03x20 - Rock 'Em, Sock 'Em (Pt. 1)

Post by bunniefuu »

- [Presenter] Okay, Master Monster Riders.

We've come to the end of another season of "Monster G"

[horn honking] [upbeat music]

and if we've offended anybody along the way...

- I'm really, really sorry.

= [Presenter] Buckle up for a two part

season ending extravaganza,

featuring two teams, building two monsters

for twice as much fun and 10 times the madness.

[laughing]

It's rock'em versus sock'em leading up to a death match

beyond the monster dome.

So pull your punches, play your hunches,

and release the hose.

The next to last season ending episode

of "Monster Garage" is about to blow!

[horn honking] [upbeat music]

Incoming!

[upbeat music]

- [Announcer] Join us now as Jesse

and his g*ng of Maverick Mechanics rip, grind

and burn transforming ordinary street vehicles

into monster machines in the Monster Garage.

[upbeat music]

This week's challenge and next week's challenge!

The mega monster marathon of all time!

[dog barking] [energetic upbeat music]

Not just one team, but two teams.

And they'll turn brand new Scions

into rock'em sock'em battling beasts.

[upbeat music continues]

What are we doing with these cars?

Something that's never been done before.

Why?

We love the rock'em sock'em robots!

- And blue farmers block is knocked off.

- Boy, this is the greatest.

- [Announcer] The mega rules

when complete the monster machines

must appear to be deadly.

Each team can spend no more than 5,000 bucks for Barts.

The crews have seven days and nights.

On the first day they design for the next five they build.

And on the seventh day they fight.

The winning team members take home a $6,000 custom.

Jesse James Mack Toolbox

and the clock starts now.

Day one!

[upbeat music]

Jesse's got double duty on this show.

First he drives in the Scion xb,

then he puts the smaller XA through a quick test squeal

the team captains Wink Eller

and Eric Scarlet enter the monster arena to determine

who gets which car.

Wink and Eric must duke it out.

- The battle begins.

- Flares a quick upper cut.

Oh, left. All right. Oh, you gotta be kidding me.

They're both taking up eating.

- You knocked my block off.

- Wink comes to a quick decision.

- I'm gonna take this one beyond the red team.

- It's official Wink will lead the red Rutgers

into harm's way.

Monster Garage Veteran artist Mike Desmond.

Also on board is Eric Cherney

who designs Hot wheels for Mattel.

- So Rockham, Soham Scions.

Actually, we can't really sit down

and design these like we do in normal monster garage

'cause everybody that's been on here has been before.

So, and I don't want to come in all

with both the designs dictate what we should do.

We're just gonna have an old fashioned car fight.

- This is gonna be an old fashioned can of whoop basket.

- Yeah, well we're, you know, and and rock 'em.

Sock 'em robots. So both of 'em have to knockout head. Yeah.

And each car have that attached to a certain spot.

The two things you have to figure out is one, how

to knock out your opponent's head

and two, how to protect yours.

And then, you know, everything else is open game, you know,

you know, once they're done, we'll take 'em right out

and we'll fight to the death.

No paint, no nothing like that. Let's just go battle it out.

Loser gets nothing. Nothing.

My original idea was to have like a helicopter blade with,

but like Maces, you know, balling chains, right?

You just, when it fires up

and start spinning like a look like a hummingbird,

but the hummingbird of death,

- We can take a bush hog, you know, a 90 degree bush hog,

put chains on it with ba*ls

and then once they get swinging, you know, it's just,

it could be the, it could be the grand finale. Pull

- Out the flail - Machine.

Yeah, it's like any street fight.

You know, I can be the best fighter in the whole world.

And it's always the guy that like, it's always that guy

that wins, you know, because gets expect.

Yeah. He gets that lucky shot in. This is gonna be good.

- The red team now has a basic approach.

Create a spinning wheel of death.

Jesse gets the red out and now it's time to turn. Blue.

Mattel designer Jonathan Bedford will lend his plastic

robot expertise.

Low brow legend. The Piz is here to push the pencil

and fabricating fanatic Eric Scarlet will represent the Blue

b*mber bill Team.

- What up Dog?

- What's up!

- So you guys got the small car, right?

You got the, you let Wink beat you.

- Actually it was, it was, no,

the head is stronger on one side than the

other. We tested it earlier

- Set up once - Again.

Hey, you know what, we're in trouble man.

They've been testing the boss of the show.

I know him personally.

- I want to epic. I wanna battle once Sparks and fire.

And is the budget still the same?

He need some ramps that

with the skills on Eric's team

that if you wanna do some kind of rams with some kind of

big ba*ls or something on that,

- I can have it to where you just push a button

and it pushes air into the ram and the ram will extend.

I can do like 15. It'll just come out and just boom.

And the minute you let off the button, just boom!

- With the design at an end.

The blue bombers take the simple approach,

create a punching mechanism to deliver the knockout blow.

Time to meet the Red rockers

- NASCAR engineer, John Baik,

queen of the welding torch.

Lisa Lajan.

Mike, I can build anything.

Stapleton

demotion, Derby Dame Cindy Regal,

squirrel face, Dwayne Youngin

and with a weld in his eye. Wink

- Heller adjust.

Hey jar, you guys ready to whip some a*s? Bring it on.

The, the three elements is it's gotta have a head,

you're gonna have to protect it, you know, all the wheels,

radiator, all that stuff.

And you know, make a punching mechanism.

I don't want it to like just

- Ding, ding, ding, dinking, - Ding, ding.

You know, I want to sparks and fire

and death and destruction.

No rounds, no timeout, nothing.

We just get ready and fight

to the death winner takes all losers get nothing.

They get to go home dirty and tired. All guys. Cool.

What are you doing? You little, there's a m*dget in here.

Probably the best before.

- It wouldn't be a season ending finale without our pint

sized pal body drop.

He'll be on board all week long to help fight the good fight

while Jesse puts the drop on body drop,

the red team jumps right into refining their design. Makes

- Sense.

I was even thinking, you know what I mean?

Just it was, I'm thinking out loud right now,

but what do you guys think of inertia?

Cannons a piece of tubing with, with a heavy weight in it.

When you come up and slam on the brakes, the rams come out

and we'd be able to go for their targets.

Just the weight of it doesn't.

Oh, when hit run straight at his, we run straight at it.

We'd have the vehicle you run straight at.

When the vehicle makes contact, the inertia can,

it comes out and hits toward their targets.

Why don't we get these ideas written down

and we'll go through 'em and We'll let's do that. We gotta,

- While the red rockers huddle up to fine tune their plan.

The blue bombers, each one a garage veteran,

make their entrance.

It's deja vu all over again

- Battling for the bombers we have in your face

fabricator Eric Scarlet.

For the third time on Monster Garage Tombstone

Fresh master, Jason, Jesse,

grace Mixon, crystal Stern,

kooky, kindergarten teacher, chef Ginsburg

and metal artist.

Jim Day. How's it going? What's up man? Good to see you.

- What's up man? How you doing? How you doing man?

All right. The world has been made out

of the battles of good and evil.

The evil's always bad, just stink.

I wouldn't be on TV if I was like a good guy.

- We were saying we - Wouldn't wanna be anything

but what we are.

So this is it. We're gonna have a battle to the death

monster garage style.

We gotta make it so the driver's protected.

Eric's gonna work on an arm that's kind of got a

articulated arm that's gonna come out and throw punches.

I think it's a pretty, pretty fair fight.

You know, you just gotta put your heads down

and work and try to get it done.

Ours came with a nail on the tire.

That's our handicap. They gave us handicap.

- Oh, we had tons - Of handicaps.

We're the handicapable crew.

I know Shep something in tells me you've had a lot

of nails in your tires in life.

- Nails in their tires or not.

This team of slow leaks makes quick work of the tear out.

The blue bombers continue their vehicular manslaughter.

Yeah, this week in the monster garage.

It's the brainiacs versus the maniacs.

- Oh, it's not anger, it's just positive expression.

- I really, don honestly can't say which one I think will

win if they both finish

and they both work and they're together.

I don't know. It's, it's 50 50. It's a toss up.

You know, everybody's gonna be rooting for them though.

What do you got? It's rather provocative.

- Oh yeah man. Jingle off.

I like to joke around.

Have a good time and giggle and dance and act like a fool.

The only problem is, is when people think that

that fool doesn't know what he's doing, I'll weld him

around in a circle, put him in a box and shove him

- Off the door.

Eric does know his stuff pretty good.

He's just, just that kind of personality.

That needles everybody the wrong way.

- I weld every single day, all day.

I plasma cut every single day, all day.

I fabricate air suspension

and air pneumatics all day every day.

So if you guys need help, I'll help you. We need help.

We help each, we ask each other

and if you don't know it, don't do it.

Well you each do your job and we will have everything done.

If you each don't do your job then don't

sit here already right now.

- All hands. Work the gas tank

free. Don't be cutting nothing.

- Okay, hold up. You should be loose. Zip for this. Hold on.

- No. Get it from up there. I can't get it in the hold tank.

You can't. I don't take

measurements and I just go in and do.

Yeah, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Like how many people does it take to pull a gas tank out?

Like 10 midgets. Huh?

Can fly there Two little pieces together.

- The blues keep wacking and the reds keep yaking.

- What would you think of if this is a roof wreck?

What the hell's going on over there?

You can hear like metal smashing

and then knowing those guys, I know it's not good.

- Finally the rockers are ready

to rip into their little red wagon. Well look at

- The clear - Cover.

- It's safety first.

- He's not who society perceives as being a genius.

- Right across there cut to seam

and then cut the seam back that way

and make it fold back that

- Way.

I think looking at wink and bib overalls and a big beard

and kind of that good cackle laugh he has,

but he's sharp as a whip

and he can think of, you know, make anything outta anything.

This is fun.

- No broken glass.

You broke it.

Ouch. Here Lisa. Don't break that.

She said hurt right here. Weak.

Think about where you're going.

So when you get there, you already have it planned out.

Exactly right.

- Both teams are done with the tear out,

but that's the easy part.

For the blue team, it's not tactical, it's just personal.

There's personality conflicts

that he thinks will sh**t ourselves in.

In the foot. Yeah. Yeah.

So this is the test to see if we can actually work together.

- It's like an experiment. You put these people together

that are all volatile and you see what they do.

You know, it's like taking a beer

can and shaking it up when it's warm.

And the idea here is rather than exploding your face,

we're gonna control that can

to the point that it just pours up.

Just smooth even.

- Anyway, talk at the out and and get it done

because everybody's got the right idea.

- Yeah, yeah.

- And we're gonna figure out how to do this.

- Monster Garage factoid.

The Rockham Soum robots debuted in 1965.

Their retail price was under $20.

Original games now sell for as much as 500 bucks

more sell, more sell.

- Welcome back to day two Monster Fight fans.

When we left our two teams,

they were giving the scions the business end

of a plasma torch.

- Now the blue bombers are taking a time out

to devise a game plan designer, the his returns

to explain his plan

and to contribute what he can. Let's listen in.

- Instead of breaking down the arm of the elbow

and shoulder of and forearm, that's a really weird motion.

We're just gonna have one, which is the spine

and then the fist comes out like that.

- The blue team's design

for their primary weapon is simple and strong.

The arms will pivot left and right

and throw pneumatically powered punches.

The blue bombers switch from offense to defense.

Captain Scarlet lays out the plan.

- The only place to weld a cage. This is all sheet metal.

I figured. And we don't want to go off the motor mount

to come off the main structure of the car.

So we're, we're gonna plate this

with quarter inch steel over the top of it.

Make it double strong, then come forward up

and over like a ram bar on the front

and then we can put points

of spikes off the front of the vehicle.

It needs to be strong. And this is your strongest point.

- Welded this one bar on here

to strengthen it between the wheels.

We're basically building a new axle

so that'll be stronger and sturdier.

- Yep, that'll work. Build it strong is everyone's mission.

Eric fits the tubing for the ram proof front end.

- I'm just making sure no one gets hurt right there.

See that could have got his ankle right there.

One time this happened. Guy got caught. Start joking.

Okay. Should I look like gentle reflections like

- Skyward.

He's a character man. He's kind of in his own little world.

You never know what's gonna come out of his mouth.

Like I see Jimmy and Timmy

- And Becky.

- Cops don't - Even think twice.

They're too sorry for him and they don't pull me over.

It's like, oh whoa, I ran through that stop sign. Hey sorry.

Waved him and they're like, man, don't

- Even, don't even talk.

He is the world's best halfpipe ramp rider.

Skateboarder. You can ask Tony Hawk

who the best skateboarder in the world

is. He'll say, Jason,

- Ignorance is handy

because hey, I don't know how to do this.

You guys cool? They got it done. Oh sh**t.

I don't even have any clue how to pick this stuff up.

Oh, you guys will get it. Cool. They're good at it.

Like I'm good at getting out of it

- Over the wall.

Dwayne and Cindy get started on a cage

to protect their driver

- And we can run it right on top of here

and use this old seatbelt.

- The reds rock the bender making it look easy.

They have no trouble with difficult compound bends.

Turning one straight tubing into a steel cocoon

safety gauge.

- All we have to do is fit 'em

and then our welder has to get to work and get 'em welded.

- We got a problem with our welder at the moment.

- She's a union help. She's union help. It's a union

- Holiday and she don't wanna work today. You trying to

- Dog me.

Jim braces the doors for impact.

- You know my last show, it kind

of became like Jim Day against the world.

- This is nuts. You know, what do you want?

You know I spent all week making this thing.

You guys want to destroy it in a couple hours.

- Jim was was pretty defiant. Hey, need brace those?

Oh, Jim's mad. I cannot believe it. I'm defending my crew.

Yeah, I'm working with these guys.

We working really hard in case you didn't notice.

This is my crew, you know, and what I say goes here.

- It's a brand new day for Jim in this garage.

Jim day's working his off man.

Get it man. Get it. Get it. Body drop lands the old one two

delivering Kneehigh death blows under the legs.

Under the legs. Come on Maggie. Yeah. What's up?

- How you doing? How - You good? How are you Jesse?

Mia, nice to meet you.

- Are you gonna beat someone's in here? No

- Girl power is alive and well in the garage.

Female boxer Mia St.

John stops by to help Lisa with her jab.

- I like to breathe at the same time

and give it like, make like a little kiosk.

You know what that is? No.

Like when you, you yell to give it like more force. Exactly.

Okay. Give it all you got and let that yell out.

There you go.

- Yeah. That's about as much as the ring as I get.

I stick to welding.

- You guys are actually making some progress.

We actually, we got everything taken apart

and starting to go back together.

So we, we've come up. We're a long way from being done,

but I think we've come a long way in for the first day.

- The reds are impressed with their progress. So is Jim.

- They're moving fast over there. There's no doubt.

You know, problem is right now I'm the only

one standing next to the car.

We need to get motivated and get things moving and,

and I think it's things are going a little slow.

Where you going? Failing. Are you

- Blowing the pot with - Sand

That's right. Crystal

and Piz head out as the rest

of the blue team continue working.

Finally the blue team straggles out of the garage

while the red team struts their way home.

This heavy metal fight could end up a game of chicken

with one team already blinking monster garage.

Factoid boxers in the first Olympic games in 688 BC

fought with metal stunted leather bands wrapped

around their fists.

- Day three.

Both teams enter with a lot on their plate.

- The red team is worried about k*lling

someone on the blue team.

- There's a little bit of a safety issue that we don't want

to be sending our beam into the operator

compartment of the Why not?

We don't. It's a fight to the death.

- Oh, we're not supposed to take the head off

The person driving though.

- It doesn't matter. He's

- Driving the car.

Why not? The blue team is worried about whether they will

make a good looking course.

- Let's put something really ugly up

- Here.

You know, like that expanded metal or something.

You need to have like ugly right over the whole thing.

Like Dean warmer's head from

animal house. You know what I'm saying?

- But inside the car,

hurricane Eric is brewing than pipe do than he does.

- They don't listen. They all just talk, talk, talk,

talk, talk, talk.

There's more talk going on than work going on. Theory.

Theory, how we're gonna drive.

I don't give a, I don't care about none of it.

Let's grab someone and go beat him and just beat him.

- I wanna beat somebody while Eric dreams

of beating his own team.

Dwayne and the red team are prepared to help him

- After we get this unit done.

If they don't have that one back together,

our team has already talked, we're gonna go over

and get them done.

Otherwise, you can't fight with only one person.

- Lou better watch. That's why they blue.

- They going to have the blues when we finish.

- Being a welder isn't a glamorous job.

And something about her and the way she puts it

and the way she talks about it, it makes it glamorous

and it makes it seem like it's just, you know, like she's,

you know, van Gogh,

- I stand by my - Wheels a hundred percent.

Jump on 'em. Hop on 'em. Swing on 'em.

They ain't going nowhere. Yeah.

See you in trouble.

- The red roosters are squawking about how great they are,

but it's only day three and no one's hatched anything yet.

While the red team worships themselves, crystal

and Jason are busy bowing before a piece of cardboard

- We're falling for the false idol is our false

idol. I'm just in

- Awe.

I just stand here in awe.

Eric has another idea about what to do with the cardboard.

- Hey, what are you doing? That's our guy.

He knocked his block off.

We wanna tie, you're not gonna play nice.

You don't get to play at all

- As work on the red roll.

Cage continues.

Wink finds two identical sea channels for his inertia ram.

I just walked over to the steel

- Rack though and there it was.

It was just staring me in the face.

There's two pieces exactly the same length.

- When Wink returns to the steel rack

for the second Sea channel,

he finds the other team has taken it.

- He's still not long enough.

- John grabbed some similar channel

to try to barter with the blue team.

- Hey, did you guys come grab a piece of our C channel?

A piece just like that. We had a matching set. Okay.

If you guys eat, 'cause we got a couple small pieces

like this, but we were gonna use that.

That big one we had.

We had two of those that were matching length.

I saw what you guys were doing.

- I just, John takes back the piece of steel,

but he's met by a blockade at the door.

- Easy. No, don't hit me with that pipe.

Walk into it. Don't hit me with that. I'm serious now.

I'll come on. Did you let him through with that?

Yeah, it's alright. You serious?

Gimme some respect.

That's real.

- What happened over there? I don't know.

Your boy over there with the Harley's all,

all up in my face about coming over here with this stuff.

Oh really? Oh, well hit me in the head

with his, his room handle.

But I'm scared to do anything to him

because he's, he's like the kind of guy that's just crazy

to start swinging like we're gonna be doing.

So exactly best thing

to do is just walk away and eat it. So exactly.

- An uneasy truce falls over the garage.

The blue team takes a turn with the tube bender.

It split the tube. This could take a while

- It broke.

- Okay. Okay, okay. You've done a lot of bending before.

Never heat it, but I'm into it. I, what's that?

I've never done it, but I'm sure it's not that hard.

They know how to use the tools. How can they build a car?

- This is great for people at home. Yeah.

That, that are like us. You know, we don't know everything.

We don't claim to know everything

and we're learning as we're going.

I love tombstone out of

- Everybody.

He's my favorite.

No, I stress about everything and work and business

and life and everything.

Tombstones just like this.

I'm really good friends with tombstone

and a lot of people don't understand it.

They're like, I don't know what you see in

that guy, but I just, I don't know.

I'd love him. He doesn't try to pretend

that he's something that he's not.

He knows how he is. The one thing about tombstone,

he's just got a humongous heart.

- This will be my third build. I'm one in one.

Wanna be two in one when this is over. How far do we want to

- Go?

If it's not 90,

that's nine.

Boy is that ugly.

- As their learning curve spikes.

The steel curves take form. Beautiful

- Boy.

Not bad. Perfect. We've lost our tubing. Virginity.

- Shep's. New skills have made him hungry for more.

- Tell me, do you think this is a strong enough point? Yeah.

You know the car better than me. Yeah.

That's the only point of strong in the car.

- If anybody thinks I know the car better,

everybody should start asking.

Everybody's starting to. Well that's why I'm asking you.

We got one cage to deal with right now.

A cage that has to go. I'm starting to bend the second one.

Don't you do? Don't worry about the second

one until the first one gets in.

Hold up. I'm not in kindergarten.

- Kindergarten or high school.

It's all about building a strong cage.

- Body Drop the official ref in the monster garage.

Steps onto the field.

Actually all I can do is compliment him.

- Looks pretty good.

Oh no. What do we got going here That ain't gonna hold.

That ain't gonna work.

That wheel's gonna break.

- Yeah. Be just fine. Did you guys slug this?

Put anything in between here?

No we didn't. That's gonna break.

- It is.

- Yeah.

- We didn't put.

- You better take some tri.

Put a put a triangle. Triangle piece. Yeah.

So it takes all the stress off that. Okay.

- Jesse plays bookmaker for the match for the red rockers.

The odds are good.

- About 10 to one. To the red team. Yep.

- For the blue bombers, the goods are odd.

- Oh, you knocked my arm off. Thanks. Please come again.

I don't feel so hard.

- We're back and lucky for us.

It's still day three time for Jesse to do his thing.

- I need some steel.

I'm gonna make them them little robot head things.

- Jesse will weld the heads so they'll come off

with a direct hit and match the shape of the original toy.

Jesse begins fabricating the rockham soum robot heads,

which will serve as the targets for the death match.

The red team gets the motor

and axle they'll need

to construct their high tech medieval flail.

They'll mount the extra axle at rear window height

and adjust the angle of the rims with a dedicated motor

underneath and chains welded on the red team's weapon

will make the blue team's head spin

and it may just knock their block off.

The first step is to hoist the front end up

in the rear.

- Who's in first, this site first.

Alright. I did have to. Huh?

I just gotta rotate in though. Geez. Whoa.

We're pretty close. We in about the same

amount on the backside Right here.

All right there. Right there. Nail it, knot level.

Then the belts won't run through. The

- Other guys are in for a flogging outside.

The blue bombers take possession

of a 12 foot length of steel pipe.

The core component for their punching arm.

You don't think we need a rotating base? Let's go.

No, not at all. You good?

The team launches into yet another planning session.

They've left out Captain Eric as expected.

He's taking it. Well

- You all suck.

You have like two washers. You just have to collar.

You have one washer on top of the collar,

another washer on top. Just grease 'em up

- And it spins.

What if we had a pancake

and with steel? Steel with a low minimum?

- I know it's funny between you guys,

but I'll tell you one thing.

What do you, what do you do every day for a living?

- It's the thing. And I'm not even gonna

get into that argument.

When was the last time you drove a top deal dragster? Dude,

- You know what I'm, I'm not gonna answer that argument.

I'm gonna tell you like this all day long.

Look, lemme tell you both something.

If you guys wanna make it work, then y'all make it work.

If that don't work, I'm gonna shove it

up your, you know what?

Because nobody's listening and I don't even need

to hear it from you 'cause you're not even in it.

So know what? You know what this either, listen, it doesn't,

it's not, this is not an issue over who does so you,

it's alright not to listen to me.

Is that what you feel? I'm just, is that what you feel?

I'm just getting back to work. I don't. Is that

what it's feeling?

Everybody feels it's alright not to listen.

To take a shut the up. It's time to take a breath.

I'm asking a question.

No, everybody wants to step on me when I talk.

You want to constantly go, Hey, this is what's happening.

If you put your hands, I'm, I wanna listen. I'm talking.

I can tell you're talking. No, you're, this is how. No, no.

You wanna make me look bad on tv?

No, I don't want you to look anything. I wanna listen

to you.

You see it? There's gonna be a

couple dental things going on.

I listen to you then you know what?

Every time he talks you interrupt. So I will yell.

You will not overstep me or get outta my face now.

And if you can't agree for me to have to scream that loud

to have him stop interrupting constantly,

then I think I must be a moron than I

shouldn't be the team captain.

But I have witnessed a constant interruptions over and over

and over and over and over again.

So all I gotta say is this.

The hands are shaking because I can't take it.

We're working our off. I'm working too.

Y'all are doing a great job.

But we need to sit here and think one

thing, there's a job to be done.

Not to interrupt you. You ain't gonna work,

you ain't gonna engineer Celine.

- You know a lot of people get under the stress.

They get on tv, they get in front

of the cameras and they begin to get upset.

Put the helmet on and go back in there.

- Let 'em go off of steam, bro. That's exactly

- What I said.

- Okay. You're doing a great job man. Thanks.

You know, and he even said that he just, you know,

he's just high strung man.

That's what said let him. I'm not mad at him.

So what'd he say? We go back in there man.

You guys are, don't, oh, I dunno. Is he still yelling?

No, he's cool man.

It's just, oh I'm, let's just charge man's just

- Charge back in there.

As Shep steps back into the ring, Jesse wonders whether

to play, catch and release or catch and k*ll.

- It's kind of like you're standing on the dock

and a fish jumps out of the water and you're sitting there.

Can you, you know my choice is do I sit

and just let it flop on the dock?

'cause eventually it'll stop flopping and die. Or I do.

I push it back in the water and help it.

- This is the nice Jesse,

- You guys gotta get your together.

Hey, hey listen, what you been doing?

You guys don't have time to screw around

and fight and yell and all that.

You need to all put your heads down and work.

Everybody great. Everybody picks something to do and do it.

Why don't all of you guys go stand there at that doorway

and watch for five minutes and watch them work

and see if they're fighting

or yelling. Ah, they're boring to watch.

- Well, I don't think we're in any danger.

We got three days to go and the weapon

and a few little things and

- I'm a nice guy.

I like everybody. But then I hate everybody too.

- I, I think a combination of the two ideas is gonna be,

yeah, it's gonna be paramount.

- It falls to Crystal to focus on what's important.

Figuring out how their punching

mechanism will work underneath it.

- The barrel motor do you think would be good

that we could use for turning the arm

- If it's got some kind of gear built

and you're jamming that in there, it's more likely

that thing's gonna snap.

- Well it's not a gear, it's a belt.

- I would just mount it and have it go out the back.

- Are you saying we could just have it be just solid

mounted into the car? Cool, cool,

- Cool. Yeah.

- No bearing. It doesn't move at all.

It's just solid and the hands just come out.

- Yep. That's what I think. - That's a thought.

- Well what do I know? Yeah. Stop, stop, stop.

Nothing nut in

- The blue team's design just got easier

with the arm no longer swinging.

The bombers shift their focus to finishing the roll cage

- To sustain stay. Right.

- A hard day of inner conflict inspires tombstone

to make a gesture towards team solidarity

and restore the blue b*mber's block.

Tombstones recapitation ends day three.

It's quitting time in the monster garage

- By John.

The sand between blue and red.

The classic battle good. Not so good.

The one will be dead going head

to head fight till the death.

- What you guys normally do, right?

- Day four begins with an eight old question.

What the heck is going on in the monster garage?

- If they see that we have something that's working

and we're testing it out back,

that'll be pretty big shock.

- It's like hundred percent shocking off.

- Lots of exciting action and fun for everyone.

When the world's only boxing robots battle it out.

- One of their guys came over today

and said, we have a weapon that can poke a hole

through your door and nail you.

And he said you have to do something with these doors

to make them so rigid.

They don't that we can't poke holes through. They

- Don't.

They're doing something that's really physically dangerous

to our driver

and then expecting us to spend all

of our time doing defenses instead

of making offensives to be able to hurt them. Hey guys up

- Here.

They're hitting below the belt.

Tombstone goes on the offensive,

the red team's morning meeting is interrupted

with an accusation.

You guys are running spikes. No we're not.

- No. You guys got things that are swinging.

We got ting that are way up here.

Yeah, this looks like a spike.

Not anywhere near your driveway spike. I mean I don, I

- Don't know what you call that.

- So if we have a spike then I'm gonna run spikes all

around my car and and do like 60 and just go for it.

I'm gonna have my car covered with Rusty and Taylors.

We don't have any spikes. I wipe on 'em too.

I don't want to get them paled in my car. Wow.

This right here is an artist rendering.

We also have a outer perimeter cage.

So you guys are only running any spikes

around your cage anywhere. We have no spikes on the car.

- We're not trying to k*ll you. Yeah, I know.

- Good. Don't be scared. I'm not scared. I don't be scared.

Oh, I can make it like brutally ugly, you know. Bye bye.

- So I mean if they wanna cover the whole thing

of rusty spikes and let 'em do it

and human feces they, you know, that's fine.

But they're never gonna get close enough

to us where to Exactly.

It's not gonna get to us. It's just gonna make their thing.

Look, look, it's covered in rusty spikes and human feces.

- Yeah, I know. - I'll even give them the

container so they can collect it.

- All that's being collected right now is a bucket

full of smug.

They don't know who they're messing with. Snap them

into rib bar.

Tombstones fighting Mad dad.

So his teammates give him the best seat in the house.

The driver's seat

- Looks like we're looking real good getting it done.

- Tombstone tries out his seat. That's

- Where, what do you think?

I think I could ruin him. Be like, boom man,

- Boom man boom.

The red rockers have selected Wink.

The team's heavyweight to be their driver. Let's see, 13

- And a half, 15.

We're trying to get 15 inches

of in a 13 and a half inch seat.

That being said, we're just stretching the seat out a bit.

- Aha. They made the seat fit.

Now they check to see if Wink will fit in the car.

- You gotta climb in here like this is the real thing.

I can go right up.

- You and I in

- Back that up.

- Winks in. We'll check back later to see if he gets out.

Back with the blue tombstones turning red.

- Getting a little frustrated today. Why?

Well, because we don't have any arms made.

We keep going on the cage. We've got no base plate made.

Yeah, I'm going five and a half on the width.

Yeah, two arms just like this.

I'll put a diamond plate, diamond bracket here.

Diamond bracket here.

- Eric's pneumatic parts arrive.

Building the punch can begin.

- At 12 inch stroke cylinders as we provide air

to it on the arm it's gonna go out and punch.

This arm's gonna have a cylinder here

and if we use all four of them we're having here.

Then when you push a button, this one will go out like this

and one over here will go out and two will suck in.

So go like this

pretty darn close.

- A nitrogen tank shows up

to pack some pressurized power into Eric's bunch.

- When they get mounted to the vehicle.

I wanna mount them like this.

- Two and two nitrogen may be a gas

but mounting it safely is no laughing matter.

- Bottles of compressed gases aren't anything to play with.

In the military when we were taught they could go through,

they call it a bulkhead or a wall.

You bust the head of that off.

You could smash it through the concrete brick wall

through another wall and another one and another one.

You can go and get four or five walls. It's a

- Rocket you get Go right.

It's just picture a rocket going into a house.

- It's weapons time all around

as the red team scavenges for some parts.

- See, look at that. Isn't that nice?

- We're gonna use these for the inertia ramp to skateboard

for an elephant,

we're making the plates for the inertia ramp.

These plates have to be identical so

that the wheels are straight.

- Cindy and Wink cut

and punch plates to hold the ram rollers.

The C channel is fed between the steel rollers

and the ram is almost complete.

- The car goes back, we hit 'em. This thing slides out.

Takes the hit off the top of their car.

- The latest news from the blues.

Their steel tubing exoskeleton continues to grow.

Jason and crew outfit the car with an expanded steel armor

giving birth to this monster takes Jason

back to his own birth.

- See I was born via c-section.

I didn't fight my way down the natural birth canal.

First thing I saw was a knife and then a man's hands.

Disgusting.

- You need to get your a*s together.

Hardworking Gym Day has moved on to his next project.

Hurry up building the solid mount for their monster arm

with the mountain place.

It's pole raising time. Watch your fingers. Oh yeah,

- There's electrical wire there.

Catch moving a little bit.

- There we are. - Cool.

- Hey, go shake the car.

- While Crystal runs the glove of the pole.

Jim sneaks a peek at the red team's ram.

- Yeah, I'm not, look, I'm not paying any attention.

- You're not looking, - You're not looking.

Your eyes are open.

- I just like to see a crew hard at work.

The red team fights back. Hey come here. Take a look.

- We got the spike hammer going. Look at this. Come here.

Wink. Look what's going on here?

You see this post down here in the back post right here.

Look what they got. Yeah. Got a big pole. Yeah.

- So make sure we don't foot under that.

You don't wanna get underneath that.

It's probably gonna, probably gonna fall back.

Just a big pipe. It's stick

- Pipe.

I seen it come today. We gotta have a private meeting.

Alright, lemme get this thing added away

before the camera guys figure it out.

- A trip into the monster scrap yard gets p

stoked. It's like

- Aha.

That's perfect. So one of 'em

we're gonna make into a battery

tray just happens to fit a battery.

Perfect. And the other one we're making into a light

rack. Retwe. Yeah. How many we got? We got

- Six.

Six. We're going to use the lights in order

to terrify them.

- Okay, well let's try to get this

mounted up as quick as possible. Get a belt length

- With the axle secured in place.

The red team installs the 18 horse motor,

which will run the flail.

- Right now we want to get our, just the alignment

for our belt so we can get our belt

length. So we're looking

- At 51 inches.

- Okay.

- Hey, that just cost you half a day's pay.

It's a distinct possibility

that we could be done by the end of Thursday.

We're ready to roll.

Our goal was to get this motor running by the end of the day

and get these wheels, spinned.

Get the cage done. We did it.

Get the nose back on and the hood on.

Have the internal skeleton done work.

And we wanted to get the roof rails installed

or at least be on the way to end.

And we did everything we wanted.

- The red rockers taunt the blue bombers

by flaunting their success.

- You are going down.

- What's up?

- Like let's hear it!

- We can't hear you!

- Eric answers back the only way he knows how loud

and dangerously.

- If you want something to ride, ride that.

Other than that, take it back to kindergarten.

- Only in Monster Garage!

- Body drop referees the teams out of the garage.

We've come to the end of hour one in the season.

Finale two part Monster Garage exit. Grab again.

Again, again. Here's some hits from next week's show.

- Tune in next week for the thrilling conclusion

to the Monster Garage season finale.

Will the Red Rockers diabolical death chains?

Spin them the victory.

Will the Blue Bombers turn their turmoil into triumph?

I love you, man. I love that.

Is there an important lesson to be learned?

It's not about winning, it's about trying.

We guarantee you there'll be big battles.

You want me to get out and kick your keys out

and get the off the car

- Bewildered builders.

He's just jealous. I'm getting too much attention.

- I'm monster. Their bed big.

This is the best SL ever

Tune in next week for the thrilling conclusions. Let's go.
