and got some sleep, he apologized.

because he accused me of being in love with you.

Only he didn't apologize because he was right.

I find myself talking to you on the phone,

debating whether or not to say certain things.

when the twins are growing up, if it's--

I'd like to bring them out to the ranch

every once in a while.

I'd like for them to know what it feels like

to have dirt under their feet.

[laughs]

Oh, I think he said he was going to take the afternoon off?

[Ben] Dear Val, I know we've said it over and over

that we love each other,

and maybe I owe you an apology for not being true to my word.

I really thought I'd be able to handle it.

I guess, sometimes we try to convince ourselves

of what we want to believe, and it only goes so far.

I meant to understand and accept, but I couldn't.

I know we've said it over and over

that the problem is Gary,

that he's always been there between us.

I don't think a day goes by that I don't reconsider.

If it were just that you still love Gary,

I could hope that someday that would pass.

The thing that won't pass,

that will never change,

and that I don't think I will ever be able to accept,

is that Gary is the father of your babies.
