked.

Just don't want to see
all my effort going to nothing.

Hey, we've only got
about 50 yards to go,

And we're gonna be there!

Damn,
that sounds good to me.

Narrator:
after four hours of dragging...

Dustin: oh!
Well, there we are.

Narrator: ...the plant is
finally on the new dig site

That dakota fred believes
is rich in gold.

Ah, it's here.
That just was rough.

Agh! We made it,
though.

Let's call it, man.
What a day.

Deep in the guyanese jungle...

At redemption creek,

The hoffman crew
is mining for diamonds

That they hope
will save their season.

Todd: how you doing?

We're doing good. We haven't
had any problems today.

All right,
just keep it going, man.

Keep moving the material.
Punch it through.

We're not gonna make it
unless we're running 100%

And let the chips, you know,
fall where they may.

Narrator: after striking out
on finding jungle gold,

The hoffman crew has switched
to diamond mining.

It is a diamond-catching
mother.

Just last week,
they hit a rich pocket

Known in guyana as a "shout."

We got 28 diamonds.

Good.
All right.

If they can build
on recent success,

They just might be able to save
their disastrous season.

Their diamond-catching lavador
runs on manpower.

Brian is the jet man,

Working a powerful hose
that breaks up jungle dirt.

Feels great to finally
be mining good dirt,

And also to have figured out
this system.

Narrator:
kevin is the pit man,

Clearing rocks and debris
from the channel.

It's gonna take a team effort,

And it's gonna take all of us
out here busting our asses.

Narrator: the slurry of pay dirt
is sucked up by a pump

That feeds into the lavador,
manned by jim thurber.

Everything's running right.
Equipment's finally tuned right.

We're gonna give it
a hell of a shot.

Narrator:
five hours into their shift,

The water pressure
suddenly drops.

Aw, I've had it
with these pumps.

They just keep [bleep] up
all day long.

What the [bleep]

Fire.

Oh [bleep]

[Bleep]

Narrator: the pump that feeds
the plant is on fire.

[Bleep] kevin,
throw [bleep] on there.

Damn it.
What the [bleep] was that?

Damn it!

[Bleep]

What happened?

Thurber: dude, the frickin'
fuel tank slides off

And it's hit
the positive lead

And it caught
the damn thing on fire.

[Bleep]

Narrator: the fire has destroyed
the pump's fuel tank.

We need to get running again.
What's it gonna take, thurb?

I need fuel pickup
and a fuel return.

Brian, I need, immediately,
4 feet of fuel line,

And I need a 3-gallon
empty blue can.

I want you on your dirt bike,
and I want you running now.

Yeah, I got it.

Narrator: brian, a hoffman crew
rookie, races back to camp

To get the parts they need
to repair the pump.

It's just crap like this
that just screws everything up.

I'm tired of this.

If we could just mine,
we might get somewhere.

Mayday! Mayday! Man down!
Brian's hurt. I need a medic.

[ Tires screech ]
mike!

Narrator: brian has fallen off
his motorcycle.

Todd rushes to the production
crew headquarters

To get the medic.

Mike! Mike!
Dude, brian crashed.

He's hurt.
He's hurt pretty bad.

The nearest hospital
is 150 miles away.

Mike, the medic, is
the only person who can help.

Needham: oh, I see them.
Oh [bleep] frick.

I'll get the door.

They're frickin' moving him.
Okay, well --

Okay, guys,
just stay here a second.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!
Why are you moving him, guys?

Hang on, hang on.

Are you in
a lot of pain, brian?

Dude, let go of me
and back up now.

You're not filming this
right now.

Narrator: in a remote camp
deep in the guyanese jungle,

The hoffman crew
has a medical emergency.

Brian has crashed his motorcycle
on a muddy jungle road.

[ Groans ]

[ Weakly ] can you put it back
to where it was before?

He has sustained
a serious injury.

The camera crew's paramedic,
mike needham,

Doesn't have the resources
to treat it.

Needham: can you touch
your fingers together?

I can't touch them,
is why it sucks.

I'd just put some pressure
on them if I could, but --

[ Grunts ]

God.
It looks horrible.

[ Groans ]

Mike, I want him
the frick out of here.

There's no way
brian's going out by road,

So it's got to be
an aircraft.

Narrator: todd must get
a medical evacuation flight

To georgetown, the guyanese
capital, 150 miles away.

Hey, we have
a medical emergency.

We had a guy crash
on a motorcycle

Out at the ewang runway, and we
need a medevac now -- out here.

Dude, I couldn't get
the chopper.

We can get a fixed-wing
if the guy can land here.

We'll be ready.

Okay, you're gonna feel a pain
in your arm, brian. Yep.

Oh [bleep]

Okay. How we doing?

[ Groans ]

Oh, man.

Narrator: the hoffmans' claim is
next to an old jungle airstrip,

But it's not certified.

Landing here
is at the pilot's discretion.

This is it.

This is my worst fear,
right here -- is this.

One of my guys will get frickin'
hurt, and we couldn't get help.

That's the worst thing
that can happen out here.

Okay.

[Bleep]

Narrator:
the medevac plane circles,

But the crew still doesn't know

If it will be able to land
on the short dirt runway.

Yeah. Looks like
he's gonna come in. Good.

Mike, bring brian out a.s.a.p.

Dude, you're gonna
be okay, man.

We're gonna get you
to a hospital.

How we doing there?

So, you're headed to georgetown
to the hospital?

Georgetown -- a couple of hours,
he'll be back in.

We'll be praying for you.

[ Engine turns over ]

Godspeed,
little brother.

Narrator: 6,000 miles north
in the klondike...

Parker schnabel
is ignoring orders

From his claim owner,
tony beets,

And is opening up a new cut
on the far side of indian river.

His crew calls it
"fantasy land."

Parker: this is the first scoop
of our 1,000-yard test.

Hope it's lucky.

Narrator: to prove his crew
and claim owner wrong,

Parker needs
at least 20 ounces of gold

From just 1,000 yards
of pay dirt.

That would make fantasy land

Four times as rich as the ground
he's been mining.

Parker: I have some doubts about
this, but that's gold mining.

If you don't take risks,
nothing will change.

Narrator:
each rock truck is loaded
with over 15 yards of pay dirt.

It's then hauled
a mile and a half by road

Across the river
to the wash plant,

Where chris doumitt,
in a loader,

Then has to feed big red

At a constant rate
of 150 yards an hour.

My major concern
is how far away this cut is.

Now they're across a river,
so I don't know

If they're gonna be able to
keep up with the plant or not.

Narrator: to keep the plant
running at full capacity,

The two rock trucks must make
the 3-mile round trip

Every 12 minutes.

Foreman gene cheeseman
has been timing them...

That's right
at 20 minutes a load.

...and he's pissed.

It just doesn't make
any sense to me.

And we're not even gonna
keep up with the plant.

Well, I mean, that is
[bleep] ridiculous.

So am I just
wasting time here?

We're in too deep
now to quit.

It's just a lot of time
at a bad time in the season.

It's kind of
what I thought, too.

I think
it's a piss-poor plan.

[ Sighs ]

Well, you know,
I hope you're wrong, gene.

Well,
I hope you're right.

To keep up with the plant,

Parker takes over from rick,
hauling dirt.

Parker: we're in too deep now
to turn around,

So we're just gonna go for it.

[ Crash ]
[bleep] [bleep]

Whoa! Whoa!
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!

Guys, we got a truck over.

Narrator: at scribner creek
in the klondike,

Parker schnabel has
nearly rolled his rock truck

Off the road.

That's probably
the scariest thing

That's happened this season.

I was just shaking in the cab.

That was damn close.

Narrator:
foreman gene cheeseman

Has been against parker's
new fantasy land plan

From the get-go...

[ Sighs ] [bleep]

...and now he has to help him
recover the rock truck

Just to keep pay dirt
flowing to the plant.

I'm not [bleep] talking you.
Just [bleep]

I don't give a [bleep]
I'm not talking to you!

Yeah, just get the [bleep]
out of here!

It was a [bleep] up, you know?
That's [bleep] up.

I have nothing nice to say,

So I don't really want to say
anything.

Back up.

Narrator: with rick pulling
in a 460 excavator

And gene pushing from behind,

Parker takes on
the dangerous task

Of steering the rock truck
up the embankment.

I need a seatbelt --
is what I [bleep] need

And a [bleep]
five-point harness.

You good to go?

You good, rick?

[ Engines rev ]

Hey, gene, watch that back end.
It's still slipping.

Cheeseman: put the interlock in
in first gear

And just kind of
give it some power.

Good job.

[Bleep]

Narrator:
crisis averted, and once again,

The rock trucks haul pay dirt
to the wash plant.

Right over here.

Narrator:
the crew has hauled fantasy land
dirt for 10 straight hours.

For parker's gamble to pay off,

The new ground
must have four times more gold

Than the closer
early-season cut.

So, this is the last truckload
of the 1,000-yard test.

We need 20 ounces,
and I don't know.

I'm anxious.

This is it.
It's all I got.

Are you prepared
for disappointment?

[Bleep] [bleep]

Well, nobody's
jumping for joy.

[ Laughs ]
pretty good, parker.

A pile of gold here.

You have a pile
of gold here.

Whoa!

That's the biggest chunk of gold
we found all season.

That's, like,
a proper nugget.

You all right?

How's that
for fantasy land?

We've been mining
the wrong side of the creek.

Narrator: in south america,

The hoffman crew is down,
but not out.

Thurber: we're down a man.
The jungle took out one of us,

And -- you know,
but we got to keep going.

Narrator:
brian, their newest crew member,

Was evacuated back to the states
with a dislocated elbow.

Thurber: we have the parts now.
Get this thing up and running.

It'll look hokier than hell,
but this will not happen again.

Narrator:
a fire damaged their water pump,

But jim thurber
makes a new fuel tank

Out of a water container
and a spare hose.

Well, you know, this is a --

I don't know
if it's a proper fix,

But this is how we do it
in the jungle.

You know, it's got to work.

Here we go.

[ Motor starts ]

Voilà!

Whoo!
Whoo!

All right!
Yeah!

Todd: you got it?

Hillbilly fix,
but we got it.

You did it!
Dude, we're back in business.

Yeah, let's get
this thing running.

All right, good job.

Narrator: with the lavador
running once again,

The crew is back
to diamond mining.

Todd:
jungle's trying to kick our a*s,

But this little battle
right here, we just won.

We're back in business.

You know, I've spent my share
of hours in that pit,

Getting soaking wet,
beating myself up,

And I'm ready to finally see
a paycheck.

Narrator:
the hoffman crew lost two days
to the fire and brian's injury.

After a long day running,

They shut down
for the moment of truth.

Todd: one big diamond could just
change everything for us.

There -- one two, see?

We got one?

Two.
Two. We got two.

Whoa,
look at that one.

See, there's nothing
prettier than that.

We just got a diamond.

Okay, man,
this is a good sign.

There's one.
Is that one?

Yeah.
Oh, sweet.

I can see that one
from here.

And that one.
Kevin, three.

Yeah, baby.

Is that another one?
Yeah.

Holy schnikes.

All right, you guys,
this is the best bucket
and the last bucket.

Kevin.

Is that one?
Yep.

Right on.

We're finally getting
a payday, boys.

Dude, keep them coming.
Keep them coming.

Dude!

Are you kidding me?
Are you freakin' kidding me?

We're finally consistently
pulling out diamonds, man.

Narrator: despite one of their
toughest weeks in the jungle,

The hoffman crew has pulled 20
diamonds out of the jungle dirt.

Todd:
after the week we've had,

I think 20 diamonds
is pretty dang good.

You know what?
Maybe we're not dead yet.

The jungle has given us
a beating,

And we're finally
fighting back right here.

Narrator: 3,000 feet up in
the mountains at cahoon creek,

The first snow of the season
has dusted the peaks.

I think it froze
overnight.

Winter could be here
any minute.

I don't think we have to
starch the towel. It's frozen.

[ Laughs ]
it's nice and stiff.

Yeah, it'll warm up
next summer.

[ Chuckles ]

Let's go finish digging
a hole and run some dirts.

Do what?

This commute to work
is gonna be a [bleep]

Traffic is awful.

It is, isn't it?

[ Laughs ]

Narrator:
in alaska at cahoon creek,

High in the mountains
above porcupine,

Dustin has relocated
the crew's makeshift wash plant

To a new dig site

That dakota fred thinks
is rich in gold.

Dustin: this is the start
of our second hole

Where fred wants me to dig.

He thinks that this is where the
source of the gold comes from.

Narrator: just one foot down,
the first signs are good.

Yeah, look at this stuff.
That's pure sand.

Nice gravel in it, too.

Yeah, that gravel definitely
looks different

Than what we had
over there.

There better be
some damn gold down here.

Something's got to pay
the bills.

This feels like bedrock,
but I can't tell.

I can't get past it.

If there's gonna be gold,

It's gonna be in this busted
bedrock right here.

That's all bedrock.

Narrator:
they fire up the wash plant.

All right, we got water.
You can start feeding it.

Every piece of machinery
has had to be taken apart,

Flown up by helicopter,
and rebuilt on the mountain.

With such a small operation,

Dustin plans a 10-yard run
to test for gold.

This stuff is gonna
have to be good --

Not just a little bit better
than porcupine, but a lot.

All right, here we go.

This is gonna be
the last bucket.

We'll have to do a shutdown.

Narrator: dustin forces
the last of the 10-yard run

Through the grizzly bars.

All right! Shut it off!

[ Engine shuts off ]

Narrator:
with porcupine shut down,

The dakota boys' season
now depends on cahoon.

Whoo!

Let's see
what's in this stuff, man.

From just 10 yards of dirt,

If there are flakes of gold
in this pan,

It means they're on rich ground.

Do you see it?

That's gold.

Look at it!
Oh!

That's a lot of gold.

Man, I cannot
believe that.

There it is. There it is.
Whoo!

No way.

Look at that, dude.

[Bleep] [bleep]

We found it.

We found the gold
in cahoon, y'all.

Hey, fred,
we got gold, man!

And you were right.
I think this is the source.

Fred: all right!

Narrator: north in the klondike
at scribner creek,

Parker cleans up gold

From a 1,000-yard run
of fantasy land dirt,

And as usual,
claim owner tony beets

Has arrived for his 15% cut.

I don't know.
We need to weigh it and see.

Tony ordered parker to finish
mining his existing cut

Before digging new ground
in fantasy land.

You got,
what, 18, 19, 20?

Parker needs
at least 20 ounces of gold

To prove that his move
to fantasy land

Will pay off in the long run.

That's 12 more
than I needed.

This is
a good test result.

I'm sick of getting questioned
on my [bleep]

We'll weigh it up
and get your --

You don't want your cut?

[Bleep]

I mean, tony is
just never happy.

He wants everything
done his way,

And that's not why I'm here.

You know, I came up here
to do things my way.

The only way I can see
getting tony off my back

Is to pay him the royalty
on that 800 ounces right now

And buy my freedom.

Narrator:
parker is still 223 ounces
short of his 800-ounce goal.

But to buy his freedom,
he's decided to pay tony

The 15% cut on those 223 ounces

That he still hopes
to pull out of the ground.

That's almost $50,000 worth
of gold.

Hey, tony.

Here.

That's the royalty on 800.

I'm paying it forward
so you can get off my a*s.

I've got a plan.
I just need to do it my way.

Yeah.
Okay.

Thanks, tony.

Parker has bought his freedom,
but at a price.

Parker: 800's a stretch.

That's a lot of gold,

And we don't have a lot
of season left to find it.

We're less than 600 right now,
and we've hardly got 3 weeks,

So...

Better hope
fantasy land pays off.
