How did you feel when you
were asked to help inside with
dinner?
I have experience in fine
dining, I knew that my skills
would be applicable.
I just felt funny putting on a
stress because I'm deck crew.
Why did you think she should
help and not Kelly?
Because she has fine dining
experience.

And she looked better in the

Which work is harder?
They're not comparable.
That's one thing I will tell

Our positions are so incredibly
different that you can't compare

They're both incredibly hard

When Andrew left, we all had
to pick up the slack of him
leaving, when which we were used
to doing, we had to focus on
that, when that happens, i'm
doing more work, learning more
things.
Logan comes on, he's really
good.
He taught me things.
But then it would come from me,
I felt like back to being a
junior decky.
Captain was like, you're not
longer the junior, you're the
junior.
The guys had more space than I
did, and that's why I came.
How did she do?
She did great.
It was tough with the slide
because, you know, it's so
heavy, it requires so much
physical ability that it was
tough for her, she picked up the
slack.
She had really great attention
to detail which is really,
really important when cleaning a
boat.
Well, the family that yachts
together, stays together.
Just ask brother and sister Amy
and Kelly whose time on the boat
brought these shiplings even
closer than ever.

but after a year and a half
after my dad went to jail.

alone at a rough time.
Talk to me about that period in
your life.
Well, I just had, I mean my
sister was everything to me.
She was my mom, basically at the
time.
She took care of me, took me to
school.
She left, I had nobody.
I was just on my own with
parents who weren't making the
best choices at the time who
totally turned into amazing
parents at this point.
They've turned their life
around, but at that time, it was
just hard because I was at a
point where I needed figures in
my life and I didn't have them,
but I turned out pretty well.
You were on drugs.
I looked in the mirror one
day, and I just, I was really
skinny, looked awful, and it
just clicked.
I was like I need to stop this.
I think a month later I was in
boot camp.
Wow.
Do you think the marines had
a significant affect on you
turning yourself around?
Oh definitely.
They developed me into the
person I was to do.
He went in this scrawny
little kid, a month later and
there he was, like a man.
After he had really been
challenged and grown personally,
physically, emotionally, like
who is this person.
I never seen my dad like
really cry, and he bawled.
And I remember standing in
probation, oh, and trying not to
cry.
Because I saw him, and he was
crying.
And we were standing at
attention.
I was like please don't cry,
don't cry.
I'm a marine.

Tell me about your
relationship today.
We talk almost every day, me
and my dad.
You ever think you would have
that relationship?
Far while no.
We had that growing up.
We had a leave it to beaver
family and the world ended and
we were nowhere need that.
You said that you had a
similar upbringing to Kelly,
what was your childhood like?
I think that Kelly and I
experienced a lot of adversity
growing up.
We took different paths in
regard to that adversity and
ended up in the same place.
And that is where our bond
started.

love loss between you and the
