Cricket, could you please
be more careful when--

Wait, "romantic"?

Today is not Valentine's Day.

[chuckling] Oh, Father.
Let me break it down for you.

♪ Now I'm not mushy-gushy ♪

♪ I don't do chocolate or bouquets ♪

♪ But today is all about romance ♪

♪ 'Cause it's April Fools' Day ♪

♪ I like to show my love through pranks ♪

♪ To my girlfriend, Gabriella ♪

♪ Yes our love language is pranking ♪

♪ That's why I'm the luckiest fella ♪

♪ On April Fools' Day ♪

♪ Gabriella better beware ♪

♪ I'm gonna prank her back
to the stone age ♪

Sounds like today's a big day
for you and Gabriella.

That's right. I'm gonna pull
the world's best prank

to show the world's best girl
how much I care about her.

Ooh! Saucy.

Nope. I was trying something.
It didn't work, sorry.

So what do you have planned, brother?

Oh, there are so many possibilities,

like-- Uh...

- Ah, prank ideas, quick!
- Down the hall.

- [door creaks]
- [spidery footsteps clicking]

I got nothin'!

For the first time in my life,
I... I can't think of a prank!

What's wrong with me?

[giggles] That tickles.

Perhaps the pressure to play
the perfect trick on Gabby

has left you with a case of...

[dramatically] "pranker's block."

Gah, pranker's block, of course.

Gah. I care about Gabby so much,

it's got my stinky old brain
all messed up. [groans softly]

It's okay, Cricket.
You've got all day to figure it out,

and if you don't, the worst thing
that will happen is Gabby dumps you.

Great pep talk there, bud.

Well, I guess I got no choice.

Time to kick this pranker's block.

Look, Jade, all I'm saying is you don't
have to come into work three hours early.

[scoffs] Right, Gloria.

And I guess the ceiling
will just mop itself.

Can't argue with that.

- [door opens]
- [Gramma Alice] Girls!

The health inspector came

for a surprise visit this mornin'

and found a rat!

They're shuttin' us down for good!

- No! No! No!
- [mop stick clunks]

It seems like an awfully big coincidence
this happened today.

Ugh, I know! The one day I didn't check

the ventilation system for rats.

No, I'm saying it's April Fools' Day.

Right, Alice?

Uh, I dunno what yer talkin' about.

Jade, Alice is trying to prank us.

[Jade grunting]

But thanks to years
of being around Cricket,

I simply cannot be made an April fool.

- [rhythmic snaps]
- Mmm-hmm.

Oh, we'll see about that, Gloria.

Oh, come on,
come on, people. I need ideas.

Ooh, I got an idea!

You can hit her in the face
with a banana cream pie!

Nah, not clever enough, bud.

I know how to get her real good.

What if you trick
her into thinking you're gonna prank her,

but instead you read a tender love poem?

Ew, she'd barf.

And I'd barf.

Everyone would barf!

I've got it!

What if you hid a pebble in her pocket
and then she'd be like,

"Where did this pebble come from"?

And then you'd be like, "Me!"

[laughing hysterically]

Remy, that's not even a prank.
It's just weird.

Look, guys, I appreciate your help,

but this is Gabby.

You know how special she is to me.

She deserves
the kind of gesture only I can deliver.

Something ruthless and humiliating.

Hmm. There must be a way to get
you back into a trickster state of mind.

Yeah, if only we could get someone
to just show you how to do it.

Remy, you might be onto something.

If I can get someone to prank me,

then maybe that'll cure
my pranker's block!

Hey, ain't you the leader
of the cyberbullies

who messed with my friends a while back?

The name's Selena.

I've had a bone to pick with you

ever since you destroyed my drone.

Fortunately, I've got a new one.

A new what? [yells, coughs]

Ah, dang, I should've seen that coming.

Happy April Fools' Day, Cricket Green!

[laughs mischievously]

Well, did that work?

Is your pranker's block gone?

[frustrated groan] No!

And time is running out.

Ooh, not saucy.

[clicks tongue] Ah, no,
that didn't work either.

Here's your mail and my condolences.

"Condolences"? What the--

[reading]

What? Alice Green is...

[pleasantly] Here you are, ma'am.

...dead? [wailing]

Oh. No, no, no. Jade, she's not.

No! [wailing]

It should have been me! [continues crying]

Jade! She's not dead.

- [crying stops] Oh, she's not?
- No!

It's just a bad April Fools prank.
She's trying to dupe us,

but I'm calling her bluff because...

I'm going to Alice Green's
very real funeral.

[clicks tongue] Oh,
I'm so sorry for your loss.

- Don't be.
- Well, fine.

Dang it.
Now I gotta stage my own fake funeral.

It's the only rational thing to do.

Argh, stupid Selena getting me all wet.

And I still got this
dumb pranker's block. What do I do now?

I keep telling you, Cricket.

[in sing-song voice] Pebble in a pocket.

[sighs] This is April Fools, Remy!

Get serious.

I am. I'll prove it.

[panting, grunts]

Cricket, I find it interesting
that you've never struggled

with pranking anyone except for Gabriella.

Yeah. So what?

Well, if you tricked an enemy
of sorts, like Selena,

it could alleviate your pressure

and cure your pranker's block.

Trick an enemy, you say? Huh.

Well, at this point, I'll try anything.

Except that.

Hmm. What the--

You done got pebbled!

[laughs heartily]

♪ And this is the way we skip around ♪

[both yell]

[Selena laughs wickedly]

Like prankin' fish in a barrel.

Gah!

Hey, watch where you're going,
ya old geezer.

[as old man] Powerful sorry.

You'll be sorry all right,
when you're soaked!

[as old man] Huh?

- [clicks]
- Huh?

What the heck?

- [clicks]
- Ugh!

What's wrong with this stupid thing?

[as old man] Oh-h*,
nothing's wrong with the drone!

[as Cricket] But I did
switch out your remote!

- [clicks]
- Wha-- What?

Oh...

No!

April Fools!

Argh! I'll get you back for this! Whoa!

Whoa! Whoa!

It worked.
I dusted off the old brain webs,

and now I've got
loads of ideas to prank Ga--

Gabriella?

I saw you, Cricket Green!

Today on April Fools' Day,
our special day,

I catch you pranking someone else?

- Wait, uh, she meant nothing to me!
- Whoa!

Save your breath.

You went from crushing whoopee cushions

to crushing my heart.

But, Gabby, I--

[sighs]

Wow, this looks rushed.

There's no way
she's actually in the casket.

- [lid creaks]
- What?

Alice is really dead?

- Finally!
- "Finally"?

Now I can change the name
to just "Gloria Cafe."

Best funeral ever!

- Traitor!
- Aha!

- Uh... uh...
- Nice try, Alice.

But obviously,
I knew this was a prank the whole time.

I was just pranking you back
by pretending I fell for it.

Come on! Part of you
must have thought I croaked!

- Admit it.
- Nope.

I told ya,
I can't be fooled on April Fools' Day.

Come on, I wanna hear you say it.

[grumbles] You can't be fooled
on April Fools' Day.

I can't hear you.

Fine! You can't be fooled
on April Fools' Day.

That's right.

- [rhythmic snaps]
- Mmm-hmm.

Woo!

[humming]

[grumbles, grunts]

- Gabriella!
- [♪ strums folk music]

What do you want?

I figured you'd be here.

I know how you love feeding the ducks.

Any requests? Huh?

Aah! My eyes!

- [screaming]
- Gabby, can we talk?

- What's there to talk about?
- [man screaming]

Today was supposed to be all about us,

but you made it about
you and that girl, Selena.

You got it all wrong!

I got stuck coming up
with a prank good enough for you,

so I tried pranking somebody else.

I was just trying to get over
my pranker's block.

You had pranker's block?

I know, it's embarrassing.

- I had pranker's block, too.
- You did?

I wanted to absolutely destroy you,

but for the first time ever,

I couldn't come up with anything.

I guess as good as we are
at practical jokes,

maybe we ain't
so good at playing jokes on each other?

Well, maybe we don't have to.

Yeah, I don't want you
to be my prank target.

I want you to be my prank partner.

[both chuckle mischievously]

Well, what are we waiting for?

[both] Let's go prank someone!

- [man] Aah, they're still attacking me!
- [quacking]

So, check it out, Jade.
Not only did I see through Alice's prank,

but I totally reversed it on her.

Yeah, Gloria is basically un-prankable.

Uh, Jade, careful with that ladder.

- Whoa! [grunts]
- [thuds]

- Jade!
- [groans]

Oh, my gosh! Oh, my gosh! What do we do?

- [groaning]
- Help! Does anyone know CPR?

- [both laughing]
- [gasps] Huh?

[both] April Fools!

- [laughs]
- What the-- You all are sick!

- Looks like you got got.
- [snaps fingers]

- [bones creak]
- [groans]

You get the idea.

- Good work, you two.
- Ugh.

- [all laughing]
- Welcome back, boss.

Aah! I got chopped in half!

What is happening?

- [groans]
- [thuds]

Of all our semi-weekly
Papa-daughter activities,

coming to the pet store is my favorite!

I just love looking at all the animals.

And it's much cheaper than the zoo.

Hey, Papa, while I usually make do
with simply petting the pets,

would it be okay if just this once,
I got a pet?

Oh, I don't know, sweetie.
I'm kinda running out of room

for another family critter
in my wallet here.

I mean, a pet of my own.

[chuckles] You know,
I had a pet of my own once.

A worm named Todd.

I loved that little guy and he loved me.

Ah... All right, Till.
What pet were you thinking?

I'm glad you asked,
for I have chosen this beautiful,

elegant, stunning...

little fish!

[labored, wheezy breathing]

Uh, sweetie, you sure
you wouldn't want one

that's a bit more, uh...

- [labored wheezing]
- ...lively?

He's perfect.

Well, if that'll make you happy.

- We'll take it.
- Great! But no refunds.

Yay!

[coughing]

Ooh! What a mighty cough you have!

I shall call you "Cougho."

Well, Cougho,
I hope you have a nice long life with us.

And he's dead.

Little fella didn't even
make it to suppertime.

Tilly's heart will be broken
if she finds out.

- Find out what?
- Tilly!

Ooh, what's going on?

Just checking in on my beloved Cougho.

How is he?

Oh, he's just taking a little nap.

In fact, yawn, we should all take a nap.

Especially you.

Good thinking, Papa.

Best to sync our sleeps,
as to maximize our awake time together.

See you soon, Cougho. [yawns]

Sweet lengthy dreams, my angel.

You know that fish is dead, right?

Yeah, but Tilly doesn't.

When she figures out,
Cougho has moved on to

"wetter pastures,"

it'll crush her.

But as her father,
I'm determined to protect her from grief,

whatever it takes!

This ain't gonna go well.

[teen as mom]
Oh, my gosh, Mom, I'm in your body.

[mom as teen]
And I'm in your body. What do we do?

Hi, honey! I just bought us a new car.

Why don't you take it for a drive?

- Yo!
- That sounds lovely, dear.

- Not you! You're grounded!
- Oh.

I could get used to this.

- [brakes screeching]
- [crash]

[laughs] Wow!

Wacky Wednesday is such a great movie.

Yeah, wouldn't it be cool
if we could body swap?

I was thinking the same thing!

Well, we don't have an evil witch
to curse us like in the movie,

but what if, stay with me here,

we pretended to?

That sounds fun. I'm in!

All right. First we gotta

accidentally-on-purpose
walk into each other.

- Ready?
- Ready.

- Don't mind me, just walkin'--
- La-la-la--

[both] Whoa, whoa, whoa!

- [thuds]
- [gasps]

Oh, no!

[both] It worked!

[both giggle]

Fish, fish, fish, fish, fish!

[gasping] Fishy! Fishy?

Where are all the fish?

Oh, sorry about that. We're all out.

Lotta dads protecting
their daughters from grief today.

[panicked whimper] I'm sorry. I need this!

- [grunting]
- Hey, let go!

Oh, fish sticks.

[Cricket] Oh, no!

Gloria, please. You gotta help us!

We swapped bodies.

You haven't swapped bodies.

You've clearly
just changed clothes, Cricket.

No, I'm Remy.

That's Cricket!

Bingo, bingo.

So, as you can see-- [grunts]

Ah, it's actually kinda hard
to see with these glasses,

which as Remy I always wear. Aah!

- Crick-- I mean, Remy, are you okay?
- [both yell]

I don't have time for this today.

- [groans]
- I don't think she fully bought it.

Swapping clothes isn't enough.

We gotta up our game
and swap personalities.

Can I put my shoes back on?

Yeah, I think that would be best.

No. Tilly's gonna wake up any minute.

She cannot see that dead fish.

I must dispose of the body.

I'll tell her Cougho ran away.

She'll never know.

[gasps] Papa!

Tilly!

Was that Cougho?

Uh... Oh, no!

I just accidentally flushed
your very alive fish. Oh.

I came in here to give Cougho a bath,

but then I had to use the facilities.

Uh, got some wires crossed and oopsie.

Does this mean Cougho is... dead?

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

Of course not.

He's very much alive, uh, in the sewer.

- Really?
- Yeah.

Sewers are filled with water,
and fish love water.

I bet he's down there partying it up.

Oh, great. Let's go get him then.

I literally can't think
of a single reason not to.

Excellent. We won't rest
until he's back home safe.

To the sewers!

[unenthusiastically] To the sewers.

[Kiki] Okay, now squeeze the juice.

- [spitting]
- [chuckles]

Weezie be squeezie.

All right, now remember,

the key is to act like each other.

Oh, golly gee, I'm ever
so thrilled to see you!

You just gotta help us.

I might look like the super-cool Cricket,

but I'm actually Remy!

[both] We swapped bodies!

Why are you two talking like that?

Um, yeah.

You do sound kind of different, Remy.

Golly gosh! Whatever do you mean?

I'm just being the same
little boy baby I always am.

You, on the other hand,
my best, coolest friend Cricket,

are being really un-Cricket-like.

Oh, yeah?

Well, yee-haw, I'm Cricket Green!

I'm rootin' tootin', buck-wild crazy!

[scoffs] Well, I'm Remy Remington.

Yipers! Fiddlesticks! Oh, me! Oh, my!

Hmm, y'all be trippin', so we be skippin'.

- Where's my bodyguard?
- Yippee ki-yay!

Wow, you two sound just like the other!

- Uh-huh, uh-huh.
- Mmm-hmm, mmm-hmm.

I know what's going on here.

You've stolen each other's bodies!

- [both grunt]
- What?

And that is an arrestable offense.

[both gasp and whimper]

[gagging]

Uh, sweetie, I know
you wanted to find Cougho,

but this is the 20th slime pile,
and there's no sign of him.

So, whaddaya say we head home now?

But, Papa, we can't give up on Cougho yet.

Besides, there's only
one more place to look.

[groans wearily] All right.

But after this, that's it!

Then we go home and take... [grunts]

a... [grunts] bath!

- [rumbling]
- Hmm? I've made an error.

[both scream]

We swear we didn't steal
each other's bodies.

It was just a dumb prank.

Nice try, body snatchers.

You just don't wanna go to jail.

Now tell me whose body you were gonna
take next. Mine? 'Cause I like my body.

It was just a goof.
It should have been obvious

'cause of my horrible impression of Remy.

He's so much more than a spoiled rich kid.

And Cricket's much more than
a little goblin country boy.

[both] He's my best friend and I love him!

Aw, I had a friend once.

Then he had to go and commit tax fraud.

I'll let you go, but if I ever catch you
not being yourselves again,

it's Sing Sing for you jailbirds.

Bye, boys. Another day,
another body un-snatched.

Well, Remy, this really
was a wacky Wednesday.

- But it's Thursday.
- Whatever.

Ready to switch back?

You got it, bud!

[both] Whoa, whoa, whoa!

[grunts] Looks like we're back!

[both] We did it!

Now let's go sh**t spitballs
at people in the park.

I will happily watch you do that.

[screaming, grunts]

[gasps] Tilly?

[grunts] Right here, Papa.

Oh, thank biscuits.

Where are we?

[Tilly] It appears
we have reached the end of the line.

Looks like Cougho was swept out to sea,

where I'm sure he's very happy and alive.

[chuckles] But I don't think
we'll ever find him, sweetie.

I guess you're right.

Well, losing a pet

sure has been ambiguous.

And that's for the best.

Now you can go on living and never worry
about what happened to him.

Really?

- Never?
- Yep.

Remember my first pet, Todd the worm?

Well, when I was your age,

Todd ran away, and I never saw him again.

Maybe he's alive and well,
or maybe something ate him.

Who knows? Not me.

The point is,
I never found out what happened to him,

so I never had to say goodbye
and deal with any sadness.

So I'll just go on living with all
this uncertainty for the rest of my life?

Never mourning the loss,
just like you did.

Yes, and that's, uh...

a good thing.

[sighing] Tilly,

I didn't flush Cougho on accident.

Cougho was very sick
and passed away this morning.

After I found out, I flushed him

because I didn't want you to know he died.

Oh... I see.

Quite surprising. He had such vitality.

I'm happy to know the truth
about what happened to him.

Why didn't you tell me sooner?

I just didn't want you to be sad,

and I thought that if I spared you

from feeling grief, you would avoid it.

That's what I did with Todd.

Avoided feeling it.

But, Papa, grief is a part of life.

The best way for me
to get over the loss of Cougho

is to feel his loss,
because it means I loved him.

Yeah, that probably makes
more sense than what I did.

Papa, tell me more about Todd.

Todd was

the best dang worm a boy could ever have.

So wiggly, slimy and wrinkled.

[chuckles] He used to
crawl up my arm and tickle me like crazy.


We played together all the time,

and when I was having a bad day...

he was always there for me.

[taps]

And he loved watching sunsets...

just like this one.

I would have loved to meet Todd, Papa.

I think he would have
loved to meet you, too.

I bet him and Cougho
would have been great friends.

[Tilly] A fish and a worm.

What an unlikely pair.

♪ I got sweat in my eyes ♪

♪ Lost a bet and got bit
by a hundred flies ♪


♪ I fell out a big ol' tree ♪

♪ Hit every branch
and scraped up both my knees ♪


♪ I got chased by dogs ♪

♪ Licked by a frog ♪

♪ Got a rash on my legs ♪

♪ Dropped a dozen eggs ♪

♪ I got splinters in seven of ten ♪

♪ And tomorrow, I'll do it all again ♪
