[bright music playing]

- Oh, my, what a large hat.

[laughter]

- It looks great on you.

Do you want to buy it?

- It's darling, but I simply

must see it in a mirror.

- Right this way.

- Hmm.

Hmm?

[laughter]

I won't take the hat, but I will take the mirror.

I look fabulous.

[laughter]

[cheers and applause]

♪ ♪

- Ah, another successful performance of "Funny Fish."

- It's such fun to perform with you fishies.

- Did you hear all that laughter?

The audience loved it.

- And, Vola and Chucks, the colorful sets you made

are wonderful.

- Thanks, Goldie.

- Yeah, we make a great team.

- And, Hank, your cheerful music

was the perfect accompaniment to our fishy farce.

- I hit the keys, and sounds came out.

- Indeed.

Well, I just want to thank you all.

The success of this play gets me closer

to my dream of performing in...

[drumroll]

Chomp City.

- [gasps] I didn't know you wanted

to perform in Chomp City.

- Oh, but, of course!

The lights, the energy--

it's the city that never naps.

Oh, I'd love to enchant audiences

on the Broadwave stage.

- That sounds fincredible, Goldie.

- [sighs] However, that's just

one fishy's silly little dream.

- Mail.

- Oh, why, thank you, Mail Whale.

- You're welcome.

- Le gasp!

It's a telegram from Chomp City.

Margo Mackerel is coming to see our play.

- Great!

Who's Margo Mackerel?

- She's a big-time serious director in Chomp City,

and she's coming to see...

[gasps] Moi.

- That's fincredible!

- If she likes the play, she might give me a chance

to star in a Broadwave production.

But...

- But what, Goldie?

- Margo Mackerel is a serious director.

She only likes dramatic plays.

Oh, her last audience cried so much, they dried out.

Do you know how hard that is to do underwater?

Oh, what if she doesn't like "Funny Fish"?

[crying] Oh, it's so, so funny.

- Don't worry, Goldie.

Every fishy loves "Funny Fish."

I'm sure Margo Mackerel will too.

- Yeah, as long as you're having fun, so will she.

- Oh, what a lovely idea.

But making the play a bit more serious couldn't hurt.

I'll just make a few teeny-tiny improvements

to impress Margo Mackerel.

They'll be so small, no fishy will even notice them.

[chomping]

- Hi, Goldie.

What do you think of the new counter?

We painted it bright green.

- It's beautiful.

But do you mind if I make a teeny-tiny little change?

- Go for it, Goldilocks.

- [grunts] Hmm.

[grunting]

There, dark and super serious.

It's perfect.

- Mm-mm-mm.

- So I said, that's not a sandwich.

That's my fin!

[laughter]

- Classic Baby Shark.

- Huh?

Where are our costumes?

[both scream]

- What's this?

- These are your new and improved costumes.

As you can see, they are super serious.

- Goldie's right.

These are serious-- seriously itchy.

[laughter]

[piano music playing]

- Sounds like it's time for rehearsal.

[laughter, cheers]

- Here.

This should bring down the house.

[somber piano music playing]

♪ ♪

Much better.

- Goldie, is it possible you're taking

this comedy too seriously?

- Yeah. Are you still having fun?

- No, but I must impress Margo Mackerel.

And if she wants a serious play,

then that's what we will give her.

- But, Goldie--

- Now, go home and practice

those serious scowls, because...

tomorrow is showtime.

[both gasp]

Oh, dear. Those fans are too whimsical.

[grunts] There.

That's more serious.

And look, you've mastered your serious faces already--

wonderful.

[both sigh]

[chomping]

- Can't you just feel the electricity in the water?

[electricity zapping]

- Oh, sorry. Our bad.

- I didn't say to stop.

I look fintastic in soft lighting.

[electricity zapping]

- Ah, look at all the fishies that are here to see the play.

- Yes, isn't it grand?

They must have found out that Margo Mackerel

was coming to the show tonight.

- I wonder who told them.

- Oh, I did.

Now, let's give them the most serious show

they've ever seen.

[excited chatter]

- Hmm, "Funny Fish"?

Ha! I'll be the judge of that.

[electricity zapping]

- [gulps, breathes heavily]

Margo Mackerel is here, and she doesn't look happy.

- Maybe she needs a laugh?

- Yeah, if we just have fun with it, maybe she will too.

- But Margo Mackerel only likes serious plays,

so a serious play she shall have.

[dramatic music playing]

♪ ♪

Oh, my.

What a reasonably sized hat.

- Yes, I am a very competent sales fishy.

- It fits perfectly.

[electricity zapping]

- [snores] - [clears throat]

- This is pretty serious.

- Uh... [clears throat]

Hast thou a mirror I may gaze upon?

- Verily.

- [gasps]

I look spectacular.

Bet Margo liked that.

- [snoring]

- [yawns]

- [gulps] Oh, no. It isn't working.

Quick, Goldie, quick.

You must do something seriously dramatic.

Huh?

[yelping]

[audience gasps]

- Are you OK?

- I've heard of falling in love with an outfit,

but this is ridiculous.

[laughter]

- Now, that's one funny fish.

- [gasps] The audience is having fun?

Uh, that wasn't a vacation,

but it was quite a trip.

[rimshot] [laughter]

- Hmm.

- Fintermission!

We'll be right back.

That was so much fun.

- Yeah, and the audience is loving it.

- Baby and William, you were right.

- The moon is made of cheese?

I knew it!

- No, not about that.

When I stopped being serious and started having fun,

the audience did too.

So let's forget about those dreary changes.

Let's get out there and have fun.

Anything for my fans.

- Goldie, hello.

I'm Marg--

- Margo Mackerel, I know.

'Tis an honor to meet you.

- I must say I loved the show.

- You did? - Of course.

The way it started off, so serious and boring,

and then got funny and watchable?

Mwah!

Krilliant!

It was so unexpected.

- It certainly was.

- I spend most of my time seeing serious plays.

Your comedy was a breath of fresh water.

- Well, it's like wise fishies once told me.

If you have fun, so will your audience.

- Absolutely.

That's why I think you'd be perfect to star

in my new play in Chomp City--

that is, if you'd like to.

- Would I like to?

Of course not.

[all gasp]

I'd love to!

Looks like this little fishy

is going to Chomp City after all.

[bright music]

Yeah!

[light music]

- It's playtime, fishies.

To the Wreck!

- Last one there's a rotten sea dragon egg.

[cheers, laughter]

- Ah, yeah, those seahorse riders are calling my name.

- Hold it, fishies.

The riders are off-limits.

- Yo, Bait.

- Wallace, what's good?

- Huh?

Why'd you let Wallace on but not us?

- Check the sunglasses.

He's in Club Cool.

- Club Cool, you say?

- Yeah, Club Cool.

It's the coolest club in the whole wide water.

Everyfishy's joining.

[cheers, laughter]

- Whoa, sunglasses.

I'll take one pair, please, and a mini pair for Rocky.

- Sorry, but you can't join Club Cool

unless you get approved by the top dogfish,

the King of Coolness.

[electronic music playing]

- [laughs]

- Shadow.

- Back it up.

Deck access is only for members of Club Cool.

[record scratches]

- Well, well, well,

look what the catfish dragged in.

Let them in, Switch.

I want to see what these fishies think of my new club.

- What is all this, Shadow?

- Just the best club in the whole wide water.

Here, I'll give you a tour.

We've got a dance floor,

an arcade...

- Winner.

- A spa and relaxation station,

and a deluxe snack zone

with all the chum-yums and smoothies you can eat.

- Mr. Clownfish, you're part of Club Cool?

- Can you believe it?

Any fishy who's any fishy is in this club.

- Yep.

Pretty cool, right?

- I must admit, it does seem quite popular.

- Well, if you want to join, you gotta prove yourselves

like everyfishy else--

by passing the coolness challenges.

- Coolness challenges?

Uh, excuse us, Shadow.

Fishy meeting.

What do we think?

Is it worth doing Shadow's challenges

just to join some club?

- Club Cool rules!

Yeah!

- Ernie! Ernie! Ernie! Ernie!

- This is the best club ever.

- I mean, it's got to be fun if everyfishy's in it.

- Uh-huh. - I concur.

- Well, if you fishies are in, then so am I.

- I thought you'd say that.

- [grunting]

- OK, fishies, coolness challenge number one.

- How does cleaning a garage prove we're cool?

- I mean, every other fishy did it,

but if you don't have what it takes--

Activate cleaning mode, fishies!

- Shark strength.

[upbeat music]

[all panting]

- Yeah, looks good, boss.

- Yay! - Yes!

- I'm dusty.

- Not bad.

But let's see how you handle the next challenge.

[chomping]

- I fail to see how this challenge

exhibits our coolness.

- Yeah, I don't feel so cool.

- Splish-splash, the sand sculpture challenge.

I failed that one, and it's the single greatest

regret of my life.

Now I'll never be in Club Cool.

Oh!

- See?

Anyfishy who's anyfishy is trying to get into Club Cool.

- We can't quit now.

Let's dig in.

[triumphant music]

- All right, time's up.

Let's see that sand sculpture.

Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.

Yeah, this'll do.

- Really? So we're in the club?

- Not yet. all: Aw.

- There's still one challenge left.

But don't worry.

This one's easy.

[all screaming]

- I can't believe we need a giant tooth

to get into Club Cool.

This fishy does not seem happy.

- I'd be mad, too, if some fishy took my tooth

from under my pillow when I was expecting the Toothfish Fairy.

- [panting] Wait.

That's it!

[screeching]

Stop!

Here you are, my fishy friend,

a sand dollar for your troubles.

Ah.

[cash register dings]

- [grumbles]

[dramatic music]

- All right, Shadow, we got the tooth.

What do you need this for, anyway?

- I thought it'd make a cool necklace.

Nah, not my style.

[objects clatter]

- So are we part of Club Cool?

- Line up.

After careful consideration, I, the King of Coolness,

have decided...

you're all in.

Welcome to the coolest club in the whole wide water,

Club Cool.

- Yes!

Sunglasses!

[laughs] We did it!

[cheers]

- Cool!

- Rocky loves his new shades.

- Does this mean we can ride the seahorse riders now?

- Of course.

You're in the club.

- Oh, yeah.

Let's have some fun, fishies, Club Cool style.

[rock music]

- Whoo-hoo!

I never felt so cool.

- Whee! - [laughs]

- Hold it, newbies.

- Au contraire.

Behold our shades and the coolness they denote.

- New rule: only super cool fishies

can hang out on the deck.

It's the next level of coolness.

You need super cool shades like mine.

Oh, and don't forget about Rocky.

- That's not how it works.

You have to pass the super cool challenges.

- [humming sadly]

- [grunting]

But we just finished the last ones.

- [chuckles nervously] Excuse us, Switch.

Fishy meeting.

- I feel conflicted.

This club seemed so chic when everyfishy was joining.

But now that we're here...

- It's not so cool.

- Yeah, it's like one big trick.

Everyfishy's just doing chores for Shadow.

- [slurps] Ugh, what is this?

Do you want to be super cool or not?

- I'm so sorry, Your Coolness.

I don't care if everyfishy is part of this club.

We all joined this club because everyfishy else was doing it.
