I've partnered with Best Western

Today's vast western is modern

their stylish new look would
help your design.

Now designers, since this is
a very unconventional city,

is what I love about Austin,

for this challenge, you will be
creating

a look using unconventional
materials.

I'm really hoping to win this,

make it a trifecta on
conventionality.

For this challenge, you're
going to create

a high fashion look inspired by
this trip to Austin.

You will shop for materials at
two locations.

The first is Georgetown farm
supply,

America's countries store,

Stubb's Bar-BQ,

which is Austin's legendary
music

and Bar-BQ venue. [LAUGHTER]

and seeing what pops out,

just seeing anything that's
weird.

Dried meal worms, yes I think
so to get weird.

I see these mealworm and I'm
like,

this is pretty weird.

The first thing I'm attracted
to is,

of course, the leather strap for
the horses.

I'm probably going to use them

as a structure for my garment.

I'm really inspired by the
horse

harnesses and the leather work.

I know I can make this work and
do

something really cool and
high-fashion.

Nice strategy is definitely
go for anything that's going

to surprise the judges and I see
robes, trying robe.

I really like the color,

I really like the texture.

like the marble and I'm like
these are

the perfect things that I can
just play around with.

when I'm nervous, I tend to make

the last opportunity to make
something that's big for me.

Today I'm making my anxiety
dress.

This is going to be interesting.

I plan to show the judges a
dress that is made out of

weird materials like bird food

and leather strap for horses.

I want the dress to look like

a regular dress when it comes
down

the runway until you get close
to it and you're like,

I will just glue the leather

I'm just going free spirit

I have no clue what I'm going to

I'm just going to think with my

using the rains for a harness

For the bottom of the skirt, I
wrapped around dog leashes

and guitar straps that just go
all the

way down. It looks very weird.

I am freaking out because at
this point in time,

I'm still experimenting and I
have to commit to a look.

I take the cuts that I cut

out and diamond shapes and I'm

to literally start creating
these flowers.

The last challenge, the
judges told me to mix it up,

so I choose a mastered dressy
fabric.

The rest of my life is at stake,

which is going to have to make
an impeccable address.

They pick out a black and
white tweed fabric

that have little bit of sheen to
it.

I also find this double faced
wool.

It's a little sporty, but I

know I can definitely make this
work.

Five minutes, everyone.

I plan to use the same
silhouette I'm

using with my cables on the
first dress.

I have to keep it simple.

I don't have time for
anything else.

For my conventional look,

I'm going with a one-piece
jumper

that have a coolies can.

I do find a really good
print.

It has pineapples and flowers,
and it's weird.

This is going to match my weird,

unconventional pretty well.

the fitting goes really well.

The BCA fits nice,

but for my conventional look,

about the worms on my dress
because is

like taking something and
beautifying it.

With the worms, I just loved
their reactions.

I think that what I made was
awesome,

especially within the
time-frame.

is what depends if we get about

a fashion week and I don't know
what to expect.

As my unconventional look
walks down the runway.

I'm extremely excited about it.

The records that I used up top
are catching

the light just right. It's very
polish.

horse rains and dog leashes and
a sun visor.

I'm feeling really good about my
conventional look.

It may be a little young,

cohesive given the time

come down the runway actually,

it looks nice. I like it.

I never thought about
high-fashion like that

before with fur tids and leather

like the asymmetry it came up so

I needed more work with the
lether and a fun,

but I just didn't have time.

Yes. For the unconventional
material,

the first thing I picked up was

the harness for a horse, some
bird food,

heavy-duty ropes, some paper,
and for the second look,

I wanted to keep the same color
palette,

just play with the lines in the
back of the dress.

Well, what an extraordinary
dress.

Oh, thank you.

It was hard to tell it was
yours. [OVERLAPPING].

I wanted to surprise you.

You should surprise
[LAUGHTER] me incredibly.

This was really beautifully
done.

The play between the hard and
the soft,

between the rope and harness and
the birdseed,

it just has a really beautiful
effect.

I love the sexiness of the back,

and I love how you played again
with the harness.

I think that these two dresses

could live in the same
collection.

You've really got this
wonderful juxtaposition between

this very sweet silhouette

and then it's got this naughty
edge.

That outfit, your
unconventional outfit,

it's unbelievable to me,

and I would never tell that's
made from birdseed.

I actually would totally rock

that mustard in leather,

It was fun, but this one was

I find it a little boring.

your two looks.

For my unconventional
materials that are used,

I used record vinyl,

which is made out of the top
part,

chest plate [inaudible],

and then also dog leashes and
guitar leashes as well.

Then for my conventional look,

I use a tween and

the leather underneath is

[inaudible] just to add a little
bit of structure.

I wanted to wrap it up and put
my aesthetic into it,

which was grungy on Algeria.

Dog leashes really?

It would be something I would
totally where.

I love the back,

there's 's just the right amount
of

edgy and dangerous and sexy.

Your unconventional outfit is
really epic.

I love this texture with the
rakers.

The bottom to me is not as
successful.

It is impeccably made.

Your conventional look just

has a little [LAUGHTER] [NOISE]
lack of personality.

I could not tell which one
was the

conventional or the
unconventional.

The unconventional is so perfect
that it

almost lacks a sense of humor.

I do get what you're saying.

Then the conventional looks

unfinished, it looks juvenile.

It looks like it after it's off.

Your unconventional

conventional look,

it looks like you panicked.

your two looks.

When I'm nervous, I tend to
do knots.

The unconventional dress is my
very nervous dress.

It's a dress completely made
with different knots.

You're an artist, you have
something to see.

Your conventional look is so
striking to me.

It's really beautiful, well

I'm very impressed. I really

I'm impressed with both pieces.

Your conventional materials
challenge

is not the hardest silhouette,

but it reads really well.

But this unconventional
materials dress that you did,

you are really onto something.

That is gutsy because there's

not really a backup plan once
you

start knotting [LAUGHTER] and

you're already six hours into
it.

I feel like it paid off.

I used guitar peaks and then the
inside are mealworms.

Then these are the band pins,

and then for this look, I just

continue the weird life.

I just picked a fabric.

I would pick but not,

so I was like, I'm going to go
for this.

For my unconventional look,

what I was thinking was a little
bit more carefree,

but things that gross
sporadically.

I used plastic cups and I spray
painted them.

Then for my next look,

I wanted to create something a
little bit more

polished to complement the
looks,

something different because I

haven't shown you guys that I
can

actually make a jump or

something. That's how I was
going for.

I like both looks. I love
that you

created this three-dimensional
texture.

I couldn't figure out what it
was,

and I loved the jumpsuit too.

We have not seen that from you.

That is a nice surprise.

it's gray,

it's a perfect little jumpsuit.

I wish I would have seen you
really take a chance.

I've seen this technique.

I don't find it so imaginative.

This is something that I would

unconventional materials

looks better close up and this

looks more sad in person than on
the runway.

I don't know why she chose this
material.

This was a very different
look from her.

The texture is what is so
terrific.

I really like this connection.

This is the creative side and
she really

went for it ♪♪.

wearing Roberi.

Wow, I'm impressed with that
he can even he do that.

The detail.

It's very beautiful.

This was quite a risk.

This shows a seed of where a
whole collection could go.

But the stellar pieces.

He say he's the only one that

was really creative in his
second look,

he really went somewhere else.

I think I give her credit for

Was quite a beautiful texture
that he created there.

It's stunning.

Yum, this for me

started to feel a little bit
more costume.

He makes a dress out of
unconventional materials

and makes it look like you can

actually wear it out and
[OVERLAPPING] get away with it.

Here he really went very
ameteur.

Doesn't feel like the same
designer in the sense.

It feels like it's panicked.

[OVERLAPPING] Hate to say it,
but it's boring.

Lais and Tirzah wearing
Cornelius.

This is a piece that had

so much more impact when he was
walking,

and as soon as they stood still,

it started to disintegrate a
little bit.

But I think this is pretty cool
what he did here.

I mean, it definitely is out
there.

I don't find it out there.

It's just fabric with stuff
glued on.

Yeah.
It's funny because this does
feel so made it

home while this fell so polished
and grown-up,

but it just doesn't feel like

the same designer when I'm
looking at these two.
