[Dominic] Wow. Tonight on "The Real World.."

I'll get it right by tonight, I promise.

"Dompalooza."

It's like a country slash R&B

slash rock alternative performance show.

Kind of like a show case, and, you know

show some of the talent that we have here in the house.

I said "Dom-palooza."

[Dominic] This is the true story..

♪ True story ♪

[Tami] Of seven strangers..

[Jon] Picked to live in a house.. Beth!

[Beth] And have their lives taped..

[Aaron] To find out what happens..

[Beth Anthony] When people stop being polite..

[Glen] And start getting real..

"The Real World, California."

Dominic had, you know, been experienced

in-in getting shows together and type-things

through his line of work.

He could help us out with that end of it.

[Dominic] 'This press release..'

'...right, this accompanies the invitation.'

There, look, there's the actual invitation.

The bottom half, right?

That will be on hard cardboard like..

That type of cardboard basically in white

or whatever color we choose.

[Glen] 'Yeah.'

'We're goin' to Kinko's on Lincoln.'

[coughs] Uh, yeah.

[instrumental music]

Would you like to do it on red or blue?

Do you have big envelopes?

We don't have any envelopes at all like that.

Smells good.

You don't have, like, cherry flavor?

Hard core paper plane..

...making.

- Hey, come on, we're ready. - 'Alright. Well, see ya.'

[Dominic] 'They're hanging out at Kinkos.'

He's an odd one, let me tell you.

[instrumental music]

[Glen] We're looking forward to The Showcase.

We're not completely ready.

I mean, I still don't have

the lyrics to-to half the songs.

But, I mean, it's not the first time I've done that.

People don't even know at live shows.

Sometimes there's so much noise

they can't understand a word you're saying

unless they own an album of yours.

And they don't. So we have nothing to worry about.

Dominic is going to MC The Showcase.

I guess, he's part of-of the-the band

uh, that he's kinda, acting

as manager right now of Stikkitty.

You'dthink Stikkitty would headline or be last.

It's, you know, they're friends with Dom.

Dom's-Dom's managing them, I guess.

[Dominic] I represent the Stikkitties.

Making sure gigs go off, making sure the band gets paid.

You know, the usual stuff.

[Jon] When I went up to that place, in San Dimas with Irene

there's a band that I sing with.

Come on, here, Big Jon.

And I mention the showcase and asked him

if he would be interested in, you know, backing me up?

And he said, you know, "Sounds like a lot of fun."

And I feel fortunate to be able to have them to back me up.

See, I wanna start playing this party.

Well, we're headlining so..

Wait a second, at first, you wanna go first, last night--

[Tami] 'No, I don't wanna go first.'

I never wanted to go first.

You did because you wanna get your equipment

and your girls out of here.

You're saying we should all accommodate you.

No, I was saying that actually

when I thought of this idea, I was..

I was just gonna have my group

just do something at this party.

And then I said, "Well, since Glen and Jon are here

why don't we have everybody do something."

So.. I think we're all chipping in.

I think so. So I think we should decide..

I don't think you should just say, "I'm headlining."

I don't wanna sit through the rest of the party

listening to your band.

[Dominic] 'Oh, if you go last, you're gonna have to.'

[Aaron] 'I think that--'

I mean, no! I'm saying.. You guys, go ahead.

- I don't know-- - You guys, go ahead.

You, why you're saying this, so you can take the equipment out

or do you, do you think we suck?

Yeah, what is this?

[Glen] 'Or, maybe it's the type of music she doesn't like.'

I'm-I'm not into that type of music.

Alright, well, that's good. Then say that.

- I just did. - 'Wow.'

That's up to you, so if you just wanna..

I just, I'm just wondering if-if the rest of the planning

is gonna be as, as..

[Dominic] 'Difficult?'

I think it's ridiculous that I'm the youngest one

and I'm being the voice of reason here, I mean..

- 'Oh..' - Oh, God! Give me a break.

- 'You're pouting.' - So what?

Tami, is this an Eagle thing for you?

I mean, we.. I just, I didn't know where she was coming from.

That makes no sense at all.

I don't think it was fair.

I guess, she doesn't like to be told anything.

Um...I don't know what her case is.

It just threw me off and I think

it's very stubborn of her.

[Dominic] Tentatively, we aren't gonna go ahead with this party.

I'm still waiting to speak to Tami.

But yeah, as of right now, it's seems to be going ahead.

Tami, can you go over to the club?

[Tami] 'In like minutes.'

My singing group is definitely going to be in the showcase

and I don't want...anybody

to think that I'm being self-centered.

[Dominic] Went to the venue to make sure

it was good for what we wanted

and the owner was gonna let us

do what we wanted, also and..

So, it's great, nice stage, nice PA.

And it should workout really well.

Okay, Doc. Thanks so many, man.

Right now, we got too many people.

I think, uh...you know

Tami's gonna have to tell some people that they can't come

or just hope that they don't all show up.

I don't know why the guest list is a mess.

I think there is, um, a little battle going on

between Tami and Dom.

Alright, so, Tami, do you know how many you need?

[Tami] 'Are we splitting 'em up evenly or we're just taking..'

Yeah, evenly.

Well, there's and there's four of us.

That would be?

You're the mathematician, aren't you?

Reality seem to over-invite people.

The club can only hold people.

And there were already people on our guest list alone.

From experience, you know, you give Tami so much

You don't give her all she wants.

I've never really heard Tami's band live.

I don't think anybody has, you know

really know what she's been up to.

I don't know how Tami's gonna do, I have no idea.

I mean, I haven't seen her but she's making out

to seem like she's gonna do great, you know.

So, I hope she does.

'Cause if she doesn't, I'm gonna tell her..

No one has, um, ever seen Reality perform

and that's, that's partially

because I didn't feel Reality was ready.

The preparations for the showcase

are-are very tiring, very long.

We're really putting our all into it

because everybody's excited.

It will be my first time actually being on stage

and performing with the group.

I wanna see attitude! I wanna some asses wiggling!

[Tami] The day of the showcase. I didn't know what to expect.

I didn't know how the crowd was gonna take us.

And I was so uneasy.

And I decided to chant to release some of that

negative energy.

[chanting]

The main thing that I focus on when I chant is

inner strength and, uh, peace.

Just focusing on that

and blocking everything else out.

And concentrating on developing my inner strength.

[instrumental music]

[Glen] The showcase day was very hectic.

Well, I needed to find an outfit first of all

to like doing that every once in a while

before I go on and play.

So we just like made up some "Perch" shirts and everything.

Yes, we've done it.

[instrumental music]

Jon asked me yesterday, if I would MC it.

I said sure if he wants me to.

The talent is oozing out of each doorway beside the windows.

We need to close them 'cause talent is oozing so much.

- People waiting to see us. - 'Uh-huh.'

Is there any possible way that those people

can come in while we're on and then leave?

- 'You will take care of that?' - Yes.

Sure.

Maybe you can guarantee they're outta there?

Then all those people can still get in with the understanding

that when we finish they leave, right?

[Beth] 'What can I do to help?'

Oh, my goodness.

What, I, I'm, well, I don't feel like

I'm a part of this whole thing.

[Glen] 'You can buy me a beer, afterwards.'

[Beth] 'No, no, I don't wanna'

buy you beer, but I'd like to do something to help.

[Glen] 'That is a big help, trust me.'

Beth Stolarczyk wants to do a soliloquy.

Maybe a one woman show, something Shakespearean.

[instrumental music]

[Jon] 'Is Glen there?'

'Glen this is Jon.'

'Listen, buddy.'

How would you feel about possibly lending

my drummer your high hat?

Are you sure, 'cause he.. Actually it was my ignorance..

[Jon] 'I don't, I didn't know what they were.'

So I just told him to bring cymbals and he didn't.

Okay, where do these go?

Well, a high hat traditionally goes right here.

Well, I didn't even know what one was.

So, don't make fun of me.

[instrumental music]

'Well, don't be afraid to stand up and take your clothes off'

and like wiggle, you know, and stuff.

[Jon] I've been looking forward to the, uh, Showcase

for a long time.

But before the show I was like..

I was getting a little bit anxious

and I wasn't really nervous at all.

I was just really looking forward to..

Looking forward to having a lot of fun and it was.

If I may have some quiet, please.

Hey, quiet. Thank you.

'Five months ago, when, uh, we started doing this'

I was in a place called Kentucky.

Owensboro, Kentucky and I caught this year-old

singing sensation.

I'd like you all to put your hands together.

People from record companies wave contracts.

Mr. Jon Brennan.

[crowd cheering]

Yay, Jon!

Well, Dominic has mentioned the little trip we took

from my house out to California.

And along the way, we stopped in Oklahoma city

and watched us a"rodeo.

[instrumental music]

♪ Just to change the way he feels ♪

Uh, there's this one.

You're gonna hear a lot of different

kinds of music tonight.

That's for sure.

[Beth] It's just when Jon's up on the stage

there's just something about him that..

Whether you like country music or not

there's just something about his performance.

The sparkle in his eyes.

The way he sings.

He, there's just no comparison.

♪ But I know she's been here lately ♪

♪ I can still smell her perfume ♪♪

[Glen] Jon's stage presence is great.

He just smiles the whole time. He's very smooth.

He didn't seemed, uh, nervous at all.

You know what's great is that I've been hearing these songs

that he plays all the time and I always hear them.

He's playing them in the bathroom when he's

showering and everything else.

So, like, I got to see him sing

a lot of these songs that he always plays.

[crowd cheering]

You know, but, Lerone, honestly, the only thing

I'm scared about is coming on that wrong leg..

Backstage I was a ball of nervous energy.

I was so nervous.

That will confuse me.

About a year ago, I was very lucky

to see a band here in Hollywood

that just blew me away.

I now find myself in a very lucky position

of working with them.

Put your hands together.

Free your mind and open your ears.

Stikkitty. Thank you.

[rock music]

[Dominic] Stikkitty was my main concern for the evening

as far as record companies and just people listening

in the audience were very impressed with them.

Loved what they did. Irene wants, wanted their CDs.

Stikkitty's singer, the best thing about him

is that you could tell that he feels the music.

Um, and he moves accordingly

and that's when you could tell somebody's authentic

about their performance.

We're not going up right now, they gotta clear the stage.

Stage is ready, is that the way you guys want it?

Don't say anything about starting the show

until we're absolutely sure we got everything.

[screams]

Quiet!

The next artists are one of my favorite roommates.

A member of a four girl band.

[Jon] I-I don't know, I kind of was like taken off guard

or whatever you wanna call it

They-they like ripped their skirts off

and started doing all this, uh

dancing, I don't know, they were trying to be all these sexy

things or whatever

and I was like, uh

you know, is this a G rated Showcase or what's going on?

- You were great. - Hi, honey.

Hi, mom.

[Tami] People that I've been knowing for a while

that have really thought that I was full of crap, you know..

Saying that I was singing and didn't believe that I was

really actually doing it or being serious about anything.

We want Perch. We want Perch. Yeah.

He told me, he's a vocal stylist.

He's the cause I'm a singer.

Yeah, right.

- Are you a vocal stylist? - No, I'm a singer.

About three months ago

this guy from Philadelphia

Glen Naessens moved into our happy little home.

Then two weeks later, his whole band moved in too.

We grew to love 'em.

They're called Perch.

I didn't know we could lip sync.

I forgot the machine.

[Jon] When Glen made his remark

about Tami's performance

she's gonna be like "where is this coming from?"

and "Who do you think you are?"

And, I don't think she realizes that she's been offensive

in the past is why and where it's coming from.

As far as the performance goes it was good.

And if you choose to lip sync then obviously

you know, I don't think displays as much talent

as live singing.

But it was, their voices, I mean, they recorded

this in the studio.

If we wanna lip sync it one night

'cause we really wanna get into the dance steps

then that's just how, that's just what we're gonna do.

But it is us singing it's definitely not

a Milli Vanilli type of thing, you know.

We can sing.

If you're gonna act as-as c*ck as Tami has seemed

to act about her music and everything

um, and you're gonna throw stones like she's done to us

um, she better accept some thrown back at her.

And it wasn't even a stone it was more like

a little tiny, nurf, stone, you know, I threw at her.

[indistinct]

[Glen] It's not enough just to get up there and sing.

You also have to have the strong presence

for the people to be attracted to you.

People have told me I have that charisma, I think that's what

gets me by, I am not as good of a singer, you know.

I'm a vocalist.

[Dominic] Glen as he said himself

just likes performing.

And-and I know he had a blast with it.

But he's, you know, very Jim Morrison-esque.

You know, would you agree?

I-I definitely felt that I got what I wanted out that night

um, although we didn't have any record people

come up to us or anything else.

We-we performed and made it through our set.

And that's one thing we're always happy about.

Everybody's done their things individually

but we've never actually did anything together

and it was really special for us to be able to perform

and-and make people happy and do what we like to do.

I think everybody had different reasons for doing it.

I definitely accomplished mine, I had a blast.

For me, that's the enjoyment

when you see it all finished and ending.

You know when you've accomplished something.

and-and this was all some kind of dream.
