Crafty, so I'm just trying to

The way the neckline falls, it's

It just looks like a breath of

Fresh air.

She looks like spring.

I'm really falling in love

With my dress.

I think it's beautiful.

The way I used the lines on the

Fabric, it's something that I

Just sort of a layered effect,

Luxe, I used silk and leather.

I have to say, if that dress

Was at lord & taylor, I'd be

It's sophisticated, it's fun,

About this challenge

Differently, because everyone

Else kind of took it a little

Bit more literal.

You really twisted it and made

I wrote, "smart and easy," and I

Is it easy, which you want many

Women to be able to think, "I

Can see myself in that," but you

Silk right above the leather

Should be a different width than

Some of your proportions in the

Front of your dress.

And I think that just shows how

Much thought was put into the

Garment.

When I was thinking about the

Lord & taylor lady, you know,

I always thought, confident and,

You know, you're gonna stand out

When you walk into a room, so

Of course, I kept my shoulder

Detail, which I always like to

Kicking me in the pants and

Telling me to go younger, 'cause

It was a jacket first, so I

Remade it into a dress.

Michelle, did you kick him in

The pants?

Yes, in a way.

I don't know if I did a whole

Lot of pant kicking, but he had

A jacket that just looked--

Old.

Kind of boring.

Yeah.

And he's got innovation in

His brain.

Yeah.

And I was like, "plug that

Oh, it was like we went in

Circ--but in the long run, I'm

So I wanted to draw in the

And so I made the bottom more

Flirty so, like, at night, she

And I kind of just amped up the

Youthful age range, so I put,

Like the heart detail on the

Back and just played with the

Color blocking and the tones.

I have a really hard time

With this dress.

I can see where you were

Inspired by a rose.

Like, to me, the three layers

Were kind of like the petals.

It looks really wilted, though,

The way it hangs.

Then I also think that between

The colors, all the ruffles, the

Height, and the cut-out heart in

The back, it's very junior.

I knew it was running that

Line of being junior, but I

Wanted to maybe bring in, like,

A new customer, so that's why I

Was like, "I'm gonna go for it."

Yeah, i-i didn't--i didn't

Love it.

But we did not all agree.

I know that rachel liked it

A lot.

You know, I think that you

Did something that was quite

Youthful, and I really

Appreciate all of the design

Element that went into your

Garment.

I think, overall, it's an

Adorable little peplum shape

That you could wear as a tunic

If you were a bit older.

I love maxi dresses.

I just do.

Such an easy--it's a no-brainer

Dress to me.

I liked it.

I was not particularly

Impressed with this, just

Because I have seen so many of

These that you've shown us, and

I've seen you do them more

Successfully than this one.

To be honest with you, it's very

Generic.

I feel it's very beachy, but

Then, the way it swirls around,

It's probably a little too much

For the beach.

But I find it's probably

A little too dressed up for day.

I'm a little confused by the

Dress.

My thing is a lot of, like,

Playing with hard and soft,

So I like to use a little

Bit of leather detail to add an

Edge to it.

It's just really like a flowy

Dress and it's a little bit of

A dressier side.

I love the fact that you

Chose the leather.

I like that detail about your

Dress.

I like the silhouette of the

Dress.

What I'm not so crazy about is

The print that you chose for

This dress.

This feels like a little bit of

An old lady fabric to me, but

The design is there.

I love the tough chicness of

The leather.

I think it's got a nice edginess

To the softness of the chiffon.

Dress, and when she turns

Around, I love it even more.

I think that the lines and the

Cut are quite modern and yet

Still very wearable.

And then, the front, there's a

Bit of a feminine edge to the

Waistband that isn't as strong

As the back.

But overall, I do really like

I think it's a hot dress with

A horrible print.

Because the shape is super

I liked layana's dress.

If this had a really great

Fabric or even if it was--

Anything but this mumsy

Print.

I know, the mumsy print is

The problem.

But the shape of the dress...

Is great.

And how she designed this.

Did you like the--the

Waistband in the front?

I did.

My only dress that I didn't

Understand for this challenge

Was samantha's dress.

Was it the worst dress I've ever

Seen?

No.

But it's not really for the

Challenge.

I mean, that was too junior.

But can we give her a little

Credit to her point of saying,

"A girl that dresses like me,

Looks like me, why not bring

Them into the store?"

And I think that we need that in

Design, we need that in fashion.

For me, the cut-out heart

Sent me over the edge.

Well, she is taking a chance.

And for a junior client,

A cut-out heart might be just

The thing.

I don't know.

I have bigger issues with

Richard's dress, to be honest

With you.

First of all, I would not pay

$250 For that dress.

I would pay more like $25.

He got even the price down,

Which is even more amazing.

Don't you think he's so

Talented with lines and forms

And color?

I--yes, but--

You're not that impressed by

I think it's--

It was so well constructed,

I love his use of the color,

And I think that we could make

This dress for under $100.
