- Really? - Yeah, I don't wanna burn.

[Jon] The beer on the plane was free
so Dominic was pretty toasted.

[Beth S] You just looked at where he was sitting
and there was just, like
beer cans all over the place
under the seat, the seat behind him.
[Dominic] I-I can't recall after drink five.
I mean, not that I was drunk after drink five
I just don't bother counting.

- I'm having fun. - Me, too.
[Aaron] We're all gonna truly try to make an effort
just to really get to know each other.
Because it's gonna be very intense
being with each other for four days
in a different environment.
Hopefully, we'll all
spend ample time together
instead of segregating into little groups.
[Tami] When we got off the plane
everybody was just mainly concerned
about getting through customs.
[buzzing]

[Beth S.] Noel is our activities director, and she's great.
As soon as we got here, she made us feel very welcome.

[Beth A] Glen and I decided we wanted to share a room
because we wanted to enjoy ourselves.
We didn't wanna have to worry about
anybody's hang-ups or-or head trips.
[Dominic] Beth A and Glen
have discovered their weirdness together.
And they finally came out of the closet
that both of them are just whacked out of their minds.
[laughing]
I know, honestly..
I can get a alarm clock that goes
[imitates clock alarm]

Glen, get up.
Me and him are gonna be together.
Doesn't take a genius to figure out
that Dom and Aaron are gonna share a room.
[instrumental music]
So, I asked Beth and Tami, you know
"Would it be okay if-if I were to be in your room?"
And they were like, "No, that's fine."

This is nice.
Do y'all wanna go swimmin'?
[laughing]

[Tami laughing]
[Tami] I will be the first to admit
I didn't always get along with Beth S.
I mean, at first, she annoyed the heck out of me, too.
Just here lately
I've really gotten a chance to get to know her.
Everyone else has not
given themselves
that opportunity to get to know her
and to understand her, and they just..

I think she's gotten a bad rap.
Most people that can't swim, it's because they're scared.
- Honestly. - Okay.
Because all you gotta basically do is-is float.

Move your arms and legs. Don't kick or anything.

Tami swore that she would never speak to me again.
And, uh, we decided once we got moved in
that we'd give it another chance.
So, we became friends.
I don't think that-that there's many second chances
or anything going on with Glen and-and Beth A
as far as Beth and Tami are concerned.

Dom was a little wasted.

[Dominic blabbering]

[Tami] 'Go!'
Dom is still trying to get back his cognitive reasoning.
His neurons are, like, firing, like fireworks.

On the itinerary, it said that there was gonna be
a bikini contest the night that we arrived.
Ah!
So, they think they're gonna get up there
and look at chicks in bikinis.
During dinner time and-and during orientation
we found out that we were gonna be judges.
The object is to get them
up here in front of all these people
and make them dress like women.
And I started to think
"Now, why would our girls be in a bikini contest?"
'Cause I have six gentlemen that are coming up here
'and they're going to be judges in our bikini contest.'
I wanted to be a judge for the bikini contest.
We have Jon, Dominic, where is Dominic?
Where the ♪ ♪ ♪ is Dominic?
Well, Dominic, he kind of weaseled his way out of it.
He just didn't show up to even judge us.
Jon, Aaron, Glen's here, and we lost Dominic?
'Ladies, come on out.'
'Come on, folks! Big round of applause.'
[audience cheering]
'Audience, I don't wanna leave you out there'
doing nothing, just looking on, okay?
'I'm gonna give you a job.'

Just all of a sudden, after the thing was over
we decided, okay, well, let's find Dominic.

We kept thinking he had gotten to his hotel room
but he had never made it there.
- Have you seen Dominic around? - 'No.'
And everyone was walking around looking for him.
[Aaron] Hey!
Oh, that's Dominic, that's Dom.
[Jon] 'Dominic.'
'Dominic.'
I think it might wear off a bit.
Obviously, this is not a good scene.
Is he okay?
[Jon] 'He's not looking too well.'
When The Dommer drinks a lot, he just goes to sleep.
He's just passed out.
He's got sand in his nose and his eyes.
Yeah, that's happened before, believe me.
[Aaron] When someone is your good friend
you don't wanna see him kind of in that state.

You can't lay here on the beach.
Now, the guy's lived in Ireland
and he's been drinking beer since he was seven years old.
Seriously, lads, seriously, I'll walk.

[Beth S] I feel sorry for him 'cause if he doesn't watch it
he's-he's gonna be dead by the time he's
with as much as he drinks.
Whether he's Irish or not, that's..
So that's-that's a good excuse?

What kind of excuse is that?
That's...that's stupid.

You can't tell Dominic that he has a drinking problem.

because Dominic's gonna do what he wants to do
when he wants to do it, just like most of us.
But, uh, I-I think something
very bad, it's sad to say, though
but something very bad's gonna have to happen
before he realizes that he actually has a problem.
- You all right? - Yeah.
[Dominic] Like, George Bush goes off to Japan
drinks sake and throws up at dinner, right?
That's George, he's got a problem there.
'Cause me, had a few beers, decided that
I don't think.. I think I should take a nap now.
And the beach is one of the most ideal places to take a nap
and that's where I decided to take a nap.
[instrumental music]
[Dominic] I woke up this morning with a bad hangover.
Ah, no!
Eight years of age with a license to drink
is what I am.
[both laughing]
You look like you just laid your little
gentle head down in the sand.
'I did, I purposely went to the sand for a sleep.'
'I'd love just five minutes--'
You look like you did a face plant, dude, in the sand.

We're in paradise and it's a nightmare!

[Glen] 'Great to see sharks, no?'
[Tami] 'Ah, don't say that.'
Oh, wait. Are we gonna see a lot of sharks?
- 'Land sharks.' - No, don't say that.
Land sharks, you know what it means, "land sharks"?
- No, what's that? - People you see walking..
No, but I mean, are we gonna see sharks?

[Glen] Humans are not supposed to be
able to go down there and breathe
and you go down there then you can experience that.
[Jon] It was unbelievable.
I think it's one of the neatest things I've ever gotten to do.
[Tami] Swam away from everyone else
you know, everybody else that was snorkeling
everybody else that was diving
and I was just out there by myself
and it was just so peaceful.
[Aaron] It's really neat when, you know
when you're down , feet
and you look over and you see JB
going like this with his guitar.
You look over and you see Glen's hair
sticking straight up in the air.
It's cool, I mean, I think that's..
when you look back on this
...that's the bonding experiences that we'll have.
It's really just these
these visions and memories of what we've gone through.
[indistinct chatter]

[Tami] I had never been on a horse in my life.
[female #] 'We need one more.'
'Who wants to go first?'
'In order for you to become a little familiar with them'
'why don't you just go around the circle, okay?'
[laughing]

I never rode a horse before.
[Tami] 'It's pregnant, don't hit it too hard.'
Give me a pregnant horse, I feel terrible kicking it.

[Glen] The worst experience on the trip
was, um, Beth screaming on horses.
They just started jumping and getting afraid.
She's a mess.
[Beth A.] I just kind of bite my tongue
when I see people
riding that don't know how to ride.
[Beth S.] Beth Anthony, like, starts screaming at me
"Beth, come on, get control of your horse.
Either get control or don't."
I'm like, "Excuse me."
[Beth A] Hey, I don't see her wanting to control situations.
She wants people to control them for her, commonly.
Help, help.
[Tami] So, for Beth S
she'd never been on a horse before
she had never ridden a scooter before.
So she was having a really hard time
getting into the swing of things.
[instrumental music]
Eh, we passed the road.
[Beth S] Then, for some reason, I started praying
because I thought that something was gonna go wrong.
And, then, all of a sudden
when I was coming around this curve
it was like this evil devil force
pulling me over to the curb.
Front wheel hit the curb.
[tires screeching]
I just jumped off the scooter into the grass.
[engine running]
[Noel] I want you to go to the doctor right now.
'Grace, let's go.'
'Beth.'
- 'Okay, we need a doctor.' - 'Oh.'
[instrumental music]
This doctor is a great guy.
He's very popular here on the island
because besides being a doctor
it's kind of a conflict in interest
he's a mortician as well.
He owns his own funeral home.
[chuckles]
Really?
[doctor] 'It's the first time you have this problem?'
Uh, the first time, this is first time
I've fallen off a scooter, yes.
Y-You know what, though, I break my fingers a lot.
This is painful?
No.
No, no, because it's not the tips that are broke.
It's not where it's broke.
No, if it's broke inside
one of the finger bones, you'd cry.

- It-it's at least fractured. - No.
Come on, I-I can, I can feel it right here.

[Aaron] And then, I went into town on this big boat
docked into town, really cool.
We all segregated into our own groups
just like we thought we would
although when we got here, we all said
we were all gonna be nice to each other
and we're all gonna hang out.
But it's Aaron and Dominic, Glen and Beth
and me, Tami and Jon.
I think definitely that Glen and I separated a lot
just because I-I found myself
being very embarrassed with some of the people.

We were on our way to join up with Aaron and Beth
and-and Dominic and his friend.
We went to a reggae bar which was a lot of fun.
The band was really nice.
[indistinct chatter]
Yee-haw!
To my dismay, um, Jon and Beth
still our check was there.
And, uh, Jon was going "Yee-haw"
and I just wanted to walk out of the place.
He was also doing this chicken dance
which embarrassed the hell out of me.
Yee!
It's a very small bar
and there's all kinds of, you know, locals.
You don't walk into a foreign environment
as far as I'm concerned, and start, you know
spouting off and acting like you own the place.
[indistinct chatter]
I turned to Dominic and Aaron, saying to them
"What's the deal?"
Because I feel that you have
separated yourself from the rest of us
and I just wanna know
is it a particular incident that pissed you off
or do you really just, generally
just don't wanna be around us?
It's when you come in to a restaurant or some place
in a foreign country
you be respectful to the people or the locals there.
- It's the way I was raised. - That is not the issue.
The issue is that we've been feeling
segregated from you guys.
You guys act like you don't want to be around us--
- 'Cause it's embarrassing. - What's embarrassing?
You guys walk in and scream "Yee-haw" and yell.
Don't say "You guys."
'Cause I did not walk in and scream.
So don't say "You guys."

[Aaron] 'How dare you, Beth?'
You guys are characterizing everybody
just because Jon walks in and says "Yee-haw."
[Glen] 'Yeah, because you all looked that way'
and I don't wanna deal with it.
I know to get away.

- 'He's not saying he's above.' - Not above, well, beyond.
- 'He's saying..' - 'Oh, you're beyond?'
Yeah, I wanna get beyond.

[Dominic] 'Hey, guys, guys, look.'
Beth, you're an idiot actor. You're so pathetic.
It's either that or you're an idiot.
- You make me sick. - Slow down.
[Beth S.] 'I have not said one word to you.'
Thank God, because I'd get sick.
[Glen] There's one thing my family taught me
my father and my mother, was to be respectable
when you're, especially at a foreign country.
I'm not done yet. Stop it!
And when you're out vacationing, or at a resort
um, I always had to be respectable when I was young.
If you need to go to the bathroom
look for the nearest pool.
I don't enjoy things the same way they do
by being loud.
[woman screams]
They just pull attention to themselves
which I don't try to do.

See, the issue really isn't

The point is I personally was embarrassed.

We talked about the overall attitude
that we've been receiving this whole weekend.

You know, I can overlook Dominic
getting so drunk and making a spectacle
and dropping his face in the sand
and he's gonna hold you doing a chicken dance?

As long as it's what you feel, and I don't think
there's any tactic to make it..
We came down here with this idealistic notion
that this was gonna be..

Unfortunately, when the seven of us get together
it doesn't always happen like that.
I mean, at least one person
has to get into an argument with somebody else.
Believe it, there's no hell.
The same old baggage came, came with us into paradise.
Although we said we were gonna leave it at home
that's not how it worked out.
