The reason why Wes is after Wren
is because she's not as easy

as everybody else.
She kind of played hard to get.

to a whole bunch of people.

The more I surround myself
with people in my field,

the easier it's gonna be for me
to have job opportunities,

and the easier
it's gonna be for me to network.

so that we can get a game plan
and really edit it as quickly as we can.

we're gonna have a big screening.

[Nehemiah] This project is a big
opportunity for me.

I'm gonna be doing this,

all the editing myself.

[upbeat music playing]

[Paul] Guys, this is the director, Ondi.

-I'm Rachel. Good to meet you.
-Hi, Rachel.

-What's your name?
-Nehemiah.

[Nehemiah] I know Ondi has done
a lot of directing and editing work.

Her film, Dig!,
is about the two bands, you know,

being best friends, becoming rivals.
Our documentaries are so similar.

[Paul] Soon as the film's over,

we'll go over to the next-door building
for a few minutes and talk about it, okay?

-Enjoy it.
-[Rachel] Great. We're excited.

[upbeat music continues]

[laughs]

I keep laughing because every time
I try to sneak a kiss,

he catches me.

-[indistinct chatter]
-That's all right.

You know what? I don't even care.

to be a really good documentary.

It keeps us interested the whole time.
And it was really fun to watch.

It's definitely an excellent documentary,

and it took her seven years,
I mean, to do.

-So, I mean, my hat is off to her.
-[music concluding]

I thought it was amazing.
I think you did an excellent job.

about your film for a little bit.

[Lacey] Got like a rough
draft assembly line.

-[Ondi] Uh, vacation's over. [laughs]
-Yeah.

Obviously being a director,

I have opinions, so I don't wanna do that
if you don't want me to come over.

[Lacey] We definitely do.

I think Ondi's influence
and opinions would be very helpful

shaping up what we're doing,

and I think
it's gonna turn out a lot better.

Like, Wren and I were progressing

like, this plateau

where just nothing changed.

At the beginning
of Wren and I's relationship,

it was moving extremely, extremely fast.

And I'm the kind of guy
who's got ADD in relationships

and always needs to be challenged...

She doesn't wanna open up anymore.

...always needs to have
something new, something crazy to do.

We can't progress sexually.

[Danny] Basically you're waiting

of the greatest inspirations to me.

them jumping into the water.

[Nehemiah] Ondi talked
about how her biggest problem

was trying to find a way
to make her film flow,

and I mean, that right there,
is our biggest problem right now.

It can be done.

-Is it all on your shoulders, my friend?
-[Rachel] Pretty much.

[Johanna] Yeah,
I don't touch that computer.

[Lacey] I sub-clip the hell out of it,
and all of a sudden, you put it together.

-[Ondi] Did you give him a raise?
-No, this is all he did.

I'm teasing you.

[Nehemiah] I don't need to make
a big deal about the fact

that I'm the only one doing work
and everyone else isn't.

I know for a fact that Paul knows

that I'm putting in all the work
because in the end

he says, "Good work, Nehemiah."

-You guys, good luck on your project.
-[Lacey] Thank you.

-Yeah.
-Appreciate it.

[Ondi] You're gonna keep going
with your filmmaking career?

You wanna come and intern

-for a little while?
-[Nehemiah] Definitely.

Call me when they free you
from this joint.

We need assistant editors,
we need, you know,

you can start editing if you want.

[Nehemiah] Ondi offered me a position.

That alone was... I feel like
it's a great accomplishment.

I think you
can get those girls to help you.

It's hard when you're sitting
by yourself at an Avid.

At least have a sidekick there.
It's just energy in the room.

[Nehemiah] I sit, and I know
that by me sitting down thinking,

like, uh, after all this is said and done.

Every time that I hang out with her,
it's a whole lot of fun.

that we've been waiting to do

that we've been here.

that was, uh, Nehemiah's job.

[Lacey] Don't know why
he doesn't just do it,

the more they can tell him what to change.

Rachel and I sub-clipped
all the stuff to death.

He just has to put it together
and he's just not doing it.

People have days
when they feel like they just can't do it.

[David] I hate to wake you up

-Nowhere.
-[David] Nowhere?

[Lacey] David's looking to see
a final rough cut,

and he's seeing the same thing
as yesterday.

So let's face it, what you just showed me,
is just where we're at.

All right. Well, I see you're getting
to the setup for the show.

The ideas are there.
Let's just cut it together and do it.

I was hoping we'd get...
be a little farther along today.

What I'm thinking I might do is stop
by again tomorrow in the afternoon.

I am the only one working
and I made minor changes to it.

David wasn't too thrilled
about the editing job.

I am definitely stressed out.

I don't know where to go next.

[Lacey] Nehemiah needs to put more care
into how this is coming out

to show that he can
craft something amazing

with his love and his skill,
not just put something together

because he knows how to press the buttons.

[siren wailing]

I'm frustrated because I'm trying
to work on the project

and I can't do it
because I didn't learn Avid in school.

[Johanna] Wes likes bragging about things.

They all didn't think
that it was cool of Wes

to go around telling everyone
he slept with Wren.

Everyone goes over to the drink.
I stay a little bit longer.

There's a message from Paul
wanting Nehemiah to call him tonight,

because Nehemiah
should be home working on it obviously,

but he's not.

[Rachel] Nehemiah's not gonna
be here and do it.

Then isn't it time for us
to step in and do it?

No. You did your job.

You directed.
You made calls. You did the papers.

You made sure all the stuff was organized.

Your job's done. This is all he has to do.

-[Rachel] I know...
-And it shouldn't be hard for him

because he "loves" it and is "good" at it.
